  1. In Requiem, by default, one has to read books about Smithing in-game to get the Smithing perks. I believe the book for the first perk, Craftsmanship, is "The Craftsman's Guide" or something along those lines. The smiths in towns generally sell them; try Adrianne Avenicci. If you dislike this feature, you can turn it off in the MCM.
  2. All you do is do Herma-Mora a favour. You never bind your soul to it, you just make a transaction. It gives you the Oghma Infinium and calls you its champion for having done it a favour, expecting you to do it further favours for more power, but you're perfectly at liberty to raise your middle finger and go off to do crosswords. Mora's modus operandi is more subtle than all of those "give me your immortal soul" pacts, which tend to leave the Prince in question in a position of fighting it out with a load of other Aedra and Daedra.
  3. The geology of Skyrim is indeed confusing. It might help to bear in mind that the game is of course not an accurate representation of Skyrim in TES lore - making a game the size that Skyrim is supposed to be would take a ridiculous amount of time and probably require a NASA supercomputer to run. Skyrim has enormous mountains and an unspeakably huge caldera that would likely make Red Mountain look like a firework if it ever erupted venting huge amounts of hot steam, so the climate is hardly ordinary, not to mention the fact that Nirn =/= Earth. There are already mods for both things you suggested (Climates of Tamriel: Winter Edition and Skyrim Flora Overhaul: Summer Edition) - I personally recommend the latter.
  4. Somebody make a mod to make Heimskr give praise to the OP. In serious terms, though, could Liches in true form make civilians and weak-minded enemies flee in terror? No ordinary mortal would charge an undead abomination of a necromancer with their bare hands.
  5. ...Wow. You just keep out-doing yourself, EnaiSiaion. You already have the best spell package mod for Skyrim, now you're making better ones. Excited for this and Thunderchild, even more so for Destructionverse (is that Warlockverse?) and Druidverse.
  6. I don't really buy "nobody wants magic junk". People of Skyrim would rather have an ordinary sword than one that sets people on fire or banishes Daedra or makes enemies flee? I doubt it, somehow. Also, at the College of Winterhold, Sergius Turrianus claims that there is great demand for enchantments. Other than that, this could be a great mod.
  7. You're stuffed either way with the Civil War - the Stormcloaks are sort of sympathetic, but highly conservative and short-sighted racists operating under the sunk-cost fallacy, whereas the Empire is a crumbling regime becoming more and more oppressive under pressure from the Thalmor that is dragging every province down with it. If When the Thalmor attack again, Skyrim wouldn't survive alone (Stormcloaks) but then neither would the Empire with Skyrim having taken a beating from the War (Imperials), not to mention that not worshipping Talos could unmake the world.
  8. Go to Steam, right-click on Skyrim, Properties>Local Files>Validate Cache Files (or something along those lines).
  9. Climates of Tamriel, Skyrim HD, IMAGINATOR, Realistic Lighting Overhaul, Deadly Dragons, Apocalypse Spell Package, Empowered Magic, Duel - Combat Realism. Also, choose a face textures mod. There are dozens, so it's your choice, but I use Better Females - Natural Edition.
  10. In no particular order: Lydia - needs no explanation Paarthurnax - benevolent ancient dragon Serana - character development J'zargo - "J'zargo can learn much from these men and elves, but they can never be as dashing as he" Tolfdir - fireball-throwing octogenarian (probably older, in fact, considering he's a wizard)
  11. I'd say Elsweyr, maybe with Valenwood too because Elsweyr is rather small.. I'm hoping for a Skyrim save import feature, and for the main quest to involve either continuing as the Dovahkiin to free the province (losing the ability to Shout would detract from the game's appeal to people whose first ES game was Skyrim), or working as one of his/her agents to bring down the Dominion. I don't think we should see Summerset until at least ES VII, because the Dominion is a great and interesting antagonistic force.
  12. Killing Paarthurnax is just a silly idea. I like Esbern, but he's paranoid and driven half-mad by the Thalmor to the point where he can't see reason. Delphine is just arrogant and stupid. Even if it is moral to kill someone out of vengeance for crimes they committed millennia ago and spent their whole lives trying to put right (Paarthurnax saved and helped save the mortal races' collective backsides twice), it's still a ridiculous idea because Paarthurnax is teaching other dragons the Way of the Voice. There are hundreds or thousands of dragons, all immortal unless killed by Dovahkiin, and we don't know if they can reproduce or if Akatosh can make more - turning some into pacifists is the best option for damage control. Paarthurnax - an ancient and extremely knowledgeable dragon with great influence on the dragons - would be far more helpful against the Thalmor in the inevitable Second Great War than two human fighters incapable of clear reasoning ever could be.
  13. Enchant jewellery with health and magicka regeneration. Mods: Skyrim HD Climates of Tamriel Realistic Lighting Overhaul IMAGINATOR Pure Waters Deadly Dragons Apocalypse Spell Package
  14. I really rather liked Dawnguard's backstory. The real world is sometimes a horrible place, and Nirn can be even worse - on Earth people sometimes get away with murder and rape, but on Nirn they're literally miniature gods, and fighting them would be suicide. Serana's characterisation is a lot more effective when you think that, even discounting the millennia asleep, she's centuries old but acts like she's still in her 20s because of what happened to her and her upbringing. That's some serious arrested development. ^Unless you're playing a madman vampire mass-murderer (I think even the Dawnguard might have hesitated at hiring somebody like that) it's easily reasoned that the better idea would be to find out the vampires' plan before breaking out the Thu'um. The Daedric Princes can't be challenged for the same reason they can't influence Nirn very much - they're almost entirely blocked by strange Oblivion-y magic. One thing that does bug me, though, is why in Oblivion Serana went back to Castle Volkihar, and how she got out of there when she realised that the omnicidal maniac hadn't changed very much.
  15. You can't remove Miraak's mask while playing Skyrim using the console. The closest you could get is empyting his inventory, which would remove all of his equipment (open console, click on Miraak, type "removeallitems"). However, if you open Skyrim.esm, Update.esm and Dragonborn.esm in the Creation Kit, you can edit Miraak and delete his mask from his inventory, then save it as a mod .esp.
  16. It's not that widespread, but because it guarantees a few hits, I suppose. Banning all nudity from the Nexus would be just silly - the adult content censor setting is there for a reason.
  17. I'm sorry for the late post, but how did you add the condition for followers and horses? EDIT: Disregard, please, I didn't read the original posts closely enough. My mistake, sorry.
  18. For me, adding Dragonborn.bsa to SArchiveList and SResourceArchiveList2 worked. Make sure there is a comma and one space between the items.
  19. You aren't the only one - username creation and jetlag don't mix very well. However, people don't generally take much notice of usernames in my experience.
  20. My list of must-haves: Unofficial Patches. Climates of Tamriel, Realistic Lighting Overhaul and IMAGINATOR for atmosphere. Skyrim HD, Benjamin318's textures, Ultimate HD Fire Effects, Better Females (I use the natural version addition and normalmaps by zzjay), aMidianBorn Book of Silence, Ultimate Lush Overhaul, Pure Waters/W.A.T.E.R. and Static Mesh Improvement Mod for textures and meshes. Apocalypse Spell Package and Phenderix Magic Evolved for magic. Deadly Dragons, Frostfall, Footprints, Guard Dialogue Overhaul, Ultimate Follower Overhaul, The Paarthurnax Dilemma, Lightning During Thunderstorms and Realistic Needs and Diseases for immersion.
  21. I use Climates of Tamriel (version 3.0. is out now) and Realistic Lighting Overhaul. Just install them both through NMM and disable CoT's Dungeons and Interiors modules through the Skyrim Launcher.
  22. I actually preferred Dawnguard's main quest (Dawnguard has fleshed-out characters and Snow Elves; Dragonborn has a tubby man in a silly mask and a Daedric Prince with a bad cold), but where Dragonborn shines is the sidequests and new environment.
  23. Dawnguard was great because of its long, detailed questline and (hurray!) actual character development, whereas Dragonborn is more focused on the myriad sidequests, which are rather good.
