  1. What do you think - will FC5 become popular for mods? I'm not expecting anything on the level of FO4 or Skyrim/ SSE, but do you think we'll begin seeing an onslaught of mods? I'm not sure if we have something similar to the creation engine for FC5, so maybe that will impact?
  2. Great thread, this is. I can also confirm that all mods mentioned here work well together; no conflicts. I installed them all (well, those I wasn't already using), and so far, so good.
  3. Have you looked at Calientes Beautiful Bodies Edition -CBBE?
  4. Yes, there are some mods for this. I don't use them myself, but my daughter did exactly this with her computer.
  5. I love this idea; might try it myself. Frostfall and Hunterborn would be ideal. Also: Realistic Needs and Diseases and Trade Routes. The latter, especially, would be great for you. You can figure out which areas of the map pay the most for your kills; and perhaps stock up and make regular trips to such places.
  6. I second the use of Frostfall and Realistic Needs and Diseases. You could also look at Hunterborn, Touring Carriages, and Player Headtracking. While these mods don't possess the effects you expressed a desire for, I recommend them wholeheartedly for making Skyrim more realistic.
  7. Such fantastic replies. Thank you! 888mikem888: I'd say your reply is worth a lot more than 2 cents. I gave it some thought, and I think I have the same reasons for playing. The both of us are engaged in fairly thankless professions (these days everyone thinks they can write, so the profession is taken less seriously then ever), and escaping this, as well as the myriad problems in our lives, is a reason I completely overlooked. Nice one. charwo: You're committing a crime, you know? Turn that gift of storytelling into novels; otherwise, you run the risk of being carted away by the Literary Police! I found your reply thoroughly fascinating; especially this: "I use Vegas as a frame to put a story together which sometimes matches the vanilla take." This, again, is something I overlooked, and yet I do precisely the same thing. I really have to take my hat off to the Nexus modders here: selflessly, they give us such freedom to extend the game and shape our personal journeys. Anyway - utterly fab reply!
  8. I'm returning from a lengthy discussion with a friend. We're both novelists and our main area of discourse tends to revolve around our professions. Today, however, it took a different turn: I mentioned I was back to being hooked on Fallout NV and couldn't wait to hit my daily target of 1,000 words so I could return to the game. Not being a gamer, at all, he wanted to know the attraction. I was flumoxed at first. Why do I enjoy the game so much? I gave him a rather lame answer - "You know what I'm like: I like to be different characters." - but on reflection, I think there's more to it than that. Unless you believe in the after-life or reincarnation - and I won't even begin to suggest we start such a topic - we only get one life to live. Playing Fallout NV allows me to live many lives. Why do you play?
  9. Your English is great. As far as I know: If you want all of your mods to work, you have to download them to the same PC. They're stored locally on that PC.
  10. You're right: the leap in difficulty is astounding. Having said that, though, it's necessary and appreciated. I don't consider myself an expert gamer (I play in the evenings after work, mostly, and just to relax), but that leap in complexity is definitely needed by a large demographic of players; they'd lose interest if it was too easy. What I tend to do is start out as a Novice, build up my character, build up my own (real-world) skills, and slowly gravitate the difficulty upwards.
  11. I wish I could help because this is a great DLC. You've eliminated all of the suggestions I would have made - removing mods, re-installing - so I have no ideas. I hope someone can help you.
  12. Thanks for the heads-up on these, Robbieblack. I'm familiar with Frostfall and realistic needs and diseases, but I hadn't heard of Hunterborn. I've just started a new character with my daughter and this sounds like just what we need. Thank you! I
  13. This is bizarre. I was initially thinking you'd been struck by ice, or it was some other spell, but now I'm wondering. Do you have any unusual magic mods running?
  14. They should definitely add the pipe and smoke animation. It would add another level to gameplay but also to the visuals.
  15. This is possible (due to the increased capability of consoles now). Who knows, though? They seem to stick to the single area. I would be very cool, though, if they gave us different countries to explore in the one game. I'm already drooling at the idea of all the shipping mods!
  16. I intend to get premium membership this month, too. Aside from being worth it (by all accounts), I'd consider it a donation to a very worthwhile site. I play half of the games covered by Nexus and all of the games have been vastly improved by the selfless work of everyone involved in the mods. It's also great to have a place to chat about the games (something I can't do with friends or my wife due to their lack of interest - crazy people!).
  17. LOL I never noticed this. Well spotted, dude! I like the idea of Valenwood next!
  18. We've just finished playing for the evening. Apparently my daughter has other ideas: magicka and nothing else. This should be fun!
  19. That's an awesome rig. Yes, you'll be able to run whatever you want! :)
  20. I appreciate the information, folks; particularly your in-depth reply Theshawty! My daughter and I have decided to take the 4/1/0 advice and see how it pans out! I'll return to this thread in a couple of weeks and update on results and any tricks I uncover to build a better mage.
  21. This would be great. MrDidz, I'm creating a character just like yours, evil Dark Elf, this evening. I've been looking around for mods to affect reputation in this way since Skyrim came out and there really is nothing as yet that covers the facilities mentioned by levethian.
  22. You're right. I'm not expert on Skyrim (yet!). Those are the levels I've been using, though, and it's worked out nicely so far. Can you tell me some better ratios for a mage? I'm starting a new character and playing with my daughter this evening, so I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks!
  23. Can anyone recommend the best fallout new vegas dead money walkthrough? I'm going to be playing this quest with my wife and she gets bored if I run into problems (ugh), so I'd like to read up on it beforehand, and hopefully make things run smoothly - and fun. I threw "fallout new vegas dead money walkthrough" into Google and you have a ton of results for this, but I have no idea which one to choose. If you've used a walkthrough for this before, though, and it was a good one, I'd appreciate a quick link. Thanks!
