  1. No worries. It's not that customization is required, it's whether someone has already created something that provides functionality more-or-less equivalent and uploaded it to the UE marketplace. If so, lots of functionality can just be 'bolted on' to the core UE engine and often at a lower cost than creating it from scratch.
  2. I noted your tactical avoidance of my previous question. Bugs can be due to poor QA and deficient workflow processes, not necessarily due to the engine itself. The impression I get from your comment is that the Radiant AI system is somehow innovative or difficult to code/implement. It isn't. You could probably find a similar system in the UE marketplace and even if not it would be relatively straightforward to create one in UE itself.
  3. I can't see Microsoft wanting to give away 5% of its gross revenues across a number of game IPs in order to use Unreal Engine, although they could undoubtedly negotiate a lower percentage with Epic. With Microsoft's talent pool and resources and particularly with the recent additions to its stable of game studios it would make more sense long-term to invest in its own proprietary tech, whether that's existing game engines they've acquired, or developing new ones. But if they did use UE it would be awesome for modding I would think.
  4. We've all got stuff to do, that's why resources such as VNV exist to help people avoid common problems and save everyone time because it's less likely you end up here asking for help.
  5. I had a feeling you'd be back. You didn't read the VNV guide carefully enough, in particular the 'mods to avoid section'. Use NV Tick Fix instead of NV Stutter Remover Did you install the 4GB patch (not needed if using the GOG version of the game)? Do not use Zan Autopurge (refer VNV Guide or the posts tab on the mod's page as to why) and use the ini tweaks specified in the VNV guide instead Why are you using Simple Interior Lighting Overhaul and Interior Lighting Overhaul? Sort your plugins using LOOT and use your mod manager to export your load order to post here and please, use spoiler tags This is a useful resource for resolving conflicts.
  6. This doesn't specifically help with your problem but may help to avoid future problems - see my post in this thread: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/11823883-consistent-fnv-hang/
  7. Read this thread: https://www.afkmods.com/index.php?/topic/6133-xedit-yellow-warnings-safe-to-remove/#comment-183720 It contains the admonition not to clean masters from Arthmoor, the lead on the Unofficial Patch Team, and smr1957, from Steam Workshop. If, as you claim in another thread, you have 45 years experience in the software development industry, you should be acutely aware that appeals to authority are seldom a valid method of resolving issues of a technical nature nor for giving advice re same. I think you need to get up-to-date before contributing further here - given your most recent post you seem to have totally ignored both the information at the link I posted and showler's post above. In other words: RTFM. Also, Arthmoor's recommendation to not clean the masters was (AFAIK) always given on the assumption one is using the unofficial patch - a fairly important caveat.
  8. Again, citation needed. OP made no claims about mod authors who play the games they mod - perhaps a reading comprehension class might assist you here. Here's how it works: you provide the evidence that two assertions should be connected. You're the one making the claim so the burden of proof is on you. Also, since you seem to be psychoanalysing mod authors, perhaps you might like to provide to the group proof of your credentials as a mental health professional...?
  9. Citation needed. That which can be asserted without evidence, can also be dismissed, without evidence.... OP provided the evidence. It is up to you if you accept it or not. OP didn't comment on the extent to which mod authors play the games they mod or their motivations for modding. You did that. Since you've provided no evidence to substantiate your claims, it's highly likely that you're expressing nothing more than confirmation bias at best, and utter BS at worst.....
  10. Citation needed. That which can be asserted without evidence, can also be dismissed, without evidence....
  11. Discussion from this thread, relevant part excerpted below: Given the nature of large reference bugs, this is an extremely valid reason to clean all the Bethesda masters, regardless of the previous discussion. Large Reference bugs are well documented as causing flickering as well as other graphical issues, and without cleaning them, or patching them (a lot of needless work), these glitches will prevail. This is especially more important with the new AE Creation Club content. I am therefore recommending we continue to advise and instruct users of our guides to clean these.
  12. FNV needs a bit of help to get it stable and fix the game/engine bugs and mod users need help to ensure they know about mods that are no longer recommended to use and can cause problems. It doesn't look like you're using some of the recommended mods, and you're using some of the not recommended mods. I recommend using the Viva New Vegas guide which will set up FNV to be stable and relatively crash-free and also suggest better alternatives to mods that can be problematic. It also has a useful 'mods to avoid' section. Alternatively, Gopher has created a Collection which covers most of the fixes which should be more or less a one-click install if you're a premium member. However, it's not as comprehensive as VNV. Lastly, STEP also has a FNV modding guide which covers more aspects of the game than VNV but will take considerably longer to complete.
  13. QoL = Quality of Life enhancers. Mods and utilities that save time or relieve you from some of the more mundane aspects of the game or modding it. The beauty of STEP is that because it is generally limited to 'essential' stuff, you can use it as a base on which you build out your preferred Skyrim experience. Vortex and MO2 both allow users to create profiles, which means you can have different modding setups and swap between them. So once you've completed the STEP install, you can save that profile as (say) "STEP Foundation", then copy that profile and continue to add other mods. If you muck things up you can always revert back to the original profile and start over. Happy days!
  14. The most important part of the PC for a heavily modded game is the water pump. A pump that can maximise the throughput of water is going to spin the turbines on the GPU and CPU at max RPM which will in turn generate higher FPS. Every other component to this is secondary. Just make sure you have good pressure seals on the pipes - water and electronics don't play nice together.....
  15. Vortex and MO2 do more or less the same thing but in slightly different ways. For the novice user, I would have recommended Vortex as it tries to stop you from doing silly things and is a bit more hand-holdy than MO2. Many people have a preference for one over the other and some can get rather heated in their defence or criticism of one or the other. In the end they're just tools and both are perfectly competent mod managers. In terms of modding your game, I recommend starting with STEP which is a curated list of mods containing all the 'essential' bug & engine fixes and QoL enhancers with step-by-step instructions on how to install them whilst still remaining as true to vanilla Skyrim as possible. And an active community if you need help. Best of luck...
  16. There's a bunch of city overhaul comparisons on YouTube and they usually post the mod list in the video description or a linked Google doc. You might find something suitable there. Which street overhaul did you decide on?
  17. The first time I tried to install NVSE via Vortex a couple of years ago, I followed the instructions in Gopher's Vortex tutorial video and it didn't work. So I had to install it manually and create the NVSE widget for the FNV dashboard, IIRC. I did a fresh install two days ago and it worked fine, possibly because I have the following options enabled under the settings menu: Deploy mods when Enabled Install mods when downloaded Enable Mods when installed
  18. It'll be TTW. It's one of Gopher's collections. I didn't say it was a bug.... And the other questions.....?
  19. Refer image. Also, I'm logged in to NM, but I still have to log in to collections, and I also have to log in to the modding wiki. But why...?!? And: what/where is Nexus Mods Next? Perhaps you could link to it in the blue message box on the modding wiki page which refers to it. (I don't have Vortex installed on this device).
  20. If it's an often-used function it should be above the fold. It's just good design and saves everyone time.
  21. There is a search box - it's below the fold. You didn't see it because you didn't scroll down far enough which only proves my point that it needs to be above the fold....
