  1. How do I install the Riot23 HDR textures mod? I downloaded the 5 RARs and unrared them to Documents & Settings/DA.... lallala/override and nothing seems to happen? In my opinion it would be nice to post installation instructions if you upload a mod.

please contact the Author of the Mod you have trouble with, or ask in a seperate Thread, i am sure someone will know or can help you.

Sorry for the late answer, i am not very active here at the moment.

  2. There are console commands to add characters to the game, but those also can break your game, i wouldnt try that if i wouldnt be VERY desperate or atleast have a secure savegame stored at a secure location that i could reload with a fresh install if everything is messed up.

I also havent seen a mod jet that corrected that, not sure if its possible, it would involve alot of dialouge fixes i guess.

  3. WOW over an hour with allmost all mods and admins in the forum and over 20 views on the topic and no response or action taken...

Now i want to know the stance of the Forum & Website owner in regard to Nazi/Neonazi Topics/Symbols/Discussions please.

If this Stuff is tolerated here then i shall find another place to post because i wont bother spending my time with pepole that tolerate that crap.

  4. You could read my guide about how to add mods to your Dragon Age game, the link is in my signature, maybe it helps you.

could you link the mod you tried to install with DAModder and had problems with?

What version of DAModder have you tried to use and got that problem with?

I would like to track that problem down.

  5. Well if the OP is talking about Oblivion instead of Dragon Age then this thread is in the wrong forum, if he is talking about Dragon Age then most advice referencing oblivion wont help him.

In the Vanilla Dragon Age game all eyes have different colors and arent black, so there must be some issue with your main game installation.

  6. The user AlmightyKFC has a picture of Hitler as his Avatar:

I wonder if that is allowed or tollerated at this forums?

I find it disgusting and highliy inappropriate and would welcome the removal of said avatar (and user if necessary)

  7. Thats strange, i would have thought that all hair is usable by any race, but then i know nothing about modding sadly =)

Maybe you could get other hair models to your head if you import them somehow from other models?

Thats just a blind guess tough.

sorry if thats not really helpfull =)

How to make a Mod compatible with DAModder

DAModder is designed to be as flexible as possible, but the most benefits come from using DAModder Compatible packages. This not only makes the installation easier, it allows you to take advantage of future features planned for DAModder such as the ability to configure compatible mods inside of DAModder. If your mod is not currently in a DAModder Compatible Package, i encourage you to make one. DAModder Compatible packages still work fine outside of DAModder so its the best of both worlds for the author and its much more user friendly for the the Mod-User.

There are two types of mods in general. Standard mods and Core Override mods:

    - Standard Mods are those that are released in a .DAZIP file and can be installed with DAUpdater.

    - Core Override Mods are mods that aren't technically a "module" by the game's standard, but instead simply drop files into the players "Core Override" directory to change the behavior of the game.

If your mod is a standard mod, that is currently installed by DAUpdater, then chances are pretty good its already compatible with DAModder. If you are just distributing the .DAZIP file, or you are ziping it up along with a Readme file, it will work fine with DAModder. The user can simply drag and drop the .DAZIP file or the .ZIP file into the application, and hit install. No problem. About the only way a standard mod would be incompatible right now is if you're doing something like zipping it up, but hiding the DAZIP in a subfolder.

Core Override mods are alittle more comlicated. By definition these are not "modules" by the game's standards, and as such there is no module data for DAModder to parse. In other words, DAModder has ZERO information on the mod. The instructions in the sample package below show some small changes you can make to how its packaged so DAModder can essentially be "told" the mod's details. This will make the end user experience for your mods much better, as users will be able to see details like Mod Name, author, version, URL, description, etc.

You can get the sample packages here: Sample mod packages for DAModder compatibility download

On this FAQ Site you can find the latest information on how to Create a DAModder Package for a Core Override mod.

On this FAQ Site you can find information on how to use DAMarkdown to make your Descriptions and Readmes better readable in DAModder.

If you have questions about how to make your Mod DAModder compatible, ask at the Support Page or here =)

  9. Actually i tried out the HDtexures, and it really comes down to personal preference, many may like it,

like the comments and downloads show, but for myself i dont really like them, they are too sharp for my taste.

    To each one their own.

  10. Yeah its just a cutscene, you cant do anything with it.

the reason is entertainment and it is a funny reference to another popular thing.

many more references can be found throughout the game if you keep your eyes open
