  1. This is awesome!!! I wish him well, he deserves it a thousand times over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Yeah i want to talk to raiders, i want the to have brain, i want them to attack me at times but at some places not. I want them to be unpredictable, someone you need be careful about when spotting them, instead of knowning that sure will attack you. Not knowing what to expect would make them even more dangerous (so in effect there would be diverse raider NPC ID's applied to the same graphics).
  3. I wonder, if the first sentences of the following dialogue are really directed at the playercharacter or if Daddy has found himself a substitute for mum (see full text in original post(t: DAD: * Hmmmm... Good? Huh, is that good? Here you go... No... Not too fast. That's it. That's it." Haha :woot:
  4. It means "rnakedness interest-regression syndrome". It's a very uncommon affliction so it's no wonder you nerver heard of it
  5. Also has this not always been integrated into FWE and therefore needs to be inactive? Brahmin Dairy Products.esp * This mod does not exist in the current template Olaf
  6. Hi there, i make this a quick, not to thorough reply. Below i will post you my FWE_411 Loadorder but it includes all FWE 5_02 too (INACTIVE). The messup i can make out at quick glance is your loadorder of project beauty files! Also it's hard to figure out, which ones nedd to be activated in FWE 5_02 so my advise would be to try deactivating it completely and check if you still got problems, then figure out which ones you need: PLEASE NOTE FOR BELOW LOAD ORDER, - "female enclave soldiers" is now part of FWE 5_02 and needs not be activated - "delay" esp's will need to get loaded AFTER FWE. - KH (Kais) Fixes need to be deactivated. The site was taken down when FWE 5 came out so my guess, they are no longer needed. 7. Perhaps I can put my finger on it: Oblivion is a carved-in-stone society, very ordered, very structured, very boring. Fallout 3 freedom, at least until you must affiliate yourself with the BOS (the feel is going downhill from then on). The raiders may have the same function as the bandits and marauders but still each place i meet them they don't seem to me as yet another bunch of those guys. Somehow the settings they are put in, breathes some individuality into them, at least most of the time. In Oblivion all in all everybody is getting along. In Fallout there is friction, right from the start, beginning with the Overseer. In Oblivion the mainquest is forced upon you by fate.In Fallout, i can convince myself, it is very close to my heart, because of Dad. There is an emotional attachment behind doing the mainquest. I could go on, but i am a bit tired at the hour :) If Bethesda hasn't coceptualized Vegas as the starting point for a later Fallout 4 installment, i believe very much in compatabilty with Fallout 3. Anything else would mean that with Vegas they create a dead-end spin-off. Beeing to different from Fallout 3, it would put Fallout 3 to it's and i doubt they want to do that either. They will want to be open to all sides and that means having Fallout 3 (and actually Oblivion) as a common basis. They will want Fallout 4 to be easily made. And the best way of assuring that right now is to stick to whats given.
  8. Well, i must give in, this was a balanced view about things, especially with Fallout3. Other than with the Elder Scrolls Series, they sure were less certain that it would be a success. It has been though and it seems likely that they now believe it's prequels will be too. Perhaps the move with Obsidian is allready a sign of that they are willing to improve. I believe this step to be mainly out of resources, because they want to concentrate on Elder Scrolls - but still: It is a sign they believe in Fallout and they did not just choose anybody, they chose Quality People (no matter how bad the Vegas Teaser Video is). We will be smarter, when the next Elder Scrolls will have given us, what some people demand here. And also lets hope, the not to recent failure of Gothic 3, which just killed all the series stood for for the benefit of better graphics is a reminder not only for them but also to other publishers. Stray from your strengths and your other accomplishments will mean nothing (as a selling point). Now it can be argued, Bethesdas strenght are good (worldspace) graphics. Just let us remind them, it's good storytelling too (Morrowind).
  9. It's impossible is how microsoft never got started, it's impossible is how google forever stayed in private garage, it's impossible is how we never set foot on the moon, it's impossible is how we walk the line of underachievement always having an excuse for it. Me, i don't achieve much, but it's not because it's impossible. I am lazy and I like it that way. Of course I don't care about those things. I'm just a customer who wants to have fun with the game. I don't think about the limitations of the engine, how much money they earned from Fallout3 sales, or anything like that. It's up to the game makers to fix the engine using some of the money they earned from selling the game. I just want some basic things that I got from many games that were made before. There is nothing impossible about things I'd like to see. If there weren't people like me, Quake would have been a bad copy of Doom running on the same engine. I don't understand why people keep saying things like "It's not possible to have normal hair in this game!!!", "It's not possible to have proper conversations in this game", "It's not possible to have a better animation system in this game, all you should get is the running forward animation" how can people be this easily satisfied? Do these things seem impossible to you? Do you think the engine can not be improved any further?
  10. As allways, my seemingly very much unrelated hint: Do you have created the fake live DLL in Fomm? Definitely. I spent some time today making sure I had the most up to date version of directx needed.
  11. "Lying is the solution to your problems." Now i think a book with that title would be quiet the seller :P I hit her with my silenced 10mm once, then Lucy pulled out her rocket launcher  Sneaky, not so much, but quite effective nonetheless i just said i would like to help, got if from her, then sided with Zimmer. Lying is the solution to your problems.
  12. Hi there, I didn't even realize that you suck, but now that you mention it ... Just joking!!!!!
  13. You write: "Truly good plot and dialogue isn't seen as immportant by the mainstream game publishers, and the indie guys know that it is too large of a task for them to take on without totaly bankrupting their studio and themselves in the process." First about Fallout and other Dialogue All in all, i do not find Fallout 3's dialogue that bad. I just would like to talk more and about different topics but what has been done i am almost satisfied with. Moira Brown (Karen Carbone) was a superb job, considering above limitations. I remember some very bad, bad dialogue from Neverwinternights. A female shopowner commented about how PC was looking at her breast and that she knows how attractive she where. All characters not evil seemed very goofy to me and i just could'nt stand it anymore so i discontinued playing. They probably thought they made funny characters but all they did was annoy me. In Fallout there is no one annoying (who isn't supposed to). Second, how many resources does good dialogue really afford? I am a learned screenwriter. Hollywood and NY are swarming with great screenwriters who would jump at the oportunity writing good dialogue for games, even if it meant very, very little income. It is the change of scenery (so to say :) that attracts them most. So a game company can snatch itself a newbie who's nonetheless great at his job and pay him less than his usual staffwriter. Television is doing it all the time and they love doing it, when their staff writers are on strike. Voice actors aren't that much expensive either. So all in all, creating more and better dialogue should be no issue. That good dialogue isn't a seller would only be true if you look at a published product idependently. However a game enjoyed better because of good dialogue also refelcts upon a publisher as a whole and therefore enhances the customers Lifetime Value (look that up) in regards of other and later products. The problem to me, it seems, is a flawed production process. If time is money and writing good dialogue takes it's time, you must give it a proper place in the production chain. The question would be when to enhance dialogue in that chain and when to finally invite voice actors to voiceover the dialogue. Also contracts could be made, that allow the editing of voice acts down to a single word into new sentences, if that editing would be cheaper than letting them act it again. I've done that myself with pretty natural results.
  14. You know, this argument just opened the road for a new quest mod, where you have to recruit kids for Little Lamplight (e.g. Maggie in Megaton, an new home for Brian Wilks convincing him Mrs. Weatherly suck (oh, i am already sorry for her) and that other kid of Rivet City who doesn't like his mother anyway (so Rivet City security will give you a hard time sneaking away with him) etc. Someone willing to mod that? Problem is, they grow out of it before they figure much out. ;) That makes sense, hahaha ... actually they go to big town to live (and die) What rises another question: how does Lamplight replenish it's children stock? (not a mention about children being recruited elsewhere for it)
  15. "Damnation Alley" - 20th Century Fox - 1977  "A small group of survivors at a installation who survived In the aftermath of a nuclear holocaust attempt to travel across the desolate wasteland to wherefrom a radio broadcast has been received. Along the way, they are joined by an attractive young woman when they stop in Las Vegas, are joined by a young boy when they meet desperate survivors in the desert, must face hoards of killer cockroaches and survive a major flood." LOL :teehee:
  16. You're aware with the concept of diegetics? It comes from film theory and means as much as "inside the movie". E.g. you can put music into a picture diegetically, meaning it is coming from a radio or someone playing a guitar (instead of being just layed over the pictures as not coming from anywhere). I find this concept very, very beautiful. Try thinking of your ant diagetically, within the logic of the gameworld: - Is your Houseservant Robot playing tricks on you? - When you came home, did you happen to have always been on chems? - Are the battles you fought still haunting you, so you can't relax and your mind creates an image that reminds your enemy? - Did your father, when you where a kid, force you to kill Radroach and do you perhaps still feel guilty about it, so you punish yourself with the illusion of an giant insect in your house now? - When was the last time you paid Brian Wilks a visit? -----
  17. Other than e.g. BOSS I - All mods that add new Perks i put before overhaul mods. Some change Vanilla perks too, just as the overhaul (eg. FEW) does, but of course it's the overhaul i am aiming add. This way i only get the effects of NEW perks added by the Perk mod. - I keep all mods that simply add locations and items BEFORE my overhaul mods. The overhaul covers so many things that it might overwrite possible glitches or accidental changes the little mods do. - I keep items mods that add items to vendors only seperate. Next come item mods that actually make NPCs use those items. - I order mods that change Locations from North to South. All my Megaton mods are neatly together for instance. Mods that add ITEMS to a specific place belong into this category too. This sorting helps in FOMM, to instantly see which mods my be in conflict which each other. Regrouping of the mods to e.g. get rid of a conflict is much easier this way. You can also better decide which mods to activate and which not. - Mods that make changes beyond the overhal mods i put below the overhaul mods. Short answer: It depends entirely on the mods in question, which is why there isn't a general "Here is the correct load order" thread. Long answer: -Generally, anything that adds brand new content doesn't matter where it goes in the load order. Exceptions are when that new content is added to pre-existing vendors or containers, in which case: -Generally, anything that modifies existing content will conflict with other mods that modify the same content - so whichever one you want to use has to be later in the load order. -Generally, "Total overhaul" mods need to be earlier in the load order, since otherwise they're override pretty much every other mod you're using. -There are always going to be exceptions to the above rules, since there are about a dozen different ways to modify the same content in FO3, and each way will cause mods to interact in different ways. FO3Edit is a great tool if you really want to understand how load order works. Its entire purpose is basically to highlight mod conflicts and tell you which mods win the conflict based on your load order.
  18. Hi folks, just a few secs ago got this idea and i want to post it: THE GRAPHICS I would like to see a special duck/crouching animation where the Character protectively covers his head with his hands. The fingers should not touch or fold and the arms should cover the ears. REASON My primary concern is protecting yourself from explosions, especially the ones you just set yourself with frags and getting away fast enough suddenly reveals itself to be impossible. (thats what triggered the idea) but it could be more global too. I gahter, this would need a special key binding. EFFECT Ducking gives you a Bonus to Damage Resistance or raises your Luck. It should use up action points while your in it. Automatic 3rd person view seems to me the best implementation. Perhaps smart enough NPCs are able to cover themselves too. POSSIBLE SOURCE THAT COULD BE TWEAKED I sometime see Enemies covering themselves in my game. They will only start figting again, when i get to close. I think this comes from FWE or MMM. PLEASE LEAVE COMMENTS :) olaf PS: AND COULD SOMEONE PLEASE MAKE FIRE EXTINGUISHERS INTO WEAPONS. VANILLA FALLOUT HAS ENVIRONMENTAL DUST SWIRLS SO THAT COULD BE A BASIS
  19. I get from your dialogue that you did NOT try the suggested fix. Do.
  20. With me it's language, written, spoken, conversations i am in - you name it. Someone says "river" and i hear "Rvet".
  21. Make a save inside Rivet City (you probably have already). Now load a save outside of Rivet City (if you don't have one, go back to an older save game where you are close to Rivet City (and make a save outside). Now reload your savegame inside Rivet City. Step outside, it should be fine. Rivet City Outsides got not loaded correctly when exited to it. By walking to the Outside, it gets loaded, no matter what. So, when you step outside, the Outside is still in the memory buffer. This also helps in the Pipe at the Memorial closeby, you will now what i mean, once you had the problem. I am guessing that pkleiss is correct on this, I had this problem a little while a go and those are the only mods that we both had running. Wish I had know that then.
  22. Have you ever started Fallout Launcher (eg. from the DVD) so Fallout will actually detect your hardware and automatically create your ini?
  23. Start your Fallout Launcher and turn off V-Sync. Even if that is not the issue, i will make the game much more smoother for you, once you found a solution for your problem.
  24. Also use the 3GB Enabler (search for Enabler) on Nexus. Even with less than three Gigs Fallout will run more reliable. Yes - it crashes when the radio is off and when it's on. I'll download that and see if that'll help. Edit: No, it did not helped :\
