  1. SO, after a fair while spent trawling the net to find a good, solid reference to what this actually is, I turned up blank. Maybe i'm looking in the wrong places, short and sweet of it is, does any one, ANY ONE know what the *Achievment xx: A winnar is you* is? Game crashes just before this log is entered
  2. Id even suggest perhaps you have a bottleneck, what game are you playing? When Skyrim first shipped, it was noticed that it was suprisingly heavy on the CPU rather than the GPU. If you've had a look in the CK you'd notice why. What CPU, exact model etc, are you running?
  3. Probably wouldn't want to go too much higher, especially since my understanding is that the TI range is already set at a higher stock value for both the clock and memory values, you really should be fine with DUAL 650s, SLI setups often suffer massive micro stutter/FPS issues, have you researched anything?
  4. Pretty frustrating on Legendary still. Conjuration was my fall back in earlier days, but now, I don't know. My guy is becoming an Alchemist just to stay alive. Orchendor basically ran me out of the ruins. (I don't know why dragons are so feared in Skyrim; Orchendor and Briarhearts are the ones to really be afraid of; I think either one could lay waste to the entire province.) I need MUCH better stuff. A long time ago, I tried some strange characters. One was an Entreprenuer; he tried to buy his way to the top. He might just have a chance on Legendary. Or maybe my Master Artisan (crafting skills guy). What I really need is a conjured bow that shoots backwards, or potions that explode when you lob them over your shoulder while running away. You could always use runes and fire them at your feet as you flee in terror :P
  5. I a world designed, I can make world environments and the like, I don't like scription, ai pathing and I can't do any sort of texture/mesh work but I have 200+ hours working with and on environments
  6. I am happy to write a select few descriptors for non English users or those that are unable to do so themselves for what ever reason. Just put it through a translator and from your native language to English and I can piece the rest together and shoot you and draft! Regard, Screendrop
  7. *support enough, whoops
  8. I'm not sure how's many of you have noticed, a while ago last year, Monster Mod by dog town went missing, for the thousands of users of this absolutely terrific mod, this was a horrible thing to happen to arguably one of the best mods IMO across all nexus sites. The user, dogtown was banned and his mod was subsequently removed because of copy right texture infringements. I'm not here to talk about that. Very recently, the mod was reuploaded, minus the illegal textures to the nexus by Ironman5000. Even myself, who avidly follows each update of MoMod missed out on the revival of the nexus based monster, so I'm assuming many of you have too. The download can be found here >http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/35631/? Make sure you drop in, give Ironman a thanks for all the hard work and take time to download and endorse his fantastic and difficult work! On another note, for those very few still unaware, the comprehensively awesome Sounds of Skyrim has also Ben reuploaded by Cliffworms, bloat free, I cannot enunciate my support for this mod, also try it out, it's also bloat free now too!! Happy hunting ~Sd
  9. Could we eventually see a mod that creates a "stoneflesh" like shield around the player when cast, but uses no initial magika, does not disperse after any time but absorbs damage and detracts from magika and only disperses when Magika reaches 0? Thanks if possible :) ~SD
  10. I have it already! Nice to know though :) ~SD
  11. What you could do is have the Resurrect spell kill the zombie straight away and then re spawn a zombie follower that for all intents, is a zombie but you can engage with it. Dirty work around but its all I could think of. You'd need to know papyrus too...
  12. SKSE, NNM and ESP/ESMs Okay, this is for new modders, if you’ve been around the Nexus of Beth modding for a while, you don’t need to read this. You can, but be warned, it will be an immense waste of your time. This is just a short write up, to try and clear the air of some of the common misconceptions I see that new modders bring to the scene, believe me, I was once a young, new fresh face and it was only though reading hundred if not thousands of guides and articles did I come to learn a bit about modding, especially Skyrim modding. SKSE Here’s the thing. SKSE is not strictly a mod. People get confused with this as it is installed etc and im pretty certain one can install it with Nexus Mod Manager, or NNM. This would lead to many people believing that perhaps it was a mod or the such. Strictly speaking, this is not true. What SKSE does is facilitate mods in the certain vanilla papyrus script function were impossible to execute on the vanilla script resource system, (as a non-scripter, I’m not sure how this works in theory, but I know how it works in practice) due to the Devs simplying overlooking certain script function or that they simply weren’t required for the vailla game. What SKSE does is EXTEND script function, hence the same, Skyrim Script Extender. This allows modders to integrate new scripting functions, again, I am not certain how this works, but all that new modders ought to know is that SKSE is NOT a mod, but a tool that allows you to use SKSE dependant mods, such as SkyUI, Deadly Headshots etc…. NNM This one should be a lot easier. NNM is mod organisation tool that stands for NEXUS MOD MANAGER. NNM allows the user to easily access their mods and install mods both from the Nexus and also from the computer. This again, I must stress for those of you that don’t know IS NOT A MOD. NNM makes changed to the following aspects of Skyrim. DATA(folder), LOAD ORDER(notepad file), PLUGINS(notepad file) and SKYRIM(folder), assuming that mods affect these areas. An important thing to note is that NOT ALL MODS ARE NNM COMPATIBLE. Although a large, (most) amount are, not all are, and can be. I would recommend not installing tools like SKSE or TESVedit through NNM, I know that guides might say to or that it’s easy or you’re new but problems can occur and it’s a hell of a lot easier to keep only ESP and ESM files in NNM and hand install utilities and tools. ESP and ESM Okay, this is where I’ve seen a lot of people get lost. The thing with this is that NNM allows you to install mods without actually knowing how; A) It works, the ESP or ESM B) Where they go And also really gives you little experience in installing mods. An ESP is a file that makes edits to the SKYRIM.ESM or UPDATE.ESM and in the case of having Dawnguard or Dragonborn, those respective ESMs. This is done in the CK and is installed to the DATA folder in your Skyrim folder. I suggest after a while familiarising yourself with these folders and files as down the track, on a fresh install of NNM and SKYRIM, it actually becomes more convenient and often more reliable to hand install certain mods. (Although, some mods such as CBBE and WIS have NNM install helper’s exclusive to NNM). ESMs are master files, im not sure about the succinct difference between the two but ESMs are MASTER files. They are usually filed with important resources and some older mods may come packaged with and ESM AND ESP. The main Skyrim file, SKYRIM.ESM is a master as is the UPDATE.ESM. I hope that cleared the air a bit, feel free to PM me any questions regarding, Load order, SkyProc, CK, NNM, SKSE, Wyre Bash, TESVedit, if asked by enough people, I’ll post a thread about specific other advanced modding tools/resources/aspects. Happy Hunting!!
  13. I searched the CK and there were no instances of an "tame" encounters, except tame mamoths, interesting, definitely mod related then.
  14. I really don't think so, screendrop. People on both sides on this thread have both brought up excellent points on why Skyrim could stand up alone or not. Highly simplifying the whole issue, I think we're stuck with either a lonely province or a dying empire. Neither are strong enough to withstand the Thalmor as it is. IF the Empire would get its act together and do something, but it doesn't. IF Skyrim could ally itself with other provinces. But neither of those things are offered ingame. So as far as the Civil War questline goes, in my opinion, no side is stronger than the other. It is purely a question of roleplaying your character's allegiance. This actually upsets me that we don't get a conclusion. But it's the same with series, books and such... We just have to wait for the next chapter. And how annoying it is. :/ At least, it's not like Legacy of Kain, where we got 5 games and then the series were abandoned and we'll never ever get a conclusion. I believe a huge part of my soul died thanks to that event. I must agree, I was mistaken, from a LIFE perspective, we could conclude that one side would HAVE to be victorious if it came down to it, its the way it works, BUT since Beth get to choose, we can't say that one side would win :) @Lithium Flower: I'm glad you like it! I haven't found anyone else to discuss it with yet. I watched two episodes (Ulfric Vladimir appears only on the second) so far, but I'm really enjoying it. The acting is very good. The villain is one of my favorite characters already (their landlord). So far it hasn't abused violence/sex like Game of Thrones or Spartacus, which I always find a cheap, childish attempt at being "omfg so mature". And the best of all, imo: everyone is disgustingly dirty. People in fur boots walking in muddy water. Hair that clearly haven't been washed in a whole season. I love medieval scenarios/costumes that don't assume people had easy access to hygiene. That's one of my issues with Skyrim - it's too clean!
  15. The sooner people agree to disagree, the sooner we get to the mead hall to celebrate our shared love of Skyrim. I think I finished my side of the argument with post uh... #918. There's no right choice, no better choice, no side that will have a better chance of winning against the Thalmor. You have a checklist with pros/cons of either side. It's all a matter of what character are you playing and what he thinks is the most important. People get aggressive and/or defensive because humans want to do "the right thing" or "the wrong thing" - be the savior or the monster. We kinda have a BSOD when there is no clear line between hero and villain, when we can't worship one side and demonize the other. But from a practical, purely objective point of view, it is hypothetically true that bias aside, one side would have a greater chance of defeating the Thalmor, correct?
  16. Same, as if they thought no one would pick up on it...
  17. You can't play Skyrim without Steam, there are ways to use SKSE to get around this, with login errors or have ATTK shut down steam but steam MUST be installed to play...
  18. Lol, just realized your Skyrim IF looks suss as! Super suspicious now...
  19. Are you running the latest version of TESV?
  20. Have you checked to see if the actual ESP is present in the DATA file for Skyrim?? ~SD
  21. Sure, as long as you know the name of the esp, you'll be good to go Go to your steam file and find the Skyrim root directory and open data. Find the ESP and ALL RELATED .BSAs .BSLs or WHATEVER LOOSE FILES ACCOMPANY IT Copy to an external directory Do what ever you want with them ~SD
  22. Try and find out the "Miraak" version he is using, then try and find out what state he is in. 1) Did you start a new game when you got Dragonborn? 2) Have you verified the integrity of the game Cache? 3) Are you a scripter or familiar with the papyrus code? ~SD
  23. I'm pretty sure that the adoption mechanism is something like > IsadoptedState? ===>false >BeginAdoptedstatequests on player xyz Anyway, the point is, im pretty sure that its a quest stage Regards ~SD
  24. No, and yes. Firstly, I doubt its SkyRe because as far as I know, SkyRe only alters certain values in the CK rather than meshes and textures. Secondly, I know from experience that IA doesn't remove textures, but that's definately your problem. Simple, download IA again, uninstall the faulty and install the downloaded new version, should fix the invisible texture issues. BTW, any mod that uses .BSA may have this issue, IMO, mod with .BSA instead of loose files often are packed wrong and consequently, you loose the textures, or the meshes, or the scripts or whatever is in the .BSA. Regards ~SD
