  1. It sounds like all of Hollywood movies using European history as they see it fitting - well, sure they have no legal problems, but still people will complain about it  That leads to another one - what about fictional cultural sacred icons - like an Alliens movie with lore considered "sacred" to fans and cause them to complain about misusing of that? Maybe it feels more important to some people than the real history. I wonder if you would like https://www.amazon.com/Winnetou-Karl-Friedrich-May/dp/087422179X - european pure fiction about american indians :) my favourite book btw and the source of excitement of many Europeans for American indians :) And I was wondering if Fallout 4 Boston is similar to real Boston and I thought Minutemen were actually quite the same - defenders of settlers? But I guess that was hypothetical. But with mods - so many of them can be considered "offending" to someone, so I guess they just leave it unless it is illegal.
  2. This post made me feel better really :) You know as a modder when some mod is easy when it only unlocks something, because you know what is part of CK already, but I can say now - it is not a mod with a lot of hours in it.
  3. It depends on the franchise - and I know Tolkien mainly. But I know Dune was focused on humans and some families had longer lives and I know about Malazan Book of the Fallen from someone else, but I couldn't read those books myself and it has a lot of humas/semi humans races. And now popular Game of Thrones - does it have some long living humans? I think some people complained that it has mainly humans, so I think there should be some long living nations ;-).
  4. In reality the most difficult for me is learning, in a quest mod - I have to know almost every part of Creation kit if I want to make it complicated and new enough, plus voiceacting and all. But nobody does care, only the result does matter. But what to tell them? I don't know - I was told my race mod was easy because there are no new models. While I was creating every possible detail and was fighting with my first race mod. I told him I will make it better the next time - I just couldn't care enough because I knew I wanted more myself, so I agreed with him - it is not good enough until I will learn how to make a new model. But sure there are examples of hard work which is not obvious, but I don't know what I would tell them in that case - still not my experience.
  5. Of course it doesn't exists. It has so much nonsense all around it - a loophole which makes its existence looks like nonsense and thus contradicts itself. On the other hand who would make a simulation which would have implemented so many years of wasted time not worthy at all for any reason to run a simulation? Also by the existence of so much nonsense it could be a prove that it is not a simulation, because if anybody would make a simulation it wouldn't have so much nonsense inside. It would be more tidy.
  6. Anthem concept vs Dragon Age Inquisition concept. Does it look similar? A castle/headquarters where you have a story, heading outside with companions replaced with players in Anthem to gather materials/ combat enemies... Also I have heard that DA Inquisition was meant to be MMO - I couldn't imagine it before, but after I saw locations of Anthem - it looks similar in some way. Maybe Anthem is something DAI was meant to be originally, but was attempted to revert back to RPG, but never felt like RPG really. Or maybe EA was forcing this model before, but Bioware still wanted to have RPG, but this hybrid didn't work well for fans of Dragon Age franchise, so they are now making a new IP with this lite MMO model? I have to say it makes more sense with other players - I just felt very lonely in DAI even with companions - I really do enjoy this kind of gameplay more with other players - When I'm alone I prefer more of story/quests and living world. On the other hand when I do have it, usually I don't need anyone else to play with me - the problem I always had in those big open world MMOs, esp when they decided to force players to group for some reason. So players were not so far away when they complained about DAI and I still don't get why some people couldn't understand it - there was almost 0 RPG in DAI - 8 hours long main quest and interaction with companions - I guess you will get exactly the same in Anthem, only this time it will not be called true RPG and you will get what you expect. So I feel relieved that I wasn't saying just dirt and complaining for nothing, that it is all starting to make sense now. Also a side note - It was quite funny to hear some youtubers saying that Bioware don't have experience with those kind of games - like multiplayer coop, so on - it is not like there is no Star wars MMO, multiplayer DAI/ME3 ... Like they would be playing DAO only  Multiplayer in DAI was really great - I was playing it a lot.
  7. 1. realistic needs, survival cold 2. all guilds related quests/mechanics - like hunterborn, enterable windows, disguises, bard etc. 3. mods enhancing magic spells in RP way - like you want to specialize to water as a lizard mage, or mods enhancing shouts. 4. some cool unique houses/hideouts 5. all quests related to civil/half civil occupations - like become blacksmith/guard etc 6. also I love those custom funny voiceacted blacksmith/vigilant NPCs, 3d npcs 7. all immersive visual mods - like darker nights, bigger trees, louder storms, etc. All together mods enhancing vanilla short guilds, factions, civil war, because of engine or design decisions - like it cannot be long that way, because we have it already in Skyrim, but for a player it is still too short/shallow.
  8. RPG players as target audience in Fallout 76 :)
  9. Actually when I see Conan Exile problems some players write about, I wish they wouldn't implement mods that much - it looks like open to exploits that much it cannot be repaired, but maybe the reality isn't so serious, but for me an offline version, which would be possible to mod would solve even a lot of problems I have with Fallout 76 and I think some players would even buy for the full price just for the fact it would be fully moddable and without online problems. But that would be too much friendly to certain group of players. And I don't know if it wouldn't bring another bunch of problems.
  10. What is the worst is that they could do pve multiplayer option, right? But a lot of RPG players would actually be OK with that. No, they had to make it PvP only with "play with friends", so it would be clear that RPG players wouldn't be able to play it solo. Those fans of Fallout will loose that part of lore. Also PvP players are known for their aggressivity to others, because they are in direct opposition to others fun, they are very demanding of their type of content. There are many features from many groups, which can be put together, but not PvP really. That means that RPG fans will be constantly attacked for their dislike of this change. And nobody still mentioned price 60 dollars for an empty game... There was so many youtubers raging against EA for their mobile CC game, but tell me how this is different? And everything what you write here will be attacked by Bethesda PR, Bethesda paid modders - where is a question if it wasn't made for situations like this - modders to be on the side of Bethesda or divided. I'm not saying anything about the game itself, only questioning their reasons, which sounded very much like lies - like it couldn't be PVE, because it felt boring, so we had to add PvP and so on... Man is this what Bethesda decided to be? and for what reason? And another thing is - it is done by Bethesda home studio - will they have the time for another game really? If they promised long time content with updates? Or how long it will take if usually it was 4 years? what will be their focus if they do this to Fallout fans? And I get it - they have all the rights for it, but for me it means so many negative things - first of all - when Zenimax started to be greedy the first thought was how it will influence Bethesda, so this is not about them making PVP openworld, but more about what is behind it.
  11. Is there a difference in feelings to lootboxes between America, where I have heard gambling is very limited (but not online casinos) and Europe, where is no limitation, only regulation? Also in the end, as was proven by many games, players do care more about the quality of content rather than monetization, but as anything annoying, it is quite capable of spoiling the game, which is very often underestimated by online companies and actually sometimes even propagated as a strategy by marketing department - so I realized back again - we need not just clever, but also with high standards marketing department people, they are those, who can save the online industry. I know, that is nothing new, but I came back to that again. So many good RPG devs claim, that they didn't have the power to change the course of their game - that sounds really frustrating. And they cannot create their own project, because they need good monetization - they cannot just give it for free, esp. if it is a big project like an online game. But if Bethesda /Zenimax preaches on Universities how lootboxes are the best way how to run an MMO... Is there anyone who can come with a new idea how to do it differently? I just offered my own feeling - what I liked in online games and how I would build on that more. And Pagafyr, you are reallly crazy :) So I'm glad I don't have to feel stupid when I don't understand you :p Also I'm sorry when I will not be able reply to you in the future, child of Earth, no matter how many courses you took :) Also I'm glad that the whole point was actually discussion about online game industry, so I got that right :p
  12. But I still don't see the point of your original post :) e-arcade games means - those games, where you pay to play a session until you die? or mobile games, where you pay for better progress or something. I wouldn't say online industry is changing into that - it was always there? it looks OK for me to pay for servers - they need to pay for online servers, so we pay to be able to play. But what I meant is that there is a better way. What I don't understand is how much it all went down when it comes to cooperation with players. Do you know what was the main reason Andromeda failed? It wasn't that it would be a terrible game. I think it is possible that the main reason why it wasn't success was that EA doesn't understand RPG games, so they trusted Bioware and Bioware for some reason created another copy of Dragon Age inquisition, so when players heard that it is a similar game, they didn't buy it. Because they wrote very nicely all their complains on Bioware forums, but Bioware didn't like how players complained about Dragon age Inquisition and instead of changing their newly formed formula, they went on with it. And I guess that EA expected success - the same they had with launching Dragon Age Inquisition, so they even hired an expensive actress for voice acting. So after it didn't meet their financial expectations, they lost those extra PR money and because they are not expert for RPG games, they simply decided to put it all down. But not only that, with their new online games, they didn't bother with any big investments anymore. And it would be enough if Bioware would be able to create a real RPG game again. And I think that it was somehow connected with Fallout 4 too - Bethesda started to change their formula for some reason to match Bioware new games - or maybe some new trend. And again - when players complained, they are creating a new game, where will be no RPG players asked for. It could be an end to that franchise. Why? And Bethesda PR is prepared for this - with an aggressive PR bashing, Zenimax Online started to be known for. They will not make games better - they will silence anyone complaining about it... Another behavior I saw recently is that the gap between players and devs is bigger and bigger because they think they are something better, they know things players don't, so they think players have no right to say what they wish for. It looks like it is quite popular thinking among some groups. So it looks like the main problem of gaming online industry is that they are not the same as players are, they don't have the same visions, dreams or if they do, the company is so big, it will be never created. And those, who are in charge, are chasing who knows what - most of the time it is not even the most profitable solution, it just looks like created to make some players frustrated. So what is the solution?
  13. They showed some monster fights, but it looks like traditional boss fights. If it would be what I imagine, it would be combined with horror elements, but light - you could seek how to protect yourself during the day and during the night it would be survival - like in Aliens. So I think it will not be there - it was looking like a very classic pvp survival (meaning crafting) open world with hints of quests/discovery. and survival elements similar to what was in Creation club for Skyrim and for free for Fallout 4. So I guess if it should fit into your question - it would be "seeking to survive in the woods wilderness finding no means of help from people in the towns and big cities" And my guess the reality will be - "Seeking to survive after leaving home" There are survival PVE games, which catched my attention, where they used basic needs mainly - like Hobo - living as a homeless or Subnautica - about searching for lost civilization with complicated base building, but those games have huge part of gameplay focused on other features - like deep background informations or minigames, in Hobo also a lot of dialogues, which I'm not sure would be in PvP oriented game. EDIT: also their focus on "play with friends" giving groups a lot of advantages, leaves all solo mechanics pretty much out of spending their time.
  14. My impression was that they will concentrate on PvP more, so my guess would be - no. I would have plenty of ideas for PVE survival online game - adding to the survival mods for the previous Fallout games and adding new - monsters. I would think about inspiration from Jurassic Park Movie with big predators, where the tense was stronger with audio alerts - like big steps, also nights would be more dangerous. The new role would be - more close to nature instincts and skills. Like the possibility to craft more of traps to protect your home, hiding before them and so on. I never played online crafting games with PvP added, which have high numbers of players on steam- like Arc or Rust - it felt like very static and boring game combined with very annoying and frustrating PvP experience, but this survival jungle mod with high AI of animals would be much more interesting for me.
  15. I think I got the metaphor now - the gamblers are children, the golden plate dinner is the winning and you are observing them? Still I cannot say what was the point - if that MMO will be successful - who are mature players? players who don't gamble? because I don't understand people who give XX amount money and get 1 winning price and a lot of nothing - it doesn't seems to me like winning at all. And then they go and enforce that into every other MMO - it looks to me more like poluting and boycotting what others wants rather than anything else. Because if you don't gamble and what you want is locked in gambling - what else it is than poluting your game? And mature players for me are players who can pay for what they want - so I said before - if it could be more like some sandbox, where you can build up your MMO experience - would that be enough of very expensive servers? I don't know. And I don't play Facebook/mobile games, so cannot say anything else about it - I got sick from that - I was playing those games too much, then I got sick, so I had to stop, now only when I look at such games I feel sick :p
  16. There is any point? :) And I was thinking I think too much, but you Pagafyr, you are way over my head - now it is official! But avoiding answering your question so I wouldn't feel like thinking about something, which wasn't even meant to be solved, but still wanting to discuss - what is the point of playing anything online? it is 1. competition, 2. interaction with others 3. living world which never ends. And what is reality? 1. broken pay or cheat to win pvp, 2. text chat would do the trick too, 3. world which never meet your needs because the substance of given media - other players, are always reason for boycotting anything you want, and devs never doing what players want and I don't even know why, then complaining about players leaving their MMO and proclaiming MMO genre doesn't work. And solution? online casino with re**** clicking on buttons together, saying how was clicking better? it does work somehow, no daubt about it - but there is one small question - what was the original purpose of all of that? And all the other problems still existing - is that really solution? or just decadency of all of that?
  17. I felt more or less the same. But I have heard that those devs didn't understand it. So it is a bit confusing for me - how the players experience can be so different from creative experience? I started to imagine how Dragon age Inquisition would looks like online - how Pagafyr said - with players around. If instead of being the head I would be one of those ordinary members gathering inside of that castle and I would see the game from that perspective. Other players would be other agents of Inquisition and your class would determine the part of your gameplay - as a soldier under leadership of Cullen, with quests requiring defending, attacking fortress and so on, or if I would choose a scout gameplay - I would be part of Liliana's Crows with a big questline about her leadership and the same with mages - I would love to play such game. Actually that is SWTOR class quests about - not a main quest, but more of side views of the same world. I think maybe that was the reason why I didn't mind empty NY in Division 1 - that contrast of being alone outside of safehouses, but meeting with others inside - maybe that was the reason why I really liked that half online game. Also about that subscription - I tend to dislike it because or 1.it is used to lock you out of the game, or 2. it is used as a tool for grind, where without it you feel limited. So that is why I prefer sandbox pieces of game customizing what you like - like do you want to add an intro with a class quest - go, buy it, or do you want crafting? Buy it. Or do you want series of RPG quests - like a cook or waitress in a local pub? You could buy it. But still with some general currency you could get for finishing some previous gameblock or buying a whole pack and then customizing what you want.
  18. I'm OK with singleplayer games only around 15-20 hours from small studios. It requires a lot of concentration, because it is stacked with actions, emotions and decisions, so I play it when I can dedicate my time for it. But sometimes I prefer MMO or some easy action game when I don't want to concentrate, only to chill out. So I guess both have their place. I think EA is making mistake by removing them because I think variability is important - like with food - so if they want to have that Origin - I'm not sure who will use it if they will not have enough of their games to choose from - players will go somewhere else when they will want to play some game style which EA doesn't have, so they will not pay monthly. But maybe those sport games fans are enough. I think every time someone tried to make RPG bigger, I don't know when it worked well. Maybe those issues with 2 Bioware games were because of that new engine and because they fell in love with the visual upgrades of that engine and romantic book writing, who knows. But they used the same formula like all the other new RPG games - except Witcher 3, which was very expensive, and smaller mainly European games. I recently bought DLCs for DAI finally, so I tried to play the game again. It felt so static. So I tried to play just portion of it from time to time and I couldn't play it even when I didn't want to play anything complicated, maybe it wasn't the right time for it, but maybe it is because the replayability is not good for those static zones. But even Ubisoft with their really big open worlds, where they try so hard to make it interesting, with quests and so on, some players felt similar feeling. So making a game which will last for long time - how you can do it - is it even possible? Or is it really just because of mods and everchanging game with mods and the possibility to customize it? Because even with different decisions - it doesn't guarantee I will replay the game. And it feels like a bit of waste. Sometimes I wonder - if they would implement more of characters to choose from, maybe I would replay the game, but I cannot remember any game lately, except Bioware, where it was possible? Like even small game 15-20 hours, with different outcomes and faces matching those different classes - they never do it. So I have to play MMOs because 1. I can play different faces and races, 2. because the world is big, and empty, but it doesn't feel empty for some unknown reason (maybe really because of players - they can be that non static component. but the mastery of it was in LOTRO, where it wasn't 1 big combat zone, but a place, where those NPCs really could live) 3. because I can play different classes/civilian occupations. No singleplayer game do it anymore. As so many times said - So many studios copied Ubisoft formula with exploring and camps for action, but why they never copied Bethesda formula with different races/classes - and not just cosmetic, but really quests and different RPG paths to choose from (not just moral)? But as I said - MMOs have their own problems - that they don't try to be custom. Because players will gladly repeat some parts of the game they like - but only those parts. So if it would be possible to choose that and pay for it, maybe it would be better. EDIT - it is really long post - I don't think anyone will read it anyway - I wouldn't :)
  19. It could be like that in a good way - if it would be like episodic sandbox. but I guess they don't want it to be original content, more like repeat the same over and over. On the other hand there are companies which make creating alts in big MMOs painful, but alts are the way of repeating the game over and over, so sometimes it looks to me like the biggest problem of online games is that it could be done in a good way, but they have to be very make it as painful as possible for players, like redemption through suffering. Also all kinds of very negative behavior I saw in gaming industry was in online games and those studios turned even their singleplayer games into lower quality with a lot of painful repeating. Like SWTOR is for me the best RPG MMO - those class quests are without match - all other MMOs said that it would be too expensive to make even more of NPCs for some unknown reason, even those which are not voiced, so it wouldn't be that much expensive, but this MMO for me personally have even higher quality than singleplayer games, only it looks very ugly and it has some other issues :( But the next Bioware games were DAI and Mass Effect Andromeda - the more MMO like games than any Bioware games before and those devs were not even able to see the difference... and they couldn't understand what was the problem of some players. I have my dreamworld of monetizing, where I would pay for features I want to be added and skip those I don't want. Right now it is always like - we don't make this game for you so shut up. But if it would be: variability you could choose from, maybe even like a servis - you would ask for some feature, like you can ask when you buy a flat, and it would be added for you to buy it, if there would be enough of players willing to buy it, but if you wouldn't want it in the game, you wouldn't buy it and it wouldn't bother you. Or something like that.
  20. I missed this post (too long :p) - very interesting analysys. But sadly, it didn't start with Bethesda. it is 4 years already with different AAA games, which left RPG and turned into dungeon crowlers with texts instead of NPCs. Then there was that hateful trend of hard mobs everywhere, so most of the players couldn't even play those games. Then they added (compulsory?) gambling annoying everyone in that game. Only that PvP part is new. Several people have problems in their RL and they want games to relax in a different world, but you have to deal with even bigger crap :(.
  21. If they would say what it is directly, but why they try to half say it is RPG just to attack RPG players for complaining? And their explanations for PvP only...

Sadly there are many people in age of your mother acting strangely. A lot of people couldn't dealt with problems in their life and it is getting on them. It is quite often that young people have to move from their families because of that. But somehow it can make them stronger. When I compare them to people who had happy family, some of them didn't grow up - they didn't have to, some of them are still with their parents and so on. So if you are 20, you are not a prisoner and it is hard to leave, but I think it is better to get a job (like your brother) and move out. I don't know you, I don't know how it will turn out, but you cannot change it and it can drag you down - obviously you have strong family - travelling together and so on, also who know what kind of messed up people you can meet in some job, but the life is too short for this - my thinking. And sorry that this is not the right place for sharing problems - obviously(like the spammer), but what ever - you asked, so here is my opinion . And after moving out, you can start some course, study, just follow your dream, hopefully not a crazy one, so you would be chasing something which would take a lot of time and it would be just waste, just it is good to know what do you want, what can you achieve and just go for it. And you can always visit them back and help them. Because I think you are right - this will never change - but if you can live and be OK, maybe they can see it - big maybe. Well, some people were never able to fix their relationships with their parents, because it was hurting them too much. so I hope you will be OK. EDIT: I keep forgetting there is your passport problem. I have no experience in this, so I don't know how to deal with it - but if the passport is from Netherland - I still cannot think about anything else what could help you - it is strange to call police on your family and you cannot work without it. But if you was born in Kuwait - how hard would be to get their id card? Or maybe try again answer them and explain them that situation - it is more complicated, because it is because of your family - I guess they miss some rule for that case
  23. So I know this thread is a bit about something else, about american groups making everything just worse because of money instead of protecting, but I wish I could freely speak about games, criticize what I don't like about them without their paid PR or without crowd of hateful groups (mostly those, who were responsible for making those MMOs worse), attacking me or others. When I wrote something about certain MMos, some group started attacking me for my opinions, and the games I was playing, the same happened when I said something about Zenimax Online - they have very aggressive PR. And now all the propaganda with paid mods, where they call it drama, just to tear it down. I think before those hateful groups were connected to WOW and I don't know if it is coincidence that after some youtubers didn't like lootcrates in Overwatch, suddenly all games had them. Are there some gaming companies who are independent or why it looks like they do the same - I know that lootcrates are making money somehow, that was the main reason, but so does good marketing and user friendly behaviour ... And ofcourse the game has to be good. And also strange thing is that it is very similar to groups like Gamersgate, who proclaim how they want high quality games and how they are right, but it looks like they are limiting freedom of others and generally they destroy games or features they don't like, but others could like them - so this is far away from freedom... If they are on internet, then freedom is limited. And they are very aware of their strength in numbers. But I know I have a lot of conspiracy theories which didn't happen, but anyway I think this is a big problem in gaming industry now.
  24. Look at that from the other side too - when you leave vault in Fallout 4, you can go everywhere, but is it enough itself? There is no danger, no background info, so the game can feel bland a bit, only at some spots without any background reason is a spawn point of dangerous mobs and there are places overun with mobs where you cannot do anyhting else, any other gameplay, but shoot all of it over and over. In Skyrim when you left that cave you had dragons behind you, you had some mission, but in Fallout 4 everything felt so safe or just annoying. And that doesn't have gameplay variability - like a problem and how to solve it kind of choices. But to make variability I think you have to make some walls - and dangerour areas can be such psychological wall. Also in FNV when you feel danger, you can also feel immersion. It doesn't encourage exploration, but the game wasn't really exploration kind of game - it was more about choices and multiple playthrough. So there is no reason to go to dangerous areas, because in reality you wouldn't go there too, but it is there ready for choices made and then you can go there - it feels similar to Morrowind. And I know a player who went north from Goodspring and he had a good fun trying to sneak past dangerous territory, just to get right to the city and it was great that it was possible. I don't know if you could do quests there, but he got his the best guns there and returned to Goodspring. So yes, it was a bit linear, but because there was logic behind it, it can add something to the gameplay, while some open world (the latest Bethesda openworld) can feel bland sometimes, without point and reason to go anywhere, because the world doeesn't have inner logic. And because FNV wasn't really open world, it was more like story road to New Vegas with a few stop in between, so it is hard to criticize the game for something which is the main layout, but it felt for me like they got the maximum out of it. And in that linear way with choices it was more similar to the old Fallout games. But I know players who had fun with FNV who arn't RPG players, who don't care about choices and who like to shoot mobs over and over, so I don't know what they liked about FNV. And I don't even know if it would be possible if this would be part of Bethesda open world, but for sure players would like to have somehting similar to it - like Morrowind.

People can do nasty things because of fear. Sometimes even destroy everything. So if he is not your mother or father, is he your uncle? What is he afraid of? That you will be influenced by something or harmed? Or that you would will go ask for help? That person is messed up and he has messed up life if he couldn't go back to Kuwait and he had to move around, but doing so with kids which are not his own? And it looks like you are cut off the rest of your family too. Or he is protecting you from them? That would explain the fear, but not the behaviour to you. But if it is because of religion (I meant some dangerous oranization behind), then it can be dangerous. Maybe he did something bad, something he doesn't share with you and he is aggressive because he is in stress, but he himself should know this cannot last long even for him. But if he is not your relative, then maybe he doesn't have to care. I think if embassy wouldn't help you, atleast they should know the country and point you at some direction. Also they should be independent. Maybe that way they wouldn't have to believe you if you will ask for informations, explaining your situation. and maybe then they could offer you some help. But it is hard to give advices - everything can go wrong, or the opposite. In my country we have special state organization taking care of messed up families. They are better than police because they don't try to arrest or make guilty anyone, they have more psychological approach and they keep privacy. I don't know how it is in Kuwait. Or maybe if your older brother would try to be independent, separate himself from this mess and take you with him, but I guess you could be in danger because of that messed up person, so still you would need some bigger help. Or if that person has some reasons why he is doing this - not just that he is bad, maybe you could explain to him you will be better with your brother, because this way he is trying hard to hold everything, everything will be destroyed sooner or later this way, so he will have less things to worry about with less kids. And if he is affraid of Kuwait maybe he could let you go travel outside - but maybe that is a big fantasy. Also question is if you would be fine abroad just on your own if in Kuwait your brother has a job.
