Apart from ENB, which other mods do you have installed and active? Does this happens only in Bruma? And which version of the game you got? Disc or Steam? Cheers!
-
When you download manually any mod, what you need to do is to unpack it to a temporary location, for instance your Desktop. Do not unpack it directly to your Oblivion game folder nor any other location inside C:\ProgramFiles (in fact, consider moving your Oblivion installation outside C:\ProgramFiles). Once you have the mod unpacked, look inside the folder and locate and open the file called ReadMe. There are the instructions for manual installation (usually, some mods have very vague installation instructions). So we can give you a practical example, tell us which mod are you trying to install right now, we will take a look at its folder structure, and tell you exactly how to manually install it. Be aware that mods packed as omod or bain files cannot be installed manually. For Oblivion, I strongly suggest you to stop using Nexus Mod Manager. Your problem is fairly common. NMM does not work well with old games like Oblivion. Download manually and learn how to use Oblivion Mod Manager and Wrye Bash to install and manage Oblivion mods. Cheers! PD: Never skip the "open and read the ReadMe file". Never. Seriously.

Hey, Calfurius! "Great Oblivion mods" is a quite subjective matter. And since you have a medium end computer, the spectre of choices is a little bit diminished. I don't know if you will be able to run them, but the first two things you should try are Qarls Texture Pack Redimized and Oblivion Reloaded. If you read about the marvels of OBGE and ENBs, you better forget them, the first is obsolete and has been superseded by Oblivion Reloaded, and the second is very resources demanding. Oblivion Reloaded is, too. Now, to de-uglify the potatohead characters, which direction go your tastes? For a lore-friendly, realistic looking characters, the Must Have is Oblivion Character Overhaul v2.3. Then we have the Body Replacers. There are so many different body replacers out there that my recommendation is simply grab ALL OF THEM and use them at once. For that, you need the SetBody Reloaded. It includes all of them and the ability to change between any of them in a per-character basis. It's a quite sophisticated mod, and quite new, so if you feel overwhelmed by its characteristics, simply grab Robert2 Male Body Replacer, Robert2 Female Body Replacer, or any of the HGEC variants (grab the EVE HGEC Variants edition). Most if not all of these require the OBSE system core and its Blockhead plug-in. Nowadays, not having OBSE and Blockhead installed means a seriously handicapped game. For gameplay overhauls, the only one I have tried (albeit for a brief time before my gaming computer went kaboom) is Maskars Oblivion Overhaul. It's fully compatible with OCO v2 (OCO is totally incompatible with anything that touches vanilla races at all, be it cosmetically or statistically). Quest mods and expansions are on the hundreds. My favourite one is The Lost Spires. Now, about modding Oblivion, the bad news: Skyrim does not give you experience at all for modding Oblivion. They play in different leagues. The same tools you are used to, Oblivion renders them barely useless. Forget about NMM, it's just not for Oblivion. Use Oblivion Mod Manager AND Wrye Bash. You will need OBMM for omod installers and basic mod management, and Wrye Bash for advanced modding and maintenance and the imprescindible Bashed Patch. Before starting throwing mods to your game, you need a correctly installed, upgraded and patched installation of the base game. And do not forget to explicitly state which version of the game you got: retail disc or Steam. Things are pretty different depending on that. For starters, before doing anything, read this guide. It's meant for an uninstallation and re-installation of the game, but for a first-time installation it is also applicable. Note: if you have the retail disc version, consider using a Profile Manager to keep safeguarded your base installation. I do not mean Mod Organizer, I mean tools such as mTES4. And a last warning: be it retail disc or Steam, DO NOT INSTALL THE GAME IN YOUR C:\ProgramFiles. Seriously. Cheers! Post Scriptum: before even thinking about downloading any mod, first read thoroughly the Description Page and four or five pages of the Comments section to take a grasp on how the mod behaves. Do not jump installing mods nonchalantly. Oblivion does not work this way, believe me. And always read the Readme.

[WIP] The Abysmer Empire Needs You!
IkeCoast replied to IkeCoast's topic in Oblivion's Classic Discussion
My, Elijah, I fell flattered you find my little project interesting enough to give me your card. However, I have no plans for a complex Quest Mod (nor bucks to pay for your services, truth to be said). But thank you very much anyway. Cheers! -
Not sure what I need to download
IkeCoast replied to GamerGuySince95's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
Hey, GamerGuy! You need to download and install the two Main Files from this release (click here). The other files are optional, one is for if you use the mod Harvest Flora, and the other has optional features AND THE README. Download the Add-ons and be sure to read the Readme before anything. Cheers! -
[WIP] The Abysmer Empire Needs You!
IkeCoast replied to IkeCoast's topic in Oblivion's Classic Discussion
Striker, I know you have been prying this. Isn't she lovely? So nonchalantly dissecting Surfacers? Cheers! -
Hey, Gamer! You don't need a body replacer, in fact, not having a body replacer will make your life easier. Nuska's body textures for the vanilla bodies are fairly flawless and if you're satisfied with them, stay this way. Body replacers are a matter of personal taste. I personally prefer both Robert Male and Female ones, as Striker says. Well, I discovered that the EBE HGEC body suits more my Abysmers than Roberts... if only the buoys were a little bit more... hydrodinamical... but for general purpose, Robert Female is still my blindfolded choice. Anyhow, you really don't need a body replacer. And you save yourself from the Khajiit Bug. The Khajiit Bug is the fact that vanilla Khajiits use only ONE texture for both males and females, so when a body replacer is installed, it needs an esp to redirect the new textures to the proper bodies. This makes OCO go nuts and do weird things to female Khajiits depending on the Body installed. Do not hesitate to post here any question, doubt or need you found regarding all or this. Cheers!

[WIP] The Abysmer Empire Needs You!
IkeCoast replied to IkeCoast's topic in Oblivion's Classic Discussion
My Goodness, I LOVE her. Your brief biography on her is perfect, and her unique, distinctive, yet unmistakably Abysmer face is flawless. And the Nuska TiedHawk suits her far better than it suits Queen Dorma. Right now I don't know what to say, I'm truly impressed. As a modder, I'm still deeply touched when I see one of my creations (even if it's not completely my creation) being brought to life this way. Now I need to find a hosting provider and start creating the Abysmer Wiki. Meanwhile... MOAR PLZ. Cheers! -
Whew, you found the source or your issue then! What a relief. Overwritten files are normal, and the way most of patches (if not all) work, In fact, you cannot install a mod without overwriting something. Be sure that everything is fine now with your OCO. I bet my socks that you have the famous Khajiit Bug. Which Body Replacer are you using, if any? Cheers!
-
Hey, GamerGuy! Sorry, no, I did not see your last edit. So, now OCO works but not Blockhead, since you got the "Install Blockhead". If Blockhead (that is, the blockhead.dll file) is placed in the CORRECT folder (Oblivion\Data\OBSE\Plugins), and still does not work, then it's OBSE who is not working. MInd to tell me how are you so sure your OBSE is working fine? That would help us to pinpoint the source of your issue. Cheers!
-
Hey, GamerGuy! First, what I meant with "you could have installed OCO with OBMM provided that you knew how to create an omod installer from a downloaded package" was exactly that: you can take OCO's package, and use the Create Omod utility from OBMM to turn this package into an omod installer file. However, let's try again to fix your issue. OBSE requires DirectX 9.0c to function. Newer versions of DirectX will render OBSE unusable. Secondly, the installation instructions provided in the Description Page are outdated. You need to put on your Oblivion installation folder the same files as for the disc version, including the omitted obse_loader.exe, and enable the Steam Overlay in game. Start Oblivion normally using the Steam launcher as usual, do not use the obse_loader.exe nor the obse_steam_loader.dll. If this fails, then you are affected by a bug in Steam that forces some users to use the newest version of OBSE with an older version of the obse_loader.exe. I will provide you the link for the "outdated" version, but first check what I suggest in this post. Cheers!

[WIP] The Abysmer Empire Needs You!
IkeCoast replied to IkeCoast's topic in Oblivion's Classic Discussion
Hey, Lillum! Your words made me feel realized, because all you say is exactly what I intended for the players to feel. I still have lots of fun using the swift swim, jumping in the water, bonking my head against everything and essentially being teleported anywhere in a matter of seconds XD Yep, the Outpost is intended to be part of the game once the update is finished. And yes, I already had the idea of including some type of companion there, but in order to make the mod as standalone as possible, I'm learning how to create very basic, vanilla companions for it. I have in mind some short of minion, not exactly an Abysmer soldier but, let's say, a Shark Atronach. Stay tuned. But releasing a separate plug-in for the CM Partners with some Abysmer soldiers to aid you in your conquest of Cyrodiil and the eradication of the filthiy Surfacers (that's not what I say, it's what Queen Dorma keeps saying when the matter jumps on the conversation) is a good idea. Yep, I knew Attina is Ariel's sister, this is why I found this name so lore-friendly and appropriate. I took my names from other sources too: Wyynde was an atlantean warrior from the John Ostrander and Jan Duursema's comic book "Arion, Lord of Atlantis" (DC Comics), and Dorma was the first wife of King Namor of Atlantis (Marvel Comics). This week I will continue polishing the Outpost. I think the race itself is mostly finished. As for pictures, in the Nexus Site (not the Forums, the Downloads Site) it's easy to post pictures in the Images section. You can post images from your own hard drive. Here in the Forums, using the "More reply options" button down there below the text input box, you can attach files from your hard drive to the post, or if you have your images hosted in a site like ImageShack, you can use the Add Image button from the upper icons bar to post it inside the message. Oblivion Mod Manager issue

Just so Striker and I can point at you with our fingers and lau... er... I mean... be aware of what happened for future references, where did you find the ring, Blades? Cheers! -
Oblivion Mod Manager issue
IkeCoast replied to xbladekiller's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
Hey, Blades! I think I remember both CM Partners Rings being Quest Items and hence undroppable. Both should still be in your inventory. Perhaps I'm wrong and both rings can be dropped. If that's what happened and you unadvertently dropped it, then... you need to reload the CM Partners mod, not just Nesure's esp. Cheers! -
Few questions about modding and Blender
IkeCoast replied to Sirprize7's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
Hey, Sirprize! Good questions, let's try to shed a little bit of light. 1) If you look at other nif files, the ones with several textures on them, you will see that each part of the item is shown as a NiTriShape (or NiTriStrip, depending on how the creator of the mesh saved them). However, your coffin most likely is one single NiTriShape. In Blender, enter Edit Mode, select all the faces that form the surface you want to texture differently, and split it. I don't remember the exact command and I can't use Blender in this laptop. What you need is to separate that portion from the main mesh. Do the same for every piece you want to be textured differently. Once all the pieces are accordingly separated, you need to UV-unwrap them individually. Summarizing: if your coffin only needs a single texture, you can have it as a single piece. If not, for every different texture you need to split the coffin in separate pieces. 2) It's not a matter of collision but havok. I don't know how to assign havok properties to an object (for instance, you want your coffin to have the same "weight", that is, the same way to react to impulse as fallen logs. You need the help of somebody more skilled in this, if this is even possible to do. And Blender's weight paint is not what you think it is, it is used to rig vertices to the skeleton of the mesh in order to animate it. It's not what you need. 3) You need to edit the collision box of your mesh to have a hole, too. Again, I don't remember how is called this option in Blender, but I remember there is. 4) Icons are easy. You take a screenshot of the item you want the icon for, edit it in GIMP to remove the background and resize the resulting image and save it with appropriate format. HERE YOU GO, CLICK HERE FOR A DETAILED TUTORIAL. The easiest way to create your coffin would be creating it as an static object, like the ones already present in the game. They are unmovable, of course. Cheers! -
Oblivion Mod Manager issue
IkeCoast replied to xbladekiller's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
Hey, Blades! That's strange, the Partners RIng should have been added to your inventory as soon as you started the game with CM installed, but Striker should be right and if you installed the Oblivion Only version, then the Rings are not included. Where did you lost Nesure? Inside an Oblivion Gate? Because if she's on Cyrodiil she should have teleported to you eventually. Unfortunately, without knowing the RefId of the placed instance for Nesure on your game, we can't use the moveto.player command to "rescue" her. I don't remember if I made her and Finlan a Quest Item. Try making the CM Partners Quest your active Quest. If I indeed made her a Quest Item, her location on the map should be shown. If not, I'm afraid you have lost her on the Planes of Oblivion, and since you cannot go back to a previously visited Oblivion Plane, you cannot rescue her. If you have a previous savegame where you still had her with you, try this: Load this savegame, bring up console, click on Nesure and write down her RefId. Do not save, instead, load your current savegame where you have lost her. Bring the console and type prid NesureRefId it is, you must type the prid command followed by the numbers you wrote down before, the Nesure's RefId In the upper part of the window should appear "Nesure" (RefId). Now, type moveto.player and she should be teleported to your location. However, if when using the prid command nothing shows up in the upper part of the window and the console gives an error message, then Nesure's current placed instance has been deleted from the game. You need to respawn a new placed instance, but you need her BaseId, I'll try to look at my esp to know it. Or you exit the game, disable Nesure's esp, load the game, save, exit the game, activate again Nesure's esp, load the game, and go to the Prison Yards where she has respawned. She will be amnesiac and won't recognize you, due to the PTS the battle at the Oblivion World caused her. Since you're now a skilled warrior she should accept to re-join you. If not, bribe her. Powerful gentleman is Mister Money. Next time you go with her into an Oblivion Gate, before taking the Sygil Stone make sure everything but you and Nesure is dead, she is not in combat mode, and she is right next to you. This way she will not (hopefully) get lost again. Sorry. It's one of the limitations of the companion system, not only CM Partners, vanilla companions also suffer from this. About images: below the input box there is a button labeled "More reply options". Click it and the advanced editor will appear. There, below the input box, is the Attach Files option. You also could upload your image to some hosting service like ImageShack or so, and use the Insert Image button on the upper button bar in the text editor to directly insert the image into your post. Cheers! -
[WIP] The Abysmer Empire Needs You!
IkeCoast replied to IkeCoast's topic in Oblivion's Classic Discussion
Hey, Lillum! Thank you for your words and your support. Do not forget that I did not create the textures, I simply took Capucine's Aquamer Race textures and applied them to a careful and deliberate selection of body and head meshes, designed some Race Powers and Abilities and tossed to the wild. Funny how a simple change of head mesh and facegen geometry design can make the two races, Aquamer and Abysmer, so different despite the same base textures. Yes, the Eel Kiss does not consume Magicka because I deliberately made it as a Race Lesser Power. This way it does not sum up for Destruction and does not interfere in leveling. Eye of the Abyss does sum up for Illusion, but it did not work when I tried to make it a Lesser Power too. Perhaps there's a better way to script it, but I don't know how. We can just pretend that the shock and paralyze power the Abysmer have is not magical but biological, the same as some fishes have bioelectric stings. Getting used to the velocity Nature of the Abyss gives when swimming takes a little work, since most players do not swim often, but the tactical advantage you have now to lure your enemies to deep water and zap them to the afterlife is worth the extra work. And do not forget that you can travel virtually across all Cyrodiil by water. The enchantments I put into every piece of the armor were chosen in order to compensate the weaknesses Wounds of the Surface give you. I believe it makes sense, because the Abysmer present on Cyrodiil are supposed to be warriors, or at least emissaries, ambassadors, and they should come here well prepared. About the Outpost, it's intended as a just-in-case pre-settled post with just the bare commodities for up to four Abysmer personnel. Perhaps I decorate it a little bit more, but it will not be a Waldorf Astoria suite. And the name you chose for your Abysmer lady, Attina, suits the lore I have in my mind perfectly. I hereby include her in the Official Abysmer Lore. May I ask you to post here some pictures of her and her character particularities? Have fun and, wherever you go, say proudly the Abysmer Motto: "Roast, you Surfacer scum!". Cheers! -
Should I clean mods not flagged by BOSS?
IkeCoast replied to Grogrokl's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
Before cleaning them, check the Readme and the documentation they include, if any. Some mods need the Dirty Edits in order to properly function. In any case, make a backup of these mods, or ensure you always store safely the downloaded packages. Cheers! -
Check your PMs, Victoria ;) Cheers!

So are there any compatible hair mods for OCO2?
IkeCoast replied to KrisTheZombie's topic in Oblivion's Mod Ideas
Technically speaking, there are absolutely no Hair Mods compatible with OCO, in fact, any Beautification Mod that does not contain a particular hair is not compatible with any other Hair Mod that does not follow the same asset assignation. But, as Timarot says, you can use Wrye Bash or TES4Edit to bash and merge mods together and add the hair from one mod to OCO. But I strongly recommend you to learn how to use the Construction Set to make your own compatibility patches. You could, for instance, install all of Dustinflan and Maxim's Hairs, they work superbly with OCO's head meshes, and use the Construction Set to add them to OCO's esp. If you know how to use the Construction Set, you have more freedom to customise your own races and mods. But first, try learning how to create your Bashed Patch. Cheers! -
Striker explained what Archive Invalidation is, but I can't find in his TL;DR explanation how to do it, so here we go: Using OBMM, locate in the right buttons panel the one labeled "Utilities", click it and from the options that appear, select "Archive Invalidation". A new window will popup, Here, just make sure the "BSA Redirection" is selected. If so, do not change anything else. If you're under Steam, locate and click the "Reset BSA Timestamps". Nothing will happen. Now in the lower right corner locate and click the button labeled "Update Now". A message telling you "Updated!" appears. Close it and close the Archive Invalidation window. Done. Theoretically, you only need to do it once and forget about that, but sometimes re-running Archive Invalidation can fix some issues after insatlling any mod. Cheers!

[WIP] The Abysmer Empire Needs You!
IkeCoast replied to IkeCoast's topic in Oblivion's Classic Discussion
Yep, matey, I knew you downloaded it already, I recalled the trick you teached me about the download story. In fact, someone else downloaded it, but I don't know who. It's none of the regular posters there. I assume it was someone from the staff to check my file and ensure it contained nothing... strange. Cheers! -
How exactly does the Oblivion load order work?
IkeCoast replied to dingdongdummy909's topic in Oblivion's Classic Discussion
That is correct, when you use an external tool (BOSS or OBMM or WB) to sort your load order, what the tool does is change the date of the files to match cronologically the load order you have set. This is why every time you make some change to an esp, it always goes to the bottom of the list. Wrye Bash has a function, "Lock the load order", to prevent this. Cheers! -
Hey, GamerGuy! "Install using NMM" is just a recommendation made by Nuska. You could have installed OCO v2 manually, or using OBMM (provided that you know how to create an omod installer from a downloaded package). Now, to your issue: did you run Archive Invalidation? Also, I assume when you say "did download Blockhead as well", you mean "I did download OBSE and Blockhead as well". Cheers!
