If you want to use mods you may as well get used to these things. After you do them a few times you'll be able to whiz right through, they're not as daunting as you think. It never hurts to go to steam & verify your files before cleaning masters. Anytime you verify files, masters will need cleaning afterwards. Hope this all works out for ya.

Sorry about not getting back here sooner, you probably fixed this by now. You have a few mods I'm not familiar with but I don't see any mod conflicts. I'd try reinstalling the mod & then going back to a hard save before you got to the prison. Did you do the pre game regiment of sorting with Loot, cleaning masters & bashed patch?

Then I'd make a minor adjustment with your aim. Neither type bow is 100% accurate for me, I have to aim a little low.

Not every mod requiring SKSE64 needed to be updated though, but many, like Chesko's Wearable lanters. Check the posts on the mods using SKSE64 & that will usually tell you if it needs an update.

The update versions of SSE and SKSE64 have to match of course. Do​ ​you have the latest update of the game & corresponding updated SKSE64?

Wow oldmansbeard, your patience is impressive! That would drive me crazy after a bit. That's the great thing about skyrim though, there's an unlimited number ways of playing.

Just my 2 cents, but the "readme" in the SKSE64 D/L makes installing about as clear & easy as it can get.

What happens with no followers? Did you try resetting followers combat skills with AFT? Set them to a no magic or maybe totally resetting them.

If NMM finds skyrim but not skyrim SE then you only have oldrim on your pc . You said you bought Skyrim SE, but are you sure it's not Skyrim LE? You can go to steam & d/l SSE for free if that is the case.

Only if you've read every book you have, and don't read any book you don't take. I'm not that disciplined. Still, you make a good point. I'd still like to be able to make a list though. I'll try using Take Notes. Lethiel I guess you meant don't read any book you don't "keep," since you can't read a book you don't take. I'm not all that disciplined either but since just opening a book counts as reading, it's pretty easy.

I use Unread Books Glow & that, in combination with the "eye icon" from skyui you get for books already read, the do I already have it problem is pretty much solved.

I know SKSE64 keeps all saves, auto, quick & reg. so I clear out auto & quick every day or two. I have about 50 hard saves. Game is on a 1TB SSD. I've never noticed it happen on first start up so it must have something to do with coming back to an exited game. I can live with it. I just wondered if anyone else was getting this.

I have very little in the way of textures & vram should be no problem. GPU is Nvidia GTX 1080. Strange thing is that it only loads like that about half the time, usually after I exit the game and then come back to it later.

Sometimes I'll get a black screen at game load that lasts for 60 to 120 seconds but then game plays fine after it does load. Steam thing? This just started a few days ago. Anyone know why? I'm using SKSE64 but doubt that's involved.

You say you have a mod for Aventus Aretino. I've used all the mods you list with good results but never used the Aretino mod, whatever that is, so I wonder about that. I have no idea why but for adoptions to work right for me I have to buy Breezehome first & send Lucia there. She's known to be a little bugged. I can then send her to any other home. After that I can send other kids to any home I use the Bless Home spell on. If I don't do it that way I usually have problems. Was surprised to see the new version of TKAA. I guess Triptherift decided to give us one last present! Edit: Just checked out the new TKAA Ep. 4 and the description page says; Hearthfire Multiple Adoption needs a patch. Look in the optional files section. but there's no patch for multiple adoptions in optional files...May be your problem. Edit 3/20/18: I see the patch was added.

There are some mod authors with bad attitudes of course but when you read a mods posts, stupid is in favor of users. Too lazy to read Desc or sticky, often seem to think they are entitled instant help & sometimes just plain rude and/or abusive. Then to top it off very few will take a moment to click endorse button. It's often like an indulgent parent & spoiled child relationship. For the most part though the people here using Nexus are helpful and civil to each other.

There's nothing to fix, works OK. The problem is on your end.

An Elmer Fudd preset would work well with that mod.

I have no idea if that should work or not but the load order would have to be the same for sure. Since you have that save you should be able to go back to not using NMM shouldn't you, & use NMM next time around?
