  1. I agree, it is almost painful to watch them walk! There are several mods to change the way female house-carls walk, BUT they only work on NPCs that you have not yet met (it's one of those odd things that gets included in your game save). So you really need to install them for a new game.
  2. I don't know of any such mod myself but I agree with your point. Have you thought about posting in the mod request forum?
  3. Good point, well made!
  4. I have Vilja as a permanent follower and occasionally use vanilla followers. I have tried all three but found that EFF was the best as it did not interfere with Viljas' own system.
  5. I have always assumed I am one of the older players of Skyrim who use the Nexus. I am 55, but recently I read a post from someone in their 70's. I would be interested to know if there are many older players. I bought my first computer in 1982, a Commodore VIC 20, and still remember the excitement of expanding the RAM by 16k! The first RPG I had was a text only Lord of the Rings game. Sometimes I just wander around Skyrim marvelling at how far we have come! Edit. 19:57 15th Jan. Thanks for all the responses. It's been really interesting hearing about your first encounters with computers. Before I bought the Commodore I used to use my mates' BBC computer, remember those? What a joy it was to get a 5.25" floppy drive and not have to listen for hours to the interminable screeching of the cassette player failing to load a game! Oldest poster so far (who has given age) is 66. Do I hear any advance on 66 Ladies and Gentlemen?
  6. If you search the mod files ( just type in xbox ) there are loads of ways to re-map the controller. Maybe one of them would suit your needs.
  7. "Uhmm I can't sticky since I switched accounts and had the moderators ban my first account, tehandyman, which is the OP of this thread lol." How about starting a new thread solely for coordinating the mod build? Forgot to ask before, do you intend to use any DLC content? I would prefer just vanilla Skyrim and I think it would keep things simpler. I have played all the DLCs and do not want to install them again.
  8. I would really like to get involved. I only have experience of creating interiors, which other people have offered to do. Would it be possible to post a list of all interiors which could be updated to say which ones are being worked on? Perhaps a 'Sticky post' on this thread? Then we could choose one or two to work on without any duplication or wasted effort. Maybe you could do this for other aspects of the mod as well. It might help with the organisation which I imagine will get very complicated as more people get involved. Best wishes for your efforts!
  9. I hope this doesn't sound patronizing but have you used the 'My Content' and 'Content I Follow' options? They are on the drop down menu which appears when you click on your name in the top left corner of the forum pages. Edit. There is also the 'Follow this Topic' button on the top right when you are reading a thread.
  10. I only suggested the cave entrance as a way of getting into the modded area. You could still have outside spaces afterwards from which you can see the castle exterior. It is easier to create a mod if it does not change much in the Skyrim world and is less likely to clash with other mods.
  11. Has anybody mentioned 'Vilja in Skyrim' ? Vilja is an intelligent follower who has a complicated series of quests which eventually lead to romance and marriage. You have to do a good amount of courting to get to the marriage option and then you have the option to 'have an early night'. This is portrayed very tactfully with a fade to black and then a short video (symbolic rather than graphic). All the elements are there but I don't know if it would be possible to apply them to ordinary followers or NPCs. I agree that there needs to be an alternative to the vanilla marriage and the prostitution/rape type mods.
  12. My limited knowledge of modding makes me think most of what you want would be possible, except for the hole in the floor and the open sided prison cells. These would require a view of the outside world from specific locations. You would also need to consider whether your castle could be seen from the outside world. Everything else could be created in a different world space. It would be entered through a cave or similar entry point placed in the Skyrim world. Hope this helps and that others comment.
  13. I don't know if this has been talked about before or if it's even possible. I find it quite distracting that the two moons of Skyrim seem to be illuminated by two separate suns, neither of which is the actual sun of Skyrim. Is it possible to change the appearance of the moons so that they look like they are illuminated from the direction of the actual Skyrim sun? At present this is beyond my modding skills. I would be very pleased if somebody could develop this idea or even just comment on it! Cheers.
  14. Actually, as a Premium Member, it is NOT free for me. I also have to pay for the download cost and time I am trying to find things, of course. And Dark One also has an income stream from the ads on the site, so he is not doing it for nothing. All I would like is some sort of time-scale so I don't waste my time looking for things that are inaccessible. @ Shadeybladey All I was trying to say was, people should be patient and tolerant. The work going on at the moment is very complicated and is being done whilst trying to keep the Nexus running. If you have had any experience with website creation you will know that many problems only show up once a significant volume of traffic happens. The Nexus is huge and has a massive amount of traffic both ways (uploads, downloads, forum comments etc.). Look at the information at the bottom of the home page for details. I cannot think of another website, business, organisation or government that keeps its users informed the way Dark0ne does. I have had many of the problems you mention and others in the last few days but was expecting to have difficulties because of DarkOnes posts. I am happy to wait for it to come good! You have chosen to become a Premium Member, kudos for that. I purchase limited membership when I can afford it, but you do not have to pay anything for the service or the mods. This is what I meant by free.
  15. Read the posts by Dark0ne on the Mods home page! Then try and have some understanding and tolerance for what these guys are doing for us for free!

  17. Changing 'bFloatPointRenderTarget' to =0 in skyrimprefs.ini got rid of the black horizon issue for me. I'm only using ENBoost for performance not graphics. Thanks guys! :)
  18. As far as I know nothing has been removed from Vilja. Try asking in the Vilja mod comments section to be sure.
  19. My daughter (aged 30) made this as a birthday card for me. I am so proud of her, I had to share it with people who would appreciate it! She doesn't play Skyrim but has patiently listened to me witter on about it for over a year.10 bonus points if you can identify the city! I have posted a larger version on the Skyrim Nexus Mods images section.
  20. I don't mean to sound patronizing, but are you sure you are looking in the right place? ..........steam/steamapps/common/skyrim/data If you are sure you have the right location you could try creating the folder yourself and put the files in that. I can't remember if it was always there or if it is created when you first play. Have you just installed the game? By the way, your English is very good!
  21. Maybe now is the time for modders to get more organised and work together to make our own major content for Skyrim. There are many people who specialize in each of the different skills needed, but few who can do it all. We could set up a series of polls, to see what is wanted, on the forum. Then people could volunteer their modding talents accordingly. Yes this would take a lot of organisation, but hey, isn't that one of the skills you need for creating mods already?
  22. I have done what you suggested and tested briefly and it works! Thank you so much!
  23. No I didn't set the prefs.ini. I will try that and check the Vsync setting. Thanks for your help.
  24. Thanks for the comments. It's good to be able to rule out SKSE. Alex2avs, I only used the programs one at a time on separate attempts!
  25. I have been trying to limit my FPS using several methods. I have an EVGA Nvidia graphics card, so have tried using Nvidia inspector, MSI Afterburner and EVGA Precision X. Each one seems to accept the change, but when I run the game with the SKSE launcher Fraps tells me the framerate is variable above the limit I have set. I have a feeling that SKSE is resetting the FPS limit. Does anybody know if this is true, or have a different solution to limiting the FPS? I intend to try a vanilla game with a new character and no SKSE at the weekend but if anyone can help me avoid that I would be very happy! Thanks!
