  1. your welcome. Artmoor suggested that I download directly from the AFK site and install manually. Based on the description of my problem he thinks it could be a nexus API issue. So I am giving it a shot to see if that fixes it.
  2. good old microsoft, cant beat em for a good screwing over on occasion. LOL
  3. trust me, the npcs do it on purpose. I waited for a full four days game time once to check a mesh I had laid out and every npc in the world avoided the area till I was ready to leave. there is a method to replace a mesh or deleted mesh with the vanilla mesh. Sadly I don't remember what it is, but if you google for oldrim tuts on nav meshing its there somewhere. I know its like looking for the old coke formula but that tut is out there, old coke is gone. its a myth now.
  4. here is what worked for me, disable "Unofficial Skyrim patch" . after days of constant five to ten second CTD's with the occasional tease of being able to run fifty or sixty steps I have now played several hours with out a single CTD, slow down or gremlin. Though I was attacked by a pack of skeevers while riding a horse. hope it works for you.
  5. take a look at some of the mod texture packs, and also resource packs might have textures you could use. Good luck
  6. a little advice, go slow, do a little bit at a time and test in game. Save often. if there is a location or Npc that does something like what your wanting to do, dive into their AI packages, quests ETC which should help point you in the right direction. make a copy of your ESP every few days and place it in a separate folder just in case of a catastrophic screw up. Like wiping out a nav mesh or a goat eating your mod. thats probably only me though. and Ask questions there are always people on here that are willing to help out. Good luck on the mod.
  7. I don't know if you have ever solved this. After days of almost constant CTD's sometimes as soon as a save loaded, usually five to 20 seconds in, and occasionally A whole twenty minutes of game play I found the solution at least for me, disable the unofficial patch and see if your problem goes away. I happened to notice on multiple threads about CTD's the one common thread "the unofficial patch" disabled it and had a solid three hours of game play with out a hitch. including waiting, fast traveling and sleeping. Hope it works for you. also make sure every mod your using has either been made for SE or has been properly ported. a few of those caused me problems early on.
  8. I have been having CTDs like crazy, sometimes its five seconds in, or as soon as a Save loads. verified, deleted, reinstalled, you name it. spent days looking online for solutions. tried the disable, uninstall mods etc etc. SKSE64 is the only thing left. thanks I'll give it a shot.
  9. I'm not sure it can cause a CTD but why not sneezing to close to the computer can cause a CTD on a beth game. by define are you asking how to replace it or just what is the meaning. if you deleted part of a mesh then you already know, basically how to replace it. as to what it is, it tells the NPCs where they can walk. I'm sure there is a more complicated def with all kinds of fancy terms and acronyms. with out it, NPcs can not use doors into interior spaces etc..
  10. here is one fix I've found. Adjust Sound Settings to 24 bit / 48k Hz. You could try using SSME start up memory editor
  11. I suck at scripting and have been pouring over the game files looking for a example I can use and might have missed it. I am working on a mod that will have a wall of fog roll in, the fog will already be placed and the plan is to have have each fog effect and the glow effect fired off on a timer so that it appears to be rolling in. then comes the vampire attack and the background music by Nox Arcana. So if any of you know where I can find a example I would appreciate it.
  12. do you have any combat mods? any mods that affect ammunition?
