  1. did you happen to adjust the graphics quality. did you turn off anti-aliasing and antisotropic? disable vsync. go onto steam and verify files. (make copies of your INI files first) oh and one more thing to try, change your audio settings to 16 bit 44000hz
  2. I think I will just start with as few changes as I can and mod one spell to see how it works.
  3. Does it crash when playing vanilla? does it crash in certain locations every time? I keep looking over your most list and nothing really jumps out as a problem. for me most of the CTDs were related to the save issue or a mod(s)
  4. go to the AFK site and download the Unofficial patch for Skyrim see if that helps. then use SSEdit to check for conflicts. also make sure you didn't accidentally add any SE mods. where and when are the crashes occuring? one of the first things I will say is disable auto saves, Save on Wait, save on rest, etc, and add CASM to your mods. That really helped me out on the same issue.
  5. here are a few links that might help or point you in the right direction. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/4787/? https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2572/? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3TW85BmUEw
  6. >edit< never mind. LOL you already did what I was going to suggest.
  7. did you update NMM, there is a new version up but its on a regular nexus mod page. I had problems with SKSE64 till I was told about the newest version of nmm. https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/6086198-skse64-and-esl-support-for-nexus-mod-manager/
  8. make sure you update NMM its up to version .17 and now has SKSE support. Can't wait for Vortex Mod Manager. get it here https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/6086198-skse64-and-esl-support-for-nexus-mod-manager/
  9. I find Orc women hitting on my PC kinda of scary.. I mean those tusks... down... >shiver<... besides how do they eat neatly.
  10. Thats how I picture it though some of what I picture might require new animations. A normal spell shows mage lifting a hand or hands, but with a bard the spell would be triggered by whistling or singing depending on what would be faster to trigger the spell. A combat spell is pretty worthless if the enemy can close and beat you to death before you finish casting a spell. Area affect spells might be the PC playing a tune on a lute or drum before fire rains down or a mystic wall springs to life. A healing spell could be cast by playing a song on an instrument while a second animation effect surrounds the PC or a NPC.
  11. glassy eyed stare and drooling slowly coming to a stop... Thank god.. LOL
  12. Thanks, I'm enjoying it. especially being able to play for more then five seconds at a time LOL. only so many times I can kill the same critter in the same room before insanity sets in. Ground hog day skyrim style.
  13. technically Skyrim Special edition is TES, but its not. LOL. just open the special addition folder, the one with the Skryim.EXE. no Beth didn't bother to add SE to it or anything else and drop in the SKSE64 files then create a shortcut on for your desktop. So far I have had no luck getting NMM to realize SKSE64 exists so you have to run it from the SKSE exe or a short cut. just realized some one else already told you that... so.. um... nothing to see here folks move along. LOL
  14. I had this problem and all I had to do, after a long period of head banging and kicking my pc was set the texture path for NIFscope. Don't know if that's the problem with your's but if you haven't set it give it a shot.
  15. While your more or less correct. how ever if it is the cause then it will be no more of a problem than the vanilia game. That actually was the problem with my game, the patch, only after Artmoor suggested I download it from the AFK site did it work correctly. He said something about it might be a Nexus API problem (or something like that). with the new download installed my game runs smoothly, instead of crashing constantly, usually five seconds into a load. while VRAM or CPU issues might be a responsible, they are not the only thing that can result in CTD's.
  16. Solved.. for any one else that has this problem, use the console command resetai.
  17. thanks for the reply. I tried it and nothing happened. The situation is when Aela is telling you about attacking the silver hand in the fort. she finishes her dialogue, the message map is updated appears and in the bottom corner is tab/exit. you can turn the camera, slowly, like your in a force greet but thats it. Every time I have to close from Task manager, I've tried going back to a previous save and it does the same thing the moment I reach that point again. I am at a loss.
  18. see mole rats eat rad roaches and with out them around, the rad roaches multiply. LOL
  19. I have been thinking about making a mod for a special class of mage one that casts spells using music and song. the mage would have to be a member of the bards college of course. so any suggestions, ideas or problems with the idea would be welcome.
  20. You know I've noticed changes in my load order as well. sometimes after running loot from inside of NMM different mods are disabled for no reason. Hmmmmm
  21. as the title says, after becoming a werewolf for the first time the PC is moved to Aela outside the fort where the pc becomes locked into a force greet scene, Pressing Tab for exit does nothing and the only key that works is the tilde key. using enableplayercontrols does nothing and have to use the task manager to close the game. any suggestions on how to fix this?
  22. depending on whether your asking how to make and place models into the game or just textures the answer is going to be complex. you will need a modeling program NIF scope a paint shop type program. **** Blender is a free modeling program GIMP is a free paint and photo program *** a basic tut for making a weapon for skyrim, its pretty much the same for SE. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hYHj2Dy49s
  23. I had the exact same problem and the solution for me was to DL the unofficial patch from the AFK site and manually install it. Artmoor said something about it possibly being a Nexus AP problem. (or something like that). since then I have had zero CTD's. hopefully that will work for you.
  24. I had something similar happen and ended up disabling SKSE and AFT. I'll wait till its out of alpha to try again. Also it might have something to do with the Unofficial patch if you DL it off of Beth or Nexus, which I also had. downloading it from the AFK site and manually installing it solved a huge number of issue's.
  25. spooky is correct, when I first downloaded skyrim, i made a copy of the entire folder on a external drive. the few times I've had problems that would have required downloading the whole game again I just changed the name of the steam skyrim folder to say sky1 then copied over the clean sky folder into steam. copying individual files, or a clean data folder or any other file or mod works just as easily. note: I rename the original to save updates, mods, textures and what have or just in case I find a solution to the problem I was having and can just play the rename game between the two folders to switch back and forth.
