  1. I got a lot of boosted performance in my old HP by buying a $30 SSD and setting it up as the page drive for Windows. I also enabled readyboost. The main drive was a 1gig DeskStar I3 Intel 8 gigs of ram GTX 550 ti video card.
  2. It got to the point were FO4 wouldn't start. I tried a reinstall no luck. I totally stripped out the folders left behind by the uninstaller and totally uninstalled Vortex. The game started running again. I have been playing with no mods, never have used the console other than a TLC or two when I got stuck. I haven't increased build limits. I have activated work benches other then Sanctuary Hills but haven't built anything there. I got a CTD yesterday. I'm thinking it's a game engine bug or some hardware issue on my end. My PC can barely run it as is. I started doing two 24 hour sleeps in a row before quitting for the night. The game loads much faster now. Basically save, save, save when playing anything Bethesda puts out!
  3. This political divisiveness has always been here. Study the election of the second president of the United States if you have any doubt about this. The difference today is the speed and volume by which political statements can be delivered. If the rights of ether the left or right are eliminated this country will perish. Facebook and the other social media sites have made themselves into utilities, the same can be said for sites like Ebay and Amazon. It's time to start treating them as such.
  4. In my case against Hillary, but I saw a lot of people I knew that were apolitical energized by Trump.
  5. The people who put Trump in office were middle aged adults that had never voted in their lives or who had given up voting "because they all are crooks". Things are at a point were they realized ignoring politics was going to lead to the destruction of their standard of living. Also people that never will vote GOP sat out the presidential for the same reasons as the others that voted GOP for the first time or had returned. The fact that the GOP did a face plant during the midterms is proof that people voted for Trump instead of voting for the GOP.
  6. Trump isn't "going after immigration", he's going after illegal aliens, not immigrants. Immigrants are people who gain access to a country by following the country's immigration laws. Illegal aliens are aliens that have entered and remain in a county illegally. Its not possible for anybody to be an "illegal/undocumented immigrant", it's not possible to follow a law illegally. Illegal aliens are taking jobs...................Sorry that's also not possible, when people enter a county legally or illegally their presence expands the economy. It may not expand in a healthy way ( higher law enforcement costs, social services costs) but the economy and the need for manpower expands. Illegal aliens suppress wages for lower income workers. That's been true for years and is suppressing middle income wages as well. Immigration needs reform, yes anything requiring a lawyer is a broken process, Immigration turned a disaster during the Castle Rock period, worked well during the Ellis Island period then became inefficient after Ellis was shut down and it became decentralized. There's no room in America for more people.....................You have never driven coast to coast. Current immigrants are not assimilating and are destroying American culture...................... That's the exact thing that was said about the British by the Dutch, about the Italians, Germans and Irish in New York and the Chinese on the west coast and is still being said about Blacks and Jews. When I was a teen I had two friends whose Grandmothers only spoke Italian. One never left the farm she settled in except when she went to mass on Sundays. It's normal that older adults never pickup new languages, but instead to rely on younger family members to communicate. Immigrants were put on trains after Ellis Island to stop them from clustering and to force them to assimilate.........................No, immigrants were put on trains to keep them out the hands of con artists who shepherded them towards slum lords who were stuffing them twenty to a room, mugging them and some cases murdering them. Also they were sent to areas where manpower was needed and there was space to settle.
  7. I feel sure that it is known. Everyone is fairly sure of Pres. Trumps past. I tried and tried to think of a response to the posters words, when I became reminded of a story I read from a book I think is from the country the poster calls home. Yeah, whoever is the sacrificial lamb being sent in by the Dems will be facing the most vetted candidate in human history.
  8. Last night I re inquired the Collective Soul music I had lost a decade ago. I listened to it this morning and on the drive home because talk radio is a black hole during football season. Last week I listened to samples of the new Make War album and bought it. I tunes got some of my money the last few weeks. Speaking of I tunes does anybody know if they will keep selling music when they switch it over?
  9. Italy, Germany, Austria, England (never got off of plane), Canada, California. I lived on the road for nearly two decades. I sleep better in a vehicle then a house. Whether it's the major cities or the sticks I enjoy experiencing different areas and cultures.
  10. The problem isn't medication themselves, the problem is the state would rather things and actions be regulated by how they are being abused. Mainly because it's all about the state and anything or anyone that gets in it's way is an annoyance. And the general refusal to take responsibly.
  11. Really, this shunning of 'Brick and Mortar' shops is nothing new. In the 70's I mostly bought via mail order. Mainly because of no transportation, what I was buying wasn't available locally and what was, was always more expensive then mail order. More alternatives to Amazon are becoming available. Amazon's main monopoly is their cataloguing data base, everybody uses it.
  12. 1969 I was in Naples Italy. I'm not sure if we had our TV yet. I was seven. The earliest memory of Apollo was when we still were in Texas, watching one of the astronauts in the command module playing with a pen. Me and my Dad was watching the last mission during the final ascent from the moon. When the ascent module separated from the landing module and the gold foil was flying off my Dad thought it had exploded! Model rocketry started for me in 1976. It will be interesting to watch this since I have read Failure Is Not An Option by Gene Kranz.
  13. Sarah Brightman's cover of Savean composed by Lisa Gerrard.
  14. Psychiatrist: Why don't you take pain relievers? Me: because I think pain is used by the body as a regulator of sorts, and I don't think suppressing bodily functions is a good idea. Besides I add, my mother died after burning out her liver and kidneys taking the stuff. I have been in pain most of my life, my hands after the age of twelve and my legs in my later teens. Not to mention the tooth pain I went thru. I don't feel helpless against pain, it's just a constant in life.
  15. It seems that the longer you order on Amazon, the shipping time slows down more and more. I'm going to use Newegg for my PC build if the prices are the same. I found a laundry washing plunger on a website that sells cloth diapers for $8.00 USD less then Amazon including USPS two day shipping. So I should have it in four days instead of the ten + days Amazon takes. And no I'm not paying the Bezoid over a $100.00 a year to roll the shipping costs into the cost of the product calling it "free shipping".
