  1. I've had something similar happen to me at Sanctuary while I was still there, so indeed there was no settlement attack. I planted food and then went to refurbish a house, walked by the farm and all the plants had been destroyed. I replanted them and it happened again. Has only happened to that one particular run-through and not since (I hope I have not just jinxed myself). As an aside, could be some of your defensive weapons shooting at some radroach or something and thus causing damage.
  2. Not sure about the Intimidation overhaul mod but Flashy Joes' mods are available on Discord.
  3. I agree with HeyYou, you have gone over the limit. About a week or so ago, I had the same experience and you had and could have sworn I was below the limit. I used Z-edit to combine several mods and started a new game. No issues.
  4. You can look into Creative Clutter and Do it yourshelf (both on Bethesda) I use these all the time to create bookshelves. Also, this has bookcases (and some other great stuff) https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/16813
  5. Curiously, it does not appear that anyone actually provided any useful advise to the original poster! OP, I feel your frustration and maybe I can offer some guidance. You may not be getting a lot of helpful replies in that just showing what mods you want to install (or have installed) is not enough. Vortex will enable these mods at your request with a pop-up and will almost always enable the plug-ins (sometimes it does not - I think that is because I close out Vortex before it is done with it's job). Have you made changes to your ini files to allow you to mod the game?? Because not much info is provided other than your list of mods, I am assuming that the game is not working because it has not been set up to accept/run mods and that it was working without mods. If your game did not work without mods, then that is a whole other problem. If my assumption is not accurate, my apologies. Have you downloaded and properly installed FO4SE? Many mods / the vast majority I believe, of mods require that program. For setting up your game for modding, there are several sources. Grant it. some of them are older, but if you search enough, there are more recent guides, even on the Nexus you will find guides re: ini tweaks, etc. Check out this site which provides some useful info: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2242115007 You should also look into this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/67 (Bethini) This will help with setting up the ini files. Once you get your game going you can add further tweaks if you want to your ini files (the basic ini, the prefs.ini and custom.ini) depending on what you are trying to do. You can also check out this site https://stepmodifications.org/wiki/Guide:System_Setup_Guide And this: http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Fallout_4_Mod_Installation The site also includes some definitions of tweaks you can make to your ini files. When you are playing a modded game, the game should be launched through FO4SE, just copy a shortcut to your task bar or desktop. I do not run it through Vortex and you do not start it through Steam or the actual fallout4.exe file I would also refer you to https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/23556 Biraitbec guide. I am not suggesting that you follow the entire guide, but it includes a useful set-up guide to prepare the game for modding. Someone has updated the guide on the Nexus and I think you can get an invite to join the discord group that has the updated guide, and is working on an even more thorough guide (my only reservation with the guide is that they seem to hate Vortex whereas I have not had a problem using it and taking care of load order etc., but I did use the guide for texture optimizations, etc.) If I can do all of this, you should be able to do it as I had very little knowledge of modding when I started modding Skyrim SE and have learned from those mistakes over the years. Heck, when Vortex would ask me should "X mod" be before or after "Y mod", I would just guess, I was really clueless, I am surprised I was actually able to play the game. As I said before, I know this can be very frustrating, but with a little bit of knowledge and guidance, before you know it you will have Curie doing a three-way with a robot and a mutant hound if that is something you want to do (no judgment here) Good luck and if you have looked at/tried all the things I am recommending, I would then ask for some more help and if I see your post, I will do my best to see of I can help. Take care and (eventually) happy gaming because life is just too damn short to sweat some of the small stuff life throws our way.
  6. I agree. I also particularly love the set dressing category. When I add a water system, I use the pipes to run to my settlement (or into the ground to simulate that the pipes are going into the settlement. I use the rest of the set dressing to create basically a water station where the settlement can sell water to traders etc. With the mod Kraggles Structures (piers, ground), I basically create this wharf with machinery and areas to store water for selling. It was always bothered me that in the base game you set up a water purifier in a river or lake and then there is water all over the settlement, so this fixes that (wells and water pumps are the exception).
  7. Assuming you have modded your game, there is a conflict in your load order. There are a plethora of sources put there with suggested load orders and how to mod. Try this one https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2242115007 or https://themidnightride.github.io/index.html These have suggested mods and specific load orders You can also find "packages being distributed ( I forget the name now) of Mods that play well together). I also believe that Nexus will be introducing packages of mods that play well together. With respect to your specific issue, LarannKiar is correct, something is messing with the game cell. You need to learn how to use x-Edt. Good luck.

CWSS Redux v3 - Craftable Working Showers Sinks Baths Toilets Urinals Kitchens etc - CWSS Redux I have plenty more, some that increase how much you can build, crop management etc. These can be tricky. Some of the above have been removed by the Mod authors. Some are available on Discord or Bethesda there are a few mod authors that are looking at creating their own website to upload mods due to recent Nexus rule changes/enforcements. I have around 100 mods just for settlement building, another 15 or so to deal with settlers as well as attacks on settlements. To get a stable modded game takes patience and a long time. Add one mod at a time, play and see if you have problems. That is not 100% guaranteed because issues can build up over time the more mods you have, but I have had luck with the above-mods with very rare crashes while building (now I have jinxed myself dammit). Transfer Settlements is also cool in that once you have a stable and working settlement blueprint, you can use it over again in other playthroughs and share it with the community. I have several blueprints but I have not shared them yet as I need to test them thoroughly. You can see some of my work under pictures I have posted. Finally, learn xEdit and thoroughly read mod descriptions and posts. There is a lot of info in those posts that people miss that could save them a lot of head on keyboard banging. Good luck.
  9. As a preface, I have been playing modded games for a few thousand hours over several years and I hope in that time I have a grasp of modding. I have also used this mod for years with no problem, until now. When there is a storm the picture will bleed away, basically, when I turn my character things get foggy, unclear and the graphics have what appear to be long trails. When this happens, opening up my pip boy does not help as I cannot see the pip boy. Sometimes if I continue to turn, there is a brief moment when the picture clears up so I can change the weather. When I do, the graphics are normal again. I disabled this mod and I did not have any issues (in all fairness, as I type this, I realized that when I disabled this mod and restarted, the storm was not active so perhaps it was not a valid test). I have a stable load order (without the issues discussed herein) and I have installed a hand-full of new mods to that load order, of those, only three added any changes to textures. Given my experience, I addressed all the usual suspects of modding with no solution, including load order and the like. I disabled the three new mods those one at a time with this mod enabled and I was still seeing trails/blurred graphics. As an aside, this happened throughout Nuka World as well as the Commonwealth Red Rocket by Sanctuary and in Sanctuary. It only happens when I am in an outside cell. At this point, I am out of ideas as to how to address this. I am beginning to think that maybe my video card is going bad, but the thing is that it is fairly new and a decent card. If anyone has had this experience and has come up with a solution, please let me know. Thanks. I really do not want to stop using this mod as, in my opinion, I think this mod remains the best weather mod out there (I have tried them all).
  10. This mod https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/28588 Has some good ground alternatives as does Homemaker. You can import the blueprint and then fill in the empty spaces with dirt from one of the above mods. It should workout fine.
  11. There are many vids that discuss load order. Also the above-poster had good advice (though I believe you are using MO2not Vortex?) I can answer your query re: Kill Tips & Hit sound. That, I believe, is normal. Not sure why there is such a delay.
  12. About 3 months ago I was cleaning out my game directory (it was a mess) and I found the ll_fourplay.ini file. I had no idea what it was and thought it was a virus or something. I did my usual Google search and found out that it was created by AAF. I found a post that discussed how this number can be manipulated and benefit the game. I am not a programmer so my eyes pretty much glazed over the post. Mine has been set up as follows: [Custom Arrays] uMaxArraySize=2000 Should I change that and lower that number. I ask this in that whenever I create even a single settlement, my game performance decreases exponentially. With each settlement created, performance within settlements decrease and eventually that becomes a game wide issue. I do have a MOD that allows me to build more than the game cap allows for a settlement. I use to set it at 30, but realized that I really did not need that much and since I was having settlement problems, I do not go over 4 times. My question is two-fold, 1. should I reduce the uMaxArraySize? Because this ini is in there, is there anything else I need to do or is it automatically benefiting my settlement building? I did find this blog on the site that should not be mentioned: https://$%^&*00/topic/81889-devtestbeta-ll-fourplay-community-f4se-plugin-v40-2021-06-01/page/8/ Just replace the symbols with the name of the website. P.S. niston, I have seen your avatar before in several posts. Just love that actor.
  13. About a month ago, by hard drive crashed and I had to reinstall Windows. I did not want to place the game in the usual place Steam wants as I wanted the game on my root directory. What I neglected to do is disable and uninstall One drive (I really do not like using it). I downloaded all the requisite files and mods, etc. set them up, but when I set up F4SE it set up all my ini files into One Drive. How can I move the files from one drive to my game directory on the C drive and make sure my mod manager and game recognizes where my ini file are and where my save games are located (for the save games I believe I can edit my ini files to point to the correct directory). Thanks.
  14. If you do not have a mod manager (you should), you can copy all your save files to preserve your game and then re-download all of your mods. You just want to make sure that you get the load order correctly and set-up your script extender. If you are using a mod manager, there are instructions on how to do that. I would suggest that you install the game and all files on your root directory (C drive) to avid issues with your virus program. Check this out for Vortex https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/2974027084081954111/ As for MO2: https://stepmodifications.org/forum/topic/15480-how-safely-move-mo2-app-data-from-c-drive-to-f-mo2-installed-on-f-drive/
  15. I am glad you solved your issue. I have done all of that as well as undervolting my CPU and GPU. I am still having issues with severe stuttering, predominantly in settlement building where the game pauses for maybe 10 seconds, then my fps goes up to the 60s for a bit, rinse and repeat. The thing is, I have two different apps monitoring the temps and clock speeds and they are not at the point that they would throttle, so it makes no sense. I have even reduced the clock on my CPU to 3500 Mhz to prevent throttling. I am at a complete loss. Although misery loves company, I am glad that you at least have solved your problem. Happy gaming.
  16. Cool. I have used that console command on so many items. I can even save such changes with Transfer Settlements and it sticks. It is one of my favorite console commands when settlement building.
  17. It may be temperature issues with the video card. I know I have mentioned that but depending on your mods, they do put a lot of stress on the CPU and GPU. In your graph showing your lag, I experienced the exact same issues, my problem was over-heating. You may want to look into under-volting your CPU (there are plenty of YouTube videos explaning the process, I recommend Throttle stop). Although it sounds counter-productive, under-volting actually increases your CPU speed as it reduces heat. You can do the same with your GPU, though I have not yet learned how to do that efficiently. I have increased the speed of my CPU by 1,000 Mhz just be under-volting, a huge increase. I hope you figure it out as I understand how frustrating it can be.
  18. Glad you solved it. Eventually I want to get away from AWKCR, VIS-G and and DEF-Ui. There are many mod authors out there that have created better solutions. Fall UI and all of its companion mods are amazing and so lite. AWKCR is full of bloat. Eventually these will go the way of the dinosaur unless the mod authors update them and make them more efficient. If you are not running a lot of mods, you should be OK with those, but eventually, they will strain your system if you keep adding mods.
  19. Texture mods can be a killer, especially if they are in loose file format. You can combine them with other BSA texture mods through Cathedral Assets or a tool provided by the CK as BSA are much more efficient to load. I have done that with the game files that someone added their choices of textures and I added mine. It worked very well. You should try the High FPS mod. I finally figured out wh7y my game was lagging so much. I have an outdoor "man-cave" with a TV an evaporative cooler, etc., and I play outdoors as I smoke cigars while I play (I do not smoke inside my house). Irrespective of the number of fans I am running (4 under the laptop and the evap blowing on to my laptop) the temperature outside is very high (over 100 degrees and climbing now). At least I know that it is not a hardware problem per se. Companion mods can be problematic as they are heavily scripted I believe. The max I will run are three, Ivy from Lover's Lab (my all time favorite, I am waiting on version 6 to come out to play with her again) and a recent discovery, Darlene and Amazing Follower Tweaks (you cannot control Ivy or Darlene with AFT but I use it for the other companions to get their perks and then dump them). I like Heather Casdin and Ellen the Cartographer, but they have not been updated for years and after playing with them several times, the romance is over. Ivy and Darlene are actively being updated by two very good modders and I think they are the best companions for this game. I also have eliminated many of my weapon mods as I can only carry so many weapons with me. I use the BR77 as in latter stages it can be very powerful, which I need as I have mods that allow NPCs to gain experience with no limitations, coupled with mods that increase their intelligence and fighting (like taking cover or trying to surround be with cross fire, my combat game play is great, leaving only settlement mods (the vast majority of my mods), some visual mods and presets and of course Quest mods. I would easily go over 700 mods as there are so many out there, but with more mods, comes more exposure to instability. Keep working on your load order and eventually you will find a stable one. Good luck.
  20. Not sure how long you have been married, but, never, ever, give your wife such power. You might as well cut your balls off and give them tom her to wear as a necklace, and when you want to go out with the guys, you have to ask her permission to bring your balls along, and when she refuses, your pleading of "But the guys have theirs!" will go unheeded.
  21. I assume you are running some mods. I also assume that you do not mod games very often. If my assumptions are incorrect then the following may not be helpful. If you are running mods, there may be a mod conflict. Start a new vanilla game under a different character and save directory and see if you have the same problem. If you don't, then you know there is a mod conflict. At that point, you will need to add a mod or two at a time and see if they play nice. It can be a long process depending on how many mods you have and what the mods do. Hopefully you are using a mod manager. A good mod manager should alert you to a conflict, but don't always assume that it's recommendation for which installed mod goes after the other is infallible. You need to understand exactly what the mod you have added is intended to do. If mod B is meant to change the color of a workbench to pink and mod A makes the workbench clean and new and mod C is a framework for modders to add things to a workbench. You probably would want to order the mods as CAB unless the mod author ("MA") of each mod has different instructions. There are plenty of helpful tutorials on YouTube re: load order and the like. Google them. It would also help you get some answers if you posted your mod list so people can see your load order. Good luck. EDIT: I forgot to add that if you do find the culprit (the conflicting mod) depending on the mod, just uninstalling it may not solve your problem in your current game as some errors can be "baked" into your save. It is never a good idea to remove mods in the middle of a game, especially mods that are scripted. By changing load order, sometimes that will fix your problem. You need to check the MA page to see what he/she recommends with respect to removal of their mod mid-game.
  22. What happens when you forget where you kept it locked up or lose the key??
  23. Faithful poster. In your response you stated" "I'd suggest using Place Everywhere, it doesn't break precombines. You can't remove some objects, but you can move them around." It is my understanding from researching this issue that even moving an object around will break precombines. I agree that Jenncave's mods are amazing and have been using them for a long time. As for the downtown area, I just don't build there any longer because of the lag/fps issues. If I do, I just build on top of everything and do not delete anything. As for using Scrap Everything, yeah it will kill performance in that settlement cell but I accept that when I am settlement building. It should not impact the rest of the Commonwealth however. I do believe my stuttering issue is heat related so I need to look into that. I have under volted my CPU. The under volting of the CPU has dramatically dropped my temps for that and increased its performance but my lagging/stuttering throughout the Commonwealth remains. I cannot effectively under volt my GPU however.
  24. The hard drive may be the culprit if you are not seeing the proper read and write states. I assume that they are fairly new? I use SSDs so read and write is usually not my problem. It is heat that is killing my system for now. I saw the temps on your CPU and they are good. Mine are also good,\but what about the GPU? in any event, I hope switching to a different drive will fix your problem.
  25. I feel your pain Have you considered that maybe your GPU is throttling due to heat issues? I have been having lagging issues and I have pretty much tried everything that have been recommended, including Throttlestop to reduce voltage going to the CPU and MSI Afterburner to basically under-clock my GPU to reduce it from getting too hot. Throttlestop has helped with my CPU as it is working within specs and the temperature is great, but after I tried under-clocking my GPU, it actually ran hotter, which makes no difference unless there is an issue with the GPU itself. A slight overclock to the GPU gave me much better performance, but the throttling was still there due to heat issues, at least, that is what I believe is happening as I have tried all software related tweaks and none of them are working. My issue is primarily due to the fact that I use a laptop, it is not that old (less than 2 years old) but it may need some maintenance such as re-pasting the GPU with maybe liquid metal. I do not see issues with your mods (I am not an expert) but the fact that you are reporting stuttering and not constant CTDs tells me it may be hardware since you have stated that you have tried many of the performance mods. The error in your Buffout references your N-Vidia card. The MO suggests downgrading the driver to an older version, but I am not fully convinced the driver is the issue but merely a symptom of overheating. I have 2 fans and the laptop fans at max and my video card is still hitting in excess of 80C. Another possibility is having a large amount of texture files, such files can slow down the GPU. I have eliminated about 25 texture files, that did nothing. I reduced the graphics quality from good to low, nothing. These things however, may help you. Finally, some weather mods can have an impact on stability. I have found while in game my stuttering increases dramatically when there is a heavy rad storm. When I change it ti clear weather, the stuttering is substantially reduced or is non-existent. I wish there was a silver bullet I could point you to, if there is, I have not found one. I really enjoy this game as I find it relaxing but dropping down to 18 FPS and then jumping back up to 60 is simply intolerable. In monitoring the GPU, I see that it sometimes drops down to 300 mhz, WAY too low, and then jumps up to 1300mhz. Since it is a laptop, I cannot really upgrade the GPU with anything faster as the heat issue will continue to occur. I wish you the best of luck and will keep my eye open on this topic (if I can figure out how to get notifications). if I come up with any ideas. I will share those with you. You have a decent video card. I have the 2060 RTX mobile
