Help! My gun is too gooey!
LucidLady replied to LucidLady's topic in Fallout 4's Creation Kit and Modders
Aw man, i'm not ready to try animations yet x_x If i can fix the goo problem, i'll just release it with the bowling ball and... hope for forgiveness... And yeah, I started the mod with the Mirelurk egg-goo explosion, and I figured maybe that was the source of my gooey gun problem. But I have removed the Mirelurk explosion effect entirely and replaced it (currently) with a Fireworks explosion. Then again, your idea about the deathclaw egg... Do you think anyone would notice if I switched the egg textures? lol -
So i'm a VERY novice mod maker, and i'm stumped with a very slimy problem. I'm trying to make a mirelurk egg launcher, and I have almost everything working properly. Except, if you change your view at all in game, the launcher starts releasing an endless explosion of goo out of itself. (when I say "change view" i mean - opening the pipboy, entering VATS, going from 1st person to 3rd person) I have no idea why this is happening. I only replaced the shape and texture of a bowling ball projectile with in-game Mirelurk Egg assets. I'm honestly not sure whether to just leave it in as a feature or not lol But another problem i'm having is the reload animation - it looks like a bowlingball, not an egg. I have no idea how to make it look like an egg when you reload. Please help me understand!

Every single ghoul does poison damage?
LucidLady replied to LucidLady's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Wow, thank you for the instructions. I didn't know about the cntrl-click function, that really helps. Come to think of it, it seems more like all ghouls were doing Acid damage, rather than poison. It was the effect that coats the entire player's body in a moving greenish film. I got to the "dtRadiationEnchFeralGhoul "Radiation Damage" [ENCH:000DB3B2]" part of your post, and it looks like the mod NPC Scaling added a BUNCH of additional entries there. I just reset that to vanilla, and now ghouls are behaving normally in my game again! :o Another case closed by robotized. -
I've been having this problem ever since about the start of July. Every single ghoul in my game is doing poison damage, and I have no idea why. I've been trying to figure it out for four months, but have gotten nowhere. So here I am to ask for help. I checked my download history for all the mods that I installed around the time that I noticed this problem, and two look suspicious. One is the Vault 1080 mod that was uploaded to the Nexus here - https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/46083 However, i've started new games without the mod installed - and all ghouls still do poison damage. Another is the Children of Ug Qualtoth mod - https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/43527 I'm pretty sure this is the actual mod that started the problem for me. However, i've started new games with the mod completely uninstalled (as I don't care for it), and all ghouls still do poison damage. I've also selected ghouls via the Console, using the Better Console mod, and no mod involvement shows up. Lastly, i've tried disabling every mod I installed within an entire month surrounding the first time I noticed the problem. I've even tried looking at the Poison effect specifically to see if anything is referencing it and ghouls, but I couldn't find anything that looked wrong. To be clear, i'm getting the whole range of vanilla ghouls. Gangrenous, basic Feral, Rotten, Charred. Only one of those is supposed to do poison damage, but in my game they all do. This is annoying because I want to use the SKK Feral Replacement mod - but that mod doesn't work if you have any other mods which alter Ghouls in some way. You might think that this would make it easy to narrow down the source of the problem - but I loaded up every single mod I have installed with FO4Edit and searched through SKK's mod, and there were no conflicts to be found whatsoever. However, it made it easy to determine exactly when the problem first started, because the effect was immediate. It was Ug Qualtoth - zero ghouls spawned until I disabled SKK in-game. Everything was working just fine before that brand new playthrough with the Ug Qualtoth mod. And yes, i've tried starting new games with the SKK mod uninstalled in case that mod somehow became the problem - done a complete re-install of it, and still the problem persists. My load order has also remained just about the same the entire time. I've added mods since then, but all of the mods I had installed before the problem first showed up are in the same order. I'm very meticulous with my Load Order. I've loaded every single mod up in FO4Edit and tried to search for everything that references Ghouls, but I can't find any conflicts anywhere. But i'm not very good with FO4Edit, so I could have missed something. That's kind of the main request i'm making with this thread - could someone please teach me how to look at everything to do with Ghouls in FO4Edit? What can I do to look for the cause of this?

Disable autosaves when sleeping?
LucidLady replied to LucidLady's topic in Fallout 4's Creation Kit and Modders
I don't want to enable autosaves. I want to disable them - when sleeping. As i already said earlier, Survival Mode ignores the "Autosave on Sleep" setting that shows up in the game menu. -

Disable autosaves when sleeping?

Well? Is there an INI setting that will disable Autosaves when sleeping even in Survival Mode? -
Disable autosaves when sleeping?
LucidLady replied to LucidLady's topic in Fallout 4's Creation Kit and Modders
I'm playing in Survival Mode. That in-game menu setting doesn't work when you're on Survival Mode. The mode ignores the menu option. -
Yeah, i'd like to be able to sleep without having an autosave happen. It's the only time my game ever crashes, i'd prefer to just do my own manual saves. Is it possible to disable autosaves from sleeping? If it's impossible to separate sleeping and autosaving - is it possible to add the sleep effect to an ingestible item? I've been trying to make a drink item that will give me the actual rested effect, but it's not working. Not sure what i'm doing wrong. And if all else fails, is it possible to disable the need to sleep entirely? Or at least increase the time fatigue takes to build up considerably? I know the mod Survival Options offers something like this, but that mod is too buggy for my taste.

I'm having trouble on my XBOX game. I can't seem to get Amoral Combat to trigger. I don't know how to look at something like this using the Creation Kit. I want to know what the actual trigger for it is? I've tried looking online, but it's all years-old posts and guesses and theories. No solid factual information. My game is unmodded. I've tried staying away from NW for a solid in-game month. I've tried riding the monorail back into NW. I've tried going through the gauntlet again (after waiting an in-game month). I've tried running over the final caged area of the Gauntlet and triggering it by running around back there. I've tried just standing around in the Nuka Town area and Market area for hours hoping a Raider NPC would just randomly spit the dialogue at me. I've tried just going back and forth from the Commonwealth to NW over and over again. I've tried visiting one of the five parks (haven't taken over one yet). I'm going to try doing one of the Operators radiant quests, as I read a post that said they always get it to start when turning one of those in. But in the meantime - does anyone have any solid information on how to trigger Amoral Combat?

I know there's a sticky that says not to bump threads. But it's been a pretty long while... my thread was on page 4. x_x Still holdin' out for a hero, here~

You know, I extracted the archives for Nuka World, and I couldn't find the mesh for a lollipop either. I could only find the texture. They're located all over the Kiddie Kingdom, real big. There's a big yellow one and blue one right in the main entrance to Kiddie Kingdom, behind the Bottle and Cappy statue. I'll make sure to take a trip out there during my next stream.

*already begins imagining a whole life together with the lollipop*

Simple request here - you know those big Lollipops from Nuka World? I'd love to kill people with one of them. A smaller one of them...

Mods resetting on each game reload.
LucidLady replied to streutker's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Ran into someone with a similar problem recently. I'm sorry to say I can't remember exactly what the solution for them was. I think it was something to do with their Steam. Try verifying your game files through steam. I believe Steam is messing fallout 4 up lately. Check to see if you've got Cloud saving enabled - if so, disable it. Also, how many mods are you using? Someone mentioned that you might have hit the plugin limit - but i'm pretty sure the game won't start at all if you hit the limit. It'll just CTD immediately. Please post your full Load Order (inside of spoiler tags, or as an attached text file). And note - you can very easily attach an ESL Flag to a regular ESP. It changes nothing, however the file will no longer count toward your 255 plugin limit. Not every ESP can have an ESL Flag attached, but it will save you alot of plugin slots. The ESL Flag can be attached to a mod at any time safely. You should always check and see if you can attach an ESL Flag to any new mods you install nowadays. Next, run your save through ReSaver. You don't have to actually clean the save, just tell us how many unattached and orphaned script instances it finds. -
Original Poster: MyNameFan4eck "After the well-known save-load manipulation, the game breaks the synchronization system, that is, after that I can not create new synchronizations until the next transition to the game." I think thats about right, seems like we have to wait for a new update. Btw are you using the latest F4 Version? I'm sorry - whAt? That post's wording was incredibly difficult to follow. WHAT well-known save-load manipulation? Update of the GAME? Or update of the HudCaps mod? Yes i'm using the latest version of F4SE - are you not?
-
Strange, i've got HudCaps and haven't had this problem. I was gonna say - maybe you could try installing a Survival Mode mod which enables the Quicksave and Save functions? I know you're not playing on survival mode, but it still might help. Don't see how it could hurt. So strange to hear that HudCaps seems to be the cause of this, though. Wonder what it has to do with those functions.

[MODDED] Save Game Function greyed out
LucidLady replied to StahlhelmTV's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Oh, I just write 1o because I like to. Habit - i don't notice i'm doing it anymore. Of course I mean 10. Going through in "chunks of 1" wouldn't make any sense. Context. -
[MODDED] Save Game Function greyed out
LucidLady replied to StahlhelmTV's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
It should be much easier for you to narrow down the source of your glitch, since you're able to reliably trigger it. Just go through in chunks of 1o mods at a time. But before doing any of that - start up an unmodded game and see if you still get the glitch even then. If you get this glitch on an unmodded problem, something else is the problem. -
Are you saying you're getting this glitch only 5 minutes into a new playthrough? Yes, I think something must have gotten messed up with the most recent release of UFO4Patch. Either on Bethesda's end, or the Patch's end. Maybe something small changed under the hood and the Patch didn't notice? Who knows. All I do know is that it's breaking alot of games lately. Many people have the same sentiments as you - the Patch worked fine for them for ages up until now. Even in large load orders. Nevermind reorganizing your load order at the moment. It really is fine, i'm just... a lil OCD. I think we can assume that this glitch is not being caused by any Armor, Weapon, or basic Buildmode mods. So if you do start trying to disable in chunks - skip over those types of mods.

[MODDED] Save Game Function greyed out
LucidLady replied to StahlhelmTV's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Someone else is having the same exact problem in another thread. I'll ask you the same things I asked them, for starters. Is this something you can trigger reliably? That will help in narrowing the source of this problem. Does this always seem to happen after you die? Or, do you find yourself Pausing the game while it's in the middle of Autosaving? If you think you're doing that accidentally - try turning off all Autosaves. Is your Cloud Storage saving enabled? If so, turn it off. Above all though - you need to stop using UFO4Patch. The Patch is more likely to break your game than fix it if you're installing it into a Load Order that's anywhere near 1oo mods full. Do not try uninstalling it mid-playthrough, though. Except for testing to see if it is the source of the glitch. Looking at your LO, I want to ask what size your save files are? How many Sim Settlements are in your game? I see that you have the Baka mod to help with that, but it may not be enough. -
*sigh* You really shouldn't use the UFO4Patch in large load orders. It has been giving ALOT of people alot of problems lately. I would suggest for you to stop using the UFO4Patch first and foremost from now on. Do not try to disable it mid-playthrough, though. Is this glitch something that you can trigger reliably? Like, does it always happen after you Die? Or - do you tend to try opening the Pause menu while the game is in the middle of an Autosave? You have to wait for the Autosave text to go away before opening the Pause Menu, or it will give you problems. If you think that you might accidentally be doing this - turn off all Autosaving. You can also try disabling Cloud Saving, if you currently have it enabled. You've done much better than most at keeping your mods organized, however. But it still looks a bit haphazard. Have you tried disabling the mods in chunks of 1o at a time? This is difficult if you can't reliably trigger the glitch.

I definitely remember seeing one of those be activate-able on my vanilla save, years ago. And then soon after I heard how Todd said there was still some secret in the game that nobody seems to have come across yet (at the time), and I immediately thought that maybe it was the fire hydrant pipes. Like - you activate them in some secret order and then the ghoul whale shows up or something lol. But I haven't been able to find any of the hydrant pipes be activate-able since then. I just assumed I skipped into a Mandella universe at some point since back then.

why on earth... (showcase commentary)
LucidLady replied to caligator's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
While i'll agree that ImmortalAbsol and Zorkaz are right here (it's just an algorythm, not an active decision being made by anyone), i'm gonna pile on with the negativity anyhow. xP I am just soooooo close to blocking the user who's uploading those magazine retextures. I really hate seeing them on the front page. I dunno why it bothers me as much as it does, but it does. Wish they'd upload all the magazine retextures to one single page - not a separate page for each magazine type. Ugly spam posts. It really is a shame that something so out of place and low-effort gets so much attention, whereas genuinely great (here's looking at you, Zorkaz) mods released at the same time don't get more credit.- 7 replies

You could start by posting what mods you're using. I've not heard of this problem before, very strange. All I do know is that the save options get grayed out normally whenever you have your Pip-Boy open. Perhaps something is making your game think your pip-boy is open? I dunno. Just post your load order.
