  1. Be careful with the power armor stoarge. My entire suit dissapeared off of the rack after I had done some crafting of structures and defensive turrets. I am wondering if the crafting system dismantled my armor for materials...I do not know. I loaded an earlier save and now my power armor is stored in a trunk next to the armor rack.
  2. That's not my take at all! The map is pretty small for a game of this type, maybe half the size of Skyrim, I don't know for sure. But I am having fun and I am happy to have the game.
  3. At the risk of sounding trite... hang in there - it gets better. For future reference, you might try creating [Relz] threads (both here and at the Bethsoft forums) with a detailed description and images, topped off with download links. Even though I take a haphazard approach to promotion at times (I prefer a minimalist presentation), I recognize its value during the mod's initial release. You might also consider collaborating with other modders on small projects as a means to acquire recognition (and links to your other mods). If all else fails, add images of gargantuan breasts, along with a catchy, risque title that subtly suggests sexual themes, e.g., "HOUSE OF TITS". I guarantee a 25% increase in downloads. :)
  4. Hi Wabbawabbjack...that's the mod. I want to play...http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/40433//? running the Hotel and Casino. It's not installed yet but it is the reason I want to fix the front entrance to the Bison Steve.
  5. Yeah, they have been hit&miss for a few days while they work on thier servers.

  7. I use weapons that I like to use and then consider what damage they can do. A couple of my personal preferences then would sound odd to the OP as I much prefer a pistol to a SMG and I also prefer the .308 chambered sniper rifle to the .50 Cal anti-material rifle. Weapons that do adequate damage are just fine with me which means that I do not have to use a weapon that I don't care much for just because it does max damage for its class. In real-life I use a model 1911 .45 acp as my favorite side arm shooter and a Ruger mini-14 and/or mini-30 as my main shooting rifles. So I often find my character in the game arming himself in a similar fashion without a thought given to carrying a weapon model based on maximum damage. Weapons that do adequate damage that one feels comfertable with due to handeling, experiance or a number of different reasons is often superior to a more powerful weapon that would do more damage. It's just a matter of player (or personal) preference.
  8. Amatures talk tactics, professinals talk logistics.
  9. Alright what/who bricked up the front door to the Bison Steve Hotel? Seriously the front door is now a solid brown wall, any idea what might have done it? I have loaded and unloaded Mods. that I thought may have an effect but can't seem to find the fix. This is the only texture pack that I run and unlaoding it dosen't return the front door. 10. 1-melee weapon. 3-handgun perferbly suppressed. 4-Rifle-I like the 308 chambered semi-auto varients. 5-Sniper rifle tricked out. I perfer the 308 over the 50 cal. 6-Heavy weapon-grenade launcher or rocket. 7-stimpacks. I use a mod with a grenade key for dyanamite and gernades and have tossing them it quick-keyed to a center mouse button.
  11. A man takes what he can get when living in the wild, wild west or the Wasteland. Stiff upper lip and pay your dues like the big modders do ~shrug~. Good hunting, carry on..
  12. Heh, yeah, crossing the street is too tough eh... There are workbenches at the abandoned gas station in Novac.
  13. The Novac work benches are right across the street from the Novac motel at the abandoned gas station.
  14. I enjoyed Honest Hearts quite a bit. ~shrug~
  15. From a military point of view thinking that a river would stop an advance is extremely naive and the Colorado river is not very big. Armies have been crossing much larger rivers for ten thousand years with much less resources and technology then Legion or the NCR posses. Hannibal crossed the Alps in several meters of snow and sheer cliffs of thousands of meters of height in 220 BC. He used manpower, fire and vinegar to accomplish it and even crossed with over 20 of his elephants. That task would be close to impossible to duplicate even today. You considerably underestimate the military engineering capabilities of both factions. Not to mention that it would take an extremely evil or ignorant character to destroy such a valuable asset to mankind as the Hoover dam and it would not come anywhere near you're character's stated goals.
  16. Depth is what this version of XCOM lacks. It is a short game built on rails from beginning to end. It's a fun tactically but lacks all of the strategic depth of the original.
  17. This is a good fun game. It is not in the same league as the original XCOM but not many games are. The original XCOM game is a classic, this version is not. Not reaching "classic" status is not enough to make me call this version of XCOM a bad game, I am having fun with it.
  18. I like this game, it's fun. It is the best XCOM game that has come out in quite a few years but I do not find it nearly as well done as the original XCOM game was. There are so many little touches missing that they add up to a huge difference in feel and fun. Gimme some damn grenades! I always had a Grenadier along with my squad in the original game who was a fun and helpful addition to the squad. I also want (and miss) proximity grenades which were amazingly useful! Gimme some darn pockets!! I want to be able to target sections of walls and ships to punch entries with my laser and plasma weapons. I want to be able to toss a healing kit to another soldier in my squad. I very much want RANDOM maps like the original game had!! The tactical maps could also have been a bit larger and much more diverse (with some type of random) generation factored in to mix up the tactical battles considerably. I would also find an decent overhead view of the tactical map to be a great aid. The game also needs much better artificial intelligence routines for the aliens, one would think that by today's programming and machine standards that something many times better could have been provided. Multiple bases and base invasions are non existent which I find to be a huge disappointment! I own a high end PC that I cheerfully pay for and maintain for gaming and I would like a game that is coded to take advantage of the abilities of a PC gaming machine and not just a consul game ported over to the PC. Gimmie some better camera controls as well please. I could go on listing little things that when added up turn into a HUGE amount of missing features and fun. Yes, I am disappointed that no one yet has been able to match the excellence of the first XCOM game which I played for many months if not a year or so. This game I have played twice, once on normal and then again on classic. With some sever modding I plan to give it another go but I am feeling like I will be headed back to SKYRIM after a short XCOM break. The builders could have made moding this game could be a bit easier on the community as well, which may have turned into more sales for them due to a growing and improving XCOM Enemy Unknown reputation maybe? I don't really know but I would think that would be a boon for business. On the positive side as I said above I like this game and I have had a few surprisingly tense and fun situations arise while playing it. I think that any PC game capable of providing moments tense enough to make me sit straight up in my seat and hold my breath as the AI takes it's turn (s) is a good game. I do not feel that I wasted my money purchasing this game and in no way do I really have anything too bad to say about this version of XCOM other then it is not nearly as capable as the original XCOM game. But realistically how many PC games have been? I do think this is a good game but it is not nearly the stunning classic as the original is.
