  1. There are two .ini files - the _default one in Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion, and one in My Documents\Games\Oblivion. It's the latter you should modify. If you open the .ini in a text editor you should be able to search for any terms you can't find.
  2. When I found a dead Orc (I think he's the one in charge of property deeds) lying under the bridge leading to castle Skingrad naturally my first thought was "Did he jump or was he pushed?" wondering whether I'd stumbled across a murder mystery quest. Since that didn't seem to be the case one can only admire Radiant AI which allows NPCs to realise the bleakness and meaninglessness of their existence and allows them to commit suicide.
  3. Just had to grin when the heavily armoured commander of the Kvatch guard earnestly told a girl in a dress who's desperately trying not to break a fingernail that she had far more combat experience than his soldiers... sort of explains what happened in Kvatch!
  4. You forgot the most useful one, methinks:  save "whatever name I want to give my savegame" - does exactly what it says on the tin: allows you to create a new savegame and giving your save a name without going through the menu.
  5. If you have a spare keyboard you could try connecting that, to see if that works - but since you can type the ` character it doesn't seem likely that that's the problem. Apart from that you could try saving your game and then working your way through the keys, to find out if there is a key or key combination (eg with and without caps lock on) that will bring up the console. :/ If that doesn't work, you could try emailing Bethesda's tech support, to see if they have any suggestions.
  6. I'm assuming that the 2 .ini entries you mentioned only specify where on the screen the text appears - I couldn't find anything in the .ini about keys assigned to the console.
  7. Hve you tried it with the ~ button? I'm using a UK layout keyboard - maybe the button assigned to bring up the console depends on your keyboard layout?
  8. Managed to take a screenie - this is what the console looks like for me.
  9. Have you tried just typing in a console command after pressing ` ? Can't post any screenshots, I'm afraid, since I haven't got those working yet, but I've used the console to save games just by typing 'save' and a name for the savegame.
  10. Pressing ` seems to work for me - however, it doesn't bring up a console window as in Morrowind, but a cursor in the lower left hand corner of the screen. Any console commands you type in should show there.
  11. After lots of last minute panic we released a beta version of Iredior Conspiracies today. Unfortunately it IS only a beta - with the release of Oblivion now imminent we've simply run out of time. Iredior Conspiracies is not finished - there are unfurnished interiors, placeholder items, broken quests, and probably scripts running rampant doing unspeakable things in dark corners. Due to time pressures we haven't had a chance to fully test Iredior yet. So why are we releasing a beta? We felt it was only fair to give people a chance to wander around the city before Oblivion is released rather than not release Iredior at all. Iredior Conspiracies has been in production for over 3 years now. Despite several setbacks, we persevered - and to release an unfinished version that we know is not as good as it could be, a version that has not been properly tested, is not easy. However, for the moment this is as complete as Iredior is going to be (though we may release updates or bugfixes in the future, any work done on Iredior will be at a much gentler pace - after the frantic pace of the last few months I think we deserve a break :) ). Thanks to everyone who helped make this beta release possible. :)
  12. Give your creature a unique ID, then provide dialogue specific to that ID.
  13. Have you checked your warnings.txt file? What errors does it mention?
  14. I've danced to most of the bands you mentioned at some point during the last year, I'm sure, and been to a NIN gig last summer. But then I'm really old. ;D
  15. deathboy - music to crash cars to Saw them at October's Whitby Goth Weekend (even though they aren't a goth band  ), and IMO they were the best band of the weekend. Interesting sound, and intriguing lyrics. I like just about every song on the album, but if I had to pick a favourite it would probably be 'Crawlout'. Looking forward to their new album, which I've heard is going to be released soon.
  16. Fields of the Nephilim - Mourning Sun It's certainly been a while since the last FotN release.. yet the sound of Mourning Sun is still recognisably Nephilim - epic soundscapes reminiscent of Psychonaut Lib and Elizium rather than the harsher sounds of the Nefilim's 'Zoon'. Not sure yet what I think of it. So far nothing on the album grabs me like 'Trees Come Down', 'Moonchild' or even 'Shine', but then I've only listened to the album about once a day since xmas. :)
  17. You actually remembered how to unban someone? ;)
  18. Given the state of public transport in this country, we might hear from again round about Christmas time, then? :D Have fun! And enjoy student union drink prices! :D
  19. Arrrr, mateys! I'd have ye know that tomorrow be international 'talk like a pirate' day. So all ye landlubbers and scurvy sea-dogs out there, look ye here! Now, where's all the rum gone, Dark0ne? YARR!!! :laugh2:
  20. Bah, it must be Dark0ne getting forgetful in his old age! :laugh2: I, on the other hand, do seem to recall your nick, Eltiraaz. Welcome back. :)
  21. I'm sure you did this before, when someone's post count threatened to overtake yours.... And let's not even mention that strange popularity points system back in the olden days.... anytime someone had more points than you you reset that as well :laugh2:
  22. Hehe - I notice that your own post count would appear to have been reset already :P I think I've lost around 1800 posts - can't remember my exact postcount, but I had a few posts more than Switch :D
  23. That was an important post, and it needed to be made. * However, may I suggest that from now on posting in this thread will be left to people who actually have something to contribute. [/spot-the Red-Dwarf-reference] double-goth, your post contributes nothing to this thread, and furthermore constitutes thread necromancy, given that the last post prior to yours is over 10 months old. Whether people read the pinned threads or not is up to them. A fair few people don't seem to bother reading the forum rules either.... *hint* * for those not familiar with 'Red Dwarf: [/sarcasm]
  24. Dark0ne mentioned one of the unmentionables!!!! 4 times!!! *looks out of the window expecting to see 4 certain horsemen, for surely the end of the world is nigh!* :laugh2:
