  1. Love the new background images. A small request. Can the "Comment Tracking" link be moved from where it's at now in the member area up to the drop down menu for your user name?
  2. Wasn't trying to be funny. I don't use the Bioware site at all and thought maybe you'd typoed something related to PES, or that there was some other mod site I wasn't aware of.
  3. IE Compatibility Mode was perhaps the worst idea in an endless sea of terrible ideas to come out of Microsoft.
  4. Spoiler text on the file comment pages is no longer hidden.
  5. It isn't just you, although those edit links don't actually work.
  6. You have no idea how true that is given today's culture :P
  7. More of Mozilla's "it's the same, but it's not" because you're on Linux? Firefox 6 user here, looks fine in Windows. Cache needs purging? Cookies? Tried it in safe mode?
  8. In other words, they won. Had Lindows not settled, it would have gone to court and dragged on for years.
  9. Trademark law is not that concrete. They could win, after all, Microsoft won against Lindows when the logo wasn't even close. I guarantee you this isn't about JUST the word alone.
  10. Comment tracker appears to be broken: http://www.tesnexus.com/members/comments.php I click on any of the links to any of the listed comments and nothing at all happens. No indication of a javascript error, no throbber indicating it's loading something, nothing. Dead stick. Trying to open the link in a new tab fails hard because it's just a javascript link to no actual page.
  11. Could very well be. People playing lawyer-ball don't usually bother to tell those of us watching from the stands what's going on.
  12. Looks good, the only thing I'd like is easier access to the "comment tracking" link. It's not real obvious that it's buried under the "member area" section.
  13. I can see a slight potential issue from the top of the Arena box art. I'd call it a stretch, but then we don't actually know what Zenimax is on about. Perhaps it has nothing to do with the mainstream titles and is instead related to the offshoots like Redguard, Battlespire, or the mobile games?
  14. I guarantee you that this is more than just a dispute over the word, despite what translations of the legal document say. Trademark is mainly all about brand, which is usually expressed in the form of logos AND titles. There may be something to the logo itself for the Scrolls game that Zenimax is taking issue with. The proper response from Mojang should have been a formal response to the letter informing them of the issue. Not for the company's CEO to childishly display it for all to see on the web in an effort to make Zenimax look bad. The natural end result of that is going to be exactly as expected - Zenimax will want to go to trial rather than negotiate in private. If he seriously thought it was a joke, then that says an awful lot about his ignorance of legal issues and that's a dangerous thing for any company.
  15. Fortunately, at least in the US, the 9th Circuit and it's 80 year old judges addressed this. Precedent would protect sites like this in the US from the liability. Obviously this has no meaning in the UK.
  16. Which, while epic to see, would be mainly done in fun because Bethesda isn't the one suing, and Notch isn't the one being sued. But why let facts get in the way of a good story, right? Makes about as much sense as it would to say something like "Bioware sued George Lucas" when in all likelihood such an event would really be "EA sued LucasArts".
  17. Any one of the new image maps looks fine to me, if there are differences in the colors, mine old eyes are too feeble to pick up on them. Just being rid of the bright orange is enough :) Also, the new logo looks much better overlayed on the landscape background.
  18. Off topic response, but, you do know that in some home owners associations you could be asked (and fully expected) to be the one to change colors to conform to the pack, right? On the actual topic: I'd simply change the OP's initial question to "What's up with all the armor mods being uploaded? Doesn't anyone do anything ELSE in this game?"
  19. Some friendly advice? End this habit soon. The sooner the better.
  20. Doesn't change much. Zenimax is still issuing the notice to Mojang, the "corporate" entity that actually owns the IP in question. I've seen this stupidly broken down as "Todd sued Notch" in plenty of places, or more commonly as "Bethesda sued Minecraft" - neither of which has any real meaning in legal circles because that's not even what happened. Any attacks launched on the basis of Bethesda doing anything are utterly ignorant, which isn't surprising, most members of Anonymous and LulzSec and whoever else fit that description. Nope, it's only safe if your computer isn't hooked up to the internet :P
  21. If it was because of the lawsuit, they attacked the wrong target. Bethesda isn't suing anyone. Right at the moment, neither is Zenimax since it hasn't gone to court anywhere yet. Also, it's not Notch they went after, it's the company he works for. So much misinformation being thrown around. So easily avoided too, just don't actin a knee-jerk fashion because someone sent you a legal notice. Keep it quiet, it gets resolved quietly. Make a bunch of noise, lawyers tend to get defensive and take it to trial. Also "hacked" isn't quite the operative term. Attacked by script kiddies fits better. Almost certainly the result of some cheap exploit in the forum software. Which should make more than just Bethesda nervous about now since it's not just them using the software. My guess - something to do with the avatars since those are still unavailable at BGS. As far as emails, check your spam folders. I know of at least one person so far who found their reset notice buried under a mountain of spam in their gmail account.
  22. Is the new site code going to support Gravatars the way the forum avatar system does?
  23. Yep. KeePass is an awesome little utility. I started using it after the last time Bethesda got hacked because I got tired of having to make the rounds everywhere to update my password when something went wrong.
  24. The Bethesda forum was hacked again this morning and the password DB reset. Anyone trying to get in will have to follow the password recovery process. Assuming it works and doesn't tell you your member ID doesn't exist.
