Oh, Daggerfall was a excellent, and Morrowind was a good game, a great one if you modded it. Oblivion on the other hand was mediocre at best out of the box. In all honesty, Beth is still riding the current of good will they created with Morrowind, but as they go on each release is getting worse and worse. Morrowind wasn't as good as Daggerfall (still good though) Oblivion wasn't nearly as good as Morrowind, and Fallout 3 isn't as good as Oblivion. If that was an attempt at an insult, it was very weak. Smart games can be fun, and often are more entertaining than dumb ones of the same quality. Fallout 3 isn't smart. It reads like it was written by the brilliant minds behind the Scary Movie franchise and as an action game it falls flat on its face. In all honestly the only thing that makes it even playable is the mod community who I respect highly for their ability to take Beth's rancid, steaming turd of game and pull a diamond out of it. That said, I judge a game on what its like out of the box, not what the fans can do to it. Van Buran was going to be fully 3d.

I disagree. Simply no way a Ghoul should ever have 1000 hit points... honestly I'd hold the Behemoth as the Gold Standard of toughness.

Nope. The Commonwealth is the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the Institute is the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Seconded.

1) By that logic, every game should be Madden, Halo, or to use an older example Tomb Raider. The most profitable console games are aimed directly at the lowest common denominator. I personally prefer games that require a functional brain to play. Either way this doesn't matter because consoles these days are powerful enough to run almost anything you can run on an PC. Just look at the KOTOR games. They were good RPGs released on a CONSOLE. 2) If NMA and D&C had that kind of power, Fallout 3 would have been a good game out of the box, which it wasn't. Instead it was a bad shooter that excused its failings because it was an RPG and a Bad RPG that excused its failings because it was a Shooter. Two bads don't make a good. They can make "successful", if you have a big enough name to sell it and a large enough propaganda engine, but all in all, FO3 was not sold on its merits.

Taken from here. Personally I'm down right giddy!

I don't know about you guys, but I find the DLCs balance to be utter nonsense. I mean how can anyone explain why a Radscorpion can be able to rip tanks apart simply because its white, how a Ghoul is tougher than a Super Mutant Behemoth, the logic of the most individually dangerous group in the wastes being mutated hill folk, or why everything in Point Lookout automatically does 35 extra damage just because? Are there any mods that blanket fix this silliness/poor game design?
-
Oh, come on... I can't be the only person dissatisfied with the balance in the later DLCs...

A pair of epic shades like Kamina's would be amusing to see in the game, and not unheard of as someone's already done Yoko's outfit. His cloak would also be cool. http://tomopop.com/ul/7438-550x-IMG_3154.jpg

Most of the towns in FO2 are the same towns you find IRL. New Reno is Reno. Klamath is Klamath Falls, and Redding is Redding. Andale is Annandale. Old Olney is Olney. Springvale is assumed to the Springvale Road segment Great Falls, a suburb of Arlington. Not sure about Canterbury Commons and Arefu. Grey Ditch is obviously (IMHO) a Boneyard Community in Arlington proper.

Hi, are there any rebalance mods that remove some of the stupidity from the DLCs... like how ghouls or inbred swam folk might have more HP than Super Mutant Behemoths or how everything seems to do 30 extra damage just because? I'm looking for something that will put it in line with the rest of the game.

Mod Request - No mutants/science fiction

Here's a tip. If you want a post-apocalyptic FPS that is hard science, play FarCry 2 (Sub-Saharan Africa, Post Nuclear wasteland, not a very big difference). Not only is it what you're looking for, but it has five times the "imershion" of Fallout 3 -

How nice of you :) People you can disagree with me but don't go giving me pointless comments. It's my request, It's something I want. And I want this to have all been a dream and wake up in a world where Van Buran got completed and Black Isle went on to create several more games for the series. Ya don't always get what you want. -

This. Here's a hint, children. They don't make games for people like us anymore. They make games for the retards on the 360 who play nothing but madden and Halo. This is their market. This is US! Any questions? -
Things that dont make sence FO3 version

Lets be honest... the whole damn game is a giant stinking abortion of suck that rapes the Fallout Canon (TES has Lore. Fallout has Canon. Get it right!) so badly they should have called it Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel 2. I miss the 3rd person view and style of the original but could have done without it. Too bad they decided to turn it into a poorly done oblivion mod that manages to fail at both being a action game and an RPG with a plot written by a 9 year old special needs child. To make matters worse Todd is a effing egomanic who is too thick to accept the fact that maybe it wasn't a good idea to turn the game into post-nuclear oblivion with guns that shoot effing teddy-bears! :verymad: And yes, I am an old school fan. I'm also an old school Elder Scrolls fan (Morrowind for the Win) so don't think I'm just a reactionary ass. To me Fallout 3 is about the same as if they decided to make TESV a 3 person side scroller puzzle game. -
Anyone know of any patches that fix this idiocy in all of the DLCs?

One serious suggestion... add patches that make it compatable with seducing woman, Wasteland Gigolo, and/or Animated Prostitution. -
Oh, I want it made I just hate it when mods add so much "awsum krap" that they become too much to use. And in all honest, I would make it but I can't mesh for s**t.
-
:wallbash: Because this is generally a good idea and I want to at least try and warn the guy off from overkilling it.
-
Hell yeah I am. Someone's gotta be. Fallout because of the sarcastic levity innate in the universe has a large amount of give when it comes to pop culture, but someone needs to warn people when they're getting over the top. The reason I'm bitching is because this mod seems like it would be worth downloading because the space western feel of Firefly works well with the post nuclear camp of the Fallout world. Cool. Glad we agree. Though if they ever manage to make a decent random encounter addition to GTS, I think a extremely hard to fid "wrecked firefly" would be amusing as hell and not stick out. Just having a crashed firefly sitting in the middle of the capitol wasteland would stick out like a black guy at a Skinhead Convention.
-
Seriously, you guys need to take a look at it. IMHO GTS is the biggest addition to the modding community since the GECK was released. It ranks up there with FOSE for utility in a fan produced element.
