  1. yeah, thats what Im saying: on the "hidden" and removed mods, that button isnt there. So now how do I remove them?
  2. So I was doing some cleaning, and noticed that I had several files where the author had either removed or hidden the file. How do I "untrack" such mods, that dont have the button to hit?
  3. As long as its either/or its not love. The best relationships start as friendships.
  4. from one point of view I could say ethics never influences my choice, but from a different angle, it could be said its the single driving factor. I bought the Deadpool game. I know perfectly well who deadpool is, and what I was getting. Some days you just have to go kill a few hundred people with twin sledge-hammers, and if I do it on a game, I dont have to try washing the blood out of my favorite shirt later. I like Skyrim for the fact that I can load up one of my saves, and just go on a random killing or pickpocket spree. Or Ratchet and Clank, where I try to break everything I can. These are games; I play them to let off frustration, aggression, and do all the things Id never do in real life.
  5. David Eddings, in his series The Mallorian (hope I spelled that right) wrote of an interesting system: The day you were sworn into office, all your worldly possessions were confiscated, sold, and the money added to the general treasury. You were provided all your needs as an upper class citizen, but it was free; you owned nothing and got paid nothing. You served your term, with an option of one re-election (iirc). When you finished your term, they looked at the percent growth in (I cant remember if it was economy, GDP, or treasury) and used that as the set interest they owed you per year served in addition to your funds held in escrow when you took office. If the govt didnt make a profit, neither did you; if it deficit spent, you lost money. And you couldnt use accounting tricks or just raise taxes. You had to guide the government to a real surplus to get paid. In his book, most people worked their entire lived to make enough money to buy their way out of being forced to serve as politicians in that government.
  6. I hate economics because a very large portion of the pseudo-science is garbage. But there is one point it makes that is very true: that which you subsidize will continue. There have been no real innovations in "green" technology since the 70s, and its for a very simple reason. Thats when the lobbyists paid the government to write standards for the various equipment of each type. So everyone focused on how to work best and game the system under the govt regulations, rather than looking for better solutions period. Its very much the difference between handing you a plot of dirt and saying "be productive" versus handing you the same plot of dirt and saying "built a better convenience store." Ironically, we're finding one of the best low-environmental-impact energy generators is the undershot water-wheel, very similar to whats used in Skyrim. And its been around since the ancient Greeks, with a slightly more primitive version used by the ancient Egyptians. There are versions built for use in central africa that can produce enough power to run 2 large US houses off of a simple stream (5 gal/min flow produces over 5KWH of electricity) But there are no subsidies for it, so it isnt developed.
  7. Assumption 1 In 2 dimensional math, we know that slope is a sub-function of X and Y; defined as the change of y over the change in X. You must have both dimensions to have slope. Assumption 2 Time is not a man-made construct as commonly believed. Anything that can be trained proves it has memory, and therefore has some limited concept of time. So time is a real variable, not a construct. Assumption 3 We exist in (at least 3) dimensional space; X, Y, and Z. Now for the questions: If you have a cube-built building, each floor has 4 rooms, a central elevator to change floors, and 3 floors (all chosen for simplicity's sake) A movement from room 101 to 303 (bottom corner diagonally to top opposite corner) you have shifted all three dimensions. But it takes time to make that move. So, is Time a sub-function of the 3 dimensions (as slope is to 2D) or is it a 4th dimension? That is: Is the change in time inherent to the change in place? (and yes, you can have a zero change in the 3D while still having time change, the same way you can have zero or undefined slope) Or is time a separate dimension that you are moving through additionally, much like how in 2D space you are technically moving on the Z axis even though you dont change it? Could time be made up of multiple variables (we will call them A and B for simplicity's sake), with your decisions shifting where and how A and B intersect to determine events? (this comes from the "infinite possibilities" theory) Or, given genetic make-up and upbringing, (or religion, if you prefer) is your path mostly "destined" at birth, making both the past and the future fairly linear?
  8. I want to make a fun "quest", possibly with an achievement if I can figure that out. The Bards leap at Lost Valley redoubt was the inspiration for this; I want to make several other places for you to leap into the water, each from weirder or higher places. I know how to make the places, and I think Ive figured out how to map-mark them. but I cant figure out how to set the quest, and have no clue about an achievement. For the achievement, I was thinking about tinkering with 3jous "Achieve that", but I cant seem to figure it out. Yeah, my programing skills are non-existant. If anyone can point me to some non-youtube tutorials (my dinosaur of a laptop has trouble streaming vid and CK at the same time) I would be grateful.
  9. With my bad memory, I cant gove exact details, so I dont know if this will help, but..... There are supposed to be two settings in the ini file that control map borders. I dont know how to toggle clouds on and off, but Ice Penguin first did that with a map back even before the CK came out, and he seems tom still be around. Distant LoD uses another 2 settings on the ini file very similar to the ones I mentioned above. Once you have your borders set, you can decorate any LoD outside of the borders. http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Removing_In-Game_Borders tells how to set on and off. Hope some of this was helpful.
  10. The holistic approach says that evil is simply the absence of good; that without the proper teaching, you dont know to repress your desires. The most simplified version of this argument says Look at a 2 year old. They are developed enough to be "normal" humans, but uneducated in any form of society, morality, etc. They act out selfishly in greed, violence, destruction, whatever (basically, toddlers are chaotic neutral/evil depending on if its your kid or someone else's  ) They dont know better, so we forgive and teach. Besides, they are small enough that no real harm usually results from these actions. Now, put that same "toddler" pure-nature-man mentality in an adult. Then you have evil. I'll cover more later.
  11. Ok, another one Anyone know where I can find the reference for thane weapons? I want to try changing from a random leveled enchanted to a fixed special model with a fixed enchantment
  12. I guess Im hung up on that idea of playing soccer with Braith's head. I need to ask the community to make a mod for that
  13. "Garbage" - a mod that hasnt worked properly for months to years, for pretty much anyone. Neither manual installers NOR auto installers can get it to function There are endless reasons for this, and claiming "User error" is the whining of lazy authors. "Too out of date" - When the mod in question is dependent on A) out-dated versions of Skyrim that are no longer compatible with the current functions B) mods that no longer exist (for a variety of reasons) C) mods that were reworked and no longer compatible "broken" - more than half the comments section is filled with bug reports, errors, and complaints of parts NOT WORKING And I would agree with you, if these mods were completed. But they arent, and few ever will be. Im not speaking of mods like Shenks thievery overhaul (#10336) which, in spite of being 4 years old is finished, solid, and works perfectly. But look at Lost colony of Akavir (#25426) that has been inactive for 2 years; unfinished and unstable. But at least the author is still in the community, having checked in just a week ago. Dragon717 made 2 mods, both of Tifa from FF7. He left the community back in 2012, according to his page (yet his mods were somehow updated in 2013. how odd) His mods are dead (*he wont be back to work on them) and broken (they do not work properly, nor are they stable). Why keep them? In general, I would agree. A stable, working mod from December of 2011 would need to be updated when A) the CK came out B) for each DLC C) to stay compatible with any changes made to Dependent files. we're discussing mods that arent/werent stable/finished.
  14. Since the beginning of computers, there has been one tried and true way to massively improve performance. Clean up and delete the trash. The less BS clogging your resources, the more resources you have for other tasks. At least half the mods in Skyrim alone (and thats some 48K mods, iirc) are several years out of date, broken, and made by authors who have left or been banned from the Nexus community. As I said, thats just for Skyrim. How many more for Oblivion, Fall Out (whatever) and so on? How many gigs of memory, and basic daily maintenance of servers is being wasted to essentially keep a pristine looking junk-yard? Given that no one is allowed to fix these wrecks, and the authors wont, this garbage serves no purpose. So why waste money and resources?
  15. Its a shame we cant update or can we get rid of these dead broken mods.
  16. So I found two mods that Im interested in, but they are from March of 2012, and the author left the community back in April that year. I am curious, how would I go about updating and posting the mod?
  17. What do you expect? You take hundreds of arrows to the face and keep looting bandit camps and draugr crypts. These pansies took one damned arrow to the knee and retired. And still keep sniveling over it. Tells you all you need to know right there.
  18. Get mugged by a bandit with a loin-cloth fetish? Have Paarthurnax Fus-Ro-Dah you right outta your clothes? (there's a mod for that) Pick a fight with a Sabre Cat while wearing breakable clothing?
  19. As I understand it (and I freely admit I could be wrong) Your load order could use some work, and you need to run FNIS. Most "body" mods (skeleton, animations, anything that affects your body) should be above FNIS. Then you have to go into wherever you keep your files (be it NMM, MO, or whateverO to the tools>for users> and then you'll find an execute. For some reason, just about everything requires the "arm patch" on the GUI window, and usually nothing else. Let it run, and you should be fine. FYI: some of the resident grumps get whiny when you post a whole load order like that. Usually you're asked to put it in a "hidden" or spoilers tag.
  20. 1st) deleting mods during a game is a bad idea. There are several recommendations for safely doing this, however; just google "safely deleting mods in Skyrim". I would recommend Al Ciao's elswyr rift for your "safe spot", simply for the convenience. 2nd) If the NPC is "stand alone" then it doesnt matter what body model you are using, it will use the one packed by the author. If it isnt "stand alone" then it uses what you use. Most follower and companion mods over the last 2years have switched to stand-alone. 3rd) As I understand it, you can use Bodyslide, and it will convert everything to your set slide preferences. I wont swear to that; Im not as computer savvy as I'd like to be. But I use a mix of body type followers and armors, and it all seems to convert well. 4th) you could be overtaxing your computer's resources. I play on a 5 year old laptop, and find I have to skip most followers and goodies because of limited resources. 5th) If you are using the same save as the one where you tried to enter the cell with the follower, then yes, it will keep bugging out. you need to go to a prior save and start from there. Hope some of this helps.
  21. Yeah, I know I could do that. But I kinda wanted something that looked like it was a light armor as well as being adjusted to such. Thanks.
  22. Hi everybody! Happy new year! So, does anyone know where to find a model that is or looks like light wolf armor for men?
  23. Another quick question; I hyavent been able to find a model for Light wolf armor for men. Anyone know where to find some?
  24. What does the "simple Actor" tag do? The CK wiki says it "does exactly what it says", which isnt very clear.
  25. Didnt bother to watch the whole thing. Saw the whole of the problem encapsulated in a nutshell with the Nixon pic at the beginning. But how do you define "corrupt"? Upholding the law has become a partisan issue The right of people to protect themselves from would-be murderers is a partisan issue The idea that the law applies to everyone has become a partisan issue
