  1. Lupicatalaum... yup, wrong version. How did you got this outdated page on your browser? The Nexus search engine no longer gives it when using... oh. Oh. You used "CSE" as the search word instead of the "Construction Set Extender". The latest version is THIS. About the installation, yes, you must take all the loose files AND the Data folder the package contains, and put them inside your main Oblivion folder. But for future mod installations, do not follow the "I just simply put everything here or there". Read the readme and follow the installation instructions. Cheers! :ninja:
  2. Lupicatalum, there's a manual in the package. Once you have installed the CSE, it's located inside your Oblivion\Data\Docs\Construction Set Extender folder. I have unpacked the latest version zip file and it's definitely there, as well as in my own game directory. How did you install it? Cheers!
  3. Doublepost because ninjaed again: What? There's such thing as a Construction Set Extender Manual.pdf? How many years have I been working with this thing unknowingly there was a manual right under my nose???? Cheers!
  4. Once installed, the Construction Set Extended should open by default with the usual panels arragement as the vanilla CS, that is, the Object Window, the Render Window, the Cell View, with two additional floating panels, the Console and the Auxiliary window. Once you have loaden a mod, if the welcome screen is the Landscape Editor, simply turn it off (upper icon row, tenth icon from the left). The usage is exactly the same as the vanilla CS. Some of the more advanced functions are covered in the Construction Set Wiki, but as for now, you can continue working with it as usual, with the benefit that you can now use other esps as masters for your mod. Cheers!
  5. RIght between the eyes. Remember, headshots give double points. Tell us how it comes. Cheers!
  6. Your CS crash constantly when editing faces or saving? Oh, old memories of my pre-CSE times you bring! You DO need the CSE. Cheers! PS: if using the Seamless Bodies, Faces and Equipment, DO NOT SET THE AGE SLIDER ALL THE WAY DOWN TO 15. Leave it at 16 or the game engine will fail to apply the correct agemaps.
  7. Doublepost to counter-attack Striker's ninjapost: yep, sorry, I meant the Construction Set Extender, but yes, the CSE requires OBSE to be already installed and running. Cheers!
  8. Be careful about OBSE installation. You must follow to the letter the instructions, especially if you are under Steam. By the way, the latest version of the CSE made mi CS crash on startup. If you find out that yours too, revert to the previous version, but first, try with the latest one (don't forgot to install the requirements even if you have newer versions of the NET framework or whatever made my CS crash on startup. I simply did not want the hassle to install more dependencies, since the previous version worked great for me). Cheers!
  9. Or just do the other suggestion Striker pointed: install the Oblivion Script Extender and you won't need to go espifying and despifying and desmifying things. Life will be lots easier for you. Oops, new reply, let's see... Cheers! EDIT: you wanted a mentor? Congrats! You just got TWO!
  10. Contrary to Striker, I was thinking Blades felt so comfortable in the Realms of Oblivion that he sent Mehrunes Dagon threat to the hell, stroke a coup d'etat in one of these Realms and was living happily ever after ruling it as a ruthless and tyrannical dictator. Blades, one thing, if you're unsure about which stage of your current quests are you, use the console command getstage.(quest FormId) and be sure not to mistake it for setstage.(quest FormId). getstage is a fairly harmless command, since all it does is telling you which is your current stage for the quest you asked, but setstage forces a Quest Level Advance and can break your game. Some of my reinstalls were caused because I too happily used setstage. Cheers!
  11. Toldya, Raedwald. I bow before you, Master. ... I'm going right now to have a conversation, from woman to woman, with Umbra about a certain Bandit Melee... Cheers!
  12. Just for one minute, Raedwald, I had a good master in the art of ninja-posting :ninja: Cheers!
  13. Katfan, before switching to LOOT, you need to know that there's a Masterlist update service available at the Nexus for BOSS, read the Description and you will know why it's not recommended to use LOOT for Oblivion (the same reason it's not recommended using NMM for Oblivion... it's a too old game). However, do not blindly rely on BOSS to sort your Load Order. Sometimes, BOSS will put mods after the Bashed Patch, and only mods that explicitly state in their Description or Readme that they need to be loaded after the Bashed Patch must be put there. Moreover, BOSS always put other mods after Oblivion Character Overhaul v2.3, and unless you have a properly set up Bashed Patch, NO OTHER MODS must be loaded after OCO. You need to learn how to manage your load order manually even when using BOSS or LOOT. I personally do not use any of them because installing ONE mod at a time and testing it before adding another is all what I need to know how to set my load order. Cheers!
  14. Yep, there are. The largest one is the Middle Earth Heightmap. Just the terrain and bodies of water, nothing else, not even vegetation. It's BIG, believe me. If you prefer something smaller, look for any of the MooCow Islands, for instance the Mehrune's Wake Landscape is my favourite, an entire arxipelago for you to populate. In two versions, with or without vegetation. Cheers!
  15. Oh, I forgot to mention... Which version of the game do you got? Retail disc or Steam? It's of *finger quotes* "capital" importance, too. Cheers!
  16. Hey, Boutte! Welcome to the Oblivion community, great things and lots of joy and good time are here for you. First thing I want to leave clear, Oblivion Mod Manager cannot download mods for you. You need to download them manually. It's true, Nexus Mod Manager doesn't play well with such and old game as Oblivion. That does not mean you "cannot" use NMM for Oblivion. There are a few (very few) mods that are NMM-compatible. Always read the Description Page for a mod and if it explicitly states that it is compatible with NMM-Nexus Mod Manager, use the Big Green Button. But if it does not make any mention at all to NMM, do not use the Big Green Button, download manually and follow the installation instructions. Usually, Oblivion mods state in the Description if they are intended for a particular Mod Manager, or only manual installation compatible. Follow always the mod author recommendations and when in doubt, first read some pages of the Comments Page for that mod, and don't hesitate to ask what you find unclear. DO NOT IMPROVISE. If you don't know what you're about to do, don't do it. I will use capital letters for the following sentence not because I am a pedantic (indeed I am, but that's another story) but because it's a matter of "capital" importance: MODDING OBLIVION IS NOT LIKE MODDING SKYRIM. You can be an accomplished Skyrim player, used to mod it and with a vast knowledge of the secrets of Skyrim modding, but if you have never modded Oblivion, you know nothing, Jon Snow. They are two completely separate worlds. Before we start to give you a list of mods to install, it's advisable you know the basics of modding Oblivion. There are two ways to install a mod: Manual Install. Manager Install. Manager Install comprises the Mod Managers. You have discovered already that Nexus Mod Manager is not at all as convenient as with Skyrim. Mod Organizer is even less advisable, since Oblivion does not like the different "profiles" MO spreads the mods into. If you want to have different Player Profiles for your game, you need a dedicate Profile Manager like mTES4 Manager or MO Manager. The only two advisable, and in fact imprescindible, Mod Managers for Oblivion are Oblivion Mod Manager and Wrye Bash. OBMM is the basic tool for installation, management and uninstallation of mods. It only can install, by itself, mods packaged in omod format, but it can create omods from mods not packaged as them. It also handles flawlessly the imprescindible Archive Invalidation. Wrye Bash is THE Mod Manager. It's a real Swiss Army Knife for Oblivion Modding. Not only it does the same as OBMM, it has lots of extra features you could need. Like the Bashed Patch. My recommendation is: install both and use OBMM for omod installation and basic management, and WB for advanced management. Wrye Bash can install some omod-packed files, but not all. And is required to install mods packed as a BAIN installer. None of them can download the mods for you. You need to download manually. Blockhead is an OBSE plugin that overrides the game engine limitation of having one only Head mesh for both genders, and only one set of Body meshes for all the races. With it, you can use separate Head meshes por men and women, and different Body meshes for each race. You even can use different Head and Body meshes for each NPC independently of their race and gender. I think this is the proper thread to talk about your migration from Skyrim to Oblivion, no need to move it to Troubleshooting unless you feel it would be right. Don't hesitate to ask anything, we will do our best to assist you. Yep, the learning curve for Oblivion Modding is higher than you expected. But once you catch the basics, it slows down greatly. Cheers!
  17. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh! What a cuddly thing! Helloooooooooooo, Groucho!!! *Tries to pat Groucho. Gets bitten in the nose* YOU DARE, YOU NASTY SURFACE THING! *Eel-kisses Groucho. Gets kicked in the groin* gggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh *Falls to the ground. Cries a lot. Groucho heehaws sarcastically*
  18. Thanks Bess. I appreciate that. I figure it's the least I can do when people spend the time to type in lengthy help, especially when it works! I'm a happy camper now that I have the place fixed up so perfect. I can also speak for Lucy, Gloria, Hamlet, Bruse, Benjamin, Douglas, Bob, Chico, Groucho, Alice, Red Rose Josie, Red Rose Ruby, and the chickens who can all relax now and concentrate on eating the flowers and I can move on to other stuff. Man, that's priceless, I love the names of your cattle. Cheers! /me keeps lurking in the shadows
  19. Striker, most likely because BOSS shorted it this way. What about the other two? I don't recall Alenet saying his esp must be after the Bashed Patch. The other I dunno. Unless explicitly stated in the mod's instructions, a mod NEVER must be loaded after the bashed patch, no matter what BOSS says. Cheers!
  20. Yep, if you create a savegame clean of the house mod (that is, load the savegame with the house mod disabled, save, exit the game, load this new savegame -the "This game relies on content that is no longer present" message will pop up-, save again, and then use this last savegame to restart the mod) all will be well. If you skip the "This game relies on..." part, it could work and it could not work, nobody knows for sure. Cheers!
  21. Hey, GTA! If you mean the map marker in your in-game map, and the message "You've found that location" or "Location name" that appear when you are close to the house, it's easy, just open the exterior cell where the house is located, in the list of items this cell contains locate the Map Marker, double click it (in the list) to center the render window on it, then double-click it in the render window and edit the details. Map Markers are persistent references, so if you have already discovered it, most likely the changes will not appear inmmediately in your current savegame. I think. Cheers!
  22. Upper menu bar - World - Weather - Fog Cheers!
  23. Me. Didn't you find unusual for me being so silent here (you knew I was prying, of course). I knew Chambs was in good hands. Cheers!
  24. Neither did here. Nor using my original method of replacing the "father" egt files. That's something strange. I will try with a new game, since Oblivion is notorious for loading data from the savegame instead of the active mods, especially with animations and quest data. Cheers!
  25. Llelos, if you look downwards starting from the initial post in this thread, or upwards starting from your first post in this thread, you will see that the solution had already been given here. More than two years ago. Cheers!
