  1. http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/460588-start-here/ Welcome to the nexus btw :)
  2. Hope you don't mind if I steal that one XD <----
  3. I was afraid of that. As others have said before it's a really useful and fun skill tree, but it's a real shame when 90% of the spent perks suddenly become pretty much useless. Hopefully someone will fix things like these when the toolset comes out. I wouldn't mind spending a few extra perk ponts to keep the spells useful, instead of having all perks already bought becoming useless.
  4. not all mods installs the same way, but most zips are supposed to be unrared into the data folder that is in the skyrim installation folder. So from your description you are putting it into the wrong map. If you still find it hard I reccommend that you use the nexus download manager. Doesn't get much easier than that.
  5. ok, THAT intro. I'm quite certain I saw a mod for that too the first days the game was out, but I'm afraid I can't find it now since I never used it myself.
  6. Next time, search for a mod of what you are looking for ;) http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=100
  7. hi, I'm currently playing an illusion mage/assassin, but have noticed that, even with the master spells (like "mayhem"), I'm having trouble to affect town guards (it says their level is too high). I do miss 2 perks that is meant to make these spells more effective, but I'm starting to wonder, do these spells later become useless even with all perks enabled?
  8. From what I understand, you wish to make a useful character out of this initial setup. In that case I would add in sneak, since you then, together with pickpocketing and alchemy can create posions and place them on unaware enemies, which will harm them with time. What comes after that depends. Are you planning to max out all the other perk trees before choosing any other perk in other trees, or what? EDIT: Forget the above, since you seem to be asking for skill trees that still will get you owned by everyone...
  9. Great, thanks and kudos to the op. Would be good if any moderator could pin this topic :)
  10. I actually havn't heard of "eye of killrog" before. Looks like I will have too google it after posting this :P Here are some more requests though, and THIS time I do base the ideas on my all time favorite game, BG2: Meteor rain: Call down raining meteors across a field of your choice. High damage if hit, but unless there are several enemies gathered in the area (or the enemy is big enough), the chance of it actually hurting something isn't very high. Only works outdoors. Dragon's breath: Summons a dragonskull from the groun. that will shoot a quite narrow but long stroke of fire that hurts all enemies straight in front of it. Even after the spell is over, the path right in front of you will be burning, giving fire damage to anyone trying to cross. Haste: Simple, makes you move a lot faster for 45 sec. Shapechange: Shapechange to random creature. 5% chance that it will be a dragon  (you knew the subject would come eventually) Other wishes that might be offtopic, but here goes: fixes so that enemies don't know where you are, even though you are invisible, once you have been seen once. Fixes so that your damage output in destruction spells scales with your skill in destruction (I think it doesn't in the vanilla game for some reason?)
  11. I would like a spell that makes a dublicate of yourself. Can either be used as a companion or sparring partner :P Another one would be a spell that creates a magical eye that you can control and fly around with while examining your surroundings for a limited time. Of course, during this time you shouldn't be able to move your own body :)
  12. I know that the max amount of perks is about 80, but most characters will only ever reach lv 50. And adding twice the amount of perks or similar when you level up seems a bit of an overkill. So, I would instead suggest that we get rare hidden tomes around the world randomly generated, that instead of increasing skills slightly, adds a perk point. I think that would also give some more incentive to random exploration.
  13. My guess is that the file you download got corrupted. Happens a few times to me too although it's very rare. Try to redownload the whole file. And if it, for some odd reason, still doesn't want to work, try another mod and see if that works for you (just for the information when looking where the error lies). Lycka till :teehee: On second thought, dazzerfong is most likely right. That "Åtkomst nekad*. (*Access denied)" indicates that the computer thinks that you don't have permission to edit anything in those folders.
  14. You do have an earlier save, right? If you don't you should really start configuring the game to allow autosaves. In worst case there are some console commands that will let you jump to the next quest log, though I havn't the time to search for the exact specific one for that scene right now...
  15. No big complaint here, just find it a bit odd that there is still no "skyrim nexus profile" to view once you check a members forum profile?
  16. As long as you do it yourself, and only for personal use there isn't any problem. Sorry if I came off as rude, I'm a bit tired right now. Back to your question though, I don't think you will be able to add it as a "new" armor to the game until the CS gets out. I think I read somewhere however that a beta script for import/export of the meshes had been released for 3ds max, so you might be able to make the oblivion legion armor replace a skyrim armor set once it's finalized. Unfortunately I can't find where I read about said script anymore, but hopefully someone else can. Otherwise, start a new topic in the "mod talk" section (the request topics gets buried quite quickly while the game is still new) asking specifically for any progress on script and tools that allows exporting from 3ds max or blender to files readable by the skyrim engine.
  17. Bethesda has specifically said that they don't allow porting even between their own games: I dunno about the mod you listed, but if it uses resources from morrowind it should be reported.

  19. I largely agree with you that there is a lack of choice and consequences in the quests, but I have to disagree about being able to be a master of everything in skyrim, since you have a very limited number of perks to use on one character. I would also like to add that in this game, unlike in oblivion, the dark brotherhood and the thieves guild doesn't really contradict eachother. Heck, in one of the missions they specifically tell you that you are allowed to kill a certqain person if needed. There are also a few thief guild members who mentions that they have done a few jobs for the dark brotherhood before. So, I think they have made a lot of improvements in this area compared to oblivion, even though I still wish there would be much more of this.
  20. I found conjuration really powerful as a mage, especially in dungeons. Just sneak, and then conjure a creature in corners. That way any enemies there will only see and attack the creature while you yourself is safely hidden. If the creature later dies you can just summon it and start another attack, as many times that it is necessary.
  21. Then doesn't this belong in the mod requests forum? Yes, if there would be a mod request forum? I just checked the index page, no mod request forum here. http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/forum/422-skyrim-mod-requests/
  22. Checked his credits and permission page for the mod, and looking at it he has been here not too long ago (at least since the announcement of skyrim): So anyone who wants to convert it to skyrim for public use must sadly be dissapointed. There is nothing keeping you from doing it yourself though, as long as it is for private use only (as in, you can do it, but you can't share it with others). Also, you might need the toolset released for this. I'm not too sure about those details since I'm currently only a modder for dragon age specifically.
  23. Did you ask the original creator for permission before posting the request?
  24. You are right now on the nexus forums. Most games have their own nexus download page to separate them. If it is mods for skyrim you are looking for, start by going to www.skyrimnexus.com You can also access that site and all the other nexus download centers by looking in the upper top corner of this forum that says "more". When you are on skyrimnexus, just browse for the mods you are looking for and choose "download with manager". Welcome to the nexus btw :)
  25. Actually, judging from others I have talked to in this forum, it doesn't work. Not for female khajits at least. This is likely due to the fact that there aren't any such npcs at all in the vanilla game, and as such voice files with the relevant dialogue and similar are missing. Assuming that someone does try to make them marriable, they would most likely need to find a new voice actor for khajiits. EDIT: Here is an earlier discussion in another thread: Does not work for Khajjit (my Khajjit thief is doomed to being single forever, I guess) and for the reason you guessed - lack of voice files, and moreover the lack of actual dialog links for Khajjit NPCs. With the construction set, fixing the dialog flags should be easy enough, but they'll probably end up silent movie style unless someone wants to actually do some voice acting/audio manipulation to back it up with something.
