  1. I don't have your answer, but I have a few questions that may lead to possibilities. Y'know, or maybe not. Still, out of curiosity: 1. Do quicksaves work or does any kind of saving crash your game? 2. it just the save menu that triggers the crash, or does opening any menu do the job? 3. What is your system doing when you crash?
  2. That's a pretty awesome looking weapon. I don't use 3ds max. Generally I curse at use Blender, but there are plenty of folks here who do. I'm sure if you have a specific question it might attract the attention of the people who may have the answer.
  3. The armor you take off of Linwe? I've worn Linwe's armor on console and pc many times and haven't ever had that issue. I'm not sure that's the cause here. Not that I have any better ideas :D I'm just saying. When I get home, I'll load it up and test this to see if I can reproduce it though, because I reckon it's possible I just didn't use a bow while I wore it and so I never noticed it.
  4. Indeed, it's on the horizon. Final bugs/issues are being ironed out, and you should see it relatively soon :) Capital name, btw.
  5. You can always wait for the new NMM release. It will let you upload and share your profile, and your friend can download and install it and take it for a spin. Other than that, I can't think of a pretty way to accomplish your goal off the top of my head.
  6. +1 There are some very cool mods they list, but you don't need STEP to figure out that you want a mod. Some swear by it, I find it limiting in that it's very lore focused which is fine for some.
  7. It did this to me one time. I _think_ had to delete the black tree gaming app data or something to get NMM to launch. It's been ages though. Best to ask the devs in this forum instead. Most folks who read the threads in here are checking out Skyrim troubles.
  8. Sweet. That should set you right if you're fixing the errors. Let us know. :)
  9. CTDs are usually caused by your game trying to load a missing file. Have you removed mod(s) during this play through? Better question, when you run Loot, is it tossing you warnings?
  10. The only purpose I've seen to freeing them, is so that you can watch a saber cat kill them ten seconds later. I've given them armor and weapons, and while they'll use the weapons I've never seen one put armor on instead of rags. Nah, just run off into the wilderness in your rags, you'll be fine. I didn't like the Civil War from either side of the line, so the only ones I even mess with are the ones the Thalmor are harassing and then I only do it to pick a fight. It might be cool to have a reason for freeing them. Some incentive, because as it stands, it's just a really good way to get a little battle practice in, and if you have an itchy sword arm, a nice bounty. I've done that a time or two.
  11. lol, I could think of a few more filters for the follower section. Is "vapid eye candy" a valid filter? It should be. I'm all for eye candy, but if I'm going to be traveling in a dangerous land with someone, I wish they'd say something more than "What do you need?" or the ever popular "We've stopped." haha I need coffee.
  12. True, there are loads of good male followers. Not too many that are custom voiced though. Inigo comes to mind... not exactly the type you're looking for eh? I suppose you've given 3DNPCs a spin - great voice acting, but I doubt you'll find the look or personality you're looking for. Darrow Greylock? I haven't used him yet, but he looks like fun. I might give him a go and check him out. Skysight skins won't change the biggest issue with cookie cutter followers - voice types and lines. The custom voice is the big hurdle.
  13. This. Your current save is what I like to call "broke-dammit", and you can't fix that. Load up an earlier save (preferably one prior to entering the Outpost) and try to get the lexicon from Septimus again. Also, question: When you consoled your items into your inventory, did you also advance the quest to stage 20? Because I think that's the stage where you get the instruction to transcribe the blank lexicon and I'm not sure that you'll be able to interact with the pedestal without that stage active in your quest log. Of course, I don't know that to be fact, but it sounds GREAT. Give 'er a go.
  14. Irritating isn't it? I have this issue every time I use SMIM and forget that it needs tlc when installing with certain texture mods. I can usually fix it with a little user-end tinkering. Can you post your load order? Chances are you have the textures you need, you're just not letting them win the argument. So to speak.
  15. It's crashing when you try to take the robe from the inventory of the corpse, yeah? Not just when you open the inventory? Also, it's only when you're taking the mage armor... you can take gold or weapons or other armor with no CTD? Has LOOT thrown you any warnings when you run it?
  16. Post more details? Version? When did this start happening? Did you do/add/remove/update anything before this started? What's your favorite color? Is there a trace log? Is this specifically related to Skyrim or an NMM thing in general?
  17. I like that this is the last week of school! By the nine, I really like that a lot. I like that the lake is ten minutes from the house. I like this song.
  18. This is a damned good idea, really. LMMS is a great tool and imo, very much overlooked and underused. The learning curve is exactly why this needs a dedicated place for questions and answers. Maybe we can get this thread moved to suggestions and feedback so that it will be sure to be seen?
  19. Are your CTD's happening in a particular area or in random places?
  20. Oh yeah I agree, good mod. I used to use it myself, and am one of those endorsements. Anyone else who just wants the memory fix without adding an additional mod can just open SKSE.ini and paste this in: [Memory] DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768 ScrapHeapSizeMB=256
  21. I think SKSE made Safety Load obsolete didn't it? I could be wrong. I want to say that I just had to edit the SKSE ini and I no longer needed Safety Load or SSME.
  22. Removing mods mid playthrough is a landmine. It's absolutely sure to set you up for some sort of jack-up sooner or later. You can try opening your save using this. It says to make a backup of your save before using, and backups are never bad but I tend to agree with your assessment that a new game will probably benefit you. Anyway, that tool will let you see if you have orphaned scripts running from your removed mods, and will also let you clean them up which may (or may not) help your issues. Either way, it can't hurt at this point. If you swap out your mods mid-game, broken saves are just a painful part of modding Skyrim.
