  1. Seems like it is possible to change the UI a lot. I like that outlook.
  2. I support this proposal. At this current time optional files could either be stored in a folder, e.g. “optional”, or renamed so they won't interfere with the game. I believe in later stages, when the creation kit becomes available, we will have installation scripts again as we have with Oblivion so optional files won't be a problem then anymore. The basic mod however should be presented in a way that makes installation easy. And lets be honest it is not hard to get the files structure right. And concerning that: If I'm not mistaken the mod should not have a “Data” folder inside it's archive because the NMM will simply extract everything into the “Data” folder. So if the archive starts with Data then you will have a Data folder inside the Data folder and the mod won't work. E.g. if it is a texture replacer the archive has to start with a “textures” folder and not “Data” folder.
  3. Really nice and 1024x1024 seems reasonable for these rather small objects. This will add a lot of details to the world, looking forward to it.
  4. Ah I remember OBGE for Oblivion. I liked the DoF there even if it was not perfect. Having the unlimited view to the mountains is nice but a dynamic DoF would be even better. And while we are at it what about god rays or underwater distortion? I mean common: @LuDux: Depth of Field is not Field of View.
  5. First style: Giving the player two perk points per level up will obviously increase the available perk points from 70 to 80 up to 140 to 160. (Note: Judging from my level progress the maximum attainable level is somewhere in the 70ies). Are there even as many perks? - Saying this will basically max. out any character. Additionally this won't fix the problem that e.g. a mage will have to level his one handed skills in order to gain perk points from it as it won't change the way XP is acquired. Second Style: Splitting them in two will shift the focus a lot and will probably result in a noticeable loss of combat capabilities. It will also reduce the maximum attainable level and fiddle therefore with loot and monster spawn tables. It also won't change the fact that a mage will still have to level his one handed skill in order to gain perk points, in fact it will put emphasis on leveling every available skill in the combat section because the player won't be able to allocate e.g. perk points learned by non combatant skills e.g. speech. In conclusion: In order to change the way the player plays the game you have to change the way the XP is earned. For example: You currently have to level your one handed skill as a mage just because that’s the only way you will earn XP after you maxed out your magic skills. I see only two solutions to solves this: 1. Abolish class freedom (Result e.g. no more sword wielding mages) 2. Give up the idea of becoming better by doing something more often I don't like number 1 since this will remove player choices. Number 2 will only remove some role playing elements most probably won't even care about and return to a more traditional approach to character improvement. Let me clarify number 2 by an example: Let the player gain XP points into an universal account (e.g. by killing an enemy, or by conducting an action as pick a lock or mix a potion(non combat)) and then let him choose into which skill he wants to allocate it. Only when the player allocate the XP into an skill his level increases. This will keep the current level cap an amount of perk points untouched. With this you could always use destruction magic and still gain all available combat perk points because you could use the XP you gained to level your one hand skill without even touching an one hand weapon (play style change!). However this has obviously the disadvantage of not being very role playing like. Since I can use one skill to boost a different skill that I rarely even touch.
  6. High quality texture mod increasing texture resolution while staying true to the Skyrim art style UI overhaul that takes advantage of PC controls A traditional 2D map New 3rd person camera for bow that is like the camera of Hunted: The Demons Forge More hair styles More cosmetic options (Lip, hair, make up colours) Higher quality body meshes (e.g. HGEC) Levling remap to a more traditional RPG (gain XP by killing or doing things but choose where to put it) More armors and weapons (booty FTW!)! Faster walk speed while maintaining other speeds (only walk is slow) Horse for companion or shared ride with companion better companion AI (avoid traps, don't attack when sneak and still hidden usw.)
  7. Very impressive and I like that you want to stay true to the vanilla style. I think the style is mighty fine, it would have been just better if they shipped the PC version with at least 1024 textures. I saw the other landscape texture mod and was rather disappointed that it is more like a photo texture mod. That doesn't really fit with the game IMO. Keep it up!
  8. Or you double click and when asked about Fallout you just close the message. It will still open the *.bsa.
  9. Does that mean I need the toolkit to change that?
  10. I've replaced the mesh of the Dragonscale Armor for females with the mesh of the Thieves Guild Armor for females. Works fine so far. Now the helmet of the Dragonscale Armor does not remove the hair of the character while the hod of the Thieves Armor does so. Thing is with the replaced mesh the hair of the character is still displayed and clips thru the hod. I guess that means that the mesh does not decide whether hair is displayed or hidden so what triggers this behavior? I want to remove the display of hair while wearing the Dragonscale Helmet, which mesh is swapped with the Thieves Guild Hod. See picture: http://s1.directupload.net/images/111119/temp/mfkmce4g.jpg
  11. http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/467216-armor-mesh-filenames/ I just did it myself with Dragon Scale and Thieves Armor. 1. Install FOMM and leave it alone. 2. Open Steam > Steamapps > common > Skyrim > Data > Skyrim - Meshes.bas Now you can inspect and extract meshes via FOMM. 4. Pick the Armors you want to replace and extract them to a new folder. 5. Recreate file structure of armor which is to be replaced 5. Rename required files of the armor you want to the armor you want to replace 6. Create new zip 7. Install via Nexus Mod Manager 8. Enjoy or Bugfix
  12. Ah thanks I was just looking for the same. If I'm right, then the Dragon Armors are player only and only the player meshes should be there. That should give a fair idea of the file name structure of other armors. Edit: Worked fine. Now I just need to figure out how to clipp hair away...
  13. I really love the look of the Thieves Guild Armor but you know the enchantments are not all that good and the stats rather “suck” in higher levels. So I would like to request a mod to change the look of the Dragonscale Armor to that of the Thieves Guild Armor. That way I would have the best light armor of the game in a style I actually like and am able to enchant it the way I want. That would be really cool. Or as alternative if there is an tutorial how to do this as long it is not that hard you can also point me to that. Edit: Did it myself. Other Issue: I want to remove the hair when wearing the Dragonscale helmet. Is this possible? It is independent of the mesh, because I replaced it with the Thieves Hood (no hair) and the hair of the character did not blind out but clipped with the hod :ohdear:
  14. So you want a new model? I think you will have to wait for the SDK.
  15. Yea I know that because I do reget some... and at lvl 52 new perk points are hard to come by... So bump up for a easy to use respec mod.
  16. Ha and I thought I had bad luck. I killed one near the first Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary and for some reason it rolled down the hill to the pond near the entrance to the sanctuary... and then it pop back up and rolled down again... and again... and again... and again... and it still does so... One Dragon I killed did not change to a skeleton and neither could I absorb its soul. I could loot it but it was empty. Now there is a intact Dragon lying around  Dragonborn fail...
  17. Thanks, got it. I thought it was just robe stuff, silly me... And thanks for the link to the all black version. This works too.
  18. I like the Shrouded light armor set of the dark brotherhood however I dislike the face mask of the Shrouded Cowl for female characters (I don't know if it is the same for males). I don't know if this is possible at this point however I would like to request a mod that removes the face mask of the cowl. The other thing I want suggest might be recolor of the set to brown leather like the Thief set. The black and red stands out too much IMO.
