  1. read lots of tuts, practice, practice some more and then add in more practice. in my opinion modeling is the easy part, texturing is what makes or breaks a project and that takes a good eye, some talent and, you guessed it, Practice LOL. as far as tools, yes 3ds Max, Maya or blender. Blender is free and has a learning curve. Photoshop or Gimp for textures. even the old tuts are still pretty valuable and relevant.
  2. the easiest solution is to download them manually then use NMM to install them. the even easier solution is to just manually install them but that can have draw backs.
  3. so your talking about interior cell settlements. I need to look over my notes because I seem to remember having that problem in one of the mods I made for myself. also are the object custom or vanilla?
  4. Aint that the truth LOL And thanks for the CSww redux, I use that in every mod and play through.
  5. like I said further up, if Modders and players want a new game Gofund a project to lease or buy the fall out rights to make a new game. with a good mod team an excellent game could be made. I'd love a shot at writing a story line and dialogue for a real game.
  6. the exterior view is in the world space, the interior is an interior cell. the lights sources from one do not affect the light sources for the other. you probalby know that and I'm just misunderstanding what your saying, not the first time. LOL
  7. blender, maya or 3dsmax for models, plus nif scope and XWM for music files. and word to write out the story line and initial dialogue.
  8. that is one of the best features of the game, a game that I happen to enjoy. Where it falls flat for me is the crappy DLC's. I had hoped that they would put out Story DLC's like new vegas did. DLC's that expanded the Characters actions and impact on the Wastes. While I enjoyed the added content for what it was, the minuscule story's contained in them felt more like it had been tacked on at the last moment. The rust devils alone could have been used to create an awesome story line for hours of game time. Deep breath... LOL.. anyway.. I hope that at some point a modding group will do for FO4 what some guy and Project brazil did for New vegas.
  9. if you think its finished and want to keep fall out alive and rolling, go fund a project to buy or lease the rights and pay modders to create a whole new game that, we can mod out the butt on release. there are almost unlimited amounts of stories that can be told spread out over all the fall out games. Its the 21st century the internet is providing the ability for home film makers to out do hollywood, lets use it to keep alive the games and the type of games we enjoy.
  10. I've done a lot of mods for myself over the years but have never put one out for others. So here's a suggestion for what its worth... take one element of your idea and work on it, say new world creation and concentrate on that, as your doing that talk with other, accomplished modders, and ask advice. HIT you tube for tutorials then slowly work towards setting up a modding team so that you have others that can take up the slack in the areas your weak in. Much of the code you need is already in game, it might need tweaking but thats not a big deal. find mods that have things you want to see, that includes npc behaviors etc. "check out the survival mods", download them and check them it out in the CK to see how the mod author did it. you can learn how to script odd stuff, set up quests and dialogues and a lot of other things that way. some might have models or textures you like so drop the mod author a line and ask if you can use them. Its daunting I know but its also not quite as hard as you think it is. (or I'm just a masochist ) since FO4 has feral ghouls in it, you could use them as the base, its a small thing to change their speed and there are retextures for them all over the net. that would allow you to get a working prototype to test in the base world. the one thing you cant escape in modding is it takes time, lots of time and no matter how much you know something always pops up that you have to learn or ask help on. Anyway, hope you give it a shot, I'd enjoy seeing it completed.
  11. there is no custom.ini file you have to add it.
  12. interesting, I haven't noticed that myself and I have cut content installed. I would find it darkly amusing how ever. is it in one particular location or spread across Skryim?
  13. it would probably be popular with quite a few folks. if you want to give making it a shot, down load blender, its free, and give it whirl. there's a learning curve but nothing massive and plenty of vid tuts on youtube to help.
  14. but you can use bodyslide to adjust most clothing mods to CBBE. heres the problem your looking at, you installed CBBE then installed some vanilla mods the vanilla mods over ride the CBBE stuff and if you install CBBE after the Vanilla mods CBBE will over ride the other mods. use body slide to adjust the vanilla mods to CBBE.
  15. actually not a bad idea, the new race is the result of a search for a cure in some vault somewhere but it only brings them halfway or makes them hermaphrodites
  16. thats assuming that there isn't a variant of FEV out there that doesn't wipe out gender. Who knows what might be found in Big mountain or an old vault or even dare we say it the institute. LOL who knows maybe at some point they develop gender, there are real life analogs where if the species is low on females some of the males will switch genders and of course there is the idea from Jurassic Park.
  17. downloadng and installing the patch manually will take less time than disabling one mod after another, if it doesn't solve the problem then start disabling groups of five mods at a time and see if that works.
  18. okay not saying this the cause, but I had this happening to me and it turned out it was a bad download of the Unofficial patch, I tried it from both Nexus and Beth, I ended up having to download it from the AFK site and that fixed it for me. Also install manually.
  19. a texture pack wouldn't look good. at least I don't think so. It would look far better to just model them and add them as armor/clothes pieces.
  20. here is what almost every one calls xedit https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/164/?
  21. the fix is usually open the mod in the CK click on each modified NPC then Control f4 wait till its completed then save and close. its a common occurrence in SE after modifying or creating any NPC.
  22. your welcome. there are plenty of vid tutorials out there for making skyrim assets in blender. if your going to use blender 2.79, make sure to carefully read the tuts on exporting NIF files. personally I use 2.49b to export since its easier to export nifs from.
  23. well there was the thread about muskrat love and something about two goats, a bottle of whiskey and a nun. but that was pretty much it. No really.. LOL
