I have actually had the same problem before while using chrome, and just switching to firefox helped me. Hope it works for you too.

the nexus mod manager is currently a mod manager for skyrim, oblivion, fallout 3, and new vegas. You just run nexus mod manager and choose which game you currently wish to mod from a list. So yes, there is a mod manager for skyrim.

I support this idea!

I'm certainly not against the idea, but you might want to give some suggestions for perks. The lack of ideas for perks was the reason they skipped it in the vanilla game. All I can think of is: 1)Perk that lowers the stamina consumed while running 2)perk that increases jump height even further 3)perk to increase moving speed 4) perk that increases the distance you can fall without getting hurt? 5)Maybe a perk to double-jump? 6)Might wish to move the "do not trigger pressure plates" perk from the sneak tree to here? 7) Perk that allows you to jump on water in the same way that you could in oblivion if your acrobatics was high enough Thats all I can think of. 8) Attacking in mid-air perk 9)A wall jump perk(?Possible?) 10)Perhaps a dash perk that comes with it's own animation, would allow for strafing which should have already been in the game IMO. Well, 10 is enough right? And I don't think with this the only perk with multiple levels would be jump height and fall damage reduction. Could it been done? I have seen someone make a werewolf skill tree, so I see no reason why it shouldnt be possible. Only thing that might be hard is to add in things like a double jump and similar things. Should still be possible, but a bit harder than the rest to implement from my limited knowledge on the area (I usually only work with armor mods and other smaller fixes). And yes, this should be enough perks. I only said that bethesda had problems to come up with enough perk ideas :P

Well clearly I was wrong about the water arrows then :whistling: . I have never seen other games use it before, so thanks for the enlightenment. So just ignore me folks, nothing to see here :ohdear: -

amycus replied to jaysus's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
There are loads of cases like that. One of the most obvious ones that I know of was from their "one week marathon" of mods showcase. I cant be the only one who thought of "thieves arsenal" for oblivion, when they showed off their water arrows, right? -
Mod Beginner - Very Confused
amycus replied to LittleWillow's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Troubleshooting
Is a video tutorial enough for "More hairstyles"? It shows you how to install mods with DAModder (in this case "more hairstyles") (not my vid, just remembered I had seen a vid like this before while looking for dragon age videos) Not all mods can be installed like this, but roughly 90% of all the mods on dragonagenexus should be possible to install by using the same method. -
Bethesda doesnt allow any porting between their own games, so that would sadly be illegal. The only games that you can port are those where the developers have given permission to do so. As for now those games are only, to different degrees: The witcher games. - CD project red has been generous enough to allow all their games resources from the witcher series to be ported to any other game. Dragon age series - Bioware allows their resources from any dragon age game to be ported to another in the same series. So you are free to port resources from DA2 to DA:O for example, but you are not allowed to port their resources to any "non"-dragonage game.

Are mods allowed to /not/ have screenshots available?
amycus replied to FlyingHigh10000000's topic in Site Support
Since the mod author as already explained, quite clearly too, that he doesnt wish to have any screenshots. Thats up to him, just like it is up to you whether you want to download or not when there arent any screenshots. Personally I would see any later submitted screenshot, against the mod authors wishes, as a spoiler, so no, I dont see a problem removing that. And as for your example: I dont see a problem with that either. Just dont download it at all if you are afraid to test it. -
How is the area to the northeast of that big mountain that lies between Whiterun and riften?

LE The CK and legal problems left and right

That is already how the situation looks like currently. Aside from mods stolen from nexus, there are also some ripped assassin creeds armor that I have reported several days ago and they are still there. I even gave links to it in the bethesda official forums to make them aware of it(http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1346843-mods-uploaded-to-the-workshop-without-permission/), but that hasnt changed anything so far. They are really, really slow at this, assuming that they are ever going to do anything about it  Maybe Its just I who is impatient, but I know of a few small russian sites that have stolen mods from me, but removed them faster than this after I sent them a complaint by using ggogle translator. If this is the current case and their staff doesn't start moderating there site better, Bethesda might actually start taking users work to be used in their future games. With the legal repercussions that can build up over time for not doing anything at all, Bethesda and steamworkshop can get into a lot of trouble if another software company finds their copywrited material active on their website. They would only need to look at the download traffic and the date when the file was uploaded to see they do nothing. lol I cant give any straight links since that would be against the rules, but just check the armor section of the workshop and you should find a few ripped assassins creed armors. Uploader openly states that bethesda and steam doesnt have any rules against uploading stuff without permission... Of course they have that in their Terms of Service, but if steam/bethesda doesnt act when people break those rules, it isnt worth much -

Problem with Arcadia, of Whiterun

I take it that a simple reload is out of the question? -
How about making a new island somewhere in the middle of the sea where you can put it? Otherwise, I think this was a map from gamebanshee that shows all the locations in skyrim. Try to find an empty spot :P http://cdn.gamerant.com/wp-content/uploads/Skyrim-Map-All-Locations.jpg How about putting it on the smaller landmass to the left of Morthal?

I'm pretty sure that there already are several. I think "tytanis - the ultimate mod" does this, as well as "spellcraft". -
Mod Beginner - Very Confused
amycus replied to LittleWillow's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Troubleshooting
 Um, Thandal, he did say that he read that page, but still didnt quite get it. For your specific questions: 1)What do they mean with "extract files"? - It means that you use software like winrar to "extract" a .zip or .rar file. For example: If you download a mod you might just get a file that is named "nameofdownloadedmod.zip". If you have winrar installed you can just double-click this .zip file to open it much like any folder. Then just select all the files that has been opened with winrar, and drag and drop it to the designated folder, and winrar will "extract" those files for you to that folder. 2) What mod manager should I use? -Whichever you want, they can all be used to install your mods. Though personally I think that "DAModder" is the easiest one. Just download it, and extract its content to an empty folder. The next time you want to install any mod, you just have to run the .exe of DAModder, and drag and drop your downloaded modfile straight to the DAModder window, and it will do the whole installation for you - with some exceptions for the more complicated mods, but DAModder usually tells you if it wasnt able to install a mod correctly. If we use "make console commands visible", as an easy example: Go to http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=1110#content Press the green "download" button, and then press "Angel_console_fix_fonts_er" to download. What you get is a .zip file, and you can now choose to either install it manually by just extracting the content and (by following the readme of the mod): Or, you can just start up DAModder, and drag and drop the .zip file straight to the DAModder window, and it should install it for you. Remember, not all mods install exactly the same way, so remember to always read the readme for each mod -
I have it too, and have just ignored it so far. Since its something that has been added to everyones game apparently, you should probably leave it alone.

Steam Community Modding System is Terrible.
amycus replied to phenderix's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
No, but really - how long time did they need to both realize the need of a search function, and actually implement it? Considering that steam is supposed to be the one with deeper pockets, that seems a bit... lazy. Judging by the above, how long time do you think they need before adding support for script extenders and changing load orders? if ever? I don't think that the workshop will ever close down or anything like that, but at this point I prefer NMM without question. The only thing the workshop does better is having an easy to access "more from this author", and autoupdates. But the NMM still tells you when you need to update, and there is an "more from this author" button here as well, though I wish it could be put into the mod pages as well and not only on the profile. -

I made a post on bethesdas forum earlier today on a few I had found, as well as complaining about some things with the workshop actually. You can read it here: http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1346843-mods-uploaded-to-the-workshop-without-permission/ Looks like it got locked in order to not incite any flaming, but hopefully they will at least take some of my suggestions to heart as well. -

I agree, I dont like the workshop either. There might me some positive things with it like the autoupdate, but the cons far outweigh the pros. Especially so for mod authors. Here are just some things I miss with the workshop: 1) change load order 2) allow you to say why you want to report a file, when you hit that little report button. 3)Let the uploader fill in a form for permission of usage (like here in thenexus, where you can fill in your own permissions page with what others can or cant do with their assets in the mod) 4)Ability to upload other files that finished mods, like "Modders resources", or similar. 5) an extra reminder before one hits that upload button, that you cant upload things you havnt made yourself or dont have permission for (right now it can only be found hidden somewhere in the Terms of Usage document. -
I have noticed that there has been a few uploads on SW that doesnt have the permission from the original author (some dont even offer proper credit), so my tip for you others is to check it out if you have become victim to this, and in that case report it. Of course, steams "report" button doesnt let you say why you want to report it, so it might take a while to get them to act if at all (i doubt that they always check the other mother sites to see if it was ripped from there just because someone hit the report button...). Thats why I fought we would help eachother out by linking to any such mod here, and then we all can hit the report button. Hopefully steam's staff will react if there are hundreds of people reporting the same mod and look into it a bit closer. Here is one example of such a case. From Hucifer in the topic "steamworks downloads" Yeah, the Report functionality on Steam is so vague as to be useless. I've raised a ticket with Steam support so I guess I'll just have to wait for them to get round to looking into it. On a lighter note, I just successfully talked one of the guys into taking my mod down and he's agreed to remove it. Thankfully this was the the more important of the two (for me at least), so I feel enraged than I did earlier. Of course, this joker hasn't replied to any of my messages yet (despite being online all day) ,so if you guys want to head over to Steam and dispense some Report Flag justice, I would be very grateful :) EDIT: And yes, I know that my mod uses armor models ported from The Witcher 2, but these are legal according to the Witcher devs, in case you didn't know. They gave permission and everything (what a concept!)
