I thought you wanted to make it white... not sure what you mean anymore. but if you want to select more than one tone of yellow, take the select by color again and then on tool settings you check the icon with 2 red boxes instead of 1. then select all the yellows you want

If you open the yellow texture and from top select colors/hue there you can change the whole image to black/white with the slider and if it's too blank increase contrast with the other slider. you can also use select by color tool and click the yellow and hue only that color to white
