  3. When you generate a bsa in the CK and it shows a file list, you can drag files into that.
  4. And if it's an AoE, you then need to open the spell record again and ok out or the radius will be 0.
  5. In response to post #24743634. #24743894 is also a reply to the same post. The free market would have dealt with this just fine. But the community of internet warriors preferred to harrass people instead. Disgusting.

Yes, when you dangle money in front of people and then take it away, they feel they missed out on something.

When mod authors are allowed to profit from their work, people will mod ONLY for money. Have you looked at your phone's app store lately? The Porkshop was meant to be exactly this model. Given the "quality" of the first wave of mods, which were all Jim f*#@ing Sterling Son level bad except for SkyUI, it is not a stretch to see a future where anyone actually attempting to use the system for its intended purpose and offer advanced mods would get drowned in a deluge of s#*! designed to make precisely $400.

  9. In response to post #24585729. Star rating depends on number of votes as well. You need 50 votes iirc to get 4 stars. Also you can bet I'd give the competition 1 star when they're still trying to get off the ground so they sink lol.
  10. In response to post #24584199. #24584419, #24584599 are all replies on the same post. The Workshop discourages making mods that need compatibility patches. When two mods need the same records, the most influential mod wins. Simple as that. If Apocalypse were a paid mod, I wouldn't bother with the whole Litem script to dynamically add spellbooks at runtime. Easier to saddle everyone else with the problem instead. If they can't solve it, that's one competitor down. GG.

Good to see Apoc was dislodged from the #1 magic mod spot because the f*#@ING Workshop doesn't have a way to add update instructions other than slash and burn the entire mod page and start over.
  12. The problem with the mod scene is that there's no real reward. My old Diablo 2 mod had a real COMMUNITY around it. Skyrim? All you get is issue reports or meaningless drive-by compliments. People just don't give a s#*! about what they download. So the Nexus added welfare endorsements to give mod creators the illusion that someone cares. This boosted a few egos with unpopular mods but also reduced the meaning of endorsements from "I really like this mod!" (albeit the Facebook definition of "like" instead of the human one) to "I downloaded another mod and your mod wasn't crap". At this point, what are we even doing it for? I can totally understand people selling their mods. You'd have to be a dolt to give something for free if you could get dem benjamins for it instead. You upset a few anonymous users who didn't particularly care anyway. So what? And those users proceed to slam mod creators on Steam, not out of principle but because they don't want to pay for stuff and therefore the mod creator must be inhuman for even suggesting it. Mods are dead, more popular than ever but dead. GG.
  13. Valkyrie is a restoration master spell in Apoc and gives 250 magicka for every enemy killed for 120 seconds.
  14. I made a few scripts. Allow me to jump in about how "terrible" Papyrus is. Firstly, there seems to be some kind of concurrent thread limit. An innocent function call works fine until you have many scripts running, then it doesn't. Secondly Papyrus as a whole is so far removed from the metal that performance is nonexistent. Function calls are very slow. You pretty much have to optimise your code (and be aware of what exactly is taking inordinate amounts of time) or you will hog the script processor. In the end, adding more scripts will break random things without it being any one mod's fault. Some mods are unacceptably heavy though and should be optimised (at which point you run into save pollution ofc). And because badly made scripts don't directly mess up the game, many modders aren't even aware or think "well, it works for me". Others then get blamed when THEIR mod faceplants because some other idiot registered for 0.01 second updates on all actors in a 200 foot radius.
  15. Does not contain Apocalypse, list obviously incomplete. Jk
  16. In response to post #23595219. #23595369, #23595554, #23725649, #23781804, #23812314, #23813704, #23819184, #23825634, #23826809 are all replies on the same post. I disagree, the idea that mod creators can do no wrong needs to stop. The players trust the creator, not with their money but with their time. Sure, bugs can happen. But too many mod creators can't be bothered to test or fix major issues that invalidate hours and hours of effort (save bloat, broken perks etc) and instead tell the users to go suck eggs because it's a free mod and they should be thankful the creator felt like uploading anything at all. Mod creators like that honestly don't have the right to complain when someone makes an angry post about their mod.
  17. In response to post #23829199. True. There is no reason not to allow trading mods for money, because it's a free market and if people are willing to buy and people are willing to sell, who is going to stand between them? There is too much government intervention in the world already. My main concern is that it will lead to feuds between mod teams and developers; those starving artists may not lose anything when another mod team next door releases another DLC sized mod, but some types of mods are mutually exclusive (overhauls, etc) and money would provide a very strong incentive for keyboard warriors to try and destroy each other. Fix that and I'm in.
  18. Yes if you haven't spent any levelup points because it resets them.
  19. That's a setting in the options, something about dynamically loading cells, right?
  20. I realised something else. There's 3 popular magic mods plus PerMa (which can't be uploaded to the Workshop due to the patcher). None of them can ask money because people would migrate to the other mods instead. Unless I could come to an, erm, business agreement with the creators of those other mods. Something like, "Yo, how about we ALL set our prices at $2.99?" CA$HMON€¥
  21. IF PlayerRef.GetRace() == ArgonianRace || ArgonianRaceVampire The second condition is "ArgonianRaceVampire" as in "is ArgonianRaceVampire not null". It isn't because you filled out the parameter. So this always returns yes. What you're trying to do is IF PlayerRef.GetRace() == ArgonianRace || PlayerRef.GetRace() == ArgonianRaceVampire
