  1. The map calming spell does indeed work.
  2. I think of it as a challenge, Just been trawling through my load order trying to track down two issues. Found one NPC (Hulda) from Bannered Mare with a black face bug. It was a load order problem. She's now fixed. 2nd issue was I run a dialogue mod called RDO an forgot my EFF Patch so that's another level 10 noob (save) that went the way of the dodo. Rebuilding bodyslide, got new Merge patch and bashed patch ready to go. Two more things I need a new FNIS output file and fresh DSR patch and I'm ready to rock an roll till I find something else LOL. I'm placing bets on how long next toon lasts. Will he reach lvl 11 or will he fall over at bleak falls barrow. Only the divines can help solve this mystery lol Thing is I really started to enjoy building and rebuilding Skyrim about 3 years ago. One day ill hit level 9000 and the divines will shiver at my Dovakiin. Till then I'm always hopeful lol
  3. You are welcome sir. Good luck with the new Skyrim.
  4. Noticed similar behaviour, I'm still testing and setting up and finalising a load order for a play through. It will most likely be an NPC AI overhaul, I just took a peek at your load order. I'm impressed, You also have immersive citizens lite I have full monty running. Both of us have no other AI mods. Full version has nothing extra that will allow you to stop a fight. We both also have RDO I just been looking and RDO has a 'map calming spell' feature which will stop all combat apparently, I've never had to use it I don't think. As for that strange behaviour my guess is the NPC's in question are just doing the daily thing at the time you entered a scene and it triggered while they where out of range? Hope it helps
  5. You might be fine without them, I tried to bypass memory blocks yesterday as a test on a new toon. I use the memory hacks from ''crash fixes'' by meh321.https://rd.nexusmods.com/skyrim/search/ I removed all the enb files an placed them on my desktop. By time I got to Whiterun encounter with the giant, the game crashed. Crash fixes reported it was pretty much out of memory. Now I run 8gb just like you. Ill be honest if we could run Skyrim without these memory hacks I'd do it in a heartbeat. I refused to run Skyrim in a vanilla state since I bought the game in 2012. I installed it the day I bought it. Within 3 hours I had some basic mods running lol. Yes it was a disaster I was installing mods willy-nilly with no regards to the impact it would have on the game. I tried enb's was in a terrible mess. Then I watched some of Gopher's video's I've had varied success and yes my PC back then was a lot less powerful than it is today like you. I persevered, tried new stuff knowing I was probably about to break the game but I learned. IF you decide to go try it without any sort of memory management running you will have to really dial back them texture mods. 3.2gb can be filled pretty quickly. Some rules I now apply after learning the hard way. I'm carful what I install. I pay particular attention to texture sizes so no 4k textures for me. At the moment I'm not running a global land retexture an just did a 3 hour run actually playing the game. Yea I was closing in on 6gb ram usage so I went inside and saved ready for next time. For me Skyrim is now just a novelty as soon as SKSE 64 is released as a public stable beta I will be jumping ship again I want them super textures. I want them new MCM's but I also want the game to use my PC instead of just a wee bit of it lol SSE does that. Sadly I have an skse 64 bug killing any hope of getting anywhere. So until we get Vortex from here on Nexus, sable beta skse 64 and a 1st person mod I'm sticking with Skyrim. I still suffer from mod it till it breaks syndrome though lol Like a kid In a candy store with new mods. If you try crash fixes head back to Cal's modding guide he does a really good job of explaining it. The 'mod' also warns of bad enb's and can run its own memory management without skse memory blocks. Ill post a link to the actual episode its one of the later ones. Well worth watching.
  6. Try both, the ENB's on here are tweaked effects. Technically you can just run the ENB without a pre-set from Nexus. I just run ENB binaries for the memory hacks. I'm not actually interested in bringing my PC to its knee's. Adding 140 mods does that well enough. Some mods require and specific enb on top of X binary to function. Real vision is a good example. Its a great enb but they just not my thing. If we could run the memory hacks without an enb i'd be on board.
  7. NMM uses a virtual file system so the mod in question that you are trying to delete would be the one overwriting files.
  8. My SSE was butter smooth at 1st until I over modded it for my system back when it was released. FPS can be fixed depending on which video card company its from. AMD is easy to unlock the fps just turn off v-sync and apply a 59-60 fps limit with frame rate targeting control and let the game handle the rest. I actually think SSE looks a lot better with just a reshade preset than with an enb on oldrim. I also think it runs better on my system. Yes SSE has some bugs one been an fps related, one that was fixed with SSE fixes but then Bethesda went and broke it ... Why am I now back on oldrim then? well I broke sse it now has issues saving and lock ups, not sure if its installed mods or me screwing around with it for so long I broke it. Its not a HDD issue oldrim saves fine. Sadly I'm back to over modding oldrim lol. I'll go back to SSE when Vortex goes beta and reinstall the game at same time for a fresh start. Till then I'll enjoy killing oldrim lol Either way I'm not fussed. Yes i'd love to see more traffic in sse, more mod traffic might speed up 64bit mod development skyrim does have a large lead time with mods. Was oldrim as well modded as SSE this long after its release? I think SSE mod authors have to a cracking job so far. I'm waiting for one mod enhanced camera until its release I'm not overly bothered. As long as I get my daily fix at killing a skyrim, either will do I'm happy lol Down the road I suspect SSE to surpass oldrim, especially with an AMD card under the hood. That console connection. One thing I did notice was it will use resources oldrim wouldn't. I dare say if you have the RAM and a beefy enough video card it will become truly epic given time.
  9. I had same problem a few years ago. Turned out to be Realistic needs and diseases. Not sure about frostfall I still use an its fine. You need to go to the temple of Kyn in whiterun an pray to the divines to remove the curse. Actually if I remember correctly youll find a second shrine to the right as you enter the temple. The mod is fine your just 'drunk' I always had problems with not being able to find enough clean water so I drank a lot of ale all the time to quench my thirst. After a few weeks of playing like that I converted my game to iNeed. Its been so long since I used RND but check the MCM I think you can turn off drunk visuals or use an alternate effect. As for CIV V I have no idea. Try the shrine check RND MCM go play. You can also make yourself a complete alcoholic and just drink beer with no effect on you, Just poke around in the MCM it has a setting for how much you can drink before getting sloshed.
  10. DirtyWeaselmedia also has a long 35 episode skyrim modding guide on his YouTube channel. Yes its from 2016, Yes it creates a great game and yes it takes some time to learn how to use it. Investing that time in the program and its usage will pay off down the road. Don't rush it. Take the time to learn how it all works and what it can do. Trust me its worth the effort.
  11. At a glance Fnis and related mods are way too high it needs to be right at bottom of your load order just after a bashed patch. Open cities is also abit too high. same with Wet and cold Is anything overwriting XPSME? Groovtama explicitly says to not let anything over write xpsme or it will crash. Masters ESM's mods ESP's TES5Merged <-trawl google for a tutorial bashed patch <-- make a new bashed patch FNIS and mods all grouped together then update with FNIS for users. You can find tutorials in YouTube. Dual sheath DSR patch should be last thing you do. Are you using NMM or mod organiser? Do you have an ENB or ENboost running? Are they installed correctly? Are they configured correctly? Do you have enough RAM? Do you have enough VRAM? Are your INI files setup correctly? If you are having difficulty running an ENB, ENBoost will still let them memory hacks work. Do you have memory blocks configured? Is crash fixes managing memory allocation? I myself cannot run an ENB with crash fixes running in my load order but I can run ENBoost. Hope it helps
  12. Nah not really sick of it more puzzled. I want the game to run for you, I want it to run well an for you to have fun. Far as ENboost is concerned it should allow you to still run them ENB specific mods but in past experience I've found them to be more hassle than they are worth. I had Real Vision working at one point for a while but save bloat around lvl 40 ish on that particular setup ended that fun rather quickly. Was quite annoyed. As you probably are at prospect of loosing 100's of hours of play time. But we live an learn and sadly Skyrim has become so complex and the potential for different modded setup most likely runs into the billions with just mods alone. Just remembered something. Add this to your load order https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/33395?tab=description you can find a bit more about it in Dirty Weasel's 2016 series. Episode two if I recall.
  13. Yes you will need an ENB but just for the binaries for ENBoost. Lets try getting that working consider it a half way house if you will. Make sure of the following :- Skyrim.ini [Display] iPresentinertval=0 Skyrimprefs.ini [Display] bfloatpointrendertarget=0 Enblocal.ini [PROXY]EnableProxyLibrary=falseInitProxyFunctions=true <--set this one to false apparently these two settings must match so if you are using a Sweetfx preset along with an ENB they should both be set to true otherwise set them false. [Global] UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=false <--enboost switch [LIMITER]WaitBusyRenderer=falseEnableFPSLimit=false <-- fps Limit switchFPSLimit=10.0 <--We just turned off Vsync in skyrim ini's so lets limit FPS here 60 max. Yes your machine can handle more but Skyrim has some serious physics problems when the FPS goes too high. I actually make sure by setting mine to 59. Its one way of doing the job.Now fire up Skyrim an see if It runs at all. Then try some different combinations of the 3 important settings. An enb with your ini's as they are setup in your last post are as far as I can tell correct for normal ENB functionality. It should run.I been looking for this for yahttps://rd.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/73618I'm rather baffled too now. Something doesn't obviously sit well with an ENB in Skyrim but why? We missing something! That something will be obvious when its been found an we'll both feel rather silly for missing it.So to recap object for now is to try an get ENboost running (our halfway house)
  14. Very welcome, ok so you tracked it too an ENB. What video card are you running? Been a long time since I had an NVidia card in my system so I wont really be able to help with that side but maybe help with AMD side. Not sure about intel's on board stuff. Indecently my current setup wont run with a full blown ENB either. Crashes as soon as I start a new game but I think that's because I'm upscaling my desktop to 1440p and downscaling it to 1080p for Skyrim. In Beth.ini have you selected the check box for an ENB? Make sure your INI files are being setup with Beth.ini you can direct the program to where that ini lives otherwise you can play with it all day long an it will just write new ini files in my documents. Same goes for a new profile in MO you need to create a new set of INI files even if you don't use Beth.ini so I rather use Beth.ini an I keep forgetting too lol To answer that important question 'do I need an enb?' Kinda yes you do even If its just running as ENBoost ( how I run it) for the memory hacks to work. You could try run the game with no ENB no ENBoost ect but you will crash a lot especially with a lot of texture mods its a 32bit program with a 3.2gb ram limit After as many years as I messed about with skyrim I don't care how powerful your PC is without them memory hacks you cannot run a lot of mods. A high level vanilla toon will strain the game engine to breaking point without them memory hacks and skse in tow.
  15. IF it wont run at all, ENB checks out memory blocks checks out the ESM's are clean ENBlocal.ini works then and only if you cannot run the game would I reinstall skyrim. Back up your mod organiser folder and remove the game also make sure you remove your ini files from Documents/mygames/skyrim. One last thing to check is steam installed in default directory? How much hassle will it be too move it from my programs? (default location). I think Gamer poets has a video on his you tube channel? If you end up reinstalling I would seriously take a peek at his channel's ''modding skyrim from start to finish'' play list.
  16. You still crashing with just Skyrim and DLC ESM's along with SKSE? Skyrim ESM Update ESM Dawnguard ESM Hearthfire ESM Dragonborn ESM USLEP SKSE Scripts Alternate start live another live? Is the CDT instant? Does it load the world space then crash after a few seconds? Ability for the game to run that above example is absolutely essential. If they don't work you have 0-nil chance with 243 mods loaded.
  17. At least you know its not the vanilla game which is a huge step forward? Time to get brutal and try reverse engineer that load order. Start at bottom and disable them a few at a time until the crash stops. This might require lots of new toons until you find that one mod that's killing things (why I suggested ASLAL) It can also take a long time to figure out. It could be literally anything at this point, Use lots of LOOTage as you rebuild. Maybe before starting or trying on next go run TESv Edit to check that load order. I have had this problem myself but was totally unrelated to any mod you are running. Which mods in your load order edit the city? Does this crash happen just in cities? Are you running conflicting weather mods. Are the weather mods in the right load order? Do you have all the patches you require? Make sure ASLAL is at bottom of the load order in both left and right panes. Make sure ESM's an ESP's match up both left and right panes in Mod organizer as best you can don't worry about textures mods. You will still need an ENB to run the memory hacks just make sure in your ENBlocal.ini its switched off [GLOBAL] UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=true
  18. Yes a clean install wont hurt anything. But its a huge download. Until you know vanilla Skyrim is actually dead don't do it its a waste of time if its not really the problem. You can verify the files and see if you can get into the game. Copy your current profile. Rename it and deactivate all mods in this new test profile. Its isolated so wont touch your main profile. Now reactivate the game files if you have MO managing them. Now activate SKSE so you just have Skyrim, Update ESM, Dawnguard ESM Hearthfire's ESM and Dragonborn ESM along with SKSE loaded and see if the game starts up. If you want to quickly test some stuff out activate Unbound and any dependencies for unbound so you can dart straight into the world. Without having to go through start every time. watch this if you do decide to reinstall Skyrim.
  19. No I think its now time to put the save to bed. Dirty Weasel's 2016 modding tutorial will give you a very solid baseline and useable load order. I highly recommend at least his 1st 7 episodes bare minimum and my current load order was based around it. You can follow it all the way to the end if you wish, and will learn a lot. Just as a test for yourself follow his 1st 4 episodes then do a run test and see if you can get game to load a new toon. If Skyrim wont run with just baseline skse functionality, you have a problem that isn't load order related. Lets fix that problem before you move onto the rest. Yes Skyrim needs to work 1st the tutorial isn't a magic pill to make the game suddenly do its job sometimes you need to give it a bit of nudge. If you can get Skyrim running again with just the bare basics you might be able to restore your old save but its not recommended to carry on playing it with such a vastly different load order. Adding mods or even switching a mod on or off or adjusting load order can be the difference between stability and crashy hell. That's why as soon as something manifests its self as an issue or potential issue I generally delete the save. Not many of my saves get past level 20 and I generally don't keep them. Mods and load order can change so quickly as new updates are uploaded I don't feel they are worth keeping and crashing your way through does you no good either. Yes I'm still looking for that sweet spot load order lol.
  20. A few things I do when testing, (bare in mind I use alternate start), one is to make sure the Vanilla opening works. Another is to check I can exit the game 1st to the main menu and secondly the game itself. These 3 give me a clue when limbering up for my final assault on a real play through. If the game is crashing with a level 1 character when exiting to main menu you have major problems ahead. Same with a full exit of the game. Might just be my now ancient PC :(
  21. You got no idea how many times I ran upto bleak falls barrow then it just breaks lol
  22. Worse case you loose a lvl 44 save. But trying some stuff out might save the game an make it play smooth and reliable. Takes me a week to 'fix' up a load order including all the testing I deem needed some of which is actual play time to try break things. If I cant break it I can play the game an its great. Well worth the effort. Only then will I commit to a 'serious' play through. I still haven't finished the game either lol
  23. Nah the game isn't screwed you are using MO after all  Worse it can ever be right now is a bad SKSE and or ENB install or incorrectly setup ENBlocal.ini. Uninstalling all mods is just a click it writes nothing into the game folders and is why MO is preferred tool for skyrim. How ever you may have remnants of old mods from NMM. Download this https://rd.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/69787 Will allow you to setup the ini files for an enb its also a damn useful tool. The video at the bottom is for Skyrim special edition using MO 2 but same applies here. Just need to direct Bethini to where your ini file resides in MO. This is one of them occasions where you don't install a tool and run it through Mod organiser you point the tool to where the INI's live. Setting up the enblocal.ini will require some research. I'd start with STEP Wiki here. http://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:ENBlocal_INI This needs to be setup manually I don't believe a tool was ever written to automatically set it up with 100% accuracy. Also while your on Cal's YouTube channel do a search for his 2016 series on modding Skyrim. Its a great resource and in my opinion a must watch for anybody wishing to get serious about modding Skyrim. Good luck
  24. TES5Edit will tell you if something is icky with a load orders Its my go too when I 1st encounter something usually because loot doesn't pick up everything. You could try a save cleaner utility from here in downloads section I've used them before an they pick out any orphan scripts killing your save It then allows you to clean them. Its not always perfect but it can get you back in the game to allow you to make a cleaner save. If you run a save cleaner, make getting inside some small. Barn, house, cottage anything or anywhere with nothing much happening then save. Then exit the game and re load it.Make that save (providing it now works) as a main testing point from here on in with this character. I've linked to the one I tried a year or so ago, It seemed to work well. You'll probably have to direct the utility to your MO saved profile when setting it up an might need to show MO where the tool's exe file is located. Make a backup of the 'dead' save before you try this just in case. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/31724 My advice to you would be to make a new test character with Frostfall lower down in priority. Set time scale to 1000. Spawn some bad guys Player.placeatme and stress the game out in the open with all mods activated. All MCM's configured and all weather systems running. Test things are working then worry about cleaning the save. 1 make new toon. 2 head to riverwood. 3 open console ` <tilde key 4 type TGM ( that will turn on god mode) 5 exit console ` 6 setup all mcm's get everything as close as you can remember to your play through setting's 7 open console type help bandit or dragur or what ever you fancy testing it with. I use bandits 8 After typing help it will list all the bandits ect in a long list. You can scroll up down with pageup/down keys 9 type player.placeat me a number and add a number afterwards I usually try 10, 20, 30 ect don't go too high you'll force the game to crash. Then kill em. That will stress the game somewhat. Do you have SKSE setup and installed directly into the game's files or did you add the scripts folder via MO per Gopher's tutorial? Do you have memory blocks setup? Again you can find a tutorial on Gopher's YouTube channel Are you using an ENB? Is the ENB setup correctly? Is your ENBlocal.Ini configured and tuned to your PC? Are you using a save manager? This explains memory blocks. Not sure if you watched it or not. A lot to do, research and test. Never forget you can keep this profile in MO and the save untouched, while you test and try track down any issues. The profile your game is on is isolated. Another thing to remember is you haven't killed the vanilla game for the same reason. Again Good luck and don't be afraid to test things out. Its all a learning process.
  25. Did you add mods part way through this play through? Can you roll back to an earlier save? Its better to loose 20 levels and repeat stuff if you can load an old save than to right off a level 41 save. I've been going around in this same cycle for years and I'm sure we are not alone. Can you create a new character? Is a new character stable? Quick glance you have campfire loading after Frostfall. Campfire is a master file for Frostfall and thus Frostfall should be loading after it. Anywhere really but never before it. Try Tes5 edit see if it can load current load order as it stands now. But from a cursory glance it seems to be campfire/frostfall load order issue. LOOT does a great job but its never perfect. Hope it works and good luck
