  1. I'm normally not one for changes, but this looks much improved overall, nice work! ~dan
  2. Yeah if you buy from GOG and just download the offline backup version, you just install it wherever you want on your computer and can launch the game directly with no other application required, it's SO SUPERIOR to the Steam system of doing things, i am just baffled why anyone would even opt for steam at all, let alone the majority... maybe people just are unaware. (shrug)
  3. So, here we go again with Steam forcing updates on everyone's game and breaking everything. Here's what I don't get, I see so many super smart tech savvy, mod expert, geniuses on here, truly, it's amazing how creative and intelligent the best of the best are, on here, and, in every other area of troubleshooting they unfailingly create or explain the most logical and efficient solutions to help the rest of us out... except in THIS area... the whole "steam update breaking everything" issue... i don't understand why the most simple and obvious solution is virtually never mentioned, which is, just get the GOG version! Gog simply sells games that the customer then ACTUALLY OWNS and has on their machine, free of dependancy on any middleman application to launch, and NEVER any forced updates! Why is this not the OBVIOUS solution??? Like, seriously, what am I missing? ~dan
  4. Well it was a great idea, but no luck... i visited 2 of the trouble spots... clicked all around the area with MIC... nothing but vanilla hits... no acticators, just rock, grass, dirt, etc... all from Skyrim.esm Such a strange thing... I'm baffled. I did already test on new playthrough as well, so it's not corrupted save. I just have no clue what it could be. On the bright side, other than this single mysterious bug, my game is virtually perfect stability-wise, with quite a heavy load, so worse case scenario, if this is never solved, im counting my blessings. (Thank you again for taking the time!) ~dan
  5. Ah! I actually already have More Informative Console, and I will try that! THANK YOU! Will report back if any success... ~dan
  6. Hello all, I am playing Skyrim anniversary edition, with probably 300 to 500 mods all told, everything is running great except for one very strange glitch that's been occurring, my character UNsneaks in certain specific spots. Meaning, I'm in sneak mode, creeping along, and suddenly it's as if I toggled sneak off but I did not hit the button. I can go right back into sneak no problem, but if I go over that same spot once again it will toggle the sneak back off in the same spot, it's repeatable, and consistent. There seems to be at least several, but for all I know hundreds, of these specific spots. Just one example is a couple feet in front of the door to halted stream camp mine, on the exterior. That's just one spot, but I've encountered several others, so I can only imagine there are many many more. I can't find anything online where anyone else has ever had this specific issue. Does anyone have any idea what could possibly cause this to happen? I appreciate and thank you for any feedback in advance! ~dan (tcbflash)
  7. Amen and welcome and thank you! FUS ROH DAH!!! :-)
  8. Any modding experts that can help with this?... i have a self-imposed rule that weapons and HEAVY armor can only be tempered to "epic" at most, and LIGHT armor only to "fine" at most. My question is, can this be done in xedit somehow, so i wont have to police myself anymore? Im decent with xedit, but cant seem to find where to zero in on these settings. Thanks in advance.
  9. since I didn't even discover the modding scene until maybe a year ago, I don't even understand what this is all about, but I will say that after reading this I searched for this gamefront site just out of curiosity, and landed at a site that appears to be some sort of false version, a third party, pretending to be gamefront... looks like the REAL site is gamefront.com.... while the imitator is gamefront.online (.blahblahblah…) Hopefully I didn't get duped into getting this backwards, but that's what it looks like to me at first glance... just thought I'd share...
  10. That goes right along with my own intuition... so I will roll with that hypothesis unless/until proven wrong... If nothing else, it gives me some comfort to hear someone else say what I was thinking/hoping... lol. and yes, I am backing up too :-) THANK YOU Mosstronaut!
  11. So, I've gotten to the point that I am afraid to make ANY changes to my game mid-character anymore, I won't add/subtract any mods, which is probably pretty standard I guess, but I've always had a habit of finding little things in the game where I want to make a tweak here or there... I rarely make it through a whole session without jotting down a note of something I need to correct/tweak/adjust/etc... So... what I've taken to doing is going ahead into Xedit after a session, and making the tweaks, but making them on a completely new plugin, and then not activating the plugin... just saving it for whenever I eventually start over... at which point I will port all these changes onto various existing plugins I already have. The problem though, is that then I may run into the exact same "item" (for instance), that needs it's unbalanced damage rating fixed or what have you, and I can't remember whether I've already addressed this on my "plugin-in-waiting" if you will... so I was thinking of just putting a little notation next to the item name, like, "pending..." or whatever (on the current ACTIVE plugin version)… but then aren't I just violating my own rule of "not making ANY changes during a current playthrough"? So, in sum, my question for any Xedit experts out there... Are there certain types of changes that are for sure SAFE, regardless of being mid-playthrough? Like, specifically, merely adding a word to the NAME of an item (my "pending" notation)? Would it be safe to assume that I can do this without causing any corruption? Thank you in advance to anyone who can offer insight in this area for me!!! ~tcbflash~
  12. Anyone know how to add a cooldown time, or a "once a day" aspect, like the "battle cry" power has, for something... specifically, for the "Horse Call" (where you blow the horn and your horse magically teleports to you) from the mod "Convenient Horses"? It's a great mod, but this particular power, with unlimited usage, is a little TOO "convenient". (I use SSEEDIT.)
  13. Am I posting in the wrong section? SOMEONE has to know how to solve this! Why can 800x600 display full screen, but 804x603 cannot? Exact same ratio... Even if no one can solve, can you explain to me why?
  14. Is "resolution" the same as "height and width"? The answer has to be no, at least not always... because I can select 800x600 (one of the preset resolution choices on bethini) and it displays on my FULL SCREEN. However, if I choose to manually type in a custom "resolution", which is also an option from bethini… suddenly the answer to my question is unfailingly YES, resolution IS the H and W !!! In other words, I can't get a full screen display with any lower resolution than my 1920x1080, unless I choose one of the PRESET choices (even if it switches to a 4/3 ratio, 800x600... it WILL give me full screen since it's a preset option... so if THAT'S possible, then why does it seem to be impossible to scale to full screen with, say, 1000x600, or 1100x700? etc... ??? been searching the web for couple hours... to no avail, losing my mind... help!
  15. I have an even more bizarre problem. I can't search for one specific mod... MY mod... (tcbflash WEAPON SPECS DISPLAYED) Up until yesterday I would quickly type "tcb" and before I could type any more it would always pop up instantly... but now... I can type tcb... no results... I can even type the entire name out... it says 0 results! But when I type any other random mod, it seems to work fine, like if I type the word "immersive" for instance, instantly all the mods that start with the word immersive pop up, just like normal! But my mod specifically REFUSES! Before you ask, YES my mod is still on the site, I had to search for myself as an author search (tcbflash), and through that I could get there... This is so BIZARRE... Even if no one knows the solution, could you do me a favor and just search for my mod and see if it comes up for you? Or does it say 0 results?
  16. Just throwing this out there in case anyone knows the solution, last night I made an edit to a constructible object within a mod that I have. I simply added another ingredient requirement in order to forge the item. So this piece of apparel would now require 250 gold in addition to the one piece of leather required to make it. Only problem is, when I fired up the game it's still only required one piece of leather and completely ignored the 250 gold requirement. Then I went back into s s e e d i t, and this time I completely deleted the piece of leather, and made the requirement 250 gold as the only materials required. Went back into the game, and the gold was still ignored, and the piece of leather was still there as the requirement to forge the item. I am completely baffled by this, if anyone has any idea how this could be, let me know! Thank you! UPDATE - haha, nevermind, im a moron, I was editing the TEMPERING ingredients, as opposed to the RECIPE ingredients... took me WAY too long to finally realize.... literally smacked my forehead when I did :-)
  17. So, I recently created my first ever mod (TCBFLASH WEAPON SPECS DISPLAYED), and I thought everything was going good, until I started having trouble finding my updated file after adding more changes to my mod in SSEEDIT. Basically, it goes like this... 1) i go into sseedit, make all the changes/updates I want... 2) I save the changes (sseedit says "saving done" or whatever, which I know worked because I can go back in and look and the changes still show in sseedit) 3) I now want to find the file (should be in documents, right?) and "zip" it to download the update to nexus... NOWHERE TO BE FOUND! ... or is it? I do see a file by the same name, but the date/time it says last updated is NOT recent, so I don't think it's the file with the most recent updates. And I don't even know how to check either, because I'm not a computer guy. The only way I thought of to TRY to check is to go ahead and upload the questionable file to my mod page on nexus, download it myself, and then open my game to try to see if I can find one of the weapons I recently updated to see if the changes show... which is what I am in the process of now... (waiting for nexus to say the file is ready to download), but I have a bad feeling that it does not contain the updates, because I see that the file size is actually LESS KB than my previous file... which I don't think would make sense since this mod project is basically a process of changing the name of every weapon in the game (to show additional weapon specs), so each update I post will have an increased quantity of info than the previous version). Can anyone help me or tell me what I am doing wrong??? update - yep, no good. the file I uploaded does NOT have my recent changes. (and since I downloaded it myself I think it overrode my data in sseedit, so now my changes are even lost in there! (does that make since? I'm so lost, ready to give up :-( ) Update part 2 - Okay so I have a strange theory... could my problem be that I have downloaded my own mod through Nexus, rather than just letting it operate as a plugin? I'm theorizing that because it was a nexus "mod" on my list of mods in NMM... and then when I saved updates in sseedit, under the same file name, then whenever NMM refreshed it would override the plugin...tcbflashweaponspecs.esp… with the info on my actual nexus mod file (v1.02)? Does this make any sense at all??? Please someone who knows their stuff steer me back towards sanity! PART 3 - 10/8/18 - all solved! NEVERMIND!
  18. for some reason on my game, all elven daggers are now called "elven dagger (magic fortified)", and not only that... the damage is increased, and they weigh 2 lb (instead of 4). At first I thought I had come across a different variation... but then I looked at one that I already had stored in my chest, which had been a standard "elven dagger" when I stored it... and now it's "elven dagger (magic fortified)" with the adjusted stats... Has anyone else experienced this? One of the mods I recently downloaded was Phenderix magic world, in case that could have something to do with it...
  19. Apparently my question was too politically incorrect? (I'm just trying to take some confusion out of the game for my 8 year old, couldn't care less when I'm playing...)
  20. Anyone know if there is a mod that will stop members of the same sex from propositioning marriage?
