Fallout 4 lockup (completely freezes)
TheGodFormerlyKnownAsJohnX replied to icestormng's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Just throwing this out there, but 10 Doesn't dump the VRAM cache, which for most computers is I think 8gb.... If this fills up your VRAM can crash because of the game. It's a lot faster with 4k. You have to manually program Task Scheduler to dump this periodically or you will see crashes every time you play Fallout. -
The recent update doesn't work for me. It crashed Vortex app and would not reinitialize, even when running as Admin. It also installed into Program Files folder instead of Program Files (86). I had to uninstall and reinstall the March update into the right folder to get it working again.

SSE nightmare of facegen data
TheGodFormerlyKnownAsJohnX replied to shadowfox999's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
Okay.... I have a follower I made from an Oldrim character preset for newrim, but when I pack the custom facegen, it doesn't work in the game. I overwrite the necessary files, but I just get pixel-face.... -
I'd like to ask you about using yourr Sakura tattoos for my followers on console, if you'll allow it.

SSE nightmare of facegen data
TheGodFormerlyKnownAsJohnX replied to shadowfox999's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
I have recently discovered that while one won't recognize the tint mask and thus gives the Dark Face Bug, another has bad textures that in Nifskope either don't work or turn the mesh black.... not the nif, because I tried the one followers textures on the second and they work (except the face tint)... and the second one crashes CK if I even try to edit inventory, so of course I am not able to "update it for SE".... -
SSE nightmare of facegen data
TheGodFormerlyKnownAsJohnX replied to shadowfox999's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
I'm having a problem with "missing" tint masks that gives a standalone follower the Dark Face.... I've tried exporting facegen data and replacing with old and repackaging, I've tried editing it into the head.nif.... I'm getting nowhere. CK really doesn't like completely custom followers, -

SSE How to pack Skyrim SE mods
TheGodFormerlyKnownAsJohnX replied to PrometheusTS's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
Make backup copy of your mod.Change copy of your mods file name mod.esm to mod.esp then Use SSEEdit and remove the Record Flag ESM and save. Should work. Shouldn't even have to do that. There's a step-by-step tutorial at creationkit.com on properly cleaning files in TES5Edit (obvioulsy applies to SSEEdit) about cleaning the .ESM files of the DLC's, and any .ESPs you might have. Follow that or whater link is provided to you by LOOT or MO, or BOSS if you still use that. -
[LE] Skyrim Tutorials
TheGodFormerlyKnownAsJohnX replied to LHammonds's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
I would PM the Hoth-man on how he does it. He is a pretty reasonable and may be able to point you in the right direction. If he isn't busy, of course. -
Any chance there will be updated tutorials from some of the modders still around, i.e. you?

Not really. It's free for a short period if you register as a college student. I have been using a free version since 2012 and I haven't finished college yet.

Creation Kit for Skyrim Special Edition
TheGodFormerlyKnownAsJohnX replied to TerrorFox1234's topic in Site Updates
In response to post #44092915. #44122270, #44136770, #44188110, #44205100, #44302475 are all replies on the same post. First, it's not "illegal", as neither Bethesda, Nexus nor Steam are legislative bodies that pass laws. It's simply against the terms of conduct agreement. Second, as long as an individual has the original mod author's permission, or the OA specifically states on the mod page that it is free to use, than any individual can port. Instead of belittling commenters with half-correct statements, it would make the community as a whole better to properly inform them. And there is nothing in the terms on any site stating against making porting requests, as long as either the original author or someone permitted does it. I find your ignorance displeasing. -
