  1. Of course true Bretons are actually Celts, and should have Celtic names..
  2. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39255 Trade & Commerce
  3. "..it still stutters like it's loading every 10 feet or so.." That seems to be a fairly common problem unrelated to FPS issues or vid-card power (try doing a Google search), and all sorts of remedies have been proposed which work for some people but not others. When I had it (after updating the drivers!), removing the Radeon drivers & switching to Omega drivers fixed it -- others find that the stutter-remover does the trick instead. But do all the tweakguide stuff first by all means.
  4. "Well the Deus Ex community seems near dead mod wise...kind of like the Morrowind mod community. I mean sure a few mods still get released, but they are often minor mods." You might have missed The Nameless Mod, a huge total conversion for DeusEx that came out a year or so back. The website has a pretty active forum as well. DX1 ain't dead by a long chalk ;) http://thenamelessmod.com/
  5. Do you mean that insurance companies should actually be forbidden from offering health insurance? Do you also mean that the principle of caveat emptor should be the only quality controlling factor in matters of medicine and healthcare, so that someone, for example, whose kid needs heart surgery is in a similar position as regards who to consult as someone whose car needs fixing and hopes that the garage they've been recommended is as good as they say? Would you care to expand on your comment that the "NHS is a nightmare for anything serious"? My own experience has been otherwise (but that's just anecdotal, obviously).
  6. '(I should probably also add that in my personal philosophy there is no phrase more frightening than, "I'm from the Government, and I'm here to help.") ' The victims of Hurricane Katrina, or those caught up in the Japanese tsunami or the immediate aftermath of 9/11, might not have found those words so frightening though. Some situations are so big that only governments can effectively deal with them.
  7. Here in the UK we have the choice, which is fine. The vast majority of the people here use UHC, and are generally happy to. You don't have to opt for one or the other, and can dip into private options if (for example) you want to jump the queue for some reason. This will not affect your entitlement to free-at-the-point-of-demand UHC options. I'd say it's a good system.
  8. They actually appear to be Dutch.. Nuka-Cola Company Kieenweg 15 5991EK Baarlo Netherlands  I really want some, but the shipping cost to where I live is a bit OTT.
  9. That's made my day, post of the year. Anyway I've started my first mod, I intend to turn it into a JRPG. I think it's coming along nicely. http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/4624/sgnsz.jpg How can u even think of puting hello kitty & lolicon cr^p into a awsome cool game like Street Cleaning Simulator?? My cleaning Driver guy wd just take out his Dessert Eagle and take out those suckez with 1 headshot each LULZ!!!
  10. "But I can't make another save because the game crashes when I try to save. " Sorry, I missed that -- guess I need better glasses :o_O: Glad you fixed it, and good that you posted the fix, as all new info on this game's peculiarities are useful
  11. Sometimes the suicide trick works. Load your game, move away from the immediate area and make another save, then kill your character (use console TCL to fly to a height, then toggle TCL again and fall). The game will automatically reload the last save. This might fix it; no guarantees though.
  12. at Quetz & Jim. This is Excalibur, who make a whole range of oddball sims (there's a delivery truck sim as well). Clearly there's a market for those. The concept would make a good Fallout3 mod -- that world could do with a thorough cleanout.. It reminds me a bit of a learn-to-drive sim I bought a while back, which I got in order to get the hang of driving on the right in preparation for a trip to Portugal, except that that one was actually quite useful in that you got overtaking vehicles, pedestrians, plenty of urban streets and motorways, and the traffic rules were enforced.
  13. "A word like "nao" instead of "now" is another example. " But that would just confuse speakers of Portuguese  Seriously though, and regarding the OP, a great slab of text with no punctuation or paragraph breaks is unlikely to garner help with a problem. Save the phone-text habit for texting
  14. If your running the basic unmodded game then there shouldn't be any missing meshes, since they, along with textures, sounds etc, are contained in archive files and extracted by the game as required. If you're running a modded game then you need to list your mods (in their correct order) here, which would hopefully assist in finding the problem. Unfortunately nobody will be able to tell you where to download Oblivion files as that would be encouraging or assisting piracy
  15. That was down to a bunch of Norman barons who probably spoke French :P I'm also from England, and I'm proud of the fact that we invented America (so to speak..), notwithstanding the fact that it came about because of a bit of a misunderstanding about tax :D
  16. Might be worth asking for permission to use the original dialogue if you can trace the copyrights owners. It would be worth the effort, I think, and they can only say 'Ni!' It's a mod I'd download anyhow  EDIT: Quoted dialogue would be just as much a copyright issue  MORE: How about a companion that runs along behind you making galloping noises with a couple of coconut shells?
  17. Most likely the people who viewed either didn't know, or were looking for answers themselves. Since you fixed it yourself, why not contribute to the community here and tell how you did it?
  18. What he said. I can't get the buttons to work in Firefox, and the log-out button overlaps another one. Other than that I don't mind the rest of the layout/colours. :ohdear:
  19. This has come up in the past, but it might possibly be that Bethesda don't themselves have full distribution rights to the game assets. They might have been produced by sub-contracted artists, for example, under specific contractual agreements.
  20. "Claiming that any gamer would mistake notch's "scrolls" for bethesdas "the elder scrolls" is pretty much an insult to all of us. We arn't THAT stupid. " We mightn't be, but you've already shown an example of someone who thinks Skyrim is an offshoot of Oblivion..
  21. "...maybe there is some way to block it privately?" Use the Firefox browser with the Adblock plugin. That way you can block any image you don't like.
  22. Trademarks. They must be protected or else they be consumed by dragon fires, aka the courts. Heh. Might as well talk to the wall as regards trademark/copyright non-equivalence, and I'll bet that at some point before this thread dies, there'll be yet another version of, "This sucks! I'm gonna copyright [or 'copy-write'] the word 'The'...", etc. etc. If they'd just read the thread through first...all good fun though
  23. That guy should team up with the adoring fan..show him how to really irritate people..
  24. Thought that was brilliant -- thanks for posting.
  25. The Dead Sea Scrolls are public domain -- no problem there ;D
