  1. This has been discussed elsewhere with a lot of support. Most of us interested in it have wondered out loud (errrm... typed it?) why it was never part of the game in the first place? After all, FO2 had options of marrying a young woman or her brother depending upon your characters preference - not gender! :) I like your ideas, but I'd like the romance to be part of the game play, not just a happy ending. But hey, go for it, it is still an excellent idea either way. If you don't mind, and as this is a forum, I'll put forward some of my take on the characters. ED-E: Not much romatically you can do with this unless you go into some sort of philia - I don't know what the name of the philia would be for technology/robots? Androidaphilia? LOL - it is probably out there on the net somewhere! Basically, if you can think of something, there is probably someone that has a sexual interest/philia in it which would make for wanting to have a romantic relationship for it. As for turning ED-E into a humanoid, there is a mod (Plastic Trees?) that puts a life-like female android in the same place as ED-E and I think you take one or the other as a companion, Ed or her? Boone: Boone has a whole lot of baggage and I don't see him wanting any romantic connections within the scope of the game. Even the endgame suggests that he re-enlists and sees out his years killing raiders and the like. He's a man's man - not gay by any means, but he has no interest in suffering a loss ever again, I mean he is probably very deeply scarred. At least for several years... Cass: Yep. Some are sure she is outright bi, I believe that she has enough inhibtions to suppress that unless she has some social lubricant in her and is just plain horny. She comes from the NCR and as one of the officers in the NCR Outpost points out, he can't get into a relationship with another man no matter how much he likes the fella, he is part of the NCR and it isn't as openly accepted as it is in this region (Nevada?). So I would suggest she IS bi, just hides it and you'd have to be a special woman (the courier of course) for her to show public affection - but in private...! So yeah, works for male or female characters. Veronica: I love what you have, totally agree! Raul: Yep, I do imagine there is a related philia to ghouls too. However, I don't believe ghouls reproduce as smoothskins do, and I'm not sure if it is cannon or not, but I somehow had it in my head that the required parts don't function for that sort of fun? Having said that, it is pretty much cannon that ghouls can't grow head or facial hair, but there are notable exceptions I believe - one in the vanilla FO3 (or is it a wig?), and the other in the DLC for FO3 in Point Lookout (which is definately a Van Dyke facial suite). Arcade: I like your original idea. Lily: Psychotic, but on medication AFTER the end of the game - not a safe bet I would think during it? Rex? Say no more, he's just a loyal pet. What I'd like to see is a mod that could select (depending upon the player, and upon the character's Charisma) one or more romantic interests of either sex that don't accompany our hero on adventures, but who can be left in a town (in an available dwelling of somesort if they don't already have one) or in the charater's 'home base' whether that be the Lucky 38, or Novac, or the outskirts of New Vegas, etc. Regardless, I still like you idea in general.
  2. Hello chiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiildren... I am ust curious, and it would be, in the words of The Tick, be really keen if this was posible, even more so if it was easy. :) Some of the companions I've downloaded or just read the description of the mod, have included and item with which to 'call' your companion when they are stuck somewhere. In one, there is a named pair of glasses for instant, equip and un equip them and there you have it, that compnion is no l onger stuck in a rock bobbing about, or in a set of shelves running but getting nowhere. In another, there is a (the screen shot showed a note) an item that is used, I assume similarly, to call that companion. Although I have multiple companions at times, sometimes I just like to leave most behind for a break while I take out just one. I have had Veronica stuck in the ground several times. Boone in a rock as well, and Cass and Ronnie at different times inside one of those metal shelves (the sort you buy at a hardware and assemble yourself for your workshop), just running and running and getting nowhere... BECAUSE THEY WERE STUCK! I'll kick myself if this already exists. Would be good if it was a handy-talky (the orginal walky-talky was actually the backpack radio - you could walk with it anywhere anad still talk without a wall socket like most radios had - then they invented the handy-talky which is the handheld R/T which everyone now calls a walky-talky... just a little military technology history, feel free to look it up) or something, the glasses are to easy to drop, but I live with them. :) Cheers!
  3. Really? Now when I play tomorrow I am going to have to go and take a look! Drop everything and stand buck naked anad see what weight I have...
  4. I was thinking of posting this one myself! So I concur. What's with that??
  5. Of course, since you aren't making it a fast travel thing, this is only an issue with the first playthrough. My current character remembers pretty much where all the locations are and heads to where he wants to go without the markers if need be. Just saying... :)
  6. I also used the abandoned caravan until I found Novacancy. I liked the dingy dark little room with just enough furnishinhs to make it crowded and useful - atmospheric. I also gave up on the caravan when Sunny came spent a night with me (not modded). Really, my first character was female and didn't mind, she just slept for seven hours and awoke with Sunny curled up on the mattress! My current character isn't a male and hasn't been so lucky - LOL. I never knew where Sunny really lived as following her one night she went to Trudy's house and just wandered about the place until about 9:45 A.M... Maybe her and Trudy had an argument? I also agree about the fully tricked out home bases. I did try a bunker for the last half of my first run through, but it too came with lockers of ammo, armour, and weapons. I only used two empty weapons lockers and ignored the rest which sort of wasted part of it. But upgrades sound great. For those that want it, there could be the auto doc, the lab, etc., but for those of us who don't, there could still be new furniature purchased a piece at a time with varying quality?
  7. I'd not like to just claim a house in a place like Goodsprings without earning it, it wouldn't feel right to me taking sides with the Gangers and then just moving into a house unless I was utterly evil - in which case there would be plent from the townies that had b een slain? Like FO3 in Megaton, doing something to earn it would be the shot for me and I actually expected it. My daughter started playing a week before I did and one of the first things I asked her was, "Where's the player based? How do they get to own their house?" She didn't know at the time, but we all know, Goodsprings isn't the place. I like the idea of the upgrades and again, thanks to FO3 (of sorts), I imagined they were all in there. Your's are far better suggestions for upgrading.
  8. The GECK can be found on the official Fallout website, not sure what the URL is, I just typed Fallout New Vegas into Google. Make sure you get the New Vegas version as they tell you the FO3 version is not compatable. There is a tutorial there as well, and it can be accessed online from the GECK itself under the Help tab.
  9. I do believe there is a reminder from up high not to bump? Beware of that, don't want to see anything bad happening to the folk in such a good thread. In FO (all of them) I alternate between male and female characters for replays. My first character in this one is female and she has had Boone with her from the start. Although he revisted the scenes that caused is dour, and they have theraputic effects upon him. It doesn't look like he will ever want another romantic partner at all, male or female. So for romance, My female character has the option of Veronica (who is cute regardless of what the "Prettier Veronica" mod makers say), Cass if she has enough to drink (that's the impression I get?), or some casual stuff from one of the Westside hookers or Red if you have jumped through enough hoops for her. As a counseller, I'd be worried about anyone (even a wastelander) who had a dependency upon the man who shot her in the head! I have also downloaded a couple of companion mods that aren't sexually/romantically specific, one being a new female companion from Bella's Bunker (a fine mod with a complete bunker - though overstocked), and the other turned the sweet little Sunny into a follower. Possible in-game males... one is gay, the other a ghoul (I don't think ghouls breed? I don't think that part functions?)... have I missed anyone? Dogs and eyebots don't count. But again, none of these (even the downloadable ones) have any romance options.
  10. I always felt it was strange that you get on so well with everyone in Goodsprings, yet they don't give you the option to earn or buy one of the boarded up houses there... like Megaton did. You couldn't just walk into it, there was a cost. I would have liked if saving Goodsprings, that they offered to open one of those unused houses for a price. My current character is living in a downloaded bunker, but my next character won't be. Everyone does bunkers. I do believer there are mods that do open houses in Goodsprings to the PC, but I don't want to just claim it and move in, so I don't use them. I would accept something I was told by locals that I had earned.
  11. Car is being worked on, but it is fast travel... I think there is a... hover chair? I don't believe it is fast travel...
  12. I dislike making "Me too" posts, but Jeez, me too! I would at least like the townsfolk to know what she did and respond in a negatve way after she turns up dead. Apart from... errrm... what'shisname in the giftshop (I hate forgetting names) when he gives you the apartment key you probably already have, no one seems to notice much?
  13. Only thing in the series that hovered from memory were vertibirds. Look at all the clutter, cars, trucks, bikes... even aeroplanes, vertibirds are all that hover and this part of the country, they aren't real common. But hey, I'm not putting you down on this, just pointing things out from my 'purist'-like point of view. If you want a drivable car or even a hover-brahmin, then fine. If someone makes it for you, more the better. :) I thought the fast travel version was all you wanted and was happy for you, but I was mistaken. Sorry man.
  14. Yes, you are absolutely correct. It has been there all along but missing it so early in FO3, it was set in my mind that it didn't exist - I have been playing for years not knowing it was there! LOL Kudos had been awarded for your kind help - I love this place and the majority of people in it. :)
  15. The Fast travel car is all I'd really want, has a very FO feel to it - perhaps I'm a FO purist? And anything that flies or hovers by way of cars and bikes is cannon-broken I feel, I don't need a car sim either, don't see the point?
  16. Ah, those were the days... I had characters that married Maria. :) I love the new fallouts, but i got to say the olds ones had more character... and humor. I think I mentioned it in some other thread, but the game developers only allowed off beat stuff via the Wild Wastlands perk because they didn't think the wacky stuff belonged in a game like this... WTF? Do they even know what Fallout was all about? How ignorant must these designers must be! FO3 really lost the feel of FO1, 2, and Tactics and I never enjoyed it as a Fallout game as much as the originals. FNV has brought back much of the old stuff but still missing some. What? FO was not meant to have wacky bits? The designers need to go back to the games roots and play through it to get the vibe!
  17. As I said, if I hadn't found it in game by now, I wasn't going to. This is just the advice I was seeking had it not needed a mod. I thank you very deeply for your assistance. I shall try that next time I play (though I think I had tried that, perhaps not quite long enough?? Thanks agian - kudos to you! :)
  18. I have looked through all of the mods I could think this would be in, and indeed, it may already be in the game (or a hidden/overlooked mod). Basically as things stand I start out with a holdered weapon and then get into combat and when the fight is over --> weapon in hand --> hit weapon hotkey --> weapon vanishes --> character adopts a "C'mon, I'm ready for ya!" fisticuffs stance --> hit reload key --> character adopts a friendly, neutral stance --> hit weapon hotkey again --> weapon is holstered/slung. So, from the end of combat, that is three keystrokes. If a key doesn't activate immeadiately (like hitting the key mid action for example because you are frustrated with the time and round about way one has to holster a weapon) it can be 5-6 keystrokes. So, can someone make a mod that goes from hand to holstered in one keystroke? If it is already in the game, I am a verteran of all the Fallout games and never found it in FO3, so I will probably never find it by myself - so can someone tell me how it is done then? Thanks for any support or help on this (I hope) simple request.
  19. I third this! I have the same feelings!!
  20. Well, I'm the sort of bloke that cleaned all of the bodies from the street of Goodsprings because I just didn't feel the townspeople would leave them in the middoe of town to rot and fester in the sun! I also like to clean up casino hallways and rooms, and well, anywhere I feel just leaving a body to fester would look wrong. So if Ihave to pick up a head or a limb as well, and drag it to a hiding spot just takes me twice as long to move a single body. So I agree. Don't know if it is doable, but I agree.
  21. Having seen some of the great mods here with fully voiced NPC's and quests, I don't doubt this is doable. But the Glowing One hero would need all new quest I imagine as I simply can't see by any stretch of the imagination, a Glowing One wandering into the strip and not being shot on sight... well, if it could reach the strip alive in the first place... making the game's endgame with the chip and choosing factions being played out? A talented modder (of which I have seen many) could posibly do the whole new game in FNV I am sure, complete with a new endgame to actually finish the whole thing. P.S. I am one of the few that hated the extended finish of Broken Steel for FO3 making the game technically (in every way if you look at it rationally) non-ending. Wandering about the ruins and wastes looking for cameras forever is not what I call the end of a game... I don't feel like I won anything, just completed all the main quests... :/
  22. As you know, it has virtually been done... or at least being worked on, so I guess this thread can now be left to die happy? :)
  23. I could live with this if it were for a vanilla body. :)
  24. the bos probably have to face a huge amount of enclave soldiers kinda like the movie 300 like u and 5 bos paladins vs 50-150 enlcave soliders with tesla armor(accessible cut content from the game) armed with good weapons as for the boomers i figure a air force defense sim where veritbrids come down with soliders u have to fight The BoS would more likely be along the lines of Operation Anchorage only simming encounters with supermutants and raiders, as well as the nastier critters (I can't imagine the BoS being to concerened with bark scorpians for example?), AND sims against the NCR I would think, stuff they are actually likely to encounter in NV - there is very little Enclave stuff I have come across in NV, a crashed vertibird and enclave robots and even little mention in most mods I use. All content in the game as it stands, The Boomers (if you've played up to encountering them) would be, as mentioned above, flight sims with pre-war combat aircraft and bombers - that is all the Boomers know about and are interested in). I would doubt very much that they have been affected by the Enclave out here,as nobody other than the NCR and BoS would have had to fight them on this side of the counrty, and apart from ground attack sims, I don't think they would really have "We are on the ground being attacked from the air" sims as it just doesn't suit in my mind's eye.. At least that would be my take on it.
