I've tried it and the game didn't even launch. Remove mod files and game loads right up. Version 2.1 works. Ignore the SKSE warning. Not all the features of the later version with SKSE, but hey, it's good for now.
  2. Thank you for your timely and knowledgeable responses, folks. I took a risk and went for a supposedly new R290 for £169 with a guarantee on eBay. I couldn't afford either the RX 480 or the R290 new. I have an Enermax Revolution 85+ power supply with the right graphics card connectors.
  3. Hi Folks, I solved it, finally! I uninstalled the graphics driver and installed Radeon v 17.6.2 now it works brilliantly. Thank you to everyone to tried to help me. I have a Sapphire Vapor-x AMD Radeon R9 270x 2 GB 2GGDR5 card. I upgraded to a SAPPHIRE Vapor-x AMD RADEON R9 290 4GB 5000MHz GDDR5 947MHz GPU 512BIT HDMI I can't believe I'm having the same or worse problems with fps, stuttering problems and, oh yes, I forgot to mention, talking out of sync. I have an AMD FX-6300 6 core cpu and 16 GB memory on an Asus M5A97 EVO R2 motherboard. I know the 290 is pci-e 3.0 and the motherboard slot is 2.0, but I understand the performance shouldn't be appreciably less. I did a benchmark test on my system and it gave me a good score. 'Overall this PC is performing above expectations (69th percentile). This means that out of 100 PCs with exactly the same components, 32 performed better. The overall percentile is the average of the percentiles for each component in the PC.' Graphics: '79.8% is a very good 3D score, it's the business. This GPU can handle recent 3D games at high resolutions and ultra detail levels.' I'm totally frustrated. I did the ENB and ENB boost install and recommendations; tweaked my AMD CCC back and forth and the ini's as well, taking everyone's suggestions one at a time. Oldrim runs fantastic on ultra. Go figure. Any ideas will be welcome. I'm not ready to give up.

Dear SKSE team, thank you for all your hard work. It is very, very appreciated.
  5. you can do a lot more tho.....i see an optimised tetxure pack that cuts vram roughly in half, with almost no visual effect. i see a remove lil clutter mod, like those small stones mod and lastly.....in PREFS inis, i put viShadowMapResolution at 1024, that did me a lot of good, shadows are a killer at lower spec machines(high is still too much) with just that last change i went form 30 fps to 45.... good luck, keep at it, there is lots you can do Is the 'v' before iShadowMapRes' a typo? 'Did you change the iShadowMapRes in both ini, or just in documents\mygames...?
  6. That's great. This should be on the old mods that work thread.
  7. Vals Crafting Meltdown Modified works
  8. Hi Folks, I used Wyebash to make a new face for my character and have an esp. I re-saved it in the SE Creation Set and ignored all the warnings. I installed the esp with NMM. How do I get it to show on my character? I have no idea how I did it in Skyrim, it's too long ago. Ta.
  9. This is a plea for gopher. Would you please update ImmersiveHUD for SSE? It is still the best. Ta

Thank you Team OBSE, Team SKSE and Team SKSE64 for all you do! You have made my games in the past so much more. I'm ([patiently, she says  ) waiting for the new version. Sending you good energy.
  11. HI Folks, I have looked all over the net. Does anyone have a link to Slartibartfast's little fix? I could only find dead links on PES. Ta,
  12. Hi Witcher Experts, I have tried everything - practised in the arena, studied and copied as best I could the hints and tips and YouTube fights. I just don't have the response time, even on easy. Problem sorted. Someone on The Witcher 2 forums did the fight for me. I noticed some folks with the same problem put their request on the Nexus forum under 'Technical problems'. Thanks for looking.
  13. Customize to your liking and name your character and you are all set to go! Now you can reuse my character exactly as I created it. Thank you so much for your detailed explantion - and also to Garathos for his additions:Just some clarifications that i think will make it a bit easier for people that have no clue about the CK or console to work out some steps in you instructions. 4.Type spf <filename you want> and press enter. This can be any name you want, to keep it simple I use spf 14 so it makes a file called 14.npc in your Skyrim directory. - To clarify what was already said in Step 4. When you attempt to use this command do not include the < > in the command. 5.Load up the creation kit and choose any one of the character presets that matches your original saves race and gender under actors. For example, I chose OrcMalePreset05. - Here you want to go to File / Data - Then select skyrim.esm master file ( you will know when its selected due to a X being marked next to the file name. -Press OK (PLEASE NOTE: At this point a bunch of files will start loading which may take a few minutes. During this time you will get warnings/ error boxes come up just basicaly ok through them till its done) 6.Open up the properties window for that charactor (Just double click the actor in the list) - Here you want to Navigate to the following place in the left hand side of the object window: Actors/ Actor / Preset - In the right hand side you should see a bunch of files named something like NordMalePreset002 etc. One of these is what you want to double click. 11.Save the plugin as any name you want, for example Character Preset. Using my example, I now have a plugin called Character Preset.esp. - To do this click File/ Save - A standard save as window will appear. This is there you save your plugin as whatever you want to call it. Just like step 11 says. Then continue following the rest of the OP'ers steps. ~~~~~ I would also add - when you open the console ~ after typing in 'showracemenu' return, you need to close the console so you can enter the race preset and make any further adjustments you may wish. You will then be asked to name your character as you would at the beginning of a new game. I tried it in an ongoing game and it worked perfectly - very easy, even for a CS newbie or novice, thanks to the clear instructions from these two folks. A very good work around for Wrye Bash for Skyrim not having the facility to import a face.
  14. Hi Guys, I had to start a new game when my computer died and I had to build a new one. I wanted to import my face from my previous game saves. I've done it in the past with Wrye Bash - but maybe not in Skyrim. Is the version I'm using wrong? The instructions for Skyrim seem to be the same as for Oblivion. Are they wrong? Method: in Wrye Bash (which ID's' itself as 'Wrye Smash'): RMB on current save - option to import face not given. then I created a character.esp from the blank.esp in Mopy/extras again, RMB on the esp in Wrye Bash - No option given to import a face. Any suggestions will be most welcome. Wrye Bash v304.3 I have now learned it is not possible to do this in Skyrim as it was in Oblivion - however Moving Faces Between Saves (PC Only)is a thread on the NEXUS and explains beautifully how to do it in the CS - even for a novice.
  15. Thanks to Cazymar and Tehandyman, I was able to finish this quest. Reloading did not work for me. I would also suggest saving often and only adding 1 cube at a time, as needed.
  16. I'm glad for the tagging. I see children and teens for therapy. Most of the teen boys play computer games - no surprise there - and some want to mod. Sometimes I use my laptop in sessions to work on Internet safety (these guys are MUCH more Internet savvy than their carers!). For the ones who are old enough to play certain games with mods on the Nexus, it is great for me and for the carers to have the blocking so the young people can cruise the site (with supervision), find mods and have minimal exposure to things beyond their years or parental preferences. Thank you for all your hard work Dark0ne - and thank you to your team as well.
  17. From reading all the relevant threads I could find, I have come to the conclusion everyone's situation is different, therefore the solutions to this problem vary. For me, the problem did not start until I updated to the latest skyrim.esm. I already had all the DLCs and the unofficial patches, except for the Dragonborn patch. My unofficial skyrim patch is not at the latest version because I can't figure out which mods, or even if it is mod at this point, is causing problems for me in the Solitude area. I did not want to start again for a third time! My solution: What worked for me was installing Dragon Merchant with Buyable Dragon Souls by MrCasual. I did not use the Merchant, I only installed the mod. Someone on another thread had written that installing this mod worked for him. At first I thought it didn't work for me because I didn't see the usual animation and sounds, but the dragon soul was in my inventory when I looked. Later I added the Unofficial dragonborn patch. Now everything is as it should be. :P /skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15467
  18. Have you thought about a three tiered system of membership? I've been a lifetime premium member since dot. I am happy to pay something to up my membership just to support Nexus (since you can't take donations and don't sell merchandise). If you can offer me something special in return, cool, but for me, unnecessary. As always, I cheer you and your team 110! Thank you for a fantastic site.
  19. Hi Guys, Do I need 3 Papyrus logs in 'My Games / Skyrim / logs / script'? Two are dated yesterday - two from the day before. Do I need more than just the most recent? Is there a setting in skyrim.ini or somewhere else to control how many logs are retained? Thanks for any ideas and comments.
  20. Thanks to other threads on BGS forums, I learned that removing map.swf solves the problem.
  21. Hi All, I uninstalled my map mods, no change. :wallbash: Anyone else lost their map cursor? Any suggestions? Ta

I'm sending you a special spell to find and transform the Gremlins and Parameters that are playing Silly-B with your system.
  23. Is the Japanese version supposed to be installed when I only have an English version of Skyrim? I have tried starting Dawnguard from my saved game. No luck. I tried from my first save after leaving Helgen when I was in Alvar's house - with and without SKSE. no luck. If I can get the game to load, I can't go out a door into Riverwood. If I am in Whiterun, I can't go out the gate. If I fast travel to the stable, I get a bare landscape. I verified my cache. no difference. :wallbash: everything is up to date. I have the Dawnguard versions for mods I need them for. Any thoughts and help appreciated.
