  1. Are you talking Skyrim or SkyrimSE? And is this through Steam or not. I run both via Steam (thus through Proton) and without any issues but I'm on Ubuntu (Mantic Minotaur). However, I do have a machine with Mint on... There are definitely other Minty people here though so they might be able to help... Might be useful if you can say where the problem is... Sometimes it just isn't possible to say though... Haven't played M&M for years...

    Ban for Fun

What do you mean 'never mind'? It's immediate an automatic banning if you haven't got an account and now - alas - I ban you for not remembering that it's an immediate ban! Banned!

    Ban for Fun

Exactly. Where would Take Five be with 4/4? Definitely banned and banned from the band.

    Ban for Fun

Banned because I sing all the time. I make up songs as I go along.

    Ban for Fun

I ban both of you because I think of Siouxsie (and the Banshees) and I've now got Wheels on Fire playing in my head!
  6. There have been some fabulous swords though - there's Lilarcor from Baldur's Gate 2 which is a talking two handed sword. It's always too heavy for me to use as I play a bard-type character. But Lilarcor is hilariously inappropriate - I usually give Lilarcor to Minsc - I have no idea what they'd make of each other really! I guess to go with the butter knife you could have the cheese knife and yes, I have to say it - but that would be too cheesy... Sweet dreams!
  7. No wonder the retired get confused.
  8. A steam centurion emerges and promptly sets the table for breakfast unfortunately there aren't any spoons and the meal is porridge served in dwemer bowls so everyone tries to eat it with their knives. The sword 'Umbra' is inserted.
  9. Nice one! OK the fruit knife - it pares people. Possibly into pairs.
  10. The link is here: https://next.nexusmods.com/premium and I can see this ok logged in and I'm premium so in theory it ought to be visible to you as well. If it isn't then yell-ish... It certainly answers Q1.
  11. Sensible is likely in they eyes of the beholder. If you follow the OpenMW mod site structure though, it tells you exactly where everything is. Some of the suggested lists are massive but most of the downloads I've looked at, are from here. They don't host anything. To do the username thing you just put @ and then the username but if you start typing in the username it will suggest a list and you can select thereby reducing your typing. It then send them an alert which if you're on a zillion threads is likely useful. Perhaps. The OpenMW nightly build is interesting. They really are working on it all the time!
  12. Oh Weird Al. That's true Wisdom. Remember the ebay song do you?
  13. Six words is all you need. And that will do the deed. Write in prose or even verse Whatever it is we won't curse. Rain makes things very very wet. But dry rain would be problematic. Especially for any apples on trees.
  14. @AaronOfMpls - It's the only strategy game I play. And I've played it since it was released in 1997. Trevor Chan gave it to the community some time back and it's now maintained by them. They tweak the AI etc from time to time but essentially it's the same game as I played back there in 1997. I played very early versions of Civilization but got disenchanted with in 2005 when I thought the best thing about the game was Christopher Tin's Baba Yetu - in fact, I thought the game got in the way of the music so listened to Tin's CD instead... He made some new fans out of that though so perhaps it did some good. The graphics in 7kaa by today's standard are appalling... The last time myself and some others suggested Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 to someone they came back after about 5 minutes complaining about the quality of the graphics (or actually the lack of quality)... It's left me a bit nervous around the edges. of course, we weren't playing BG1 and 2 for the graphics so we couldn't see the problem.... Anyway, 7Kaa is basically blobs that vaguely look like people if you have a good imagination...
  15. I also like the fact that I can adjust my OS to suit my needs. Puppy is fun! What desktop are you running? I have Cinnamon on my Mint machine. I ignored the folder structure to start with as I didn't think I'd be adding many mods and I wasn't sure I'd stay with OpenMW. So, I scrapped my first installation, reinstalled with the nightly build version (0.49) and redid the folders. The OpenMW mod site actually suggests a very sensible structure but I chose to develop my own and so far it's worked very well. if you don't set it up sensibly to start with then it does become a nightmare but if it's sensible you can see exactly what's going on. It's very transparent. I really like the ease of adding mods to OpenMW - it's kind of a recommendation all in itself. I tried Linux several years ago but my PC developed a fault under guarantee which meant returning to base and they wanted Windows back on it so I had to reinstall it. They then updated to Windows 8 (I was using 7). I used it like that for a bit but one day whatever that search mechanism Windows had was annoying me so I installed Ubuntu again. I wonder if @Pagafyr did take a look at OpenMW...
  16. Not my absolute favourite old game (that's BG1 and 2) but I'm currently playing 7kaa. It used to be bundled with Synaptic on Linux - I'm not sure if it still is as I'm using the latest version which I downloaded (it's free and community maintained). It's still my favourite strategy game...
  17. Good! Fun is good. You're extremely welcome.
  18. I'd confirm that it does work! If it fails then just check that you've installed everything it needs. Then try again. rockerbacon gives very clear instructions but it's easy to overlook something... If it doesn't work then come back ! If it does work then please come back so we can congratulate you! And other people can see that it does really, really work...
  19. It is not just for children. Some adults can be deliberately contrary. I know I am for instance. Clean teeth are important for apples. They don't fall out so much.
  20. @UsernameWithA9 Ha! And you're Linux. That's nice too! I notice you run Mint - run Mint on another machine. It's a very nice distro. I'm running Ubuntu Mantic Minotaur on my main machine. I kind of got there historically. OpenMW used to come bundled in Synaptic - as a stable version - not the nightly build I run.
  21. I'd agree with that. if you use a sensible folder structure then it's extremely easy to keep track and to try things out safely away from your already stable set up. It's extremely stable. I'm using 0.49 (the nightly build) and that is extremely stable too. I'm seriously impressed with OpenMW. I used my Steam files for OpenMW. I did try installing OpenMW with my CD based version but it hit a problem and I didn't bother to find out really what the issues was - I simple reverted to the Steam solution as I'd used that before. However, I'm using Linux and it could be that the CD installation had trouble because of Linux... as I never bothered to pursue it, I can't really say. It's interesting that you are so enthusiastic about OpenMW - I am too! Thanks for enlarging on your original opinion - it's always interesting to see fellow gamer's opinions!

    Ban for Fun

I ban Pagafyr for being sensible. I ban Oblivionaddicted for being logical. I ban AaronOfMpls for banning alex2avs because I'd really really like alex2avs to come back here. Anyone that silly must be extremely sensible! Banned.
  23. @UsernameWithA9 Your "What say you" - reminds me of Romeo and Juliet so perhaps Pagafyr would reply in a similar vein... "I'll look to like"... etc etc Anyway, I'm assuming you have tried OpenMW - so do you think it's worth installing? Maybe P needs a little nudge... ish... and isn't reassured by my enthusiasm...
  24. Hmmm you sure you're not referring to the Daggerfall? It's a blade that is indeed as long as a sword but it operates only in autumn and leaves its victims well pruned.
