  1. Several corrupted files on the server (related to the world). Working on it.
  2. Update slightly postponed. Trying for tomorrow. And KD is . . . 2496? Which is the Thai year for 1953, and in 1953 there were floods in the UK and Japan, and . . . I'm sure there's a connection somewhere!
  3. UPDATE: Map hopefully being restored in the next day or so. Things look stable enough to move to the earlier map while keeping 1.6.6 I'll give it a go when I can get on with less lag (tonight/tomorrow morning for me).
  4. As stated before, I went a little heavy handed with the tnt. I then botched up the restoration efforts. As such I must apologize to those whose houses have inadvertently vanished. They may have in fact been relocated to some far corner of the map . . . but I wouldnt' count on it. At least its a temporary map.
  5. I will be afk for the next couple days. Be good all.
  6. Yeah . . . that was my fault KD. I didn't realize that breaking them would also cause the problems!
  7. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO READ ANY BOOKS DESCRIBED ON THE MAP. It will not go well. You have been warned.
  8. Yep Ub3r - we've been working on it this morning. :) Details: Server is now on 1.6.6. The map has been backed up, and the server is temporarily running a copy of http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/130187-adv%E2%96%88%E2%96%88%E2%96%93-imperial-lands-v041-vote-poll-4-important-new-banners-40k-dls%E2%96%93%E2%96%88%E2%96%88/ For you to explore and have fun with. Permissions have been restricted relative to what they were previously. No warps or teleporting (admins may still do so, but are asked to do so only for moderating circumstances). You're welcome to tear apart the map as you see fit, but please don't be too destructive. Wantoon destruction should only occur in remote wilderness areas (if at all). Additionally, abuse of fellow players is a no-go.
  9. I find it helps the lifetime of the laptop if you actually turn it off. I cant understand people who leave their PC's on 24/7... It does indeed. To be honest though, mine generally runs ~150/168 hours of the week. Its a convenience deal, coupled with the fact that I use it as an alarm system. ;) I do run mine almost constantly on a airflow pad, and used to monitor the status pretty heavily. The last year or so though, I've simply let it be. I'll probably need to open it up and clean/reseat heatsinks in the future, but right now it runs beautifully. My 2 cents.
  10. You know KD, I think you might almost be right . . . I'm going to be away from this Sunday to Thursday. I've been pondering putting up an adventure type map (skylands, etc) for a while and this might be the time. (current map would be saved, obviously). It wouldn't be entirely no plugins, but minimal. Hmmm. Must ponder.
  11. True KD, very true. I thought it quite nice that I ran into (no less than) 6 separate gold ores in less than 2 minutes though. :) We'll be moving up, but not right now (plugin issues)
  12. As noted, creepers are present but don't explode. They should also be pretty easy to kill. I was originally going to let them explode and simply restrict them to very low levels, but the restrictions didn't work so well. As such, they now exist everywhere. There's an additional kit available for players which provides a stack of torches. Use "/kit" to see the kits available. Then use "/kit torches" to get the torches kit (1 stack of torches). Additionally, I seem to have developed a minor talent for finding isolated blocks of gold ore.
  13. Update Regarding Mobs: From what I have gathered, it seems we're having a complication with the passive mob limit. It appears that sufficient numbers of tamed wolves can prevent other passive mobs from spawning. However, I am not entirely certain why this is occurring, as it seems that the limit should only affect those loaded in memory, and should also be dependent on player numbers (which in our case seems only to up the limit load by 1). Additionally it doesn't seem to be affecting most other servers. Enemy mobs are controlled separately, so there's no worry there. Currently, you will see some mobs - just very rarely.
  14. Sometimes I wonder this too. Its nice to have updates, but when they have to patch an update minutes after it is released Server will be staying as is for a while until things get cleaned up.
  15. Host is doing unscheduled maintenance it would appear.
  16. Mobs are not a particularly big deal (especially on multiplayer). You will die some times, but your main loss will be materials and tools (some of which you can recover). Easier than many games you have likely played. Its more of a giant sandbox still. If you have only tried the alpha-online demo (the free part), I would recommend you consider the "full" version. Admittedly it is a sandbox, but you as such you can really make it into anything you want. The time per dollar spent ratio of minecraft has been, for me, on par with TESIV and F3. Perhaps even better.
  17. Make em wide and shallow? Similar to some of the aero wing concepts?
  18. I'm looking at the thefts. Protection is also available for areas. Ask me/other admin when online.
  19. Thanks for the heads up SRD - I'll see if I can find it. Also, let me know how much you lost and I'll compensate you. I just finished catching up on the server log - some hilarious moments in there. :)
  20. HEADS UP: MOBS ARE LIVE Be careful out there. Edit: Sorry to leave you two (anton + kd). Lag on my end.
  21. Woow Wiccan - thank you for creating that! That looks amazing! To those who are wondering, we've had a pretty decent time the last couple of days. Server has been solid. Tommorrow (my time) some limited enemy mobs will be one. Be careful out there.
  22. I have no idea what happened to that post. I know I didn't delete it . . . odd. The server got moved to a different box in an attempt to clear up some of the connectivity issues. As a result the IP address has change slightly. As Genzel said, change the last three digits to 174. The entire address in the attached pictures
  23. And I thought it was my local network problems preventing me from doing so . . . I've sent a message off to the host to see if they know of the problem. I'll let everyone know as soon as I do.
  24. Nice Quantum - when I come by your place we're going to have to play a round of something. I warn you beforehand though, I am horrible when it comes to using a console. Edit: An apology to Sage for disappearing on him.
