I do have an understanding of how permissions work and I'm fully aware of the fact that permissions are required and that modders have RL. You give a very good and detailed answer, but I'm left with the impression that you're talking down to me as if I'm stupid, I don't appreciate that. I wasn't my intention to force the issue. The first modder is from Japan and I thought the language barrier might have been an issue. The PM sat in his inbox for about a month and he visited once about halfway through that time. However, sometimes no answer is an answer of no. So I'll take it at that. Subject dropped.

One commenter said that in the past you bought a finished product. No pre order or retailer specific bonuses, no dlc, no microtransactions to unlock already present content. That's amazing, what a novel concept. /sarcasm Thoughts?

Can you still play the game after securom is removed? Another point is that as a means of DRM it may violate the EULA to either bypass the installation of securom or remove it and then find a bypass to run the game in it's absence. Implying you will have to use means that will get you kicked from this site. The only way to rid ourselves of this hardware (so I've read) damaging DRM garbage is that we stop buying the games in question. I don't mind the DRM as the publisher has a right to protect their product but don't screw me over in the process, such as damaging my hardware of violating my user rights.

Sounds like a mod conflict. By the car tunnel not there, do you mean if you go there it is physically not there or is just the map marker missing? Post your load order. -
Mine seemed to take forever to open. You might have a bad disc. Can you return it from where you bought it?

I've never used "resurrect 1" just resurrect. Try this. Type "kill", "resurrect", "disable", "enable". That may reset him. Don't exit the console after using disable or you will lose the ref id. Just in case baseid 9426e, refid 94285.

What are those factors? That's an unsettling thought. This and pay for mod content concepts may kill modding as we know it. IMO we may be living in a golden age right now. It didn't occur to me at first but micro transactions are already here in the form of DLC. Fallout NV sold for about $60, it's addons probably added up to another $40 to $50. This new game over time cost the player $100+ to buy. And it wouldn't surprise me if the DLC was already built at the same time as the core game. They could sell all at once for $100 but I think many would choke at that number, so they got their $100 per game in a roundabout manner. I'm reminded of a racing expression "How fast you want to go depends on how much you want to spend." Consumer products are such that if you want more you spend more (think of optioning out that new car you buy) Why should games be any different? We have no idea how sophisticated games will be for the generation after us. What we rant about here now may be business as usual then, our children won't complain because that's the way it is.

I don't know if developer costs have gone up or down, but I would like to see facts to support the statement that developer costs have gone up. How do you figure? Technology seems to be going down in price. A large flatscreen tv that cost $3k+ ten years ago (I remember someone telling me about his purchase then) is less than $500 today for a larger screen. What does exist for pc hardware is a price floor. I got my first pc in 2000, cost about $1800, got another about 4 years later, cost $1500 (reused the peripherals), my latest as of 09 cost $2k (new peripherals). If I want a new pc I can expect to pay about $2k. In each case I bought an almost high range machine. Microtransactions are a good strategy for the seller. People will pay $1 a hundred times rather than pay $100 once.Personally I want you to sell me your product then go away from me. I'm reminded of a quote from 1983's Scarface "Never underestimate the other guys greed."

It's amazing what people come up with when they smell money. I've used hundreds of mods. Some great, many average and quite a few are garbage. I have enough trouble choosing what pro made games are good or bad (case in point, a new AAA release that is a turd - Aliens Colonial Marines). Just how much money do you want Valve? Leave the modding community alone before your greed destroys it.

I'm looking for a spell mod. When cast the pc goes limp and drops as if dead, then you can move around the same way as using tfc in console. The pc's body stays put. Later the spell wears off and the pc gets up and the camera returns to normal.

I'm trying to get some text in a mod description to display yellow bold. I add the code to the description in the edit page and submit, but what is see is the code around my text, not the result. What I am I missing?

I recently tried out this mod vipcxj air flight system It adds wings to your character and allow you to fly. I had the idea that you should be able to fly faster then you could run. Currently the wings, a clothing item, are unenchanted. I made an addon esp that overrides the wings only adding the Ring of Skimming enchantment. I have not used his mod or resources in any way. My esp only has one line in it, the clothing item, and uses his flight system esp as a master. Since I do not modify his file, do I need permission to upload my addon from the author?

Sorry, after so much frustration I never thought to answer. Yes to 1 and Yes to 2 as far as I can understand it. I now tried a much older save with the mods of only that save and no bash patch. The game is very crashy around the IC. I'm using a game booster that turns off most unnecessary programs on a Vista 64 bit system. This was the system I had two years ago and it was never this bad. Just now I teleported from one interior cell to another then stepped out near the IC, crash. A new record. My current load order for that save. The game fought me last night every step of the way. It's as if the entire game has gotten corrupted. edit - Ok, it's gone down the toilet now. Referring to the save above the menu for teleport everywhere has options for Dance Syncronizator in it. Take that out and options for kurtee night eye appear. :wacko: :wallbash: This is a new one. edit2 - now it crashes when I take a screenshot. -

Well this is it. Whatever has happened the game has become the most unstable I have ever experienced. Never endings crashes. Removed mods, loaded a save from 100 saves ago, nothing works. Strange thing is I haven't done much with it. Compared to last year where despite some CTDs and not using wrye or boss it was somewhat playable. I was using the console, adding and pulling mods with not a concern and it was a miracle it ran at all yet it ran. Now it's useless. :wallbash: Thanks for the help. -

Just checked the comments section. It works great until something goes wrong and then it's a complete game reinstall. The sensual walks for BC hang was caused by an earlier version. Got that fixed now. edit - I still get a ctd everytime I go near the IC waterfront. This whole thing is just driving me nuts. edit2 - took out better cities. Rebuilt the bash patch. IC Waterfront is very crashy still. Enter house, leave house, access menu, CTDs everywhere. -

I didn't know about wrye bash. The last time I used it was 2 years ago. I cleaned the dirty mods as best as I could understand the instruction. I reinstalled better cities and Let the people drink. Built a bashed patch. Game thanks me by hanging on loading the main screen. EDIT- I put back the dirty mods, still hangs. I removed Better Cities and the game loads. Even when everything is set back to the way it was (no bash patch dirty edits) with BC added it hangs. EDIT 2- Got the game to load with BC installed. No cobl. The issue appears to be the Sensual Walks plugins for BC. Got a small problem. The eyes on the female Argonians are outside the head. I use colourwheels sexy overhaul. It uses the human head for the females but the bash patch sets the eyes apart for the default argonian head. How do I fix that? Also still getting crash on exit. -

I have the latest stutter remover installed. I run cobl only for the alyeid steps. I'll start by removing those. I can't run wrye because I can't run blender at the same time. I have to use one python library for wrye or a different library for blender. At this point I'm way over my head for trying to run things. I have the 4gb fix and heap size set to 900. -
