  1. Ended up grabbing Rage for $5 and Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon and Walking Dead pack both for $7. already beat TWD on PS3, but ill do it again on PC and probably get the future season solely on PC. slowly but surely im making a full transition to PC

  2. I didn't watch the video so if might be saying this but all you have to do is Go in the WillowEngine.ini file and change one of the Physx lines (i forget which one I know it when I see it) from =0 to either =1 (low) or =2 (high). i set mine to high and it works perfectly. no frame drops what so ever. CPU dependent though an old or crappy CPU won't be able to handle it. no additional software or anything needed.
  3. you're using Stereotypes. as far as I've experienced most people don't even have a mic. I'm loving playing with random. I do kick people of i see then just picking up every piece of loot but that's only happened once or twice. all in all in living BL2 on PC. much better experience then PS3. the only reason I'll play on PS3 now is to copy with my gf who really enjoys the game
  4. Meh, caved and bought BL2, season pass and mecromancer character. Only set me back about $30, so not too bad considering. At the very least it'll be something to play when I feel like shooting stuff. Will have to coax another 12gb from my harddrive though. It'll probably be half the price come the winter sale, but the season pass will probably be discontinued so you'd be paying about the same from the DLC.

There are A LOT of new players on. everyone is purchasing it right now, so there is no shortage of new players to play with if you wanna go online.

  5. i think as far as SSDs go, they are extremely cheap. under $1/Gb right now, well under in some cases.

i for on will include an SSD in every build i make. i have a 128gb, i do plan on putting a bigger one in there, either a 256gb or 480gb or something (also need to get a bigger HDD. my 1TB is almost full). we will see when the time comes, and when i do, my 128 will be going in my parents PC. they use like a total of like 60GB on their drive, so a 128gb will be more then enough.

in fact, that is one of the best places i like it, for builds that dont use a lot of space (such as for the average consumer adult) a simple 128GB sub $100 SSD is perfect for them and all they need. and for anyone else a 128GB as their C: Drive is great, with an HDD for other files. however, where i wouldnt do this is for someone whos not very tech savvy and wouldnt have the know how (or whatever you wanna call it) to make sure they install programs on a partition other then C:. in my parents case, it wont matter because they wont fill it up. on a user where they have a lot of data and would need to put data on a separate drive (such as music and pictures) youd either need to get a bigger SSD (which can then be costly, and not worth it for that user) or just forgo the SSD all together.

  6. yea nothing else im seeing. ive bought most other good games on previous sales, or (in the Case of Sleeping Dogs and Saints Row and a few others) got them as part of a gift like when i bought my GPU or when THQ was going out.

Borderlands 2, plus DLC and some skin packs and stuff, are the only thing ive bought. and im having a blast! i think now that im slowly moving away from Console gaming, ill finally have more time to play all these games ive got haha.,

  7. so i thought of something i would love to see implemented: Duel Wielding. This has many possibilities.

Duel wielding two pistols would be sweet. and with this mechanic you should be able to have an option to hold a pistol with two hands (if your only using one) to improve accuracy and recoil reduction. then later you could unlock Perks or maybe invest enough Skill Points or something were you could duel wield rifles, machine guns, maybe even Miniguns, Fatman(s) and Flamers, etc.

of course this would help the melee mechanic as well. two Super Sledge anyone?...on a side note with melee, there should be a melee attack if you are using a gun, ie pistol whip. and guns could be improved with bayonets of some kind.

with this they could bring in shields as well. items would range from a garbage can lid, to a makeshift one from scraps, up to a Riot Shield (and maybe through a Perk or Skill Points) a Car Door or something. These shields could be used with Melee as normal, but also with pistols (and again, maybe rifles and bigger through Skill Points or Perks). and obviously, youd need a shield bash, cause that would be fun as well....but they could also take shields in two ways, an immersive (realistic) way or a "this is just a game" way. the Immersive way would make something like a garbage can lid be useless against bullets, and only usefull against small melee items like a Nightstick or a 2x4 or something. could even go more in depth in saying that if a Knife executes a Piercing/Stabbing attack,it would puncture the Lid, but a Slashing attack with be deflected. these types of settings could be played around with Hardcore Mode. making Hardcore Mode more realistic beyond just needing to eat and drink more. Then the "this is just a game way" would just deduct some sort of damage from your overall damage taken. instead of really caring whats hitting you, a Garbage Can Lid would always deduct 1 or 2 damage or something from your overall damage taken, even if you were hit my a Missile or something.

but yea, the thought of Duel Wielding in FO4, be it two pistols, two Super Sledges, a Shield and an Armament, or something even more Grand like 2 miniguns, sounds like it would be completely badass!!!

  8. its more of a problem with Boderlands 2. a game designed around loot should have personal loot drops. or at the very very least a gamble/need system like in some MMOs. or have the host get first dibs on purple and up. idk. like i said, mostly it doesnt bother me as most weapons, even a good purple weapon, wont matter for too long. but a unique orange, can be useful for awhile.

im over it. i do like playing with others, even randoms. and something like this probably wont happen much as oranges are freaking rare as hell in BL2.

  9. well i remembered why i dislike playing online. was playing coop (i was host) and we were fighting midge-mong. i killed it and saw it drop an Orange (probably Ker-Blaster, as thats Midge-mongs orange drop) but i only saw it for a brief second before the person i was playing with picked it up. normally idc when people loot steal, as this early in the game it doesnt make too much different. but the one orange i think ive ever gotten from a random drop (not farming, and that includes PC and PS3) someone else picked up. i finally got him to confirm that he did indeed pick up an orange weapon (as i said, he picked it up so fast i wasnt sure. could have just been money)...shortly thereafter he left the game,

this scenario is the one thing i hate about borderlands, and its shared loot. their answer is "did someone ninja steal your loot? duel and trade them for it" yea cause no one does that... and early KerBlaster would have been sweet :'(

  10. this is how i feel about my situation regarding the PS4:

I do want one, and ill get one. if not this Holiday Season, then shortly thereafter in the new year im sure. However, ive come to the realization as of late, that i just dont play my console that much anymore. i play mostly on my PC. i enjoy it better. before i had my Desktop i had a "gaming laptop" and would switch between that and my PS3. but now with my Desktop, that is more comfortable to use and obviously 10x better, ive just sunken deeper into PC gaming. I just bought Boderlands 2 on PC, even after having sunk a few hundred hours into it on PS3 (give or take) and im having a blast. probably more fun that i did on PS3. even having played Borderlands 1 solely on PS3, with enough hours to be up there in most hours ive put into a game, plus Borderlands 2, BL2 still feels more natural to me on PC, even though ive only ever played it on PS3. but its this that makes me realize that im moving away from console gaming.

that said, i still do want a PS4, for a few reasons. 1) Exclusives. Sony/Consoles have some great exclusives, MGS, Ratchet and Clank, Dragons Dogma, and Destiny looks to be great for PS4, and others. 2) Games that are/will be poorly optimized for PC. a game where its recommended you use a game pad to play on PC, is a game ill just buy on console. such as Souls Series games. even if Dark Souls 2 is optimized for PC, its a game that ill probably get on PS4 (if i decide to get it). 3) Games i know ill be playing with friends. Another example where Souls comes in, is i have friends from the original Demons Souls, whom i played with when Dark Souls came out and who ill probably play with when DS2 comes out. There may be a game here and there where i get for both systems, Borderlands is a good example. i do have friends on Console who play it including my gf who likes to play it when shes over. but i enjoy it more on PC. so i would be inclined to get it for both.

so basically as i said im just growing away from console. ill still get it, but im not as hyped as i was even during E3. my excitement has faded since then upon my realization that i just enjoy PC more.

  11. Ya i need a second controller for the pc version, starting from scratch seems like it will take forever to gain all that loot back.

Hey hoof i need your steam ID so we could atleast have some sort of advantage. more players is always better in Borderlands 2.

yea, i really only plan on playing on PC multiplayer. i play on PS3 solo a lot. Steam ID is hoofhearted4 (shocking) anyone on these forums, feel free to add me :)

just bought Borderlands 2 and everything else with it for $25. wooo. probably a dumb idea since im getting kind of bored with it on PS3, but oh wellz to cheap to resist. :P

I was very strongly considering the Season pass, but the problem is that in the 4 months I've had Borderlands 2, I haven't played past the first area. I find the game slightly boring, for some reason.

well the game does get off to a slow start. i mean, if you havent even hit level 5 yet to get your special...but yea, the game kicks off after you hit Sanctuary, and even then the game really kicks off on Playthough 2, much like Demons Souls and kin.

  13. I've posted this elsewhere as FO4 was a recent topic

personally I want a game that's more like FO3 then FONV. FONV sucked IMO. had some good stuff but overall I hated it. I liked the 50s feel of FO3 over the western feel of it.

  14. knowing that Thor ill probably get BL2 on pc as well then we can play on both systems together LOL

also I got the overlord pack on a previous sale. I've only played a couple hours but its fun

  15. just started up. July 11-22.

already tons of great deals i can see. idk how much ill be buying tbh. i have an entire Steam list of games i have bought that i still have to play, not to mention PS3 lol.

but ya, i figured id let all you guys who dont check Steam too often know!! :D

    Happy Savings and Gaming!

  16. after looking into it more, its just not for me. cool unique concept i can see many hardcore RPGers (with the stress on Roleplaying) getting into. i love RPGs. i love Roleplaying a character, but i like RPing a caharacter when its in a game where he gets stronger, like FO3 or DkS, DAO, etc.

this game already made it, and i wouldnt be surprised to see it make its next stretch goal before the end of the 5 days. but its just not for me.
