Sorry, Wee, I was wrong, I had my Search sorting inverted. The latest HGEC High-Rez textures is 4.4e, I assume that's what you have. But yes, most of the beauty mods you have are outdated. The current trend is installing either Oblivion Character Overhaul v2.3 for a realistic, not "cute", look on NPCs, and then the Seamless packs for your head and face settings. Let's say you don't want to use OCO, but stick to Ren's Beauty Pack: Get rid of the High-Rez textures. They are not Seamless-Mended. Be sure you have your base HGEC Body Replacer installed, with the Stock Clothing and Armor installed too. Go to the Seamless Equipment Repository and read thoroughly it. Once you have read it, select the adequate Packs for your setting (You need, for Ren's Beauty Pack, the Vanilla and Classics Edition of the Seamless Heads Series). Follow Movomo's and Jukacc's instructions and guidelines. Forget about using any other texture replacer that does not comes with the "Seamless" prefix in its name. Even with the Seamless Series, ALWAYS follow my advice about the Reset Face and the Tone Sliders when in Chargen. Cheers!

I told you, Striker, take a gasoline shower so I will not detect you five kilometers afar with your Patchouli. Wee, when creating your character, the first thing you need to do in order to minimise the neck seam is to go to the Face tab of Chargen, and hit the Reset Face button. Then, use only the Shape sliders and the Age and Complexion ones. Do not even think about using the Tone sliders, they will create an outstanding neck seam. Which version of the High Rez skins are you using? The newer version is the one listed THE LAST when using the Search box at the Mods site. And even with the latest version, if you pay attention to the pictures you will see there is a neck seam in them, minimised because Ozmo knew about the Tone sliders and he used HDR lightning when taking the screenshots. Striker means that, BEFORE hitting Update Now, you need to hit the Reset BSA Timestamps button, and THEN the Update Now button. But yours is not an Archive Invalidation issue. The image you posted is too small to see anything, but judging from what is barely visible there and the fact you use Mystic Elves and Ren's Beauty Pack, what you have is simply the Neck Seam. Your cosmetic mods are way too old and from the era when even thinking about diminishing the Neck Seam was untinkable. Worse than, you are using mismatched body (the tattooed skin) and head textures. Most likely the head textures does not come from the same pack as the body texture. If you don't want to switch to Oblivion Character Overhaul v2.3 (which will render Mystic Elves and Ren's Beauty Pack unusable) and/or the Seamless Series, look for "Neck Seam" in the Search box at the Nexus Oblivion Mods site. Lupis, what I meant was, if you try using a Virtual Machine with XP installed, Oblivion will not work in that VM. And you having a chipset and not an actual video card explains your quite poor video capabilities in-game, and the fact that even my (well, brother in law) turnip of a laptop can handle better graphics than yours. Striker, now I am too confused, but the fact is, according to Mighty Google, if installing C++ does not fix this missing dll thing, DirectDX 9c should do. But I'm starting to feel tired, and having to breath through a gas mask is not improving my lucidity. Cheers!

Unfortunately, if you don't solve this DirectDX 9 issue, you will later find it popping again with other mods. The actual issue here is that Oblivion was created for Windows XP and no matter what publicity says, it never was good friends with Vista and later versions of Windows. Hell, even with XP itself more often than once they were (are) catfighting. Cheers!

Lupins, that's not possible. The link Striker provided (the same one I provided later) gets you the full DirectX runtime offline installer (95,6 MB), not the web installer. Something is wrong here. Cheers!

Lupis, I think the non-web installer is THIS, but not sure. Right now I am on a Linux machine (my brother-in-law recovered his laptop and will not give it back to me til tomorroe). I am an hardcore DW fan, but the gas mask was totally unrelated to your comment. It was just a happy co-incidende. No, Striker, Ryan never recovered from that incident. While outside the TARDIS he always behaved as usual, that is, pickpocketing me, letting me getting killed in a dungeon while he ate popcorn and flirted with any enemy that came close to him, but as soon as we enter the TARDIS, he gets stuck at my side, never walking more than two meters away. *me wears a WWI gas mask* I discovered recently that the lower the in-game resolution, the highest the video settings on my machine I can have with better performance. I currently run at 800x600 and look at how amazing screencaps I can take (using Alenet's AA injector, of course). However, I had to get used to low fps and constant stuttering, and yes, there are lots of appetitous mods I simply cannot use. *me turns is gas-mask-covered face to Lupis' fiancee and with a monotonous, lifeless voice, mutters:* Are you my Mummy? Yep, but Windows XP has no UAC issues and yet I still have the missing dll file warning if using the latest version of the CSE, but not if I use the previous ones. But that's something clever, Striker. Perhaps knowing more about that Frankenstein creature of a computer Lupis has, we could trace back the issue. Cheers!

That's bad. The only thing I can think about is you did not install all the requirements the ReadMe and Striker told you, or you did not grab the correct packages. Just to be sure, you must download them from the Microsoft Downloads site and nowhere else. Other than checking you actually met the requierements, I'm out of ideas here. My Construction Set Extender v6.1 still works flawlessly, v6.3 tells me the same about the missing dll file. I'm afraid you need to refer to the Construction Set page. Sorry. We've failed you. Hey dudes! I'm in a hurry but have read all your reports here. Lupis, I mentioned in one of my early posts here that the newest version of the CSE gave me troubles, one of them crashing to desktop, and the other the same missing dll message you have. Try installing the previous version 6.2, though the one I have is 6.1, and hope it will fix the issue. I should report these issues at the CSE thread. See you later! Cheers!

Good idea installing outside ProgramFIles. However, if you have CCleaner, BEFORE reinstalling run the Cleaner and the Registry Cleaner too, this second one until no more Registry errors are shown. Cheers!
