  4. We've had an ordinary guard, an agent of the Blades, the reincarnation of Nerevar, another ordinary citizen, and the Last Dragonborn as the heroes of the past five main games. Any ideas as to what the next hero of the Elder Scrolls should be? Maybe a Shezzarine?

Now that I have the Drop Those Books mod so I wouldn't have to carry around those Black Books in Dragonborn, I was wondering if someone could make a mod that would make the Dwemer lockbox closable and lockable. That way, someone can throw the books... and anything else they want kept locked away... inside and lock them away forever. Like those books and certain Daedric artifacts.

  7. Actually, there is an alternative to the Fighter's Guild quest that you mentioned. When you see that the "goblins" are not attacking you on sight as they normally do, then you can realize that something is wrong... so you can choose to run away from the village. When you reach a certain distance, the sap you drank takes effect again and the quest proceeds.
  8. I'm not so sure that becoming a Daedric Lord's champion necessarily binds you to them. I think it depends on the person... if he truly chooses to be aligned with said Daedra or other deity figure. However, there are ways around that. You can see that for yourself if you complete the Comapnion's questline before the Main Quest. When you get to Sovngard, you'll see Kodlak among the wanderers... so, apparently, even in death, there are ways to escape a Daedric Lord's grasp and go to the afterlife of one's choosing. After I've completed a Daedric quest and the said Daedra calles me its champion, I basically want say to it "Call me what you want. All I did for you was a favor. Now give me the boon so I can forget I ever met you." As for the Dragonborn quest... yeah, it's irksome to have to cooperate with that oversized Japanese porn fetish to save the world again... however, it's all the same to me. I kill Miraak, gather his books, get the boons, drop the books off in Severin Manor (using a mod), leave Solstheim, and never return while telling ol' Herm to go screw himself with his own tentacles. Not to mention, as any Nord will tell you, never forget the most important rule of entering Sovngard: it's now how you live that gets you in... it's how you die.
  9. No, it's from a mod, alright. Because I have the same thing, and the author spelled "altar" wrong. He spelled it "alter".   10. Comparing your list of mods to mine has helped me narrow down the mods that could be causing this bug. And I've tracked it to the Wet and Cold mod.
  11. I was just wandering around Solstheim looking for something to do when I came across a cave called Frossel. I drew my sword and started exploring. It was full of Rieklings, and the remenants of what looked like a previous expedition, but nothing I couldn't handle. However, when I reached the end, I saw something that I don't know if it was an attempt at humor on the part of the developers or not, but it made me laugh and say "You've got to be &%$!ing KIDDING ME!!!" There were a whole gaggle of Rieklings bowing and paying homage to... are you ready for THIS? A HORSE AND CARRIAGE!!!! The "horse" was made up of bones, barrels, and sticks, but it was clearly hitched properly to the carriage. And these little furballs were WORSHIPING it. I just couldn't help it. I laughed almost for a full minute before I finally decided to put these little furlings out of their misery.

  13. Yes, but the dds files are nothing more than a gray square and a transparent one. He never completed the actual texture for the mesh itself.
  14. If you've seen the Chief 01 Zelda Master Sword mod recently, you'll see that Chief 01 made a Hylian Shield mesh that I managed to convert to Skyrim. Unfortunately, my texturing skills are basic at best, and I've never actually made a texture for a mesh before, and all I have is Paint.NET, and Moses has told me that he couldn't make the texture without Photoshop, which is a program he lost when (I'm presuming) his hard drive crashed. So I was wondering if anyone was willing to make the texture for it. I have the mesh ready and Moses' original .psd and .dds files.
  15. I mainly stick with the Imperials because of what happens in the beginning. When I listen to the conversation between Ralof and Lokir, the horse thief, Ralof gives me the impression that the Stormcloaks have a crab mentality. In other words, you get caught with them, you die with them whether your guilty of anything or not. Because Lokir had one good point, they could have said something. I could have been a LOT more sympathetic to the Stormcloaks if any one of them other than Ulfric (because I'll admit, Ulfric had a very good reason) had said four simple kindergarten level words: "He's not with us." Just four little words and it would have given me a whole lot better an impression of them, even if they had no effect. But, nope... the ONLY person in the entire situation that showed the prisoner ANY level of genuine sympathy and human compassion was Hadvar... up until the point when Alduin attacked... THEN Ralof seems to care, but it seems to me that he's just being opportunistic... hoping to escape and get another Stormcloak recruit out of the deal. Hadvar, on the other hand, goes out of his way to help the prisoner escape, even though he could have simply abandoned him when Tullius ordered him to leave. At least, this is how I see it.
  16. I've seen a few resurrection spell mods, but I don't like the idea of the Dragonborn having the power over life and death. That would make him too god-like. So I figured, what about a spell called "Resuscitate" that allows the Dragonborn to revive a fallen NPC, but only within a short time limit after the NPC's death? That way, it wouldn't really be considered a resurrection since (s)he was merely brought back from the brink of death.
  17. Despite our differences of opinion before, I have to agree with you on this one... at least to a degree. I believe that Sheogorath is the Champion of Cyrodiil for three reasons: The first, as mentioned before, the dialog between himself and Pelagius III mentioning that he "was there for that whole sordid affair." (referring to the Oblivion Crisis) The second is that he points out to the Dragonborn that Sheogorath "is a title passed down from me to me." (referring to the events of Shivering Isles) But the third, and most important in my opinion, is a bit more complex, though I'm surprised that it wasn't more obvious to everyone... the quest itself. Essentially, he transports the Dragonborn into the mind of Pelagius III and gives him the Wabbajack so that he can use it to "treat" Pelagius' madness and make him "so boringly sane." Think about that for a moment. Doesn't that go completely against the very idea of being the Daedric Prince of Madness? I mean, he supposed to lead people into madness... or "down the Golden Road"... not cure people, dead or otherwise, of it. Which leads me to believe two things: 1. Given his previous comments, he still retains his memories of his old mortal life. 2. He also still retains at least some of his old mortal moral sensabilities, which could indicate that his perceived madness is either a ruse, or he hasn't gone completely bonkers yet. So, while he is Sheogorath in name, his transformation into him in spirit may not be either complete or even be happening at all. But it seems that he has gained much, if not all of his power. Remember that he has achieved immortality, given that he's still around after 200 years. In that amount of time, it's inconceivable to exactly how much power he has learned or acquired. After all, he was able to transport not only himself but the Dragonborn and a servant into the mind of a "dead, homicidally insane monarch," which clearly suggests god-like power and being able to use it outside the Shivering Isles. Who knows what else he can do. But to get on-topic, as to who is more powerful... I can't really say. Mainly because I never played Morrowind and that the Dragonborn's story isn't really completed yet (at least until Bethesda says that they've released the very last DLC). But if I was to hazard a guess... I'd say it's the Champion, due to his Daedric Prince status... ... at least for now. Who knows? For all we know, Bethesda may make the Dragonborn the next Talos, and then he'll be able to whip anyone. Except, perhaps, another Divine.

  19. I think I've figured out the problem, and it isn't in the script. Well, actually it is, but it can't be helped. I just checked the Creation Kit wiki and I found out this little tibit about the SetGameSettingFloat command, which is in the script: Edits to Game Settings are not saved. While they'll persist across consecutive save loads during the same game session, they'll be wiped when the game closes and will revert to their normal values the next time the game is loaded. One can maintain such edits via a maintenance function, reapplying the changes when necessary. So that explains why the enchantment doesn't work when loading. It looks like I need a maintenance function. Can someone help me with that?
  20. I managed to make an jump enhancing enchantment that uses a script and it works like I want it to, except for one problem. When I start the game from the desktop with the enchanted item equipped, the enchantment won't work unless I unequip and then reequip the item the enchantment is placed on. How can I fix this?

  22. Myself, I try not to judge a people as a whole by the words and actions of a few. Whenever I am tempted to do so, I remember the wise words of Cid in Final Fantasy X after Wakka apologises to him for misjudging the Al Bhed... which can just as easily apply to Tamriel as well as Spira. "There's a lot of people in this world. Some of them good, some of them bad. That's all there is to it." Truer words have been rarely been spoken whether in fantasy or reality.
