  1. Put together a brief demo reel yesterday comprised solely of lines I've recorded for Skyrim mods. :) Skyrim Demo Reel
  2. I'd be happy to help with voice acting. I don't have a demo reel up just yet, but here are some samples of dialogue I've recorded recently for a mod - https://soundcloud.com/vulon
  3. Nice reel, finalCrystine! ^^ Just started up a Soundcloud account to upload some bits of voice-acting. I'll go ahead and post the link here. I don't have a reel up yet, but I figured this would do in the meantime. :D https://soundcloud.com/vulon
  4. Thanks! :) I already submitted some voice work for morrowind1979's mod, so I have some material for a reel right there. I'll work on some additional content and put it together as soon as I can. :D
  5. Hey! I'd love to get into the Skyrim voice acting scene. I've wanted to contribute for months now, but I'd stupidly lost the cable to my mic. I finally got around to acquiring a replacement cable, so I'm ready to try my hand at some VA work for Skyrim. I don't currently have a demo reel, but I'll be working on throwing one together at my earliest convenience. I do have a fair amount of experience, though. I've provided voices for an abridged series of Final Fantasy X that enjoyed some popularity on YouTube, worked on a number of DragonBall Z parodies, and contributed to a few fandubs and promotional type material. While I consider my voice versatile, I specialize in playing gruff, manly characters and villains. My microphone is high-quality, and I use a pop filter to almost completely eliminate hissing and popping. In addition, and on a bit of an unrelated note, I'm a freelance writer, so if you'd like any help in fine-tuning dialogue I'd be happy to offer my assistance. Edit - New soundcloud account for voiceacting! I'll be uploading some of my lines there until I have more material for a proper demo reel. :) Link - https://soundcloud.com/vulon
  6. Got it. Thanks! I just checked, and there's no Archive.exe in my main directory. And I'm currently experiencing a weird issue when I try to load up the Creation Kit, and I'm too lazy to bother with figuring it out at the moment, but I'll certainly keep this info in mind for later use. :D
  7. I downloaded a rather simple mod today that merely added an animation and sound effect. However, the effect was really grating to my ears and low-quality, so I figured I could slap together a more aurally pleasing effect and simply replace the old one. It should be noted that I have 0% experience in modding, so I really don't know what I'm doing outside of a basic understanding of Skyrim's file structure. After putting the sound effect together, I extracted the mod's BSA to a temporary directory on my desktop and replaced the sound effect in the sound fx folder with the one I had just made. I decided maybe that was good enough, and put the loose files into their corresponding positions in my Data folder, then dragged the ESP back in there as well. I booted up Skyrim, and while the sound effect played when I pressed the hot key that was supposed to initiate the animation, the animation didn't play. So I decided to try again and go about it differently. I removed the loose files from my data folder and decided to open up OBMM. I selected the folder that contained all the loose files and quickly packed them into a solitary BSA. Threw it back into the data folder - no dice, again. Same result. Sound effect was there, but the animation wasn't. Do I have to throw the ESP into the mix when I re-pack the files? I figured it wouldn't make a difference, since I only adjusted the sound effect, but considering I have no knowledge regarding any of this, I could very well be wrong. @_@ This is the mod I'm trying to alter, just to clarify. xD
  8. Just to clarify, I messed up and gave you the wrong Skyrim.ini to modify. You modify the one located your 'My Documents/My Games/Skyrim' folder by the name of Skyrim.ini. My mistake. And I have no idea what that means - I'm no expert in Papyrus logging, by any means, I just use it to check up on issues. You might want to check to see if the values for Papyrus logging are all set to the correct value ('1') under your [Papyrus] subsection in the correct Skyrim.ini, if you haven't yet done so.
  9. I can't say I experience the same issue with my set-up. Or, more aptly, with the default volume being as low as it is for me in-game without loudness equalization, I don't have a clear frame of reference to base that off of. Oddly enough, loudness equalization doesn't seem to make a difference whatsoever in how my speakers sound outside of Skyrim. Conversely, if I switch the Equalizer option off, my speakers sound quite tinny and pathetic in general.
  10. Quite true. Although I got tired of NPCs dying when dragons attacked, so I downloaded a mod to make them run indoors in the event of a dragon attack. Otherwise they'd just be stupid, try to fight the dragon, and die. @_@
  11. Ha, nice! And you can always download a killable children mod, mwahaha. :D
  12. Haha, you are a better man than I, good sir. :D Another really jerkish thing I did once : This was back when I was still playing on the ps3, before I upgraded my PC and got Skyrim for it. I think it was Braith in whiterun who I found particularly aggravating one day, so I decided to kill her mother. Then, next time she ran past me, she was all like "I HATE YOU! You're mean!" so I was like, "lulz" and decided to kill her dad, too. Then I decided that was too much and reloaded to before I killed her dad...but I decided not to load prior to when I killed her mom, so for the next couple hundred hours of gameplay, every time Braith ran by me, she'd yell at me. In retrospect, perhaps I was a bit harsh. xD
  13. Yeah, I know where the logs are supposed to be located, they just haven't been showing up because of this. But really, you're supposed to modify the .ini in that one? I swear I've modified Skyrim_Default in the past...ah well, I'll give it a shot. Thanks. :D
  14. Seems interesting. I have a busy weekend and finals on Monday, so I won't register now, but I'll bookmark it. I might just make an account over spring break. :D
  15. Here's the last thing I did while playing Skyrim - I stop by Whiterun, when a thought pops into mind : Oh, that's right. I have a little girl I adopted. Better go check on her. So I visit Breezehome, when my 'daughter', Ma'isha (Khajiit 'child') runs up to me, all happy and whatnot. Ma'isha : Papa! Look what I got! I notice a little rabbit behind her. Can I keep it? Pleeeease? Me : Sure. Ma'isha : Thank you, Papa! You're the BEST! :3 Me : Mhm. Then, for no reason whatsoever, I take out my sword and kill the bunny in one fell swoop. Ma'isha kneels down and stares at the rabbit as it bleeds out. Ma'isha : Why?! WHY DID YOU DO THIS?!?! :( Me : ... *reloads last save* So, yeah. Just wondering if other people had any entertaining tales of being a huge jerk in Skyrim for no reason that they'd like to share. Haha, I can't be the only one, right?
  16. Did you enable Papyrus logging? If so, you should have a log now. If you take a look at it, you should be able to get a sense of what's causing you to CTD in particular by paying attention to warnings and the like. Aside from using BOSS to sort and manage your load order, I can't really suggest much else at the moment.
  17. I've never launched Skyrim through NMM - I think I may have tried once, and it didn't work for me. So long as you're connected to Steam, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to launch the game, provided you upgraded. What sort of mods do you have enabled? You might have to validate your files through Steam, I'm guessing.
  18. Enable god mode before hugging someone, maybe? That's what I always do in real life, because the same thing happens to me if I hug someone without being properly prepared. But in all seriousness, that's a pretty wacky issue. Does the issue persist with all NPCs? Or does it work with some, such as those included in the Bathing Beauties suite?
  19. Okay, so, right off the bat, it looks like you have some stuff loaded incorrectly. 'Green water fix' should be loaded after the WATER mods, and Dawnguard and Dragonborn should be loaded right after your update.esm. Also, CoT Interiors Warm should most likely be loaded right after Climates of Tamriel.esm. I'm sure you have other instances of stuff being loaded in a conflicting manner, but I'm too lazy to go through that entire list and figure it out. I'd also highly recommend you download and install the unofficial patches for Skyrim, Dawnguard, and Dragonborn, so long as you follow the installation instructions and put them in the right order. :P Also, you should download BOSS to help sort your load order. How stable, generally, is your game within the 15 minutes you can play before you crash?
  20. To enable Papyrus logging, just go into your 'Skyrim_default.ini' in your main Skyrim folder and edit the text under the Papyrus section so it looks like this - [Papyrus]fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=500.0bEnableLogging=1bEnableTrace=1bLoadDebugInformation=1 After a while of playing, you should start getting Papyrus logs. It's a good way of tracking bugs and figuring out what might have caused you to crash. It's not fool-proof, and it doesn't necessarily mean the last line of your log is what caused you to crash, but it's helpful in figuring out what might've caused the CTD.
  21. 230 mods is well past the stable limit, which is around 155 or so, if I recall correctly. It's no wonder you're crashing. :P First, a copy of your load order would be helpful. And do you have Papyrus logging enabled?
  22. Prior to my last play session, I had the values under my [Papyrus] section set as such - [Papyrus]fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=500.0bEnableLogging=1bEnableTrace=1bLoadDebugInformation=1 Yet I noticed that after playing, I couldn't locate any Papyrus logs. I've used Papyrus before without any issues. So I opened the .ini back up, and the values had mysteriously changed to this - [Papyrus]fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=500.0bEnableLogging=0bEnableTrace=0bLoadDebugInformation=0 Has anyone else experienced this?
  23. Does setting the quest progression ahead with the console not 'finish' the quest properly, either? What you're describing sounds a lot like what happened to me when I was fighting Miraak on the Dragonborn DLC.
  24. Glad you got it sorted out. :D
