Did you try to use TUTO? (assuming that you have BG2). The resolution for the unmodded BG1 is indeed horrible by todays standards, but the graphics in BG2 is managable imo.

um, the reference pictures are very good, but you cant make the textures before the mesh itself. You sure you dont mean textures AND mesh for the helmet? -

I'm not sure if I was included among the ones who "acted rudely", but I apologize if thats case since that wasnt really my intention. Its just a bit funny that so many people seem to never have noticed the existance of the "advanced search" even though it isnt really hidden away (I have used it frequently even before the site redesign)... or thats what we thought at least. As has already been stated though, you havnt been the first among users who have managed to miss it, so it might still be needed to add an extra link right beside the "simple/common" search. I also completely agree with point 3. I dont have the adult filter on normally, but being able to sort out them from some searches when I'm looking for something specific would be welcome. For your first point however, you actually dont have to put any search words or anything in the advanced search tab. Just go to advanced search, and hit the submit button without making any changes. And then you can sort by downloads. Of course it can still be discussed if there shouldnt be a "top 100 downloaded list" for easier access, but the function is at least already there, if you want to use it in the meantime. -

Hi all. I'm actually a mod author myself that have (a little) experience of making armor mods, and I often spend my freetime just searching for good concept art. Problem is, there are so many good concepts out there, but since I already have several projects I'm working on (plus that I'm not sure if I currently have the skill to do all of them), I though I would post some concepts that I like here. Hopefully some other mod author with more time (and ability :tongue: ) , and who is currently seeking inspiration can shorten my to-do list... I was under the impression that the search function in the workshop was close to worthless, and even people on steams own forums seems to think so as well. I have never found what I'm looking for in the search bar, not even my own mod :P And the fact that anyone can decide what tags they want on their uploaded mods means that people just tick all of the tags on. So if you look in the "magic" section you are likely to find armors and swords there as well. That doesnt mean that nexus cant be improved on though, and some of the ideas you listed did indeed sound interesting. EDIT: One idea I have myself: In the advanced search, you can only search one category at a time. I think it would be an improvement if a "tick-box"system was implemented, similar to the workshop. Only with the difference that if you click the box twice, the green symbol changes to a red cross, indicating that the search engine will exclude all the search results from that category. Example: I might remember I have used an armor mod before, but cant remember the name of it. I do remember though that there was never any weapons included, and can as such decrease the number of hits to search through manually significantly by simply clicking to include all mods in the armor category, but exclude all mods that add weapons as well. -
I check the Location(s) and it wasn't there, so that's why I'm asking.. According to the description, installing it with DAModder should work. Make sure that the mod is listed in DAModder AND also check the downloaded content tab in the in-game menu to make sure it is ticked. Otherwise - did you extract the rar before putting it in DAModder? I'm not sure if it should be necessary since DAModder usually handles that without problem, but since the description directly states this step, you better follow it anyways if you havnt already (uninstall any previous installation of the mod before attempting this just in case)

hm, this was actually the first time I've heard of this, so thanks for the link. Though some corrections to the op: *This isnt a project that bethesda is working on, but a modder group as far as I can see. *Its not using skyrims engine from what I've read and seen on youtube videos. Its the same old morrowind engine, but with a large collection of user made mods to improve graphics (which is good, because if they had simply ported over everything to the skyrim engine, Bethesda would likely not have stayed quiet since they dont allow that. So as far as I can see, it should be completely legal as long as they really have permission from all the original mod authors) I do agree with you that especially the quest log needs to be updated a bit. But hopefully this project will breath new life into the morrowind modding, and let such a mod be created if it doesnt already exist somewhere.

I was under the impression that method was only used when making fur/hair, since it doesnt give the impression of "thickness" otherwise... though I still dont know what kind of meshes they are making.

I'm mainly a modder for Dragon age, and as such dont know too much about nifscope, but I still seriously doubt that there is a way to make the textures double-sided. so its better to just live with the one sided and make the object less complex? i guess it doesnt really matter unless you somehow zoom in witch you wouldnt do unless you were looking I'm not sure what you mean, but the general rule of thumb is to only let the mesh make up the silhouette of whateveryouaremaking, delete any polygons that will normally be hidden anyways. Add any extra, smaller details through normal maps (and displacement maps, but I'm not sure if the skyrim engine supports those?) You can post pics of your creations here if you want more advice. And if you do, remember that it will be easier to help you with the polycount if you have the wireframe visible (in 3ds max, right-click the upper left corner and choose "edged faces".)

But np, I got this, some people are just gonna hate new people, and I'm new! So I'll just shut my mouth and stay on the background. I second this! I personally dont care whether one has to use torches or magelight, but please make them dark.

Thats how meshes work. What you need to do is to add an extra set of polygons on the other side. If you are using 3ds max, use the drop-down bar to your right and choose "shell". Then you can adjust the thickness. If you dont do this, the mesh will be invisible seen from "the backside" of the polygons. Still, you usually want to keep the polycount down as much as possible, so if you make a helmet for example: Make the mesh as usual, with just one layer of polygons. Apply "shell" and collapse. Then select the polygons that you wont normally see ingame anyway, like those that will be covered by the players head, and delete. Another example is the inside of a long skirt. If the camera in-game wont be able to look up the skirt anyway, there is no need to add an extra set of polygons there.

I uninstalled 3ds Max a few days ago after i got frustrated. It occurred to me that maybe one of you guys could do something with it yesterday. I'd hate to have to install again just to take screenshots. It honestly isn't that bad of a design and I'm sure anybody who has downloaded and checked it out can vouch for me. ok, in that case I understand. I'm not a modder for any TES game, but otherwise know a little bit of making armor and weapons, so I can take a look as well. While I'm at it I might as well make a pic of it for you, and reupload your file as an .obj here (.max files cant be read by other 3d softwares like blender, while .obj files are pretty much universal). I just suggested to post a pic because not everyone is willing to wait 60 min for a mesh they havnt seen (thats at least how long time it seems like it will take for me...)

Have you properly duel mercer without using any console? Seriously this is the most buggiest quest I've seen so far in skyrim also how did you escape properly? Have you waited for the water to rise up and go to the hole? Sometimes Karliah and Bryn (whatever his name) doesn't jump so the water would not rise up? I'm not sure what you mean by "properly duel" mercer, but I never died as an archer against him. He is a bit annoying with running away invisible all the time, but if you stand behind the big statue there are only 2 paths he can take to attack you, and you still see him as a "blur" when he uses his invisibility spell and can therefore attack him long before he reaches you. I dont remember what lv I was though, only that the thieves guild questline was the first one I persued and finished (I did "grind" my sneaking level quite a bit however). Never had problem with the water either. It starts to rise, and then the stue's head breaks off and reveals a hidden path you can escape to. I did have a big bug once where the questgiver refused to open up his door even though the dialogue suggested that he would open it. That problem has been fixed for a long time now though.

I have never had any trouble with that quest, of course, I always just jump to the right when I first enter the room with the automaton and sneak past all the enemies there. Never had to fight the automaton that way.

Is there any good reason why the Dunmer in general would hate the Thalmor? As in politically not just because they're a bunch of arrogant chodes. I'm not too versed in TES lore, but aren't the Thalmor elf supremacists who aspire to ethnically cleanse mankind from Tamriel? Wouldn't the Dunmer therefore be supportive of them? Or are the Thalmor only interested in high elves? Last question how do Morrowind natives feel about Skyrim and the Nords? Thanks for the advice. I dunno about morrowind natives view of nords, but the thalmor consists of an allience between high elves, and wood elves, not dark elves. So considering that the dark elves were "excluded from the club", my guess is that they still dont like eachother very much. -

Either because he just hates the thalmor, or dont like the ban on talos worship, or simply the most obvious one: "the opposing side tried to cut my head off for no reason at all". Not a great way to make friends, after all. Otherwise you can do it because you support Ulfric in general, and belive you can change the stormcloak's mind about "other races" by proving yourself. -

Because quest mods happen to take more time, and the ck hasnt been out that long. I wouldnt expect any larger quest mods until another month or two.
