  1. Yes, it's another one of THOSE threads. I was playing the game last night/early this morning (funny how the two can combine) with no problems whatsoever. Game's running stable, no random CTD's, a little laggy but that's attributed to my graphics. I'm done for the night, shut down, everything's fine. Start up today, I have not installed or uninstalled any new mods and I get this s***. Uninstalled/reinstalled the game multiple times, verified files, I have deleted everything off my hard drives related to Skyrim settings and still I have this problem. Yes, I have gone through the STEP guide, the only way this thing could become more "pristine" is if it were ass f***ed by an angel. And after typing that I have realized this issue has frustrated me more than I thought it had so I'm gonna stop there. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ....Funny, I only start having problems with it AFTER I go legit. :/ Edit: Fixed. Damn AppData folder.
  2. Even though it's already been announced that there will be no more DLC I still hope one gets released where you can take the fight to the Thalmor because, rather than starting a new character in a new game, I'd really like to reprise my role as the Dragonborn and raise hell on that battlefield.
  3. You are dangerously close to dividing by zero. I implore you, end this madness.
  4. I have narrowed my problem down to a specific mod, now all I need is to know WHY it's acting like this since it never has before. When using Enhanced Character Edit there is only one nose option for female Nords (haven't bothered to check the other genders or races since I don't play with them). I've tried asking on the mod page but got ignored. Anyone know what's going on and how I can fix it?
  5. What a stupid thing to hardcode in. Wouldn't it make more sense to have everything positioned relative to the player's body rather than where the camera is? >:l
  6. No, I don't think I could have made that title any more opaque... I just got myself a sexy pair of 7.1 headphones and I want to get the most out of their positional audio capabilities in Skyrim. To that effect, I'm looking for a mod that will anchor the player's "ears" to the character's head instead of where ever the camera is. I play in the 3rd person perspective and that makes the volume of sounds relative to the position of the player different than if you played in 1st person. If anyone knows of such a mod I'd appreciate being linked to it. :3
  7. I remember it used to be a thing where mod authors could put their change logs in their version number. Is that still a thing? And how do I do that? Apologies if I don't make sense. I just crashed.
  8. I would consider it if it weren't for the fact this is one of those NPC's. He's a trainer, and a merchant, and essential, and possibly a few other things I can't think of.
  9. Okay, so I've decided to just follow Bethesda's tutorial on the subject (somewhat ironic in my mind) and I've hit a snag. I finished part three of the tutorial which covers dialogue. However, it doesn't work. In the tutorial you're creating everything from scratch so you're adding dialogue to a brand new NPC. But since I'm fixing a vanilla quest I'm adding dialogue to an existing NPC, only the new dialogue option is not appearing in the list and I'm not sure what I did wrong. At the end of this part of the tutorial the dialogue option should be there but it's not. Is there something special I need to do to add dialogue to vanilla NPC's?
  10. You might have to wait a bit for the changes to be noticeable like some other mods. If it doesn't fix itself it'd be best to post on the mod page, the mod authors are almost always around to answer questions and help you troubleshoot and they're really nice.
  11. Sounds like you need to tone down the contrast, but since you're using an ENB I couldn't tell you how to do that as I've never used one long enough to learn how to tweak it.
  12. Your mod list is looking good. The only thing I'd change out of personal preference is to replace Climates of Tamriel with RCRN. I've found RCRN to do the same job as CoT but better as well as a ton of other things. In conjunction with ANY lighting mod I would recommend using Imaginator and its separate MCM menu. Imaginator allows you to adjust lighting effects similar to the way you would adjust older tv's (you know, like color, tint, brightness, etc.) only in way specific to the Skyrim engine. Definitely worth having if your computer can't handle an ENB. I have another mod recommendation for you, something I saw your list was lacking, but just by recommending it I'd be spoiling part of the Companions questline. Since this is your first play through I wouldn't want to do that without giving you that choice so, do you want my recommendation?
  13. Try RCRN. I'm not sure about the weather sounds but it's really good about tailoring the interior lighting to match the time and the weather outside.
  14. Dude, you just described Belua Sanguinare Revisted perfectly. xD I've been playing with BSR for a long time and it fast became a mod I cannot play without. Unfortunately it does have a lot of scripts however I do not notice them running at all. I'm redlining my Skyrim with the amount of mods I have and with the graphics settings pushing the limit on what my computer can handle, which is not much, and I notice absolutely zero performance drop with BSR. It really is the perfect must-have vampirism mod.
  15. Or in this case I suppose I should say 'fixing'. There's a certain vanilla quest that, as far as I can tell, has been documented as broken since the launch of Skyrim and I'd like to try my hand at fixing it. That said, I have no idea what to do with quests and I don't want to break it further. This particular quest is broken in that the quest giver doesn't actually give it to the player. I've gone into the CK and verified that the quest does indeed exist, it's just missing some player dialogue and, upon further review, quest aliases and objectives. That's not a problem, with a little imagination I've sure I can come up with a decent script and I've verified that all the people/items the quest refers to already exist in the world. But as far as I know that wont fix the underlying problem of the quest giver not giving the quest. Would this be fixed by inputting the player dialogue? Or is there some other way that quests are given that might be causing the break, such as a script? An answer to that question would be most appreciated.
  16. I'm sure many of you use the mod Predator Vision and if you do you should be able to understand what it is I want to do. The thermal vision part of the mod makes all the colors hyper saturated and living people and creatures glow orange. I want to do something similar but more stylistic. The thermal vision is fine for werewolves but I mainly play as a vampire so I feel blood should come into effect more than body heat. What I envision is a mode that brightens the night but desaturates everything to shades of grey, black, and white and living people and creatures glow blood red (think something like the movie Sin City only not quite as dark/with as much contrast). For the record, I would be editing the Predator Vision files to do this but for my own personal use only. I pose this thread because I have no idea how to achieve that. I have figured out how to make things glow red but they still have the orange overlay over their bodies and I don't know what else to do to bring my goal to life. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. (:
  17. Edit: Never mind. Found what I was looking for.
  18. HazardHighlanders2011: Look at what Insanityman said, I believe that's what happened. digitaltrucker: Okay, I'll try that and post again. I'll go to qasmoke just to be safe. Edit: The hole is still there. Do I have to wait using the T key? Cuz I just sped up time by changing the timescale. Edit2: Waiting the traditional way for 31 days fixed it. Thank you. :3
  19. So I've got this dragon corpse falling from the sky on top of me every once in a while so I decide to mark it for deletion. Thought everything was all well and good. Came back to the College of Winterhold some time later and it seems I didn't get it. Instead a section of the College is now simply gone. >.>;; How do I get it back?
  20. Unfortunately the sexchange command didn't do it. ): Will do some research on the hell hound spell effects. Edit: After finding a rather helpful thread here on the Nexus indexing many (if not all) of the special effects used by NPCs I was able to narrow this effect down to dragon priests. Thanks for your help. :3
  21. Recently an odd visual effect has plagued me, a purple mist (actually it looks more like fire) has been orbiting my character. At first I thought it was normal because I first noticed it after battling some Dawngaurd members (I'm a vampire) and I thought it might be a visual effect related to the enchantment they have on their weapons. But now it's appearing every time I reload a game and I can't figure out why. It's not in my active effects list, it's not related to any items I'm wearing. I can tell you the exact date it appeared and none of the mods I installed on and around that date would do this. None of my older mods would be doing it either since I've always used them and never run into this problem before. So far the only way to make it go away, at least temporarily, is to use the Sumo Mortalis Forma spell that's part of the BSR mod. Here's a screenshot of the effect: http://i.imgur.com/D6zeiYv.jpg At this point I have no idea what to do so any help dealing with this thing would be greatly appreciated. Edit: After some thought I'm thinking it might be similar to that set of draugr active effects that sometimes glitch onto the player and give them glowing eyes. That said, I don't have the slightest clue what to do about it.
  22. Ah, that does exactly what I want. Thank you. (:
