  1. RESOLVED - too many animations in the load. I knocked them out and the cells loaded fine. Thanks anyway! My Creation Kit has been working fine for ages. Today I was going the the tutorial and loaded up AnisesCabin01 in the render window and I got a complete CTD. I tried a few other objects - same result. Interior renders CTD. Exterior renders load without a problem. Here is the DMP report Sadly I have no idea what any of this is telling me. Please might an expert give me any indicators where they think I should be looking to put this right? I run MO2 on Win 10 home. Game is away from the C drive, and AVG antivirus is cleared for the game folders. Many thanks for any hints! (PS I have already copied a back-up CK over into the games folder in case the main one was stuffed).
  2. Jinxxed0 Thank you! Reporting your experience helped me sort my Creation Kit Render Window crash. The reason was exactly the same. Too many animations! It only affected interior cells for me.
  3. Thanks! Interesting. Not sure how I can turn that into a bandit dirt mod... I'll have to think about that. Many thanks for your time and help!
  4. Thank you. You don't happen to recall the name / part of the name? I searched both SSE and LE and did not find anything. But then the search function is a bit weak.
  5. Is there any easy way for me to add dirt to the skin of Bandits? they are just too....clean. Thank you!
  6. Hmm. You might be interested to know WIndows Update blew up my NVidia Drivers a few days ago. First I noticed was when my Assassin's Creed Odyssey HDR went kaput and I got a bleached screen. Now, I don't use cheap HDR, this is 512 FALD. I reloaded my NVidia drivers and solved that. But you can imaging how I felt for those brief seconds wondering if my Rog Swift screen had blown... I am not happy with the way Windows disrespects peoples' works. And I really feel for you having your stuff damaged. Do you feel that hackers are trying to use Skyrim files to get into systems? I keep a very tightly controlled PC environment, but I sometimes wonder..... Love your 'litter box'!
  7. Oh yes, I saw that. Thank you. In all my years I have never had a game disintegrate like mine did. Which is why I asked my question on the forum. I had to re-validate my game files through Steam three times to get it stable again before re-adding mods. That my game needed to be stripped back to 'ground zero' before it would work says a lot to me. After all I have been playing this stuff since early Oblivion days! I am in agreement with you. Thanks. I'll bear this in mind. Well, thanks. An interesting discussion! Let's leave it there.
  8. Hmmm. I know this sounds odd, but I have read about hacking done using Nifs and apps around them. Not for access to the PC, but for cracking Skyrim and its tools. I did a deep anti-virus scan on my PC, but nothing came up. I have to say it was one of the things that occurred to me because my game was as stable as concrete, yet it literally fell apart in front of me. Interestingly, <N£$%^"""cv3 > was one of the apps mentioned in the hacking stuff.... Does this kind of make sense to you with what you experienced? What I experienced? Are we on the same idea? I'd be curious.
  9. Thank you, Purr4me! And thanks for the guides in your list there! It's a while since I saw those; good memory refresh. Run time type info in a list like that is pretty obscure for me as I'm a player not a modder. And it's a long time since I did any C++ :geek: If you have time to explain further the RTTI above, I'd love to learn more! I pinned down the fault to an HDT-SMP hair mod that must have corrupted, probably interacting along with something else. I've been using this mod set up without issue for nearly 1.5 years. I had no DMP file to work on with this. Which didn't help. Rebuild & testing underway...
  10. Please can a bright spark point me in the direction of where things are going wrong? Netframework log: I've been through everything and I am now down to the base game without SKSE or anything. I've validated files, used my backup default vanilla files, replaced the EXE, removed my ENB and done everything I would normally do to trace this fault. Where is this BSMultiStreamInstanceTriShape(Name: null) coming from and what is it doing?!! Is it the fault? I have literally removed every mesh short of the tested game files with no success. I have never had this level of weirdness before! In hope thanks!
  11. I'm sorry no-one's got back to you. That's probably because the list doesn't show any horrors (at least not to me). If the game crashed as you round the dirt cliff and the Riverwood gate comes into view, that was always a notorious crashing point for over-loaded games. Maybe try LOOT separately form Vortex and see if you get a different load order. Also, use SSEedit to load up the mods and check for conflicts. Not sure what WACCF Bashed Patch Fix is.... I always used Wrye Bash plain and simple for my Bashd Patch. Good luck.
  12. First up, I had a similar problem back in 2017. A solution provided by someone was: "EDIT: got it! Its a combination of TAA and SharpScale in DoF or LumaSharpen. Either way TAA+sharpen = flickering. Replace TAA with FXAA or disable SharpScale under Depth of Field settings (ENB settings). Thats it." From: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/5632567-screen-flicker/ You can see I failed to follow this up - which was pretty dumb of me. Also a Reddit discussion: https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/5cwggb/any_fix_for_the_flickering_shadows_when_you_move/ If none of this applies, then at a guess, it could be refresh rate vs framerate. Do you have your FPS capped at 60? With my 21:9 I usually set my Nvidia Gsync to "Use the 3D application" so that the game selects the refresh rate. (I don't know the Freesync set up). I play with my FPS capped at 60-63. I allow my ENB to cap the FPS, and my Nvidia software to handle the Vsync. These are switched off in the game INI files. Is that an HDR screen? Edge lighting or FALD settings may be contributing to the problem, though I doubt it. Just a thought. Aside from that, another thing is Ambient Occlusion - fiddle with those values in case that is being processed oddly. Well, there are some ideas for you. They may be rubbish! :geek: Good luck.
  13. I've been playing Skyrim SE for ages and I never noticed I could update form version in SSEEdit! Well I never. I usually use the Creation Kit method. Thanks for pointing this out. My only observation is that updating should be fine (I believe it is a small structural change to allow more ESP fields Bethesda added). But I would avoid changing any of the main original game files. Some of them show much older Form versions and I would not want to fiddle with them.
  14. Idlesalute / hug / kiss I love the vanilla idle "idlesalute" in which the NPC taps their chest with a fist while bowing head. However, I struggle trying to switch on my PC let alone mod. What I'd love to see is a mod that achieves this: Idle Salute Once Thane of a community, the guards will salute you with this animation. Conditions: guard positive relationship/faction, once a day per guard (otherwise it will get irritating). Perhaps only those standing in position, to reduce stress on the system. Followers in the Dragonborn's party, from 0 up to level 3 of relationship (makes no sense for a lover to do it). Conditions: once a day, like in the morning, or when first greeting. Friends and lovers Lovers, an automatic hug (I believe that's also a vanilla animation) on greeting. Conditions: after getting out of bed, on meeting after 3-4 in-game hours separate, and 2-3 other times in a day. Force 3rd person camera on start as an optional switch. Perhaps also triggered by proximity? (If that is possible?) Lovers a quick kiss as above (the Dovahkiss, whlist fantastic, is sooo long.) But it would have to be a rough and ready kiss, knowing placement / height can be a problem. MF / FF / (and MM possible for those who desire it) I'm aware there are other mods that cover this area but they are either menu/dialogue initiated, or part of a bigger animation play-out. I would like to see something that is proximity-fired, or if not possible hot-keyed. The problem is scripting these as (despite trying) I can't get the hang of it. It would be good to have an MCM to allow some adjustments of greetings to suit player needs. If proximity does not work, maybe wearing a ring or a semi-permanent spell? If I may park this here as an idea? Thanks.
  15. Have you organised your load order with LOOT? Worth a try first. Load order looks a bit messy. I can spot a number of mods that really should load late, like Relationship Dialogue Overhaul. Have you considered using JK's Skyrim rather than the individual city mods? Try running the game without Riverwood Keep; it is possible that is causing issues in the area. And I notice you have a Bells patch for JK's Skyrim, a mod you currently don't have. By the way, try Shizof's Storm Lightning. He wrote it as a successor to Minty's lightning mod and it's awesome. If you have SSEEdit, best option is to run your load order through that and use the conflict manager to spot any big problems.
  16. Looks like you are not the only one who can't find her, looking at the mod comments. Best ask on the mod itself rather than here, I guess. Try opening the console and typing help alina 4 That should return her current NPC number. Then type player.placeatme xxxxxxxx what ever the number for her is. If she arrives by your side (usually behind you) then you know she's at least working. By the way, best not to keep the save you do that in.
  17. As an Oculus user I can reassure you the two follower mods should work, although I have not used my Rift for ages due to eyesight issues. (Must get back to using it!). I had quite a good band of followers in my VR game, and I recall Recorder working fine. There is nothing in the two mods that makes any difference from PC to VR. So, there is something else causing the issue. Is the mod list above the load order you use? If not, run LOOT over it, and put your followers close to the end, just before XPMSE. And check the follower bodies will work with CBP. Recorder has a couple of excellent patch updates. Does Recorder's Horse show up outside the Sleeping Giant Inn? If not, then I'd look at your NMM install. I prefer Mod Organizer 2 - way easier to use. Good luck.
  18. Thank you. I'd go with that idea, but for the fact I can switch off the game and restart it, and have the same problem. And in hundreds of aborted start ups (you know how it is... ) I have never had this happen! It pongs of some interference from a mod somewhere.
  19. Here's a weird event for you troubleshooters! I'm following Hadvar into Riverwood (as usual...) and he says: "There's my uncle!" before walking on through the village. And on. And on. And...on. Into the distance. :ermm: WTF? I retried the scene a few times and then sent myself (via console) to wherever Alvor is lurking. I found him on the road above Honningbrew Meadery. I know he likes a drink but... So I try the meeting again and let Hadvar go down the road into the sunset. I waited, and eventually the two of them wander nonchalantly in on the Whiterun road, and go into Alvor's house for that scene to continue as normal. Like many of us, over the years I've modded my game to exploding levels. So these days my play-throughs use mods I have tried and tested many times. You can imagine my surprise when this basic event failed. I revalidated my game files and looked for any conflicts, done all the usual. Nothing that would affect the meeting shows up. Everything else is working fine. Has anyone any ideas what is going on? I'm guessing a mod is somehow altering the quest line but, since most of my mods are known to me, I can't think which one. Thanks!
  20. Thanks! I currently run Windows off an SSD for my C drive with good results. My main storage is a traditional platter, though 5200rpm. I tend to have an array of SSDs as my other drives with games on. Chrome? It's just which browser you want pre-loaded, that's all. It's not a costed item and I could leave it off if I wanted. I can't really get on with Firefox or Edge though Firefox is probably the best. Thanks for the feedback!
  21. I'm aiming to buy myself a new gaming rig. I'm an Intel and Nvidia guy, and the spec in the spoiler below is intended to be wrapped around my existing Gigabyte Nvidia 2080 o/c 8GBVram card. (Just before you haul me out on a missing card  ) I want to burn Skyrim SSE at full 4K where possible, loaded with mods, and not have CPU bottlenecking, etc. Now before you guys and ladies say it, I know the Bugthesda engine is optimal at self destruction so the game will do all it can to wreck the concept, there is that and let's just leave it there. I play other games like Assassin's Creed (odyssey, etc) and want to run HDR on those. The Soundblaster card is to try and get away from the appalling Realtek bugfest that runs Windows onboard sound. Obviously the PC meets other needs I have, too. I've already got a couple of SSD drives to plug in the case from my current set up. Please take a look at the specifications in the spoiler. I'd love to hear if this seems good PC set up. Please don't pry me away to AMD or other stuff. I'm not going back to that. Have myself some scar tissue over that stuff. I'd also like to know any opinions on a really hot 4K 21:9 screen, too. Being an older guy, this is likely to be my last PC so I want to go out in a blaze of glory (so to speak). Thanks! Spec:
  22. Quick question for the experts! I'm happily adding some weight painting to a skirt in a project, I save the project, go and Bodyslide the result. Check in game - need more adjustment... But next time I open the project, the weights are totally different, and my work is lost :ermm: I've tried "Copy bone weights" and saved, but I am clearly missing a step. I had assumed I just painted my weights and saved the project. Please can someone put me right? A quick Google seems to concentrate on everything except the save part! Thank you!
  23. Please can a modding expert settle my mind? Skyrim LE had a game save string limit of @65,500 strings, after which things started to go wrong in game saves. Some people say Skyrim SE has resolved this, some people say it is not resolved. So what's the situation, please? I'm currently hitting 61,226 strings in my save. Am I to be doomed as the game progresses? :geek: Thank you!
