  1. I wonder if you already have steam running when you launch with SKSE64? I usually don't and will always get that little steam start-up update, and will have to quit & relaunch or SKSE mods won't work. If that's the case I may let steam run on pc start up.
  2. HadTo: Since I have Skyrim to only update when I run the exe, and since I use SKSE64, just starting the game with SKSE64 bypasses the trigger for Steam to update. I have steam set to only update at start-up, which I guess is what you're saying, but steam will always update SE for me when I start with SKSE64. Is there a setting or a way around this that you're doing? I use auto backup, so no real problem.
  3. You'll probably get help after you post your LO.
  4. I think AFT has a setting that fixes friendly fire. With AFT you can also give her any spells you want that's in your inventory. The thing that really bugs most about Serana, ( beside her constant whining ) is her resurrecting every dead thing she comes across. To fix that there's an oldrim mod called, Sneaky Serana that you'd just need to change to form 44 for SE. Another Serana mod I use is; Serana SHUT UP, which takes a few lines of her most maddening dialog away.
  5. An alternative is to use SSE Engine Fixes. I disable all autosaves so I quick save a lot & never have to manually delete any of the quicks.
  6. " the mod seems to half work if its only disabled." That makes no sense. It can't work at all if disabled. I've used AFT & the follower boost + no frendlyspelldamage many times with no problems at all. I know of no problem with the AFT port. It's just a shot in the dark but I'm guessing you have a mod that doesn't play nice with AFT.
  7. Well at least you're keeping your sense of humor, lol. We'd need your load order to be of any real help. Add: BTW, there are several people on Nexus that have posted basic stable mod lists for the new to modding. Something maybe worth googling?
  8. When you say, "same page as the original download," do you mean the description page? If so, click on files tab & check there. This may sound too basic but I have no way of knowing how new you may be to modding.
  9. Hey Skinjack, Did you try starting the latest versions with all mods, except a few like skyui disabled that you know for sure aren't a problem? I updated from 1.5.62 a short time ago & had the same problems. Turned out to be 2 mods in my L/O I would never have suspected. ( can't remember what they were.) If your game starts with all mods disabled, you can start putting them back in a few at a time until you find the culprits. Edit: Stupid old man, you should have noticed the date on those posts!!
  10. Did you read Kassent's 2nd sticky in the posts section? He gives a pretty good explanation.
  11. Sometimes just disabling all auto saves, temp or permanently is an easy fix for slow load times. My load times with travel auto update enabled is about 2 Min but with it disabled is really about 2 Sec's.
  12. Hi, When I have dawnbreaker in my inventory, it and any other one handed weapon are rendered basically useless. If I take it out of inventory, one hand weapons I may have are normal again. I tried finding the problem in xedit but found nothing. I have no mods that should effect the break of dawn quest or the weapon. It's not really a game breaker, just an annoyance. Anyone know what 's going on here? Edit: Nevermind, it was a mod.
  13. Are you using the latest release, 0.70.8? If not you can get it here: https://github.com/Nexus-Mods/Nexus-Mod-Manager
  14. Not endorsing a good mod is just a combination of laziness and selfishness...some just can't be bothered with it. I never notice the ratio of D/L to endorsements in selecting mods. Some of the best mods I've found have few of each. I read the description, any sticky's, and some of the posts. Who the mod author is of course is also important. As often as we're reminded to endorse mods we like, you'd think the ratio would be better. Thank you to the many mod authors for sharing your work and imagination!

  16. 1. - Just base game...no DLC's, (add-ons) 2. - LE has all three major DLC's and uses older 32 bit game engine. 3. - SSE has the DLC's, and is more stable because it uses a 64 bit game engine. If you're running LE you D/L mods from "Skyrim" on Nexus.
  17. My load time increased after the last big Stream update...Not the CC update, just the Steam one.
  18. When you added the quest mods, did you re-sort with Loot? If so, the "safety" save you made before adding them will be somewhat borked due to the L/O being changed...unless you reverted back to the exact same previous L/O you had before adding them. For me a soft reset is to first go to Documents/My Games/Skyrim Special Edition, this is where Windows keeps the ini files and saves and other info about your games by default. Delete or archive old saves, delete the Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini files. Open your Steam folder and delete appcache. New files will be created upon opening game. Also may be a good time to go to steam & verify game files, but then you'd need to clean masters again. Hope I helped a little.
  19. You have to be careful making changes mid-game. Deleting those quest mods changed much of your L/O... a no no mid game. Adding armors should mean a new bashed patch. As for problem persisting on a new game, I'm not sure but I'd do a soft reset before starting,
  20. I'm a little confused by your post. It sounds like you're trying to download special edition mods but don't have special edition. If you have the original Skyrim or LE version and not SSE, you should be looking for, and downloading mods on the "Skyrim" section of Nexus, not SSE.
  21. You would have to go into vortex settings & unassociate nxm url's. I haven't used Vortex yet, so you'd have to google how to do that, but it should be simple. After that, In NMM: 1. Open the Nexus Mod Manager Program with administrative permissions (right click “run as administrator”) to open NNM. 2. Click on “Settings” at the top in Nexus Mod Manager 3. In the OS settings tab, check box “Associate with NXM URLs” 4. If “Associate with NXM URLs” is already checked, uncheck it and recheck it 5. Click OK
  22. I use NMM version 0.65.11. When I opened NMM today I got the option to update to 0.70.0 & I declined. NMM isn't officially supported, so the update offer made no sense to me. I checked github to see if there was an update listed there, but there wasn't. I suggest going to github, https://github.com/Nexus-Mods/Nexus-Mod-Manager/releases/tag/0.65.11 and click on the 0.65.11.exe. edit: I'm wrong, the latest release on githup is 0.70.3 but you could try going back to 0.65.11.
  23. I don't know what version of SKSE you downloaded, (probably for oldrim) but to get SKSE64 for the latest SSE version 1.5.73 go to; https://skse.silverlock.org/ and download SKSE64 version 2.0.15. Open the zip file and read & follow the inst. in the readme.
  24. You make a very good point, but how or who would determine what content exceeds the acceptable limit? Add: Not sure but isn't adult content filtered out by default and you have to click to allow? If you logged out at leaving site A/C wouldn't be seen when first coming back until log-in?
  25. I never downloaded vortex so I'm unsure but I would think not. You would probably have to go into vortex settings & unassociate nxm url's. In NMM: 1. Open the Nexus Mod Manager Program with administrative permissions (right click “run as administrator”) 2. Click on “Settings” at the top in Nexus Mod Manager 3. In the OS settings tab, check box “Associate with NXM URLs” 4. If “Associate with NXM URLs” is already checked, uncheck it and recheck it 5. Click OK
