  1. How about BOSS ? ...for load ordering ? And what tools does FOMM give you that makes installing an unsupported app worth the time/clutter ? Re-setting up FNV, having to go thru what I want, what is necessary. And yes, I do manual mod setups, its basicaly a no-brainer and it keeps you intouch with whats in your game directory.
  2. Uhmmm, hmmm ...comon guys, give em the bad news about "all day modding"
  3. No, CK requires some "training" time in it's use when It comes to affecting your toons looks/attributes. NPC Editor has CK's capabilities "summarized" for you within a few button clicks. CK has capabilities far beyond NPC Editor when it comes to over-all game editing.
  4. Im surprised that FNV is attracting any modding, dam game crashes ruining it ...know of more than one modder who've backed off thier mods (support/enhancing) because the game just wasn't stable and exasperated efforts. LOL, awful hard to trouble shoot mod load order/script etc when "crashes" are the norm. But as above mentioned, start off small.
  5. Hmmm, do not use NMM ?? I manually install mods (45-48) and it is actually piece of cake, just pay attention to a mods comment page.
  6. Skyrim ran fine for me with 45-48 mods, played it thru a few times then loaded Fallout NV with just 10 mods and what a "crash queen" it is ...you'd be hard pressed to make me believe Fallout and Skyrim share anything in common !! Edit: BTW, I dont use NMM, just manual install and a little bit of reading the mods comment pages etc.
  7. First time modders have no idea what they are getting themselves into when they look to do a large mod such as WIS ...takes organization, mucho hours and a thick skin, LOL, look at Bethesda and Fallout NV, they are still taking flak over that piece of poop.
  8. Yeah, googled it, should of done that in the first place. ArchiveInvalid.txt file is just a pointer to files for the game to load as "other", can imagine its a big pain to manually edit considering the number of files some mods want loaded. You would think dev's would and definitely could have updated "that" procedure for FNV. This "modding", Beth has best of both worlds, they can slop a game and still look good doing it. Atleast they fixed it for Skyrim and upcoming games ...slowly but surely.
  9. New to FNV and I havent seen this term used before, thanks.
  10. Well, maybe new players being introduced to Bethesda (Skyrim) will turn to FNV while twiddling thier thumbs waiting a DLC for Skyrim, maybe induce more modding action for FNV. I played FO3 years ago and with Skyrim played out till a DLC, I decided to check out FNV ...so maybe I am one of many looking this way. At anyrate, Skyrim modding, by a large percent is being done by "first timers" with no modding experience. Can you imagine the version numbers being thrown out there :wallbash:
  11. Basically it is because they are Designers/Artist and not "modders". Keep in mind that MANY MANY of these mods are from players whom have no real development/programming experience. Unless you are willing to put in the effort yourself.....
  12. IF it is your toon, use "Showracemenu" command at console ...different eyes that you can adjust lower, adjusting eye brow height can help with "hi foreheads", longer nose, decrease chin length, possibly squarer/lower jaws to give the "toon" a more "round" face rather than that long face look. If it is a Non-Player NPC, Creation Kit or NPC Editor mod. Its a tweaking process, may take you several trys to get the look you want, after that, Granny ...errr, the young Lady will be good to go !!
  13. Believe it was the Navmesh fix that was causing the problem ..Beth removed the Navmesh fix from beta until it is understood "why" the Navmesh fix was causing the CTD's.
  14. Karliah is back at Nightinggale Hall for me ...messing around with her, she will put up with a lot of abuse before aggroing, then totally draining her of health, once she heals up a bit, she looses any aggro towards me. Try using force shout to "adjust" her pathing. LOL ...if you are concerned about her BEATING you up IF she aggro's, do a "removeallitems" console command before hand.
  15. Never seen a "hug" game animation in Skyrim, as stated earlier, probably just looked like a hug but was actually a hidden dagger to the belly.
  16. Have/Had same issue, random dragon spawn way low, but they do appear once-in-a-while. This has been awhile back, do not remember what mods I had at that time, so I am afraid I can not be of any use in trouble shooting the problem ...playing thru the quest etc never did improve spawn rate. If you use "placeatme" console command, the dragon will not have a soul. Edit: PS, I believe "Dragon Soul" is an object that can be added thru the console.
  17. Good Morning :) Have a quirky issue, fix is working but I do not understand what is going on here. ApachiiSky hair esm file, using CK instead of NPC editor to allocate hair styles to NPC's, 3 at this point. Lydia has a lite vertical wood texture on her face, removing the texture DDS and TGA files fixes the issue. Removing the DDS and TGA files for the other NPC's and their faces are discolored, texture loss. As far as I can recall, there should not be any differences (mods etc) between Lydia and the other NPC's. Why does other NPC's need the texture files and Lydia doesn't ???
  18. Is it possible to categorize mods by language ? As a mod user, I am sifting thru neck deep mods in "other" languages ...Im sorry, as if it isnt enough to maintain the site without adding more complexity, but it would be very helpful :)
