  1. I'd like to know if everyone who is blaming the UFO4Patch has uninstalled the Patch previously in their playthroughs. Prior to this Just Sit Still situation. Or, was this everyone's first time disabling the Patch in the current playthroughs? If you did uninstall the UFO4Patch prior to fixing this Just Sit Still CTD issue on the affected playthrough, then it probably is the reason for the CTD. You definitely shouldn't be disabling and re-enabling the UFO4Patch all willy-nilly in the middle of a playthrough. I'd also like to know how many mods everyone experiencing this CTD has installed. The folks in charge of the UFO4Patch are extremely prickly, but the UFO4Patch has been giving ALOT of people problems lately. More problems than solutions. My favorite fo4 streamer (WeirdistBuilds) has had to uninstall the mod on the last two challenges he's been doing. His games are almost entirely modless, he likes to complete vanilla challenges. (last two challenges have been simple SPECIAL challenges - beat the game with only Luck perks or only Intelligence perks) He's always had the Patch installed though, because of course he wants the game to be as bug-free as possible. The mods he does use are incredibly minor. Stuff like colorful explosions - or the way ghouls sound. He's very experienced with fo4 as it's the game he plays the most, yet still he ran into gamebreaking bugs caused entirely by the Patch. I was surprised to find out that the Patch was giving him problems, knowing how few mods he plays with. I had thought the Patch was only breaking games with hundreds of mods installed. I'm not a coder at all. I don't know the technical stuff. All i'm looking at is patterns. There's so many broken games with the UFO4Patch installed these days. And removing the UFO4Patch seems to be the solution in so many of those cases. I'm wondering if maybe bethesda changed something under the hood which is messing the Patch up? Something small that just hasn't been noticed?
  2. This definitely looks like you've got a mod that's affecting your lighting. In particular - Sunlight and Sky values. Any ENB mods? CLO Remote?
  3. You had mods fail to install via NMM? Oof, this is a real pickle. I think it MUST be something with your PC because so many people use NMM and Vortex and i've never heard of anyone with your particular problem. It doesn't sound like both mod installers are the problem, here. Have you recently changed something with Steam? Do you think Steam did an automatic update that might have messed you up? Steam might be trying to Sync files and failing. Maybe... I really hope someone who knows more about this than me comes along.
  4. You should never uninstall a mod containing scripts mid-playthrough. I find these script-injected weapon mods annoying too. Try running the save through ReSaver. Clean up any orphaned script instances, and see if that helps. Make sure you're not holding any of these items in your inventory. And while you're at it, make sure you save far away from any containers or NPCs which might be holding one of the items.
  5. This sounds very puzzling. I experienced slightly similar problems back when I was using only Vortex - it's one of the reasons I swore not to return to it. But you say you've tried installing the mods through NMM and manually, too? And you've tried only installing those three (plus F4SE)? Are you installing/uinstalling these mods on an existing playthrough - or are you trying to see if they show up on a new character? I wonder if it's an issue with your PC itself. Your PC may be resetting in some way. Do the files remain in the Data folder after you've stated and then closed the game? Can you tell me what your Cached Memory is at? List off your other PC specs while you're at it. How often do you shut your PC down? Afraid that at the moment all I can suggest is to stop using Vortex.
  6. It's salt water. Though, after developing the tech to remove radiation from water, one would think removing salt would be trivial. Do the borders just not go down to the water? If so, there are 'expanded settlement' mods available. Some of them expand settlements dramatically.... (to the point where it is hard to find all your settlers.....) The fact that it's salt water ain't a good excuse at all. Look at The Castle - look at Old Longfellow's cabin - look at Spectacle Island - look at Nordhagen Beach. All those settlements give access to salt water and let you put down water purifiers. But you literally can't reach the water because of the build-border at Croup Manor. WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS? I mean, you can still put them out there just by using Place Anywhere mod. But still, it's annoying and confusing that they would choose to not let you access the water at Croup.
  7. I liked NMM and never had any problems with it - but kept seeing everyone preach about how much better Vortex was. I was basically peer-pressured into moving over to Vortex lol Anyhoo - I started experiencing troubles with large load orders same as you, soon enough. I also experienced problems with un-installing mods. In fact, mods just plain weren't being fully uninstalled. I'd continue seeing effects from un-installed mods even on new games. I never had that problem with NMM - if I un-installed with NMM, that b&@*$ got un-installed. On top of those two very large problems, I hated the lack of load-order control. Maintaining a proper load order is so important, and I think Vortex's system is the worst of all choices. I recently was told that Vortex has LOOT functionality built-in - and I do NOT call that a bonus. LOOT is terrible for large load-orders. When I built my new computer early this year, I started off with Vortex. I thought maybe Vortex had trouble because I was moving from NMM to it on the old computer. Welp - I soon realized that no, it still just sucked even on a new computer. I hate Vortex's interface, and how confusing it is. (what do you MEAN Save Changes or Use Newer File!? Aren't those the SAME THING!?) I switched back to NMM, and have had zero problems ever since. No regrets. Everything is running tight as a drum. My game's never been so stable, actually. It's more stable than vanilla in fact. I'm very happy with NMM - I like the interface and simplicity, it's easy to look at and easy to use. However, I would say use MO2. I have never used MO2 myself, but I believe people when they say it's the best program of the 3. It has fancy user-convenience features, right? It's more friendly to new users, or people less familiar with modding? With NMM you have to do everything yourself. But that suits me fine. Actually, i've had one problem from using NMM. I can't seem to get AAF to work when installing from NMM. I joined the AAF discord to ask for help - and they flat-out refuse to help you if you're using NMM. They say Vortex is better - but they're extremely bias in that they want you to install using MO2. AAF is the only mod I have run into which can't be installed properly using NMM. I'm currently playing with over 31o mods running, and all's well.
  8. First things first - are you able to start a new game without any mods installed at all? Secondly - are you able to convert any of your ESPs into ESL-Flagged ESPs? It's a very simple process, literally just a few clicks with FO4Edit. ESL-Flagged ESPs have all the bonuses of a flat-out ESL (in that they don't take up one of the 255 plugin limit spots), plus the bonus of being an ESP (in that you can move it wherever you like in the load order, freely). They function just like a regular ESP, but miraculously don't count toward the limit. You should try and flag any mod you install with an ESL-Flag as soon as you download it. Your load order looks very messy. Not the worst i've seen, but it could use some work. I don't see anything immediately that's an obvious conflict, but it's hard to make sense of as-is. Are you allowing LOOT to control your load order? If so - stop. LOOT is just plain ineffective if you have anywhere close to 1oo mods. If you have more than a dozen or so mods, you'll need to organize your load order manually. LOOT is still a useful tool - it's great for detecting mods which need a little cleaning (easy to do with FO4Edit's quitk-auto-clean tool). But it's a really shitty load order organizer. Also - you are using UFO4Patch. Please try disabling it before anything else. UFO4Patch is similar to LOOT - it will break your game if you have anywhere near 1oo mods. ALOT of people have been having trouble from UFO4Patch lately - and disabling it either causes no ill effects, or is the single solution. UFO4Patch works best with a lightly (or non) modded game. It should not be installed as a baseline - as a default. I also have over 31o mods at the moment, and my game runs nearly flawlessly. I don't allow LOOT to organize my LO, and I never use UFO4Patch. In fact, I think I even resolved the one and only flaw my game ever had (crashing a fraction of the time while trying to do a new save), my game has run entirely flawlessly for a week or so. Here's how I structure my own Load Order. If none of the simpler solutions I mentioned before seem to work, try re-organizing your load order to match this - And here's my entire current load order, if you want to see this structure in action - see more exact specific examples - Notice how many look like simple ESPs? You can't tell the ones which are flagged with the ESL flag. More than 170 of them are flagged as ESL.
  9. So have you moved the AnimeRace files to the correct location, now? All mod files go into the Data directory, not directly into the main Fallout4 installation directory. (not where you find the Fallout4.exe) Also, have you installed F4SE? None of these mods will work without launching the game through F4SE. As for the load-order, go with this - - Hair Colors (this is optional, AnimeRace will still work just fine without it) - CBBE - Looksmenu - Race Customizer - Anime Race You truly don't have any other mods, other than what you've listed here? Also bear in mind that the instructions for getting AnimeRace to work ask that you not touch your character during the first character creation scene. You're meant to simply accept the default Nora preset, and then LATER change to any of the AnimeRace presets. You can do that by either speaking to a Surgeon or simply using the Console Command to open the character customization screen.
  10. I've got a mod that turns the basement into a settlement, but I really don't mind it NOT being a settlement. I'm just happy that Croup Manor has an interior cell on the grounds. But forget that - what REALLY bugs me about Croup Manor is that you're living SO CLOSE to the ocean, but you can't put down water purifiers? Who the hell is responsible for that? Why prevent us access to the ocean? Geez...
  11. It would help if you posted your load order. For now though, it sounds like you've got a mod which removes the FPS cap. Or you've altered your Fallout4.ini or Fallout4Custom.ini text files to remove the FPS cap.
  12. Was the radroach crash something you only experienced the one time, or was it reoccurring? I've never ever had that problem. If it keeps happening, maybe try a mod that makes all roaches the same (small) size. I know one exists, I don't remember what it's called though. Do you have weapon debris on? Saw someone post a fix regarding that and I was reminded of you. You can check in your game's settings - launch using the main fallout icon (not F4SE). Otherwise, just try lowering your graphics altogether, see how that goes. If you're getting CTDs even unmodded, then it's your PC that's having a problem.
  13. Have you tried running the save through ReSaver? What does it tell you? Also, try loading the second-most-recent save before loading the most-recent save.
  14. Geez, why does Vortex suck so so much... I was suspicious of the Location Damage mod. I can't imagine it handles downtown boston too well. Try validating your game and report back - if you are indeed getting CTDs even in a save which was never touched by any mods.
  15. Oho! I see, that is interesting. Now I understand! Well that's worth knowing.
  16. . (uh, somehow posted in the wrong thread) Well as long as i'm here - follow the steps in this guide? http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Backing_up_your_mod_list_and_load_order
  17. I mean, you can't just ask "is there a solution" - there's too many variables as to what could be causing you to CTD in the first place. Are you using mods? If so - how many mods are you using which alter the graphics and terrain of the game? This includes ENB mods. Do these crashes ONLY happen outside, or do they happen inside as well? If they happen outside 95% of the time, it may also be a Weather mod giving you trouble. Do you only CTD when in combat, or do you CTD even when nothing is going on? How many mods are you using that break precombines? The most popular example is the mod Scrap Everything. If you insist on using that, expect crashes. Other mods which alter overworld locations/terrain can also break Precombines. Be sure to read the mod description page, or comment section to find out if a mod breaks precombines. Or check it yourself in the Creation Kit. Mods that "clean up" settlements or cities are also prone to doing this. Newer mods are being more careful not to break precombines, though. But you should make sure before installing a mod. If you're experiencing CTDs without using any mods at all - it might just be your PC. Try turning down the graphics and see if things improve. Or try installing a nice performance-friendly texture replacement mod. PhyOp is pretty good. Also, how full IS your Saves Folder? How full was it before you apparently installed an Allow-Quicksaves mod? You want to keep that folder fairly empty - maybe 1o mods from a single character at a time. Having an over-full Save Folder will give you alot of problems, with or without mods. I haven't experienced a random CTD while running across the land in so long, i'd love to learn if there's some kind of pattern. This problem does come up quite a bit. What are all you people doing that i'm not? Please post your Load Order if you are using mods.
  18. One of us is definitely misreading the other. My fault, I just typed "taking all the settlements" instead of "killing all the settlements". That is a crucial distinction. But we are on the same page - if you kill all settlers before talking to Preston, it'll break the Minutemen questline. It's just, I thought that was a fairly known thing, so I was surprised to see someone like you who's so knowledgeable about the game running a test on something like that. But maybe you were testing something special about it and I just didn't understand? Am I missing something?
  19. So, i've been having this little problem for a while. But I have no idea when exactly it started, so I don't know which mod (or combo of mods) might be responsible. But, in my game Gunners are often spawning without any weapons. Just fighting with their fists. It's only the Gunners. Interestingly, my favorite fallout 4 streamer just talked about having this same exact problem - and his game is practically vanilla. He doesn't have any that touch leveled lists at all. Regardless, I assume it's some kind of conflict in the leveled lists. But my fo4edit skillz aren't strong enough. I don't know how to go through and check each mod that touches Gunner leveled lists. If YOU know how to do that, please teach me. Alternatively, if you know how to REMOVE an item from the leveled lists altogether, i'd love to learn that as well.
  20. I might've misread your post SKK, but it sounds like you tried taking all of the settlements in the game before talking to Preston in order to kick off the Minutemen questline? I'm pretty sure you can't do that, it'll bork things up. Preston NEEDS to send you to help a settlement. It doesn't have to be Tenpines - if you either kill or help them before talking to Preston, he'll send you to a different unclaimed settlement.
  21. So you're getting a CTD even on an entirely unmodded save? A save which never had any mods installed at any point? I don't know why so many people are having problems like this lately. Did you reinstall the game recently, after a long break? In situations like this, I think it might be a Steam issue. Have you tried validating your game integrity through Steam? If not, give it a go. But it's also possible that Steam is failing to reacquire missing files during validation. I honestly don't know how you would catch if that was happening with you. Then again, Boston is the most stressful area of the game for your PC. It could be that your PC just can't handle the area. You could try the mod Boston FPS Fix, it's entire goal is to make Boston less CTD-ish. Those things aside, you really should take the time to organize your load order properly still. >_>
  22. I think I just helped someone with this very problem recently. I may be mis-reading the first post, though. So, you get back to Sanctuary with Preston and friends - talk to Preston - and he says "Anyway, i'm glad you're here..." and never speaks up again. Is this the problem everyone is experiencing? That's a normal problem. Preston can take quite a long time to finish his sentence here, so sometimes all you need to do is wait. Maybe one or two minutes - if he doesn't speak up after that long, he's not going to speak up. If that's the case, don't talk to Preston. Before you talk to him at Sanctuary, go to Tenpines. Go to Tenpines and either Kill those settlers, or do their quest independently. The reason Preston pauses for so long, is because in that long pause, something is goin' down at Tenpines. Someone's getting kidnapped, or something's triggering in Corvega, or some ghouls are acting up. Sometimes Preston just can't figure out whatever hell is being wrought.
  23. Well let's start off with your load order. It's a complete mess. If you are using LOOT to organize your load order - stop. It is ineffective if you have anywhere near 1oo mods. It just plain won't organize your mods correctly if you have more than a couple dozen. You will need to organize your load order yourself. This may be the only cause for your CTDs. I advise that after you re-organize, create a save and then clean that save using ReSaver. Also, how many hours are you into that save? Is it around 24 hours? Here's how I structure my own load order. I run over 3oo mods, and my game runs nearly flawlessly. I have had a long-standing problem of ONLY getting a CTD a fraction of the time whenever I try to do a Save. But I think I may have solved even that single problem. At the moment it doesn't look like you have anything that conflicts. But then, I can't make heads or tails of much, as everything is a big jumbled mess. Anyhoo, re-organize your inventory like this and report back - And if you want to take a look at my actual load order, to see this structure in action, get more specific examples, here it is -
  24. Ooo i must admit sticky-bombs sounds like a fun little idea.
