  1. It's been a known bug for awhile now....some people say it's a NVIDIA card problem, some say it's running too many textures/mods, while I've also heard it's a VRAM issue....I usually just restart the game and it fixes itself, sometimes I restart the computer as well.
  2. I like my weapons, like I like my women....hot and automatic!
  3. So, your article struck a nerve and I turned off Adblocker and Ghosterly.....the site slowed down to a crawl immediately. I will look into the one off payment, but as for now the Adblockers go back on.
  4. It's most likely an incompatible texture in one of your mods causing this issue....there seems to be some problems with the new patch and some textures that is causing saved games to CTD. Start uninstalling all of your mods that you have downloaded or updated in the last few days and work your way backwards till either you solve the problem or you run out of mods. Once you are able to load a viable saved game, then start adding them back until you pinpoint the problem mod. Once you have found out what mod is causing the CTD, go to that mod page and see if there is an updated file that you can download, if not, then you will have to play without that mod.
  5. It is the 1.3.47 update. It went out of Beta at the beginning of the month. A small number of mods had incompatible textures, so updating your mods to the latest versions should help prevent any unexpected CTDs. I can attest to a texture problem causing me to CTD when attempting to load a saved game...in my case it was: www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9942/?, the box mag mesh was the culprit. Crazy thing is, if I did not use the gun or mod in a play through (I started a new game which also became "corrupted" once I crafted the weapon and mod) everything was fine. IE, all of my older saved games that did not use the weapon (it was downloaded long after I had finished) worked fine. Newer saved games with the weapon crafted CTD'd, newer saves without the weapon crafted and old saves were fine. I bring all of this up to illustrate just how crazy and intricate the mods and textures can be. I got lucky, in that I only needed to uninstall 3 mods to find the culprit, your detective work may not give you results as quickly as mine did, so keep investigating!
  6. Ok, that was fairly easy to solve...on my end anyway. It seems that this was the offending mod:http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9942/? . It even says that some people experience CTDs in the description, DOH! The problem is, it's not until you build/install the actual mod for the weapon in game that the issue presents itself, that's why some older saved games work because you have not yet built the weapon and modded it in game. Once you build the weapon, it then "corrupts" your save (for lack of a better word). Uninstall the mod from NMM, the saved games are playable again. Hope this helps some people.
  7. I've recently run into this issue as well.....I can load older saves fine and in fact, can play then for hours without an issue, but the moment I save them, they become "corrupted", in that they always crash with the newer saves. This affects even a new game started. I am about to attempt a mod by mod uninstall (cry), starting with newest mods installed and see if this solves the problem. Will report back with results.
  8. The game seems to run fine for me....my problem is the NMM is acting all stupid. Seems everytime I attempt to uninstall a mod the manager freezes up and crashes...sometimes I have to re-install a mod a couple of times before NMM will accept it and let me play.
  9. Just got hit with this bug myself....it's strange though, because I can see and interact with all robots I placed in my settlements before I experienced the bug, but unable to see/interact with hostile robots as well as not being to place robots at new settlements. This has only happened within the last few days, so if it is a mod conflict, it is probably one that I updated recently.
  10. Ok, so found Fallout4custom.ini.........it's in Documents/My Games/Fallout 4
  11. I don't have Fallout4custom.ini either, but while I am able to use mods, I am tired of NMM chastising me to change it everytime I install something. Is there anyway of getting that .ini file back?
  12. So sad. I'm gonna just say this is a FPARPG (First Person Action Role Playing Game) and call it a day.....somebody smarter than me need to clean up that name though......
  13. It is my understanding that this will not be possible (or at the very least very hard) to do until the Creation Kit is released later next year. Of course, it's just what I've read, as I am not a modder myself.
  14. actually there is a mod that allows you to upload music from your computer into your game: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/15024/? if this was made instead then all this copyright stuff wouldnt be a problem since people can use their own music in their own game. Oh, no doubt, there are ways to get around it....my point was just that he could use it for himself (in a single player game) and could easily get away with it, without all of the fuss. I don't agree with alot of the onerous copyright laws, but I also get why Nexus has to be careful. I get both points of few.
  15. Not to really get into all of the legalsleaze and all of the arguing....but can't you (the OP) just make it for yourself and be done with it? I doubt we have come to the point of armed strike forces storming into out private homes and "taking you out" because you converted a 7 year video of a 31 year old song into your personal game (although I'm sure some demented people would be fine with that). The problem is that you are re-distrubting that to a public website, who because of paranoid lawyers and uptight corporations, have to walk a very careful line on what they distribute to the public. I get your point. I really do....but I get their point as well. I think it would be awesome to have that playing in the intro, but unless I learn how to convert and incorparate it myself, I doubt I will ever have the pleasure.
  16. Yup, gonna give it one play through as vanilla, box it up, and wait for the mods to start rollling in. Now if Beth is stupid enough to go down the paid mods road, then they are dead to me, as they will be dead to alot of other people.
  17. So how does one recruit new people? I put up 3 or 4 of those recruiter stations, and thus far only one ugly ghoul guy has come to my settlement. My cha is pretty low, so does that factor into it?
  18. I think many people were expecting to see a game on par with a heavily modded Skyrim....which, of course, is ludicrous. I get some of the complaints: dialogue wheel, poor UI design, that whole port from console feeling......BUT, many of those things will be fixed with mods or maybe even offcial patches. The whole console port thing is here to stay, I am sorry to say.....companies, in general, are heading in that direction, so the days of full on PC games are quickly coming to a close. So far I'm enjoying the game, but was always more of an Elder Scrolls kind of guy, so my expectations are no where near as off the charts as some.
  19. So when will NMM support FO4? Thus far it's not even on the scanned for games list.....not griping, mind you, just wondering.....basically so I can stop scanning for it every day, lol!
  20. S.T.E.A.M is just a glorified DRM system that gaming companies have sold out to in order to ATTEMPT to stop piracy....of course games are still pirated and distributed without much touble, so it's an epic fail in that regard. It's instusive and a pain in the arse, but unfortunately, here to stay. I wished more companies would go with a GOG type system, but alas Valve has deeper pockets than most, so the big devs will always go with them.
  21. In response to post #29033209. If you plan on playing just Skyrim and older games that it supports, then yea, stay with what you have....BUT if you are planning FO4 and newer games, then the new version is all you'll have, as the 0.50.xx versions and below will no longer be supported. You can DL the new version separately, rename it and use it for FO4 and any new games that will be supported by NMM in the future, whilst keeping your old set up as it is.
  22. In response to post #29005664. #29006474 is also a reply to the same post. Meh, most people were gonna do that anyway. It has been stated that you can run two instances of NMM, as long as one of them has been re-named....which means you can run the stable version for Skyrim (0.56.1) and the newest version for FO4 (0.60.8 and beyond) with the caveat that 0.56.1 will be no longer supported.
  23. In response to post #28966499. I just did and it was fine....I waited while using 0.06.4 for awhile too, but had no issues when updating to .8
  24. In response to post #28911349. #28911939 is also a reply to the same post. They have said that they will NOT support pre .60 versions any longer....BUT you can run two instances of NMM if you rename one of the folders....ie, use the last .50 version to run Skyrim (if you don't care about profiling, of course) and the new version to run FO4 and beyond.
  25. In response to post #28860284. #28881684, #28883389, #28883474, #28891134, #28891709, #28896439 are all replies on the same post. They say that is working as intended....just not sure those were very good intentions
