  1. If its still around I'd like a copy too :)
  2. ENB mods can slow your load times significantly (went up to 2 minutes from 5 seconds for my system) needless to say I'll need an upgrade before I deal with that on a regular basis
  3. Archery is rough until you get the crit in the stealth tree, normal shots just don't have enough "oomph", Stealth does get to the point where its rediculous and you can stealth away, you do need to pay attention to "natural" stealth spots a bit though (dark = good). I think I did the thief quest rather quickly with my archer as that gave me a solid start on armor/weapons, both were top tier (I later "consoled" them to max level, as I think levelled quests are rediculous, also the top tier thief armor... the way its received makes you think you could swap it in later but nooo, so yeah I "cheated" once I hit the levels where I'd get them anyway) Try to stick to dungeons that are low/in valleys, the higher up the tougher they are in general. Big tough bosses in wide open areas will ALWAYS be your doom as an archer, just try to see how you can use the environment to your advantage. Not sure which race you are, but some offer good skills for those really tough fights. Get your stealth up to the x3 multiplier, keep working at your bow skills (shooting random rabbits/elk ;) ) I wouldn't worry about your stamina with an archer.
  4. It also only makes you invis if you ENTER stealth mode, so uncrouch -> recrouch after you've activated it At least I think its that spell, its been a while.
  5. I'm currently going pure summoning/enchanting, and enjoying all the AI cockups :D Then again I have the patience to wait for my dumbos to maneuver the dungeons...
  6. Well I was going back and forth a lot till I discovered: 1. Ulfric used to be a Thalmor "asset" 2. The current queen secretly still accepts Talos as a god. 3. Ulfric wants to attack while the legion prefers dialog. 4. During the neutrality discussion (part of the main quest, if you don't side with anyone) the Empire bends over backwards to achieve Peace, while Ulfric just looks out for himself. 5. During the above you also notice the Empire sees the Thalmor as a necessary evil. 6. Rikke >> Ulfrics sidekick :P
  7. Stealth, once it hits the point of being able to stand in front of someone (when its dark only) becomes pretty rediculous. Dagger + stealth is a bit harder, Archery+ Stealth is very easy as you get multiple stealthed hits. Basically after getting in one critical you shouldn't get in another anytime soon, also once they spot a dead body (and yeah that code seems to be in) they should be in an "alert" state that heightens their detection, should still be able to hit them from behind but not stand in front of them...
  8. I ran into one dungeon where the draugr had 100 arrows each on them, were only 4 but been living off those ever since. I wish I knew which one :P
  9. Yeah I was also all about rushing in and saving the ... wait a hag? aaaah :D
  10. Well... this time the Thieves Guild are actually Thieves.... Later on you do get kind of a "good" ending, but Karliah says it well: "We are THIEVES after all" Basically killing is a nono, profit is good.
  11. That sounds so romantic! Makes me wish my wife was into gaming :( I feel like this calls for some clarity...their characters didn't have clothes on...not the OP and his girlfriend. ;] You don't say? Yeah, hence the winky ( ;] ) And you also spoiled it for us :( But yeah Heavy Armor skill there.
  12. If a thief came into my house and attempted to steal my stuff... well he'd be so overloaded that he'd still be crawling towards the door by the time I managed to find time to visit :)
  13. If you look at your character, the longer you don't feed the more obviously vampire-like he becomes, thus ending with towns attacking poor li'l you
  14. Why bother training each level? You can just get that by actually playing the game, training is just a lazy way out :P
  15. Bow and Arrows. If its not dead before it realizes I'm there, I'm in trouble :) (and yes dragons are.... problematic :P )
  16. Nord Thief: Stealth Archery For gear: Smithing Enchanting Thats about it for perks :) Everything else gained is incidental. (Light armor, lockpicking, speechcraft etc.) Its funny when you get "ambushed" and the wannabe ambushers just stand there... uhm where is our target? :D
  17. In every Elder Scrolls there are "loopholes" you can abuse to become invincable. In Morrowind and Oblivion you could mix spells to do insane amounts of dmg/stun etc all in one shot, or you could become 100% stealthed 100% of the time (100% chameleon :D ) Its always up to the user to decide what makes sense. Making "uber" armor doesn't seem quite as broken, its just a way to balance the game really, your combat prowess will probably be sucking if you powerleveled your smithing as you're several levels higher than your combat skills can support, which is why your armor/weapons make up for the difference. Later on the game will be harder once more. Also did you put the best possible enhancements on your gear? I doubt it, as powerlevelling enchanting isn't quite as easy, also that would be a ton of perks you don't have for combat :O Or you cheated your way to those perks, then you have no reason to complain anyway.
  18. Thieves Guild was the 1st main chain I did in the game, and I mastered every single step, only started killing on the final few quests, where its unavoidable anyway. If you have a bow you can use the arrows to make them move to wherever you shot it...
  19. If you get hit hard on the head you'll notice a difference :P (I'm in the "no helmet cause they ruin the look" type of people, and when I get caught and a hard hit connects with the head its lights out even with lots of health left, getting hit nomrally does practically no damage though :)
  20. Yes at the ally/enemy marker. At least mark bandits red :)
