  1. It was a Greater Bonewalker I had been fighting. I started again to change my stats & am starting to get the hang of it. Thankyou both for the replies.
  2. I'm new to the game & are now stuck unable to move (encumbered) because I have ended up with 0 strength & 4 endurance. Where can I see what caused this? Does it show somewhere if I have a disease? How do I get it back?
  3. I'm playing a similar game, but without conjuration. I'm on level 15 (Adept) and still only get through the tuff fights by doing a Jesse Owens until my magicka recovers. I've taken enchanting, but I'm yet to create anything more powerful that what you get doing the mage college quests. I thought I'd be doing it easier by now, the same mage with an occasional sword would romp it in.
  4. So the icon showed up there, but wouldn't save. Or it couldn't find an icon in the exe? http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/2889/iconmb.jpg Try the attached icon.
  5. What Operating system? Can you right click on the exe in the start menu & go to Properties & then change icon, then browse to the exe that has the icon.
  6. GOG seem to do pretty well out of this, although they don't update the old games. I'm 51, & think you can make the game a difficult as you want by the way you choose to play. Unfortunately you can't choose to have anything you do have an impact on the game.
  7. Thanks for posting, I didn't have system restore enabled to get a backup from. Nor did I have the Enchanting mod everyone is blaming.
  8. You have to use your wasd keys, they disabled the arrows.
  9. This is the only game I've bought that forced me to use Steam. How do I turn off auto update? I unticked every option in the settings. Uninstalled Skyrim & then reinstalled from my disc, only to have it update with the broken patch as part of the installation.
  10. That's what I'm doing. I'm on my 4th character (although I only play until level 30 or so, were the default setting becomes too easy) This time I'm playing a "battle" mage. No armor, buying nothing (other than a few lockpicks at the start) using only one handed weapons, spells, staves & potions I find. No training or skill books, & no crafting & try to keep my level as low as possible. Killed Alduin last night on Level 8. Even on adept it's a challenge, but I don't have to worry about what things they drop as I don't need the money.
  11. Yes, a nice one too. Help 5 people, then see the Steward to buy the home, then become Thane! I believe you have to stop the necromancers from summoning Queen Potema as well. You get that quest from the Steward. I stoped the necromancers Talk to the Jarl & take something of her husbands to a Talos Shrine.
  12. I got up to ebony armor, but I had to level up another 5 or 6 levels before there was enough ebony ingots to make a full set. But yeah, just get the perks you want , provided you have the level.
  13. It's easy if you get yourself arrested, don't start any fights in the mine, just do what you have to to see the King & then escape with them,(you'll have to stab the snitch) you'll get your gear back & your name will be cleared.
  14. I don't know how beautiful it is, the whole city was designed with the sole purpose of making the map useless. But thanks WarKirby, I now have a house in Markarth, but I had to drop 5 levels to do it. Going back 2 levels, to when I had 4/5 people of the Reach didn't help, so I went right back & bought it before helping anyone other than the Jarl. I now have my own enchanting table, but I'm no longer a Master Enchanter. (although I'm the Archmage, so I had one anyway)
  15. The Jarl told me I could buy a house & be thane when I was better known. I helped 5/5 people of the reach & now I don't get the option from his uncle. I'm on level 25. Buy a house in Markarth still shows up in my quest list.
  16. Unfortunately you can't get this game without steam.
  17. Dito E:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Skyrim Edit: sontasejou, If you just put the femalebody_1.dds in .....\Steam\SteamApps\common\skyrim\Data\textures\actors\character\female then it works without Load Loose checked.
  18. I tick the box that says Load Loose Data Files & then OK, but it doesn't save it. ie If i click on Data Files again , it is unticked.
  19. Thanks for the reply DarkeWolf. A faulty CPU had kept me out of my P67 rig for a few days, but now that it is up and running properly I did some checking. It seems the toolset adds & installs DEMO Tutorial dazip each time I use it. Uninstalling the dazip with ModManager, also deletes the DEMO directory. I don't know why I never noticed it in the past.
  20. I posted this on the Bioware site, but have got no replies, so I thought I'd ask here. I reinstalled Dragon Age after not playing it for quite a while. I installed all my favourite mods, & I found I have a MOD installed called DEMO Tutorial dazip. I don't remember ever seeing this in the past. As far as I can tell it was put there after I exported a mop file with toolset. Are the two related? As the mop file was exported to D:\\My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\AddIns\\DEMO\\core\\overide\\toolsetexport\\ I don't recall seeing that directory before either, or am I just getting old?
  21. No you can help the reavers & unlock the specialization, defile the ashes, then turn on the reavers & slay the dragon.
  22. :thanks: idat, After following links for days , your the first person to post a reply that actually worked.
